Morning time. Damien had told his Pokemon that they would explore Route 40 when the morning came, and know that it was here, they weren't going to let even the strongest snow storm stop them. Besides, there was also a specific Pokemon Damien wanted to find on the route. One of his favorites when he helped out at the day care in his home town of Goldenrod, Damien always loved the electric sheep Pokemon, Mareep, and it's evolutionary line, maybe even more so than his favorite dragon-type Pokemon. He hoped one day, he would have one on his team that would grow and eventually become a strong Ampharos, and now the day had come. He was going to find and catch a Mareep.
As Damien headed out onto the route, his young Poochyena, his Plushy Swablu, and his Squirtle followed along. Poochy was a newborn, but it wanted to come explore with, even if the snow storm was happening. It wanted to gain experience, and Damien wanted to get to spend more time with his Pokemon. He hadn't gotten the chance yet to spend much time with either Poochy or Flutter, and he intended on spending more time with them while they traveled the path. "Route 30," Damien said as they passed the sign heading out into the route from Cherrygrove. "Well, here we go guys. This is the way to Violet City. We can do it!" Damien smiled as his Pokemon were excited to go out and explore, even braving the cold weather. The fire in Damien's heart and each of his Pokemon's heart would prove to be too warm for the chilly cold wind to freeze as they traveled through the winter storm.
They continued to walk down the path. Damien's curious hyena-like Pokemon would smell something weird every once in a while and wander around sniffing, but he never seemed to find anything and would come back. Poochy definitely was an awkward Pokemon. He was anxious to find something and excited, but at the same time he was nervous to take part in a fight with a wild Pokemon for the first time ever since it was born. Still a baby, it really didn't have much experience.
Flutter flew above her trainer and the two other Pokemon, very excited about the adventure herself. As she flew, her plush wings flapped. Damien was sure his plush Pokemon was as warm as she was soft and cuddly. It was the first time she had adventured at Damien's side, but they seemed to be bonding pretty quickly, which was great.
Kara, the first Pokemon companion Damien had ever obtained, walked by Damien's side. She held a determined expression as usual. There was a clear glint of happiness in her eyes and her smile however. Damien figured she was happy about the way they had preformed just yesterday, saving the day and stopping the team rocket grunt. She was also happy to be looking for more companions and that Poochy and Flutter had joined them for the first time. But she needed to be alert, she knew. In a winter storm like this, it would not be hard for a predator to attack an unaware prey.
The fire in their hearts burned bright enough to melt any chilly obstacle as they pushed on down the route.

Whoever the person was that wished for a white Christmas surely hadn't been expecting a snow storm. Route 30 was experiencing heavy snowfall and a terrible wind, the conditions were rather miserable and appeared to be scaring off humans and pokemon alike into shelter. A young Chatot had been braving the fiercely cold weather with its flock, their usual pace of travel was completely not possible with the conditions. The flock had not realised that their youngling had strayed from the pack as its pace of travel was significantly slower then the rest as a result of its small size. The young Chatot could not see its flock through the heavy snowfall, it realised at that point that it was alone and unsure of its safest route home. Chatot begun to panic as it looked for any source of shelter to wait out the snow storm.
Chatot scanned meticulously through the heavy snowfall it happened to notice another avian pokemon, a fluffy looking Swablu. Chatot noticed that below the plush looking Swablu was a male human and two more pokemon, one akin to a turtle and the other one akin to a wolf. Maybe the human and his trio of Pokemon might be able to help it out in this predicament that it found itself in. The young, wild Chatot begun to cry out for help as it descended slowly towards the male human, its slow pace indicated that it had no ill intent towards the human or his pokemon.

The Pokemon that Damien and his party first ran into wasn't the one they were looking for specifically, but they weren't expecting to find the Pokemon they wanted to find that easily. They knew the Mareep wasn't going to show up immediately. They may have to search a while before finding a Mareep like they wanted, they knew. Even if that meant capturing other Pokemon in the meantime. They continued to push on through the snow storm until Damien's Plushy Swablu heard a cry.
Flutter alerted Damien and the other Pokemon walking beside him to the oncoming crying Chatot, but it was obvious that the lost, youngster Pokemon meant no harm to them. As the Pokemon approached, Flutter wondered what had happened to this other flying-type Pokemon to make it appear so lonely and in such distress. As it approached Damien, his first guess was that it was lost. His Pokemon had the same thought. It was clearly a young Pokemon, so maybe it had lost its flock while braving the snow storm. Damien's quircky little Poochyena approached the distressed Chatot carefully, smiling at it and trying his hardest to hide its sharp teeth. Poochy meant no harm. Poochy held out his paw towards the Chatot, as if to invite the wild Pokemon to join them. The dark-type tried its hardest to explain to the Chatot that they were all nice and would love to have it as a part of their team, and Flutter and Kara backed him up with a friendly smile jestered towards the young Pokemon.
"Come join us," Damien said to the Chatot as he gave a friendly smile. "We will get you healed up and keep you safe. You can battle alongside us. Would you like that, young Chatot?"

With the reassuring click of the ball, Damien knew they had been successful in capturing the new member of their team. Although the Chatot had been scared at first it seemed, Damien and his Pokemon had successfully helped it feel more safe and more comfortable with them than in any situation or predicament the bird thought it could end up in otherwise, with its own flock long gone by now. But the Chatot was surely confident that with Damien and his team, he would be able to rest and become well. Damien held the Quick Ball in his hand, a ball meant for a quick capture of a Pokemon. "Don't worry, little Chatot," Damien said to the bird Pokemon inside the ball, "Get some rest. I know you'll like being a part of our team, I just know it Chatot. It is a lot different than the flock you are used to, but we can be your flock now."
Damien smiled as he put the ball away to allow the Chatot, who he now named Zazu, to rest."Great job guys!" Damien said to his current team. "We did a great job at making the Chatot feel more comfortable around us. That is something that would usually be very difficult to do, especially with the Pokemon being of that age."
Damien, Poochy, Flutter, and Kara would then continue their search for the electric sheep Pokemon. As they walked, Damien and his Pokemon noticed as the hard-to-travel in snow storm weather slowly began to disappear and was replaced by a much nicer layer of fog. Although, it was still cold and hard to see in the fog. After leveling up a little bit from the confrontation with the Chatot and gaining some experience, Poochy let out a large howl into the foggy area, testing out his new move as they walked on, each and every member of the team excited for the rest of their journey to Violet City.

A dense fog permeated throughout Route 30, making it extremely difficult to see the path in front. Progress was difficult for Damien and his team as the ground was still covered in a thick layer of snow which had been deposited by the snow storm earlier. Looking around, he could see piles of snow clumped on top of hedges and bushes. However, one of the bushes seemed to have a life of its own as it started moving about. It wasn't long before Damien realised it wasn't a bush at all but a Mareep!

Damien and his Pokemon team continued to walk down the path, struggling to follow the path but managing to pull through while working together. The snow covering the path alone made it hard to follow the path, not to mention the chilly blowing wind and the dense, foggy conditions that surrounded them on their journey. But, as it would seem, it would not be long until the party found themselves what they were searching for on the way to Violet City. It was Flutter, Damien soft plushy Swablu that would first notice the Pokemon, and then let Damien and his Pokemon know, seeing from above the ground and their heads while in the air. Even flying in the air was hard for the flying-type Pokemon in the weather conditions, but Flutter was pulling through. "Swa- Swablu!" The cotton Pokemon let out. "What is it, Flutter?" Damien asked as he quickly looked to where the Pokemon was looking. It seemed as if... As if one of the snow-covered bushes aside the trail was moving! But that was crazy and absurd. There was no way it was a bush. When the Pokemon finally managed to shake off its snow-covered wool coat, Damien and his Pokemon were excited to see what was revealed. It was the electric sheep itself. A Mareep. Flutter seemed to let out a sigh of relief after realizing the Pokemon that hid under the snow was not, in fact, a living bush. Poochy, Kara, and Damien were all excited in the meantime to get to welcome the Mareep onto their team. Its final evolved form, Ampharos, was one of Damien's favorites, ever since he met one and got an opportunity to play with one while volunteering at the daycare back where he lived, in Goldenrod. "Well hi there little Mareep," Damien spoke to the Pokemon, "you must be freezing out here on your own! If you come with us, we can keep you warm and help you protect yourself in the wild. You'll grow big and strong with us as we grow too, together as a team. I'm sure with time you'll feel right at home as a member of our team!"Damien smiled towards the Mareep and his Pokemon followed in welcoming the Mareep. He then reached into his bag and pulled out another Pokeball, identical to the one he had used to quickly capture the worried Chatot just moments ago. Damien tossed the Quick Ball towards the wild Mareep, hoping it would feel properly welcomed onto the team. "Welcome to the team, Mareep!"(OOC: Sending Poochy out and throwing a Quick Ball! 100% catch rate )

Self-updating Mareep's code: Storm Lv. 9
| Ability: Static Held Item: None Happiness: 0
Tackle Growl Thunder Wave | Nature: Jolly. This Mareep is a very happy little Pokemon, and is a very optimistic supporter of its' team. When in battle, however, it is always determined to help the team win.
|
OT: Damien JohnsonWith a Click! noise, the Mareep was now part of the team. Damien and the rest of his Pokemon were glad he had decided to join the team and accept the invitation. "Woohoo!" Damien said excitedly. They had a new member of the team and they were all excited to have them come a long, every one of Damien's Pokemon seemed happy to have Storm, the newly caught Mareep, there now. But now it was time to continue through the fog. With his Pokemon still by his side travelling through the hard-to-see-through fog, Damien was excited to give Mareep the opportunity to fight with them. The only issue was that the fog could make it hard to see any oncoming predator Pokemon or even trainers, such as the Team Rocket Grunt that Damien and Kara had fought back in Mr. and Mrs. Dig's home. It was not an easy battle, but together and with the optomistic support of the rest of the Pokemon team they managed to become victorious in the battle. (OOC: Making some major party adjustments but self-updating. Taking one Sitrus Berry from Scratches and giving to Kenyatta. Taking the Weakness Policy from Buck and giving it to Storm. Giving another Sitrus Berry to Snowball. Kenyatta is taking Scratches place on the party for now. Storm is taking Buck's place in the party for now. Also, requesting an encounter Silver, but if not just waiting for an encounter)

The white out conditions had not been very favorable weather for Silver who had been hoping to train his Pokemon more. As he walked through the tall grass trying to find anyone or anything to battle. As he saw Damien in the distance he thought he could pick on the young trainer and get a bit of training done at the same time. " Oh good I found a weakling I can battle go Zubat, lets try and get some training in by beating the daylights out of this pest." As the bat Pokemon flew around ready to strike the fog seemed to get thicker making it more likely for Pokemon to miss their targets. The crimson haired boy sends out his Zubat (Level 8) please select a Pokemon.

(New trainer bike still on)
The fog was beginning to clear up and the hot, humid summer day presented itself. It would be a nice day for a ice cold popsicle after some fun training sessions with team. Their next approacher, however, was not a Pokemon. It was a trainer! A red-haired boy had approached Damien and his Pokemon at his side. Well, all but the Pokemon he had just now captured, Storm. The boys choice of words made Damien's Poochyena snarl towards him, but Damien told him to calm down. "Calm down now, Poochy," Damien said softly to his young and quick-to-upset Pokemon with a smile. "That is just what he wants, for us to get upset. We must stay calm and stay together. We can win anything that way." Kara and Flutter both nodded in agreement, and Poochy followed, allowing the tension to cool. It was easy for his young Pokemon to get upset, especially with the weather as hot and humid as it was.
Damien then turned his attention to the boy with the stuck-up attitude. "And... who might you be? An out-of-uniform Team Rocket Grunt perhaps? That would explain your attitude." Although Damien told his Pokemon to be calm, he couldn't help but be upset about not the way he talked about him, but the way Silver talked like it was Damien's Pokemon that were weak. Poochy was basically begging to tear the Zubat to pieces with its teeth. He was being quite irrational in the situation, and that made for the fact that it was definitely not the time to send him into battle.
For this battle, however, Damien wanted to give the newest member of their team some experience in the team environment. Pulling out the Quick Ball he had used to capture the Pokemon just moments ago, he then released the electric sheep Pokemon onto the battlefield. The mareep seemed to have been watching the whole situation from his Pokeball and had his eyes in a concentrated focus on the Zubat and its trainer. (Captor or trainer? Damien wasn't sure.) Damien could see the fire - No, it wasn't fire - the storm inside the Pokemon's eyes. It displayed a great deal of the electric-type's personality already. "I think... Damien thought to himself, I think Storm is a very fitting name.
Right, welcome to the team mareep!" Damien said with a large smile towards the newer team member. "Let's show them what we can together. Hit em with a Thunder Shock! Let's give em' a storm!" "Mareeeep!" Damien's Pokemon closed its eyes and focused on its attack, before hurdling an electric shock straight from its body at the mid-air opponent.
Let's give em a storm.

For a moment Silver thought this kid was going to be another bore, what with all the stay calm talk, but then he mad a jab at the red-head. Of all things he could have said that was probably the one thing that could cut through all his arrogant defenses. "Don't ever compare me to those vile hacks," he spat, a vein popping on his left temple. "Let's see what all your talk of teamwork can do when the team can't tell friend from foe. Zubat," he called in a commandant tone, "Supersonic that cotton ball."The fluttering bat did as told, stopping its light circling immediately to target the sheep. It was just as he had closed his eyes. A mistake. Zubat was faster and more attentive, allowing his disrupting noise to bore into Storm's thoughts. He became completely disoriented. Where he once thought he was sending a spark of electricity to roast the zubat, instead he had rammed into a tree trunk.

Opening his eyes after preparing for the Thunder Shock move, Storm found himself in a confused state and worried frantically for a moment, before ramming at what he thought was the Zubat, but it was nothing more than the base of a large landmark-like tree. "Ma- Mareep!" Storm let out a shocked cry. "Mareep, you’re okay!" Damien called out to his Pokemon, making sure he was alright. The electric sheep Pokemon got up, seemingly dizzy from not only the confusion but from the impact with the tree trunk as well. "Snap out of it, Storm! You are okay! We are all right here with you." The mareep shook his head a few times after listening to Damien. As hard as it was, Storm tried to keep a steady eye of his at the potential enemy; the red-haired boy. This fight was no where near over yet.
"Alright Storm!" Damien spoke to his Pokemon. "You can do this! We all believe in you!" Damien turned to both his left and right, where his Poochy, Flutter, and Squirtle were. The Pokemon let out an encouraging nod and smile towards their new teammate. Storm let out a deep breath and attempted to let his confidence rise. He tried focusing on his opponent as best as he could muster. "Right, this time, lets try another Thunder Shock to that Pokemon! Bring the storm! Focus, you can do it." Poochy let out a little supportive howl. Damien and his more experienced team members were all extremely confident in the mareep's ability to win this fight.
Together, there is nothing we can't do, Damien thought to himself. But it has to be together.

Silver snickered as Storm missed zubat entirely to attack a tree, and then watched disdainfully as Damien blabbered about believing in the stupid sheep. "Not doing so great now, huh?" He said coldly, he enjoyed watching Damien having trouble after he had compared him to TR. He was going to let this boy eat his own words again. "Zubat, Astonish and Absorb! Give them something to think about," he ordered and Zubat fluttered forward. It looked nervous as it moved closer to Storm who was charging up. Perhaps Damien's encouragements had worked? Something went wrong when Storm tried to release the electricity and he somehow managed to hit himself instead! Zubat snickered and could easily get in close to screech straight into the mareeps ears, making him flinch from surprise. The electricity had cleared Storms head though and he quickly retaliated with another shock of electricity, which he released properly and Zubat screeched once more, this time from pain. It zoomed in and bit down on his striped horn, sucking some of his energy albeit not much. Zubat then retreated looking worse to the wear, Silver looked like he didn't care.

It was clear to Damien that the red-haired boy didn't seem to care much about Pokemon in general or even his own for that matter. After Damien's last encounter with the Team Rocket Grunt at Mr. Dig's house, he began to wonder if this would become a reoccurring thing throughout he and his Pokemon team's journey. Although, Damien definitely knew the cruelty people showed their Pokemon, from his time helping out at the Day Care and the Pokemon Center in his big hometown of Goldenrod. He saw all the trainers that healed their Pokemon. Several of them merely wanting to heal their Pokemon because they were tools in battle, but others actually saw their Pokemon as partners in the battlefield and was more worried about their Pokemons' health than the battles ahead. As a trainer should be. Damien definitely knew what type of trainers these guys were, and the worst on the spectrum at that.
Damien pulled out an item from his bag to help restore his new teammates health. "Here Storm," Damien said to his young mareep as he began to apply the spray-type medicine to the Pokemon. "This should help you feel better!" Damien gave a happy smile to the Pokemon. "Glad we were able to work through that dose of confusion together. Now, let's show him what kind of team, what kind of strength he is dealing with! Let's hit em with another final dose of Thunder Shock!"
It was an unexpected thing that Damien needed to be prepared for in the future. Like any other status conditions that could come about unexpectedly. He had recently planted Lum Berries in his garden and that would work for a variety of status conditions. Perhaps he could have his Pokemon hold that for when they need it? It'd be a risky bargain, he knew, replacing the other items his Pokemon held if he did make the decision, but he knew his Pokemon believed in him to make the right decision on the battlefield. For the team.
Storm gave the Zubat a look, as if to apologize for what it was about to endure because it had a rude trainer. With all his might, Storm shot out the Thunder Shock attack in the Zubat's direction, coming from the static of the Mareep's wool. With a strong hit like this, the sheep Pokemon was pretty confident the first round was over as long as the shock found its target.
(OOC: New trainer bike still on, using Potion on Storm, Storm uses Thunder Shock. if the Zubat faints, use mod XP bonus for Storm.)
