Escape to the Ruins (First Chamber)(F)

The blasts of dark energy made the grass wave like it was hit by a wind although no pokemon were chased up. Some of the grass kept rustling after most of it had calmed down and it caught Tyler's attention in the end.
It felt like time had come to a stop as the grass continued to rustle with no other sound and just as it seemed like you couldn't wait any longer, a little grey pokemon stepped forward.
It looked almost like it was sleepwalking, and it slowly turned around to stare unblinking at Tyler and did not react to the silly faces that poltergeist was attempting to distract it with.
What did it want? It just... stood there.

An Espurr [lvl 10] appears and is starring blankly.

Tyler wasn't sure what to think at first as the feline Pokemon appeared before him. The giant eyes looked as though it had seen the very pits of hell itself while it's odd choice of just standing before him made him wonder if this was one of the rare Pokemon said to live in the ruins of Alph. " Either you have seen things far beyond mortal comprehension or you have the dumbest looking face I have ever seen, having said that however I have not encountered another of your kind in these parts yet so I have a feeling you are pretty rare."

Tyler only had a single Dusk Ball remaining and he was hoping to save it for something he knew was rare but given the incredibly odd look on the Espurr's face he figured he would be able to sell it for a pretty penny if he captured it. As he still had a few other Pokeballs to spare he decided it was worth the risk as Poltergeist moved into position. The ghost Pokemon knew Tyler's plan by now but was still ready to strike if ordered to do so.

" How would you like to come with me? If you have seen the things that would give you such a look you would make a great partner and if not once you see my plans you will have the perfect appearance in advance." He then grabbed his last Dusk Ball and started at Espurr pondering what was going through the cat's mind as he got ready to try a capture attempt without needing to launch a single attack if things went according to plan.

The moonlight above would increase the power of the Dusk Ball and Tyler had a feeling he would need every ounce of it to capture this odd looking specimen. " Ok Poltergeist be ready, if this Dusk Ball fails we might have quite a fight on our hands, if the worst happens the last few battles should be enough for you to know how to take a hit or two." He then tossed the ball at Espurr hoping luck would be on his side. Poltergeist on the other hand was just hoping that he could avoid taking one for the team if at all possible. He was still.not very strong and did not want to face Tyler's wrath if things got out of hand for any reason.

If Poltergeist had learned anything up to this point it was that if Tyler got angry he would pay a dear price and he certainly did not want that.

Sadly luck was not on his side. Espurr seemed to do absolutely nothing as the ball was sent its way. Just continued staring blankly into space. However, just as it would hit the ball suddenly stopped mid air. A faint psychic glow caught it and brought it down to the wild pokémon's eye level. The odd pokémon's head cocked to the side slightly as it now stared at the unfamiliar device. It seemed a bit confused at the design of the specialized pokéball. A moment later it sent the object shattering into the rocky wall surrounding the moonlit outcrop of the ruins.

The psychic pokémon hummed, turning its wide gaze onto the ghost pokémon. It began moving, breaking into a strange waddling run, then leapt up at the floating gas. To its surprise it would pass harmlessly through, its tiny arms managing not to connect with a single tangible thing as it tried to grab at Poltergeist. Espurr landed with a hard plop and turned its gaze upward back to the ghost type; still unblinking.

Though the Espurr managed to stop his first attempt at capturing it Tyler was not about to let the feline get away. It was clear that the cat Pokemon was tougher than it looked and that trying to capture it at full health was not going to be a good idea but at the same time Poltergist would probably struggle against any psychic type attack Espurr might know. With that in mind and knowing that Dragon Rage from Flint would likely knock Espurr out Tyler had no other choice than to recall Poltergeist and send out Blitz the Magnemite in his place.

" I was hoping not to have to do this but as this Espurr seems to be tougher than expected and I don't want to miss my chance to capture it. You will have to take one for the team Blitz, you should have no trouble handling anything it throws at you." After pausing for a moment to think about which move he should try first once Blitz could attack again and after considering the few options he had he decided to try and paralyze the psychic cat to try and make it easier to capture. As Blitz awaited orders Tyler finally gave the order to attack.

" Blitz I don't want you to knock Espurr out but Thunder Wave should go a long way towards allowing us to capture it. Once that is done I have a feeling one of your other moves will be quite useful for helping us capture this tricky feline." As Bliiz was about to fire off his attack Tyler saw the sun starting to rise above the ruins. Since he was out of Dusk Balls anyways it did not bother him anymore though he thought maybe the changing time of day might change the kinds of Pokemon he might encounter.

He was starting to run low on Pokeball's and knew he could not stay for much longer even if his plan to capture Espurr worked unless he made a quick pitstop at a Pokemart to buy more after the battle. The mere thought of spending more money despised him but if he kept running into rare Pokemon such as Espurr the cost would be well worth it in the end. It was then that Tyler noticed Blitz had yet to attack Tyler screamed at the magnet to fire. " YOU DUMB HUNK OF METAL, WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR? ATTACK ALREADY." Blitz then frantically fired hoping Tyler would calm down.

The espurr slowly turned its head towards Tyler as Poltergeist disappeared in a red flash and the man began to talk. Another strange thing appeared and the espurr sent out a wave of psychic energy to try determine if it was alive or not, this strange floating piece of metal. It didn't do much after all.
Blitz wasn't really bothered by the psychic attack, it was tucking lightly at it like it tried to move it but otherwise little happened.
Blitz was very bothered by Tyler's screaming though and quickly did as ordered, hitting the psychic pokemon straight on with a power full blast of electricity. Espurr shivered from it but didn't remove its eyes from the magnemite, it then raised an arm and readied itself for another try at something, but it froze in place. All its muscles spasmed at once and it couldn't move an inch.

After Blitz finally succeeded in paralyzing the Espurr Tyler calmed down a little bit. Blitz had also avoided getting confused which was good news as well since Tyler's plan would not take any major roadblocks for now at least. " Blitz your incompetence at times really rubs me the wrong way but my plans remained unchanged even with your limited intelligence." He then looked over at the Espurr and smiled as it's muscles twitched uncontrollably. Even paralyzed Tyler knew the cat was going to be tough to catch and thankfully Blitz had the perfect move to soften it up before trying to catch it.

" Blitz it is time once again to prove your worth, I want you to use Sonicboom on that Espurr so it won't be able to break out so easily. Once you do this Great Ball should be able to do the trick." As the magnet Pokemon started to prepare the attack Tyler reached into his backpack and grabbed one of his Great Balls and got ready to throw it. As he did Poltergeist popped out of his Pokeball and started to float around Tyler's head. The specter was truly pressing his luck as Tyler was in no mod for games as he scolded the young ghost.

" What is this? National Find A Way to Tick Me Off Day? You and Blitz are doing a great job if it is, get out of my face you worthless ball of gas." Mania and Höllenhund both thought it was hilarious that both Pokemon were pushing their luck as they both wanted a chance to put the youngsters in their place. Flint and Senorita Ramirez were the only two who were just interested in watching the battle from their Pokeballs and did not dare get involved with the chaos going on outside. As Tyler finally got Poltergeist to leave him alone he realized Blitz had been too busy watching the humorous display to even try and attack and Tyler was livid.

" DO I have to do everything myself around here? Blitz attack now before I melt you down and use the scrap metal to create a pair of spurs. Come to think of it with all the metal you have I might be able to make a pair of steel toed boots as well." Blitz then finally got ready to strike and Tyler aimed his Great Ball trying to give the cat as little time as possible between the next attack and his capture attempt.



OOC: Blitz used Sonicboom, Tyler tosses as Great Ball. Running Shoes are exhausted for the rest of this battle. Updating the Great Ball myself. Also keeping bike mode on to make things a bit easier on the mods.

While Blitz was busy watching the commotion around Tyler, Espurr was busy fighting its way out the paralysis and figuring out what was happening. Slowly it managed to wriggle free and wile it still spasmed here and there it got control of its body again.
Just in time to Blitz being shouted at and a wave of sound hammering into it, making it loose control of its psychic powers which waved out and hit the magnemite and turned his world upside down. While Blitz had managed to avoid being confused by the first one, he hadn't been successful with the second.
Not that it made any difference as the espurr was in no condition to avoid the great ball and had no way of fighting the capture which happened in a blink of an eye.

Blitz grew +500exp (1649/2269).
It also gains +1 Happiness.


Poltergeist helped and grews 1 level to [lvl 14]

I don't know if something has happened to Poltergeist's profile? Happiness isn't noted anywhere, although I put the two from this thread in now.

Though Blitz had been confused by the second confusion attack Tyler was relieved that his plan still worked out in the end as the Espurr was captured without any further issue. " Excellent we captured that Espurr, it put up quite a fight for such a silly looking feline. I have to give that pest credit for fighting as well as it did." Tyler said as he thought about a fitting nickname for the psychic cat. After going through a few options in his head Tyler had a name pop in his head that he felt would be perfect.

" I will call you Pandora, your face looks just like it let loose every trouble in the world and anyone looking into your eyes will abandon all hope." With that issue out of the way Tyler was still not ready to leave yet as he felt he still hadn't seen every Pokemon the ruins had to offer and it also was proving to be a great place to train Blitz and Poltergeist more. Tyler was still a bit worried about running out of Pokeballs but he felt like he still had enough for one more encounter before he would have to buy more.

" I am going to risk one more battle before I go and buy more Pokeballs so you two had better not screw things up. The last thing I want to have happen is to let a rare Pokemon escape by running out of Pokeballs because you two make a mistake." Tyler then heard something approaching and hopes it might finally be the Pokemon in particular he was after. Not wanting to miss his chance to have another battle Tyler ordered both Blitz and Poltergeist to be ready as one of the two would be tasked with battling whatever was approaching.

" Get ready you two, once we know what is coming one of you two is going to be the next Guinea Pig while the other acts as backup. Do not let me down or there will.be hell to pay." With his warning in place both Pokemon stood by ready for a tough fight. Neither wanted to anger Tyler any further not did they want him to act on his threat. As far as they were concerned nothing that could jump out would be as dangerous as Tyler on a bad day. They just both prayed that whatever came out would be what Tyler was after so he might become a tiny bit happier.

Tyler had heard correct, something was approaching but probably not what he had expected.
A purrloin had strayed into the ruins, why and where it came from would be a mystery but it looked like it was put exploring. It looked curious at Tyler and his two battle ready pokemon, and the flopped down and rolled around playfully, while it kept glancing in their direction in the hope it had gotten their attention.
It probably wasn't in for bellyrubs though.

As Tyler saw the Purrloin he was somewhat disappointed as it was not a Pokemon that seemed worthy of the effort to capture. However he figured he could get some poor idiot to spend a few bucks on it so he decided he might as well try and capture it just to get something out of this encounter. It would give Poltergeist another chance to train a little more as well so as far as he was concerned things were not quite as bad as they first appeared. " Purrloin might be worth it to a low class trainer though I have no use for one besides the Pokedex. Even so I guess I have to make the best out of a bad situation."

As he snapped his fingers Poltergeist floated over towards the cat Pokemon and started to make silly faces trying to draw its attention away from Tyler who planned to make this a quick encounter if luck was on his side. With Poltergeist kept the cat distracted Tyler grabbed one of the Great Balls out of his backpack and looked at the cat hoping for the right moment to come so he could try and capture the cat without any trouble. Poltergeist might be able to last a round or two against it but after that he was pressing his luck. While waiting for the right moment Tyler hid the Great Ball behind his back trying to keep it out of the cats gaze until he wanted it to see it.

" Poltergeist sometimes I really do question your mental state but at least you can be amusing. You might just be of some use yet if you keep training but I guess only time will tell. I think we have stalled this Purrloin for long enough so lets get this show on the road." He said as he revealed the Great Ball from behind his back and got ready to toss it. He had no experience dealing with Purrloin before but if it was anything like Espurr he had a feeling he would need a lot of luck to capture the feline on the first try. Nonetheless he felt it was time to try as he threw the ball at the cat and started to hope for the best.

Poltergeist hoped for good luck as well as he would bare the blunt of any attack if the capture failed though as by now he was used to taking one for the team that was hardly news to him as much as he hated being a punching bag.

Tyler was a bit surprised that the Purrloin allowed itself to be captured on the first try with little hint of resistance but he couldn't complain as he could certainly make a profit from the easy capture. " Well that sure was easy, it looks like your face did the trick there Poltergeist. Now to come up with a name for our new servant." It took a while to come up with something as the Purrloin hardly seemed threatening or agressive in the slightest but it was still a dark type and had the right moves to become quite evil with the right training.

" I think I am going to call you Claws. I don't care if you like it or not but it is the best thing I can come up with for now." Now that Tyler had figured out what to call his new Purrloin he reached into his wallet to see exactly how much money had had only to find out he had far less than he had thought. His plan to buy more Pokeballs would have to go on hold for the time being and hope he had enough for whatever else he wanted to capture while he was here. " Oh that is just fantastic, I am pretty much broke. We really need to capture something good so my wallet can get fat again."

He wasn't quite sure what else he might be able to capture while he was here but the ruins had been great for training so even if he didn't find anything else to capture it was a huge help towards getting ready for his next mission assignment whenever he got one. " I wonder if there is any other feline Pokemon around here as Purrloin is the second feline I have encountered here? Getting 3 different kinds from one trip would be a great way to attract any poor sap.who love feline Pokemon." As he whispered to himself Blitz started to build up a hot of.electricity hoping it would be able to participate in the next battle.

As Tyler didn't know what would pop.up.next he didn't want to.have the magnet cause any damage to anything without being sure first but a Thunder Wave might just be a great way to make capturing whatever came.out next easier. " Ok Blitz it is your turn. Use Thunder Wave on whatever jumps.out next but do nothing else until I give the order." Tyler said to the young Magnemite as it got ready to fire off the weak jolt of electricity.

Though the next Pokemon to appear was not a feline it still had four legs and was a Pokemon Tyler had not caught yet. As an added bonus it was a Pokemon rarely seen outside of the Alola region making Tyler all the more eager to capture it. His plan to strike in advance worked wonders as the Rockruff was paralyzed right at the start of the battle making the difficulty of capturing the canine just a little easier. Even so with how few Pokeballs Tyler still had left he was not about to try and capture the Rockruff until he had done quite a bit of damage to it first.

Tyler also liked the idea of forcing the canine to undergo a bit of pain to show it he was the boss so killing two birds with one stone was a no brainer to him. " Oh would you look at this little Rockruff thinking just because it can bite that it is tough. If you thought that Thunder Wave was unpleasant you are going to hate me for what i have in store for you next. I hope you are a lot tougher than you look as you are going to experience quite a bit of pain shortly." Blitz already knew what was coming as it took aim at the rock type ready to fire off the ear shattering burst of noise directly at the canine.

" Blitz use Sonicboom on this Rockruff and show it what happens when you mess with us." As he gave the order Tyler grabbed a Great Ball out of his backpack and examined it. His stockpile was dwindling more by the minute but the mere thought of the oodles of cash he could make off of his captures removed any doubts that he was making the right call in capturing so many Pokemon. " If my plan works you should not be too hard to capture at all. Then again you might just be begging me for the pleasure of being my servant when I am done with you anyway." He then took aim at the Rockruff and got ready to toss the Great Ball.

Even if his plan did not go exactly as planned he would at least have a shot at capturing the young rock type before it could do too much damage. That fact alone made the risk worth it though if it failed he could not afford to take the risk a second time as he needed to make each remaining ball count or else he might just run out.
