Short and to the Poison Point [F]

The moonlight greeted Venom and Venipede, as the two exited Union Cave, and now found themselves on route 33. It wasn't nearly as dark as it was inside the cave, so Venom took a quick look at their new surroundings, taking in the new sights and sounds of this route. Venom was eager to get to the Azalea Town gym and win his second badge, but he was even more eager for something else at the moment. The ninja knew that route 33 was home to another powerful Poison type Pokémon. One that he very much wanted on Team Toxic, and he had no plans of moving on without one. So, not wanting to waste another second, Venom walked right into the tall grass without a moment of hesitation, beginning his search for his new poisonous Pokémon friend.

As Venom began his search, Venipede looked all around from Venom's left shoulder, trying to help him locate this new Pokémon, but he wasn't quite sure what they were looking for. "Venipede?" The centipede Pokémon asked his trainer, wanting to help, but needed some information of course. Venom kept searching, but still answered his Pokémon's question. "A Nidoran. A male Nidoran. They have a big horn on their heads, buck teeth, and big ears." The Poison type trainer described the Pokémon they were looking for to Venipede, and Venipede gave him a nod, building up a picture of a male Nidoran in his head. "Veni. Venipede." With that, the two continued their search, despite how late it had gotten by this point. Regardless of the current late hour of the evening, Venom knew that one or two wild Nidoran had to still be running around this route somewhere. He had to at least try to find and capture one before calling it a day and turning in for the night.

It was a beautiful night with an almost full moon and with a sky full of stars that blinked in all the puddles of water from the earlier days rain. It looked like reason for Union cave to be flooding came from excess water from both side of it. It was lucky there were deeper areas of the cave for the water to go, so it hadn't been flooded and much more difficult for Venominon and Venipede to get through!

The search seemed fruitless at first, they saw a sleeping mankey which it was best not to disturb, and some odd shapes in a tree that might be cocoons of some sort.
After some time a distant screech was heard, it was clearly furious with something.
As Venominon moved closer he could hear that she screeches could sound like 'ran' and 'nido', which undoubtedly was promising for Venominon. Venipede could hear things like 'I'm not weak!' and 'get lost!'

In a clearing that was so filled with water it looked like a little lake, although a shallow one as the grass was breaking the surface in several places, a male nidoran and a black dog was facing each other.
The nidoran was not using one of its front legs and did its best to face the poochyena which kept circling it while waiting for the right time to attack its prey.
The nidoran♂ knew that if it showed any weakness it was going to be picked out and that was fatal. It had had trouble keeping up with its group and was now facing the predator alone.
"You will regret this, I am no-ones late night snack!" The nidoran screamed once more and then got distracted as it noticed Venominon and Venipede.
The poochyena saw its chance and leaped forward and let its teeth sink deep into the nidoran's♂ injured leg. The nidoran♂ yelped from pain and forcefully pushed the black pup away.
The nidoran stared agitated back and forth and tried to show how healthy it was while keeping all potential threats in sight. The poochyena kept on the far side of the nidoran and looked warily at Venominon, it wasn't ready to give up this easy meal just yet.

Venom and Venipede enjoyed the soothing night air, and the amazing view of the moon and stars, as they continued their search for a male Nidoran. All the water around the route didn't bother either of them one bit, mostly because Venipede was currently on Venom's shoulder, and because all the water reminded Venom of his wetland or marsh home in the Safari Zone of the Kanto region. Venom had absolutely no qualms about walking through puddles that left his shoes soaked, which is exactly what ended up happening after his first several steps onto the route. As one would expect, the poisonous pair was sure not to bother the sleeping Mankey they came across, and quietly made their way passed it. Not long after that, Venom was quick to notice a tree filled with what he knew very well as Kakuna. Under normal circumstances, Venom would've gotten overly excited, and ran right over to the wild cocoon Pokémon to get a closer look. However, the Poison type trainer knew that where there's Kakuna, there's likely Beedrill, and at this late hour, they were likely asleep. If there was one thing Venom knew, it was to never disturb a Beedrill hive, and so, he and Venipede quietly moved on without making too much noise.

Thankfully, it seemed that their efforts were rewarded not long after that, as Venom heard a very familiar call from further down the route. Given his history, Venom quickly recognized it as the call of a Nidoran, but given the tone of its call, Venom could also tell that something was wrong. So the ninja picked up the pace, and started to run straight towards the source of the cries he'd heard. Venipede shared his trainer's concern, able to sympathize with the words he'd heard from the distressed wild Pokémon himself. Upon arriving on the scene, Venom's eyes went wide with shock, as he watched the wild Poochyena circle the wild Nidoran male like the predator it was. Venom and Venipede knew that as brave as the Nidoran was, if they didn't step in, it wouldn't last much longer against the bite Pokémon.

Even though he could tell from his words that this Nidoran wanted to handle this himself, Venom stepped out of hiding, and glared a very serpent-like glare at the Poochyene. "Pardon me, but I cannot allow this to continue. You'll have to find something else to chew on Poochyena. This Nidoran is with us." Venom said to the Dark type in a very firm and unyielding tone, already deciding that the wild Nidoran was apart of his team. "Pede. Pede. Venipede." Venipede did his best to match his trainer's tone and glare, as he crawled off of his shoulder, sensing a fight coming on. "There is no honor is striking a wounded foe, no matter the reason. Venipede, give Poochyene a dose of your Poison Tail!" After Venom had quoted a lesson from his sensei, Venipede charged right for Poochyene, dodging the pools of water as he went, his tail filling with high concentrations of poison. "Veni! Venipede!" While Venipede began his battle with Poochyena, Venom ran over to the injured Nidoran's side, wanting to make sure he would be okay. "Im sorry for interfering in your battle, but its against my honor as a ninja and a trainer to turn my back on a Poison type Pokémon in danger. You'll thank me for this later, I promise." Venom spoke to the poison pin Pokémon, hoping he wouldn't be too upset with him.

Venipede charged straight for poochyena, who jumped back in surprise, splashing in a puddle. The venipede clearly was of a higher strength than the wild poochyena, and had much more battle experience. The tail slammed into the dog, the poison glands on the tail of venipede coarsing with a toxic substance. The poochyena wasn't giving up that easy however, and bit into the rather sensitive looking green flesh of the venipede's tail, tearing into it roughly, the sensitive flesh of the tail of the venipede exposing it to a critical hit. It had already been primed from its fight against the Nidoran, where it wounded it without taking any damage itself in an ambush attack, and wasn't going to give up its hard work to a random interloper. Despite the poison latent in the venipede's attack and poison point ability, this poochyena resisted the poison andseems to have an unusual resistance to poison, perhaps due to its diet of nidoran!

Meanwhile as the ninja approached the small nidoran, its eyes widened with fear. It wasn't looking for help in this fight, and it certainly wasn't comfortable letting a human get this close to it, especially with its injured leg. The Nidoran backed away, trying not to show its limp as it backed up, but stumbling slightly as Venominon approached, still trying to keep an eye on both the poochyena, and Venominon. As Venominon said to the Poochyena that the Nidoran was with them, the Nidoran sneered at the statement, "As if!" it seemed to say. It quickly fired off a poisonous barb at Venominon in defense, before starting to hastily retreat as it fled across the water flooded field.

Having recently gained a massive boost in confidence, Venipede showed no fear, as he faced the wild Poochyena in battle. Admittedly, Venipede did wince very hard when Poochyena bit into the softer flesh of his tail, but Venipede wasn't even close to backing down. Venom was a bit surprised by this Poochyena's immunity to poison, but after glancing at the injured Nidoran, he quickly deduced that Poochyena likely built up an immunity after hunting Nidoran like this one for so long. The very thought of how many Nidoran this Poochyena must've done away with made Venom even angrier, as his serpentine gaze stared daggers at the wild bite Pokémon, and a small hissing sound escaped his lips for a moment. "Your Nidoran hunting days are over Poochyena! Im sure you've bitten more then your fair share of Pokémon, so now know what it feels like to be bitten back! Venipede, while Poochyena is in close, hit it with your strongest Poison Tail and show it why it shouldn't mess with Poison types!" While the attack Venom called for wasn't actually a bite, he knew that it would still do well to get his point across to the wild Dark type Pokémon.

With Poochyena's jaws still biting down on the centipede Pokémon's tail, Venipede fought through the pain, and filled his tail with his deadly toxins once more. "Veni! Venipede! Veni!" Venipede swung his tail as hard as he could, using all of his strength, with Poochyena still holding tightly onto his tail. But that proved to be a fatal mistake on Poochyena's part, as Venipede ended up slamming the bite Pokémon straight down into a shallow puddle of water, resulting in a very hard hit that left Poochyena not just beaten, but also soaking wet. As Venipede did this, Venom turned towards Nidoran once more, hearing the protests from the poison pin Pokémon. Venom's expression soften as soon as he turned to the injured Poison type, as he made sure to stand a few feet away from the small Pokémon, not wanting him to run away, especially with an injury like that one he had. Venom had been in this situation many times before back home, so he got down on his knees, and tried to meet the Nidoran at eye level, trying to calm him down.

"As I said, Im sorry me and my friend interfered in your battle. You have a fine warrior's spirit, but you never would've made it very far with an injury like that one." The Poison type trainer explained to the Nidoran, gesturing to his injured leg. "I know this is all very sudden, but if you come with us, we can help you, and make you stronger. A lot stronger. Please Nidoran, I don't wish to fight you while your hurt. There's no honor in that." Venom did his best to reason with Nidoran, and tried to be friendly, showing no fear and slowly extending his hand out to the small Poison type. Ordinarily, most trainers would've been caught off guard by the sudden attack from this Nidoran, but not Venom. In the space of space of three seconds, Venom grabbed the poisonous barb that Nidoran fired at him with his bare hand, then quickly jumped over Nidoran, landing on his feet on the other side, blocking Nidoran's intended escape route.

"A very nice try, but Im a ninja. A ninja who has a lot of experience with Poison type Pokémon. So much so that poison doesn't effect me anymore." As a demonstration, Venom gave himself a small jab in the palm of his hand with the barb Nidoran shot at him earlier, but Venom didn't even flinch, and nothing ended up happening to him at all. Venom then tossed the barb to the side, and knelt down to Nidoran again. "I can see that you really don't wish to join my team, and under normal circumstances, Id respect your wishes and let you walk away, but your far too injured for that Nidoran. Me and Venipede saved you this time, but Im sure there are other Poochyena around here that will smell your blood and enjoy an easy meal. Please, at least let me help you, and if you still wanna leave after that, Ill understand." Venom maintained a gentle and comforting tone when speaking to the wild Nidoran, hoping that his display of skill was enough to show Nidoran that he was no random interloper, and that the poison pin Pokémon would accept his offer at the very least.

Poochyena was torn, Venipede had proved to be a fearsome opponent but it had chased its prey for so many hours, and it was so close to get something to eat.
The hesitation ended being fatal as Venipede raced forward to show how strong his Posion Tail could be. Poochyena turned tail and ran but it was too late and Venipede slammed it into a tree leaving it limp at its root.
It would get to its legs after quite some time and would limp away, if it didn't have a flok to help it, it would face a hard time, just like the nidoran♂ had.

Speaking of the nidoran♂.
It didn't seem to understand what Venom said as it certainly didn't react to it. Now he was closer Venom could see that the leg wasn't just injured from poochyena's bite, but was infected from an older wound. Not even posion types were immune to bacterias and there were certainly a lot of those in a dirty and humid environment like this route.
It was also visible that Nidoran♂'s eyes were glazed a bit and it did not see his extended hand at all. Which probably was for the better as it wasn't thinking clear due to the pain and the infection. It might just have tried to bite it.
It didn't notice that it's barb didn't work either although it would probably have been really impressed with Venom's skills.

It panicked when its escape route became blocked and staggered around and charged in the other direction where Venipede was. Stumbling a few times but the will to live carried it on.
As Venipede was much smaller than Venom its mind thought it to be the easiest way out and it charged at the other poison type, ready to give it a fight.

Venom still didn't like hurting Pokémon, even if they did injure and attempt to end a Poison type's life, so Venom felt a little sorry for the wild Poochyena, taking a moment to watch it limp away. However, he still didn't feel sorry enough to offer it any help. Besides, Venom figured this could be a learning experience for the bite Pokémon. In the future, Poochyena will look back on this defeat, and think twice about hunting another Nidoran, male or female. That was Venom's hope anyway, but his worry and concern only grew when he turned back to the injured Nidoran male. From the look in its eyes, and the way it was moving, it was easy for Venom to see that this was no mere battle wound.

The Poochyena might've left, but the situation was still very serious, and Venom was quick to take action. "Venipede, don't let Nidoran get away! Its in real trouble, and it needs help soon! Don't attack it though! It cant take anymore damage!" At Venom's command, Venipede quickly ran out in front of Nidoran, blocking its path of escape once again. "Pede! Venipede!" The centipede Pokémon kept his eyes narrowed and locked on the poison pin Pokémon, standing his ground, and refusing to strike back, no matter how much Nidoran attacked him. Venom had to think fast. Venipede was still injured from his battle with Poochyena, and wouldn't be able to take Nidoran's punishment forever. Likewise, Nidoran was barely standing, and definitely wouldn't last much longer if it didn't get the help it needed soon.

It was then that Venom realized there was only one thing to do in this situation. The ninja reached into his bag, and pulled out a single Great Ball. It may go against Nidoran's wishes, but Venom knew that this was far better then just leaving the small poison pin Pokémon to die. "You might not be able to hear me clearly right now, but please try not to fight this Nidoran. You'll thank me for this later. Im sorry its come to this. I hope you can forgive me." Venom figured that given its condition, the wild Nidoran probably couldn't hear a word he was saying, but the Poison type trainer still felt like he had to get those words out before doing what he was about to do. "Alright Great Ball, get it!" His aim right on target, Venom threw the Great Ball right at Nidoran while it was focused on Venipede, hoping that this capture would succeed the first time.

OOC: Great Ball used on Nidoran. And yes, I would like for Venipede to learn Bug Bite, and forget Protect in place of it please.

The nidoran♂ did not stop as Venipede moved in front of it, it had been charging him already and it believed all around it to be hostile like the poochyena had been.
It slammed into Venipede as the other poison type refused to budge, but the strength was leaving the nidoran♂ and Venipede was well protected by its shell on this side of the body. Instead the nidoran♂ staggered backwards panting, it seemed disoriented for a bit but then narrowed its eyes at Venipede.
"I'm fine! Leave me alone, I'm fresh like a fish!" It spat and then disappeared in a red flash as the great ball hit it.

The struggle didn't last long as the nidoran♂ gave in for the great balls insisting, and the ball probably felt a bit like a shelter and hiding place. Time for a bit of rest.

Venipede gains a level and is now level 23!
He gains +1 happiness for seeing how helpful Venominon is.
He becomes engulfed in a bright light.. He is trying to evolve!

As soon as the Great Ball stopped shaking, Venom let out a sigh of relief, glad that Nidoran's suffering wasn't prolonged. However, the crisis wasn't over quite yet, as Nidoran still required medical attention. Venom knew this, as he walked over, bent down, and picked up the Great Ball containing said Nidoran. The Poison type trainer took a moment to look at the orb in his hand, thinking hard about the small Poison type Pokémon inside. "Welcome to Team Toxic Nidoran. Your days of suffering are over. I promise, we'll take good care of you, keep you safe, and help you get back into fighting shape. We always look after each other on this team." Venom spoke to Nidoran through the sphere, hoping that his feelings were getting through to the poison pin Pokémon, even if only a little.

After that, Venom turned to his good friend Venipede, as the centipede Pokémon crawled back over to him. "Thank you Venipede. You did a great thing here tonight. Im very proud of you, and Im sure Nidoran will appreciate all that you did for him once he's feeling like himself again." Venipede looked up at his trainer with a shimmer in his eyes, very happy to receive such praise, and even happier that he was able to help save their new friend. "Venipede. Veni." This shimmer soon spread to the rest of Venipede's body, as he began to grow and change shape, causing Venom to get his smile back. "Well done. You've earned this my friend." When the glow finally faded away, in Venipede's place was a larger, stronger, and much more round Poison/Bug type Pokémon. "Whirl. Whirlipede."

Venom gave his newly evolved Pokémon a gently rub on the top part of his body, very happy to see that all of Venipede's, or rather Whirlipede's hard work has now paid off. "Your an inspiration to Poison types everywhere Whirlipede. Now, lets go make sure our new friend gets the help he needs to fight another day." Whirlipede happily jumped up and down a few times, agreeing wholeheartedly with Venom's words. "Pede. Pede. Whirlipede." With the fighting over and done with for now, Venom quickly turned in the direction of Azalea Town, and ran straight there as fast as he could, easily able to find his way around in the darkness of the night. Unable to ride on his trainer's shoulder anymore, Whirlipede rolled after Venom, not having too much trouble keeping up with his new level of speed. Once the duo arrived in Azalea Town, they headed straight for the Pokémon Center, where Venom explained the situation to Nurse Joy, then gave her all of his Pokémon for treatment.

While it was true that only Nidoran required immediate medical attention, Venom still wanted to make sure that all of his Pokémon were in healthy fighting shape. Nidoran's treatment ended up taking a long time, and Venom ended up falling asleep at the center as a result, far too worried about Nidoran to even think about leaving the center for anything. When the sun rose the following morning, Venom rose with it, heading straight to the operating room to check on Nidoran. Nurse Joy returned Venom's Pokémon to him not long after that, and told him that Nidoran's leg will make a full recovery, but Nidoran will require a great deal of physical therapy to get back into fighting shape again, and that Nidoran shouldn't push himself too hard doing so, or he might end up with permanent damage to his leg. The ninja made sure to take note of all of this, as he bowed to the nurse, thanking her for all her help. Venom then left the Azalea Town Pokémon Center, and headed straight back out onto route 33, wanting to get started on Nidoran's physical therapy, and see if they can maybe get a proper introduction this time.

As soon as he made it back onto the route, Venom grabbed Nidoran's Great Ball, and tossed it into the air, letting him out. As soon as he emerged from his ball, Nidoran stretched out, awakening from a good night's rest, then took a look around. "Nido?" The first thing the poison pin Pokémon noticed was that the searing pain in his leg was gone, and his vision was crystal clear again. Venom smiled down at his new friend, and knelt down to him, trying his greeting once again. "Good morning Nidoran. Im really glad to see that your feeling better, but try not to push yourself too hard, okay?" Nidoran immediately turned to Venom, remembering him fairly well, and didn't look too happy. "Nido. Nido!" Venom was nice enough to explain everything that happened last night to Nidoran, and Nidoran took the time to listen to him. While he didn't like that he had been captured by a trainer, Nidoran was grateful to Venom for saving his life and fixing his leg, although he'd never admit that to Venom.

Venom didn't seem to mind Nidoran's attitude though, and gently gave the small Poison type a rub on top of his head, much to Nidoran's protest. "Nido! Nidoran!" The small Pokémon glared up at Venom, and Venom couldn't help laughing a bit. "Your a scrappy little one, aren't you? That's good. Im really sorry we had to meet under these circumstances, but Im not giving up on you Nidoran. Now, lets have some breakfast, and you can meet your new friends and teammates." Venom stood back up, then let all five of his other Pokémon out of their respective Poke Balls. Nidoran was a bit surprised at first, seeing so many different Pokémon all at once. "Everyone, this is our new friend and teammate Nidoran. Be nice to him, okay?"

Once the introductions were through, Venom found a nice, fairly dry spot for he and his Pokémon to sit down and have something to eat. Venom made sure that all six of his Pokémon got enough to eat before eating his own food, as he also made sure to stay alert for any wild Pokémon or other trainers that might appear, knowing that some battling would be good for Nidoran's physical therapy. Nidoran was a little reluctant to eat at first, but then he was given a nudge by Whirlipede, the Pokémon that played a big part in saving his life the night before. "Whirlipede." Nidoran was a bit surprised, remembering that Whirlipede was a Venipede when it all happened, but the look in his teammate's eyes was enough to tell him that it was the same Pokémon. "Nido. Nido." Nidoran slowly started to eat up after that, much to Whirlipede's delight. The meal was mostly Pokémon food and berries, both rich in nutrients and vitamins. Everything a growing ninja and his team of Poison types need.

OOC: Yes, I would love to have Venipede evolve into Whirlipede, and learn Bug Bite in place of Protect like I said before. Thanks so much.

"That looks really nice, it is not often you see a trainer and their pokemon enjoy a nice day like today in this way," a deep voice sad as a man stepped out from the trees. He came from the direction of Azalea and looked like he was heading towards the mountain that held Union Cave, and he looked like he was planning on going for a nice long walk. He certainly was dressed for a day outdoor.
At his side a Machop and a Geodude was watching and looked eagerly to get going.
The hiker trotted towards Venom not bothered at all by the for other people perhaps, scary sight of a lot of toxic and pointy pokemon.

"Hello, my name is Anthony and we're on our way for a good long hike," he presented himself and continued before Venom got a chance to answer.
"What are you feeding your pokemon? Let me hear the ingredients, it looks quite specialized," he asked curiously and would now listen to what Venom could tell him.

Behind him the machop sighed frustrated while the geodude rolled up and looked closer at Salandit's food and looked like it wondered if it could taste some of it, or if that would give him troubles.
"Machop machop!" The machop called out and slammed its fist into its chest while looking at each and one of Venom's pokemon and challenging them.
Anthony sighed.
"Sounds like I will not be allowed to have a chat unless Macho gets a battle, do you mind?" Anthony asked Venom and hoped the poison type trainer would accept the challenge.

Hiker Anthony is interested in the Venom is using, but Macho [lvl 11] just wants to fight.

Venom and his team of poisonous Pokémon were enjoying their meal, as well as the peaceful and relaxing setting that was a morning on route 33. In between bites, Venom's Pokémon took turns introducing themselves to their new friend Nidoran, telling the new recruit about themselves. As the other Poison type Pokémon spoke in their own language, Nidoran slowly began to open up, and even told his new teammates a little about himself. Venom smiled at the scene before him, happy that his Pokémon were getting along. Unfortunately, the team bonding was cut short by the sound of a new human's voice. Venom and his Pokémon quickly turned, and saw the lone hiker and his own Pokémon emerge from the trees.

Venom stood up, faced the hiker, and listened to what he had to say, as he waited for a chance to speak himself. As soon as Anthony finally gave the ninja a chance to speak, he gave the hiker a bow, before standing up straight after a few seconds. "Its good to meet another trainer. I haven't actually met many since starting my journey. My name is Venominon Ouroboros, but just Venom is fine with me. Im a Pokémon trainer, as well as a ninja from Kanto's Fuchsia City. To answer your question, its a special blend of Pokémon food that my sensei and father taught me how to make. Its all natural. Everything comes from nature. The main ingredients are berries that specialize in raising a Pokémon's attack power, speed, and defense, as well as restoring their health."

The Poison type trainer went on to name off all the different berries that were present in the food he was feeding his Pokémon, having memorized the whole recipe by this time. "Oran berries, Apicot berries, Ganlon berries, Liechi berries, Lansat berries, Micle berries, Petaya berries, Salac berries, Payapa berries, and Shuca berries. Those last two berries are added especially for Poison type Pokémon, so if you intend to feed this to your Pokémon, I would suggest changing it slightly. Some of the berries are very hard as well, so be sure to grind them up really well before mixing them into the food." Venom was very detailed in his explanation, not having much trouble explaining it to a trainer he'd only just met. Koga didn't say anything about this recipe being a secret, so Venom didn't mind explaining it to anyone who asked him about it.

As their trainer took his time to explain the ingredients in their food to the hiker, Venom's Pokémon turned their attention to Anthony's Pokémon, just in time for Salandit to pull her bowl away from Geodude's thieving hand. "Sala! Salandit!" Salandit glared at Geodude, clearly not willing to share her breakfast with the Rock/Ground type. "Ivysaur. Ivysaur. Ivy." Ivysaur chimed in, explaining to Geodude that it probably wouldn't like the taste of their food anyway, since Shuca berries, one of the ingredients, was grown specifically to use against Ground type Pokémon, of which Geodude was one itself. Ivysaur did this with the hope of avoiding a fight, but his efforts were proven futile, as Machop gave the team of Poison types its challenge. "Arbok. Arbok." In response to said challenge, Arbok and Golbat narrowed their eyes at the superpower Pokémon, ready to accept its challenge, if their trainer gave them the order to do so of course. "Bat. Golbat." However, it was Nidoran that ended up making the first move, running out in front of his teammates, and facing Machop with a brave look in his eyes. "Nido! Nido! Nidoran!"

The other Pokémon on Team Toxic were a bit surprised by Nidoran's behavior, as was Venom, as the purple haired trainer turned to his newest capture. Venom then heard Anthony speak up once more, and the ninja shook his head before responding. "No, not at all. In fact, this may actually work in our favor. You see, I just captured this Nidoran, and he suffered a rather serious injury recently. Nurse Joy at the Azalea Town Pokémon Center said he'd be okay, but she also said that he'll need some physical therapy to help him get back to his full strength. So, since it appears Nidoran has already made up his mind, we'll take you and your Machop on. But please try to avoid hitting Nidoran's front right leg. That's where the injury was."

After accepting Anthony's request, Venom turned to Nidoran, and got a battle ready expression of his own on his face. "Okay Nidoran, I know your not too thrilled about having a trainer, but lets do this together. I know you can beat that Machop." Nidoran took a moment to glance at Venom, still not too happy about being told what to do in battle, but one look at the rest of Venom's Pokémon caused Nidoran's facial expression to soften a little. Nidoran knew from their talk earlier, that each and every one of Venom's Pokémon trusted their trainer with their own lives, and were willing to help him in any way that they could, and in return, Venom would gladly do the same for them. After a moment of deep thought, Nidoran let out a sigh, then faced Machop once more, willing to put his trust in Venom for one battle, and hoped that he wouldn't regret it. "Nido!" Venom smiled at this, glad that Nidoran was at least willing to give him a chance. "Thank you Nidoran. I promise you wont regret this. Now lets win this battle. Go easy on your front right leg, and use Peck on Machop!" As soon as Nidoran heard Venom's order, the poison pin Pokémon rushed straight for the Fighting type, his horn ready to strike. "Nidoran! Nido!"

"Venom, eh?" Anthony said with a grin and looked at the many poison pokemon present, "quite fitting I must say."
He followed Venom's explanation with interest and looked like he thought it was a really good mixture. As Venom finished Anthony waited for more and seemed surprised when there apparently wasn't.
"Only berries and nothing else?" He asked surprised and looked closer at Venom's pokemoner.
"Well, if it is mixtured right I guess it can be enough, your pokemon seem healthy as ever! I myself switches things around a bit but I do like to use Kee and Maranga berries, as well as Leichis. But I from what I learned they need more, Macho gets a lot of beans to get proteins enough for his muscles, and the other usually refuses to eat anything unless it contains rocks," Anthony explained and looked at how interested the geodude was looking at the food, "it doesn't stop him for tasting it."

The geodude took Salandit's dismissive behavior as a challenge and while he did not try to take her bowl, he did glare back and refused to back down. He first turned his gaze to Ivysaur after Macho had made his challenge been heard, "Dudedude?" He asked the part grass type what kind of rocks there were in the food, and if he could taste some. If he was allowed and there were no rocks in it, he would spit it out again.

"Therapy?" Anthony said surprised, ""that isn't often you hear trainers talking about that, most are only concerned about strength. Anthony turned to Macho.
"Did you hear that buddy? You are going to get your battle, but you stay away from the legs, do you hear me?!" He called to the machop who instantly looked at Nidoran's legs with a mischievous grin.
"I mean it! If you as much as touch them I'm stopping the battle right away, do you understand?" Anthony demanded and Macho sulked, didn't his trainer want him to win?
Venom had his chat with Nidoran and as the poison type rushed forward Anthony spoke, "here it comes Macho, keep your head in the game and use Focus Energy, don't rush off but think!"
Macho huffed as Anthony was about to continue with all his advice but Nidoran had arrived and slammed his horn into Macho's stomach.
The machop ignored everything Anthony had said and spun around to crash his flat hand on top of Nidoran, pressing him headfirst into the mud.

"Machop!" Macho cried out triumphantly and pranced around proud of his own doing, while Anthony just facepalmed.

Venom took a moment to listen to Anthony's input on his recipe, then listened again to his response. Venom was grateful to receive some input, but at the end of the day, vitamins like protean and calcium boosted a Pokémon's stats when consumed, and those same qualities were found in the berries Venom had already been feeding his Pokémon, so he didn't really see much point in changing the recipe by this point. The ninja then listened once more, hearing Anthony talk about how most trainers are only concerned about brute strength. This made the purple haired trainer let out a sigh, as he closed his eyes before speaking up. "Yes, that may be true for most trainers, but not for me. As your likely aware of by now, I only train Poison type Pokémon, and most Poison type Pokémon lack the high levels of brute strength found in Pokémon like Golem and Machamp. As such, that method of training doesn't really work for me. Besides, all that strength is wasted if your Pokémon ends up with permanent damage to one of their limbs."

Shortly after Venom's brief explanation, the battle began, and Venom made sure to keep a close eye on the opposing Machop during said battle. It was easy for the Poison type trainer to see that this Fighting type was a troublemaker, but if the superpower Pokémon tried anything, Venom had a whole team full of strong Poison types to make him regret hurting Nidoran, their new friend. And speaking of Nidoran, the small poison pin Pokémon was far from down, as he slowly picked himself up and out of the dirt, shooting a glare at his opponent. "Nidoran! Nido! Nido!" Nidoran was clearly not happy with this Machop, but he was able to maintain his composure, as he listened to Venom's other Pokémon cheering for him on the sidelines. "Do you hear that Nidoran? Everyone believes in you. They know you can do this, so lets not let them down. Use your Peck attack one more time, then follow it up with Double Kick!" Still deciding it best to listen to Venom's orders, at least for now, Nidoran gathered his strength, then ran around Machop, getting behind him, then charged straight for the Fighting type, aiming his horn for the center of his back. "Nido!"

It was a shame that Anthony didn't hear what Venom thought about his explanations, he would have corrected and cleared up that he was not talking about the vitamins that you could buy and give your pokemon. Those were present in the food as well and beans were rich of that, it was mostly to use it as an example that he fed his pokemon other stuff than berries.
He wasn't trying to get Venom to change his feeding plan, just surprised he had managed to find a combination that didn't need anything else than berries.

Anthony smirked as Venom used the fully evolved forms of the hiker's pokemon, and wondered humored if Venom was hinting that he believed Anthony just trained for brute strength.
"That is true, and I do know a few trainers who has a pokemon which has a challenge in something like your Nidoran, and that they have found a solution or are working on it," The hiker said warmly.
"When you are not going for strength, then what are your tactics and wishes for your pokemon to know of skills?" Anthony asked curiously but didn't expect any answer before the battle calmed down a bit. A trainer had to be present for his pokemon and Anthony would expect nothing less of Venom.

Macho looked nonchalantly over his shoulder when Nidoran called angrily after him.
"You want more of this?" he asked confident and flexed his muscles proudly, he even puffed out his chest more when he heard the cheering, completely misunderstood whom they were cheering for.
Nidoran answered Macho's challenge by slamming his horn into the fighting type's side and sending him tumbling to the ground. Macho glared as he got to his feet again, covered in mud and he charged towards Nidoran who failed to dodge as the weaker leg didn't want to do as he did. The machop's hand gave the poison type a hard slap flipping him over and exposing his softer belly, Nidoran was fast to react and kicked out with his hindlegs in defense and hit Macho in the face. The machop fell backwards unconsciously.

"I really need to train him to listen to me," Hiker Anthony mumbled and glanced at Venom to see if he had anything to say about the unruly pokemon.

Dude looked quite offended that the many pokemon around him didn't answer his question and when they cheered for the opponent of his friend, who was even beaten, it was too much for him.
"Geo, geodude!" He declared his challenge and flipped once of the bowls with food to show he was no longer friends with the other pokemon. He rolled over to the Nidoran and slammed his hand in the muddy ground as a silent challenge.
"Dude, please calm down. Macho asked for the battle himself, there is no need to be angry," Anthony tried to calm his angry pokemon.
"Dude!" The geodude declared and the hiker sighed and accepted this was unavoidable.
"Alright but listen to me, please," Anthony said and thought for a bit to figure out what tactic was best to go with.
It looked like their hiking would be delayed a bit.

Once Machop hit the ground, defeated, Nidoran took a few deep breaths, slowly regaining his strength. Venom's other Pokémon continued to cheer for their new friend, very happy that he won, and that he didn't get any more hurt then he already was. Venom smiled at this as well, congratulating Nidoran for a job well done. "I knew you were strong Nidoran, and you'll only get stronger from here. Much stronger. Well done." All the cheering and congratulations were more things that Nidoran wasn't used to, as he turned away from his new trainer and teammates, a small blush present on his face. "Nidoran…" Nidoran was embarrassed, having never been treated so well, nor did he ever have any friends or teammates before, so he wasn't really sure how to react to all of this positive feedback. The poison pin Pokémon just stayed silent for now, as Venom turned back to Anthony, answering his question from before. "My training style? Hmmm...Its a bit hard to describe in just a few words, but I guess the best way to put it would be working to overcome weaknesses. You see, the goal of my team, Team Toxic, is to prove to the world that Poison type Pokémon are the strongest type of Pokémon there is. To do that, facing Pokémon like Psychic and Ground types and beating them is necessary, but mostly Steel types."

Upon mentioning Steel type Pokémon to Anthony, Venom clenched his fists tightly, and his eyes turned to serpent-like eyes, as he started to sound mildly angry. "Growing up in Fuchsia City, Ive seen too many people beat the gym leader there with Steel types, and many of them have said that Poison types are no match for Steel types. Well I wont stand for that. One day, Ill earn myself a spot in the Elite 4, and Ill do it with Poison types, and only Poison types. And from that day on, me and my Poison type Pokémon will never be defeated by Steel types, and the world will know the true power of the Poison type." As his explanation ended, Venom slowly calmed down, his eyes turning back to normal. "Im sorry you had to see that side of me, but I hope that's a good enough answer for you."

Not long after that, Venom also decided to give Anthony some notes about his Machop, and the battle he just witnessed from it. "By the way, you really do need to train your Machop a little more. You gave him almost no orders during that battle, and look what happened. Granted, Im happy my Nidoran won, but it shouldn't have been that easy for us. Even if Poison types have an edge over Fighting types." The ninja's focused then turned once more, as he heard the call of his displeased Salandit. "Sala?! Sala! Salandit!" Needless to say, the toxic lizard Pokémon was not at all pleased when Geodude flipped one of the food bowls over, as she yelled at the Rock/Ground type, then yelled to Nidoran, telling him to knock Geodude's block off for her. Upon hearing Geodude's challenge, Nidoran's short break was over, as he turned to the angered rock Pokémon.

This whole scene made Venom sigh, his eyes half open, adding one more thing onto his previous statement. "Perhaps your Geodude requires some additional training as well. No matter. Think you can go around one more time Nidoran?" Instead of answering his trainer, Nidoran glared at Geodude, not looking bothered by the slight damage he took in his battle with Machop at all. "Nido! Nidoran! Nido!" There was a fire in Nidoran's eyes, and it did well to raise Venom's own spirits too. "Good attitude Nidoran. Just be careful of your leg. One battle alone wont heal it completely. Even so, I know you can handle this! You have an advantage over Geodude too! Use Double Kick!" Nidoran was starting to get used to Venom's orders, so he quickly made sure he wasn't putting too much pressure on his leg, then ran straight for his new opponent. "Nido! Nido!" Just before reaching Geodude, Nidoran jumped into the air, and brought his hind legs down right between Geodude's eyes, using his best Double Kick attack.
