Bulbasaur wasted no time, starting off determined and confident in her plan. But the stubby legged pokémon didn't inspire fear in the approaching spinda. Whirling in an expertly crafted drunken dance, Bulbasaur would find it quite difficult to predict where the opposing panda was going to go next. Though, there was a simple solution to such a problem. While Spinda took its sweet time zigzagging in uneven intervals across the hillside the grass type launched a calculated mine field covering a large area before her. To her chagrin however, the crafty spotted bear would somehow manage to step around all of them as it spun its way closer. Spinda would suddenly increase speed. The erratic two-step shifting into a rush of skips that brought the normal type into range for its own attack with an unpredictable speed. Bulbasaur's mind became a whir of counters. Having just disobeyed Greysen she couldn't afford her move to be ineffective. The seed pokémon lurched forward. Acting half in instinct and half on a rudimentary idea pulling at the back of her mind she forsook all of her defenses to meet the incoming tackle with a butt of her own. It wasn't enough force to do damage to the fuzzy bear, and only added to her own pain as Spinda whammed straight into the stout bulbasaur, but it did knock her opponent back. Spinda was thrown off-balance. Unable to catch its footing it rolled head over heals across the field of seeds Bulbasaur had laid a moment ago. Before it could recover to its usual standing stumble Spinda was well covered in the sapping seeds, sucking some of its stamina and transferring it to the dazed bulbasaur. After the exchange Sentret huffed, standing up on his tail with his tiny fists pumped. He squeaked another set of incomprehensible noises, but the tone was clearly mocking. Spinda returned a growl. It shook its head and spat more confidence back in the face of Sentret and his new friends. THE HEART 0551 WORDS ■ @tag ■ Busy May for me
OF CHAMPION Greysen's eyes went wide as his first pick pulled off a completely new move out of nowhere. He clapped the back of his left hand onto his right in excitement. "Goddarn, why don't you tell me when you learn a new move? We gotta share stuffs like that." The Bulbasaur looked back at him in disbelief. Really? You barely look at me. We can't communicate through words. How can I really tell you?
Greysen also saw the Sentret cheering for them right now, which was cool. It once again took him back to his baseball playing time, when he was on the bench cheering for his team. The Sentret would fit well into the team. He wanted to talk to him more but there's a battle still going on.
"Alright, whatever that new move you have, use it again." This pulled the Bulbasaur's attention back to Greysen once again. A little bit annoyed by making herself turning her body rapidly in the few seconds, she let out a low growl as she shook her head to try to convince the trainer that would not be a good idea. The target has already been covered with seeds by this point and a greater amount would not achieve much. "Huh, you saying it's not needed, or you can't use it again so soon?" Greysen quickly went through the film room in his brain as he tried to find an answer himself. He has seen a ton of Pokemon battles on TV and live in the stadium when he was pondering the career. After all, he's a man of retirement age with a lot of free time and money to spend. That move could be something akin to a terrain move. He has seen other Pokemon laying rocks or poisonous surface on the ground. Perhaps one attempt was more than enough? He never saw the supposingly higher tier trainers asked the Pokemon to keep using those moves either, mostly using them early on for strategic purpose or to control the space on the battlefield.
"Okay then, let's go for the usual then." He kept it subtle, not wanting the opponent to know his plan. The one issue for now was how could the Bulbasaur connect with the Tackle. The opponent was super slippery and unpredictable and no pattern could be drawn from its steps. He did not know the effect of the Bulbasaur's move, but he figured it would be something that wear down the opponent -- so, a longer match would benefit the Bulbasaur. The Spinda also showed no ranged attack so far, which mean it has to attack eventually and it has to come in. "But be more patient this time. Your opponent might look it can't find its step, but it knows what it's doing. You have to keep calm and keep your eyes on it, let it approach you and strike when you sees an opening, don't just blindly attack." He hoped the Bulbasaur got his command thoroughly but he was not very confident. This was just their second battle and he still has no grasp of a Pokemon's typical IQ level at this point. "Just stay still for now until you can strike back." He added, to make it more clear that he wanted the Bulbasaur to wait and counter.

It was good that the spinda was wrapped rather tight in Bulbasaur's leech seeds as it gave Greysen and his pokemon time to talk and figure out how to work together, it was usually not a thing the spinda let its opponent do. Of course it wasn't used to battle trained pokemon who spent time agreeing on their tactics but it was used to battle wild pokemon and it didn't give them time to think much either if it could avoid it. The spinda rolled and trashed around until it had snapped enough of the leech seed's roots to get back up on its feet again. It began to pull off most of the roots of its body, while still wobbling back and forth, since its head also moved it was hard to see if it was glaring at Bulbasaur or not. It looked at a sprouted seed in its hand and if you didn't know it, it could almost look naively confused about what it was. If the spinda had heard Greysen's well disguised orders to Bulbasaur, it didn't show it. It snapped its head around to stare at the grass type and a smirk appeared on its face, then it suddenly stumbled forward and only avouded not to fall flat on its face by catching itself with its hands. As it straightened up again it had some of the ungerminated seeds in its hand and without warning hurled them at the surprised bulbasaur. They landed before Bulbasaur got a chance to dodge and quickly did their job and sprouted around her. The Spinda swirled around while laughing and then stumbled sideways like it was about to fall again. Since the spinda clearly wasn't going to get closer this time around, Bulbasaur had to choose between sitting and waiting and gettng sapped by its own attack, or to actually retaliate. When the spinda stumbled over some of the leech seed roots and fell on its stomach, Bulbasaur raced forward and slammed into the dizzy normal type. She was uncertain if she would feel any loss of energy but she only became a bit strengthened when the leech seed sapped the spinda and gave it back to her, perhaps the move didn't work on her? It looked like the spinda stil thought it had leveled the battlefield. THE HEART 0461 WORDS ■ STILL buSY BUT KEEP GOING
OF CHAMPION Greysen was quite amazed by the the Bulbasaur's new attack so far. Either the Bulbasaur was much stronger than she previously looked or the fertile ground was supporting her without his awareness of that fact. The man was willing to keep the Spinda hot and bothered throughout the whole affair. "Not feeling so good now, huh, little Spinda?" The Sentret, who obviously hated the heck out of this little homewrecker, was mocking the Spinda alongside Greysen as well with the most punchable laughter he could muster.
To Greysen's surprise, the Spinda did not go down without a fight. It even pulled some seeds off and threw them back at the Bulbasaur! The Bulbasaur made an instinctive decision to just charge ahead and Tackle the Spinda while it was still trapped in her zone of deadly roots, which grew to be like very tiny, whippy vines along that portion of the ground at this point. "Okay, that's a good call! I say we keep up with the pressure if you are feeling okay about it."
The Bulbasaur turned back and said gave her trainer a very firm nod. She's as good as it could be. She was feeling as energized as well even with the planted seeds, who grew much faster than the Spinda's as Bulbasaur was able to absorb the life energy out of the Spinda to nurture hers and also the fact that she was a Grass type. But did they do any harm to her? No. She was quite positive she could be in a contest and used this move on herself to become some sort of "root monster" and that would not take a toll on her stamina in any way.
Greysen pondered for a moment, but figured out Pokemon of the same type generally were not afraid of the moves of the same type. They could do damage, but only minimally. At the same time, the root looked to be slowly absorbing the energy out of the Spinda, and Greysen has his heart set on capturing the Spinda, so he has to act right now. "Alright Bulbasaur, I want you to keep that Spinda inside the root zone. Just circle around it and kept it as center to it as possible. If it charges at you, don't panic, hold firm like a wall."
Greysen took a Pokeball out of his bag as he moved closer to a better position. He would be shooting for a straight fastball here. The plan was to wait for the Spinda to do a move out of desperation - like it has to eventually - and threw the ball right when Spinda has a moment where it was static, like when it was regaining its balance or if it ever slips on the root.

Spinda ignored the taunting from the man and the puny sentret as it pulled itself loose from the tangling roots, their time would come like it did with everyone it faced. Even Bulbasaurs tackle didn't seem to worry it even though it was sent rolling into the roots that instantly tried to get hold of it again. It got back on its feet and grinned as it wobbled in its unbalanced state. "You need more than that to keep me down," it taunted with a grin and then pointed at Sentret before it stumbled around so it ended with the back to its opponents. It acted like it was certain it was going to win this battle and that it planned on going after Sentret when it had taken care of Bulbasaur. It ignored Greysen thoroughly as like he wasn't a part of this at all and therefore didn't noticed he threw the pokeball at it. As it wobbled around it was hard to say if it even kept an eye on Bulbasaur who was circling it to keep it in place. It disappeared in a flash and the ball fell down into the roots and began to wiggle. It wiggled left... It wiggled right.. It snapped open and the Spinda stumbled out! Even for at spinda it looked quite confused like it hadn't understood what had happened. It wobbled a bit in place and then suddenly stumble-fell into Bulbasaur sending her sliding back a bit. It had hurt but the energy she got through the roots took the top of it and made it much more bearable. The spinda stumbled backwards again and might look suspiciously at Bulbasaur, or it might just be confused from what had happened. As it got close to where it had escaped he pokeball it wobbled around in a little circle before it with a surprisngly precise slap with a hand sent the broken pokeball flying at Bulbasaur. The pokeball broke in two and landed harmlessly on either side of the grass type and the spinda stood swaving like a drunk and looked just as dumbfounded. Then it suddenly staggered a lot to the left as if it had almost lost it balance and had to fight to keep standing. THE HEART 0237 WORDS ■ Short post, was expecting a successful capture
OF CHAMPION Oh come on, these Pokeball are trash! Greysen cursed as the Pokemon popped its way out of the Pokeball. Worst of all, that thing used the Pokeball as a weapon and sling it right at the Bulbasaur and completely destroyed the invention into pieces. Well, screw that Pokeball, it got what it deserved! It was his money but hey, he's got more than enough money to get more of those.
"Alright Bulbasaur, same idea, you keep that thing inside the zone and hopefully your seed or root thing does not expire." Greysen understands those things are merely skills, or moves that won't last forever. Pokemon are great, but they are not going to create Mother Nature on their own. Nature is a much stronger and higher force. Time's off the essence, and Greysen threw another fastball right at the Spinda, not wanting to wait any longer. He saw that Pokemon was clearly slowing down and decided to take his chance before that thing could get a hold of the situation.
On the ignored sideline, the Sentret continued to watch the match like a true boss on his high tail, literally. "Oh, there are more to come for you! You are going down right for sure, home thief!" The Sentret yelled at the Spinda standing straight up and have his tail completely straighten up, as if to show that he was indeed on the moral high ground here!

The spinda didn't get time to regain its balance from it stumbling and Bulbasaur barely didn't get to move at all before Greysen had flung another pokeball and hit the spinda spot on like the expert he was. Once again it disappeared in a flash of light and disappeared rolling into the roots that Bulbasaur had spread. A tense silence filled the air as they intently watched the It wiggled left... It wiggled... DING!As on cue a lightening split the sky and a deafening thunder followed, that was close! A few drops began to fall and slowly it would grow more steady, with an occasional rumble of thunder heard in the distance. Sentret would be thrilled with the outcome at first, he had gotten help to get rid of that dumb spinda and got his paradise home back! He couldn't wait until he could enjoy sunning in the afternoon while nipping at a berry and just relax. Then he remembered he was caught himself and probably wasn't going to stay here, and even worse, the spinda had joined on the trip! He had been successful in getting his home freed from the Spinda's paws but at what price? It didn't look like he would get a chance to enjoy it one bit. Bulbasaur would sigh relieved, she had succeeded and that was two successful battles which meant she only had 98 left to go. If she continued in this rate it would only take about two moons to prove herself, and it began to feel a bit more doable, this task that Greysen had given her. By the time Greysen got spinda's pokeball in his hands the rain was drumming down hard and threatened to soak him through and through. Bulbasaur has won her second battle! She grows to levels to lvl 9 and learns Vine Whip! THE HEART 0535 WORDS ■ @tag ■ SMALL NOTE
OF CHAMPION "Now that's what I am talking about!" Greysen certainly did not hold anything back with his emotion, shouting at the top of his lung for a simple capture on the first route. "Sentret, come. As a teammate, you need to celebrate your teammate's achivement with them." With a full mixture of emotion, the Sentret followed his so-called "owner" toward his so-called "teammate". The Sentret did not know how to make of all of these. Maybe he should have not pissed off this man earlu on? But how could he not be pissed off?! That dude just butted into his territory! The Sentret sighed, what a day and a complete change of his life. He threw a sharp glance at the Pokeball on the ground, feeling like his life has just gotten worst and worst.
"Good job again, Bulbasaur. Don't get cocky just yet because this is only the beginning of the journey but, so far so good." Greysen knelt just before Bulbasaur once again as he gave his approval to his starter who only had a brief moment to be happy and relax. Despite the incoming rain and water being the source of life, his seeds and the roots had all dispersed into the ground. They were merely Grass energy and would not live longer than the Bulbasaur was willing to expand her energy on them. Now that the Grass Pokemon was confident in her ability to control her Vine Whip, she extended them to give Greysen a high five. He did mention that she has to tell him when she ever had something new, and this move was easy to show. Bulbasaur learnt about high five from the lab. They were the only human she lived with for a long time and she saw them doing that in many celebrations.
"Ah interesting, you know how to high five." Greysen gave the Pokemon a good tap and the Sentret hesistantly followed suit. The Sentret was not sure what's that all about, but better to be safe than sorry knowing that he has a stern owner. "Are you freaking kidding me? This weather is all over the place, so much for a morning. Alright, Sentret, if you have things to get, you better get them now from your home now. We will be moving real soon." And that freaking Pokemon better have something he wanted from his home! Greysen was not a fan of liar and never will be.
While he let his Pokemon have some time on their own, he picked up the captured Spinda's Pokeball and put it into his bag. The introduction of that could come much later on. The thunderstorm came very fast after the first drop of rain and Greysen has to rummage his bag for his rain jacket. In the young day, he would not give a crap about the rain. Sure, baseball was never played in the rain, but he was always proud of his health and fearlessness on raining. Now, at a retirement age, not so much. He has to adapt to his life, whether he liked it or not. He expected the Sentret to have whatever he need packing by the time his suit up.
[Spinda is a male and will have Tangled Feet, too fitting for the encounter to not give him that. I will decide on the others later on.]

It was a bit hard for Sentret to bring what he had wanted from here, since it was the place, his home. He had hoped that Greysen could help beat the mean spinda that had taken it from him, but he had forgotten that he wasn't going to stay here. This was the best place in the whole forest! Fresh water right outside, a cozy den, sunshine most of the day when it was out, and shade if it was too hot. It even was placed so that it was sheltered from most of the strong winds in the autumn, not that Sentret had had it that long to have experienced it, but he had been so thrilled when he had managed to get it. He crawled into the den that was soft and nether too cold or too hot, he checked the storage room but the spinda had eaten all the berries he had collected, so he was empty handed when he had to join his trainer again. The cloudburst was strong and both Bulbasaur and Sentret got soaked, where Greysen managed to get his raincoat out and on more or less in time. When he was done the rain stopped and the sun even broke through the clouds and every blade of grass sparkled with raindrops. Nothing would happen before they left the area, and when they were out of the way a pair of rattatas sneaked in to claim the little paradise as their own, now the former owners were gone. They would trek a little while before they came across a couple of birds in a tree that was squabbling. "I got her first! Admit that I'm the fastest!" One of them squawked to the other. "It was only because I got surprised by that lightening," the other one said more calmly and the first puffed out its feathers offended. "You just say that because you lost! You never accepts any of my winnings!" The first one protested hotly while its rival looked around in an attempt to find something to distract it with. "Look a human! I bet that I can beat his pokemon faster than you can!" The calm one challenged and dived down towards Greysen before the other really got a chance to accept or not. "I'm challenging you to a battle!" The calmer one decklared confidently as it landed in the path of Greysen and his pokemon, the other rushed down and almost lost its balance as it landed before the first. "No! I'm challenging you! I can win this fist!" It squawked desperately as it would not win the battle first if it had to wait for its rival to battle them first. The rival spearows [lvl 3] and [lvl 7] are both challenging you to a battle to show whose the best! What do you do?Shiny? bmLl7fZN1-421-421-42·1-42

THE HEART 0772 WORDS ■ @tag ■ SMALL NOTE
OF CHAMPION The Sentret surely took his time at his little den, knowing that it was the last time he would ever be there. Never has he ever imagined how life with a human owner would go. He highly doubted he would get his own room and such, and the ball, oh my, the ball was so boring. It was just a pitch black space. Sure, he could feel he's safe inside there but he could not move or do anything he wanted, it's merely a black space that held him there until he was out of it. Well, he has no choice now. The Sentret was smart enough to take some of the leftover scrub of his berries to show to Greysen, in case he got angry for him getting nothing from the den.
"Oh my Arceus, are you kidding me?!" Apparently, the thunderstorm came and go and the rain were merely brought there by the wind. Somewhere distant away must be in one heck of a thunderstorm right now but he was merely on the very outskirt of it. "Alright, time to move. Sentret, you lead the front, scouting duty." He said angrily as he tried to take his raincoat off, but decided to leave it on half way through. He figured the storm might strike again eventually, might as well have the coat on for now. He let his head out in the open air and only doubling down on the body clothing. The morning was still warm enough for him to do so. In his anger, he did not check the Sentret at all and the Pokemon was left off easily. The relief was brief though, as the Sentret went back to alert mode as he scouted ahead.
The Sentret did not receive any order of direction so he just led them forward in the forest. He figured the man would want to go back to the road eventually, but a little walk on the side would not hurt anyone. He has lived here for quite a while and there's not a lot of dangerous Pokemon in the area as far as he saw. He stayed here mainly for that exact reason. Like a typical Sentret, he was not far from the bravest or valiantest. He took life as it came and he was pretty chilled...except today -- and look how that got him! He was not chilled for a moment and he has now became a trainer Pokemon. That was just not cool!
In the middle of his thoughts, he heard sounds from above. Before he could warn the trainer though, two Spearows have already landed right in front of him. The Sentret backed a little out of instinct. In this moment, no matter how uncool it was, sticking to the human seemed to be the best idea. "Interesting, if you two are blocking the road, I assumed you two are challenging me." Greysen said with a smirk. He would take any challenge, at any time of the day. The Bulbasaur went back to her quiet self as she trekked alongside the little group, but got excited as soon as she saw another opponent and another battle opporturnity!
However, these two were birds, Flying type, and that kept the Bulbasaur from being too happy. Pokemon ain't stupid, they knew their weaknesses, even urban-born one like her knew that innately. The Sentret has seen Spearows before but never really bothered with them. He was not their prey and he did not eat them either, so they were neutral against each others usually. "Well, there's two of you and two of mine, let's fight double!" Clearly Greysen did not understand the Spearows were rival. He took them as two friends challenging him together. "Alright, Bulbasaur and Sentret, you both are up. Let's lay the field down." Greysen has been an athlete long enough to understand the importance of setup. Pitchers have a lot of setup too and handling a batter is both a mental and physical challenge. Going for the different areas and using different pitches early on to setup the final strike was a common thing to do. "Bulbasaur, use the attack you did against the Spinda just now; Sentret, keep your partner safe from any disruption and attack anyone who gets near. Make sure you stays in front." The Sentret hissed at the command, like why does he have to be on the front of all thing? The Bulbasaur was obviously happy with that command now that he has someone covering her from the Flying birds and started to gather her Grass energy right away. The battle's on!

The calm one of the two watched Greysen giving his order and his pokemon following them intently, this was not its first battle against a human and it knew it had to be aware. But it assumed that it would be a fairly easy one now they had the advantage over the stronger of the two of the trainer's pokemon. Seemed like Greysen was thinking that as well as he wanted Bulbasaur to keep her distance which only made the calmer spearow smirk. That might work against a earth bound pokemon but a flying one like itself and its rival it wouldn't hinder much as they would just fly above. It wasn't going to take any chances though and growled threateningly which both Sentret and Bulbasaur did their best to ignore. Bulbasaur would have to make a choice here, she knew which move to use but not on which target Greysen thought would be the best. The impatient spearow made the choice easy for her, it was by far the easiest to hit and made it hard to aim at the spearow that growled at them. The seeds hit their mark but the hotheaded spearow didn't seem to care and the roots that sprouted around it did nothing to hinder its beating wings. "I'm fastest here too!" It triumphed which the other didn't answered. The attacking spearow had no problem going straight at the first available target so it was easy this time for Sentret to do as ordered. The spearow squawked a battle cry as it charged Sentret and attacked with its beak. Sentret did his best to fight back and sent feathers flying into the air. The energetic spearow withdraw a bit from Sentret who was full of feathers himself, but the bird had its attention at its rival. "Too afraid?" It mocked and the other bird rolled its eyes. "I'm not, and you'll see I take them down all by myself!" The hotheaded spearow boasted and the other looked annoyed. THE HEART 0212 WORDS ■ @tag ■ SMALL NOTE
OF CHAMPION This is more like it! Greysen has to admit, double battle was far more exciting than single. Between the more intense and rapid exchanges between all Pokemon, the display of teamwork was what he enjoyed seeing the most. The Sentret, obviously, has a different opinion on that -- like he always did. The Pokemon took the exchange and fought back valiantly but still, he disliked being on the frontline. I really need to learn a long range attack, and not die before that. The Pokemon did stay in front though, he was asked to do that regardless of his feeling.
The Bulbasaur has her mind on winning the third battle this whole time. She was expecting two was it for the day but three, now she was on the fast track. Maybe if there were five battles per day, she would be able to finish her mission in twenty days. Or around thirty if she were to lose some, which her owner said was to be expected. "So far so good, let's try some new moves. Bulbasaur, catch the one we are attacking with your vine and bring it down. Catch and slam; simplying bashing it on the head, it doesn't matter, just get it done. Sentret, hit that thing when it's grounded."

It was easy for Bulbasaur to get hold of the hotheaded spearow as it had most of its focus on its rival. "Do you admit now that I'm the better of us two?" The smaller one demanded and the calm one shook its head. "You should keep your eyes on the one you are battling," it adviced and the smaller one puffed out its feather outraged and stated that the other had no right to tell what it should do. Its complains got cut short as Bulbasaur's vines wrapped around it and pulled it to the ground, it squawked and struggled against the capture but to no avail. The other spearow sprung forward and shot into the air with a few powerful wing beats. When it was above Bulbasaur it spun around and dived directly at the grass type, the angle would make it difficult for Sentret to act as a shield, just as it had predicted. Not that Sentret tried as it had been ordered to focus on the other spearow which left the calculating one to its own, a chance it was not going to slip out of its claws. The ferocious attack of Bulbasaur's bulb from the spearow's sharp beak forced her to let go and try defend herself, but the moment she changed the focus the spearow withdraw to a safe distance. The other spearow threw out its wings defiant to throw off the vines and it glared triumphantly at Sentret as he came running. "No-one can hold me captured!" It declared and pecked Sentret hard in the forehead when he got close. Sentret retaliated by scratching but he barely had to touch it before it collapsed in front of him and was out cold. "Finally a bit of quietness," the other spearow commented although it did not celebrate the loss of an ally. They might not have had a good team work and it had found the other one annoying at best, but it would be a challenge to face off two opponents alone and it would have to be really careful if it wanted to avoid the same fate as its kin. It felt confident that it stood a fair chance though. Weather: ClearSpearow | Level 3 | HP: 0% (0/16)Status: Fainted(spd 10) Used Peck!
