All of Ratatta's shouting did well to make Heracross flinch a bit, as his nerves got the better of him for a moment, but only for a moment. This ended once Shinya stepped in, looking down at the rat Pokémon with an annoyed glare, clearly not at all amused by its tone or attitude. "Shut up ya filthy rat, or your next opponent will be me! And Ill do some damage ya wont walk away from!" Shinya couldn't understand Pokémon speech, and he knew that when it came to Pokémon like this wild Ratatta, the reverse was true more often then not, but Shinya didn't care one bit. It made him feel better to say these things out loud, rather then just stand there quietly, letting the wild Pokémon he and his Pokémon faced throw off insults and threats of their own. Besides, no one threatened Shinya's Pokémon, except Shinya.
After hearing the words spoken by both Shinya and Ratatta, Heracross finally understood the meaning of the phrase "Between a rock and a hard place", and he learned this the hard way for sure. The Bug/Fighting type Pokémon was very nervous for sure, but he didn't dare to step in, too afraid of what might happen if he did. Thankfully, he knew that this conflict wouldn't last much longer, as it was plain as day that Ratatta could barely stay standing by this point, much less take another of Heracross' attacks. And just like that, Shinya made his next order, snapping Heracross out of his nervous trance. "Go shut this rat up for good Heracross. Use Horn Attack again, and make sure it doesn't get back up this time!" Heracross let out a small sigh before attacking, fully expecting his trainer to say something like that. "Hera...Heracro!" Heracross kind of hated that he was getting used to Shinya's attitude and mannerisms, but he still did as he was told, powering up his horn, and flying straight at the wild Normal type one more time.

The rodent squeaked angrily back at the trainer. Why did the human have to go and ruin everything! Its short purple fur bristled as it took on an even more intimidating look. That was about all it could do really. This beetle was much tougher than the menacing looking bug before him and Rattata could feel the strength leaving its limbs. Winning over Heracross through fear was its only chance to steal away that extra food. As Heracross primed his horn the rat bowed down and extended its tiny claws. Tail arched above its head, ears back, eyes wild and dangerous, buck tooth looking ready to chomp down and bite clean through anything... It pulled out all the stops. But Shinya's influence was the stronger. With his weapon brimming with energy he buzzed forward. The hum of membrane wings signaled the end of the fight. Heracross' horn jabbed into Rattata's foreleg and slipped under it, accompanied with another thrust by the bug Rattata was flipped over Heracross' back and left dazed on the ground. VICTORY!
Heracross grew to LV 8! He would like to learn Feint; forget an old move? Pinsir grew to LV 2! Rattata can also be caught due to the new trainer protection rule! Though I doubt Shinya wants it ;) [img src="https://play.pokemonshowdown.com/sprites/bw/rattata.png"] [b]Rattata[/b] Gender: [Choose] Level: 5 OT: Shinya Stinger Moves: Tackle, Tail Whip, Quick Attack Ability: Run Away OR Guts Nature/Personality: [Choose]

As soon as Ratatta hit the ground, Shinya grinned down at the defeated Normal type, letting out some smug laughter. "See? Now that's how ya do it. Good job Heracross. Though hopefully next time your services wont be needed." Shinya gave his Pokémon some praise, and Heracross accepted it, breathing a sigh of relief. More then anything else, Heracross was just happy to have Shinya in a good mood, given that he was forced to switch Pokémon in the middle of a training battle again. "Hera? Heracro?" The single horn Pokémon questioned his trainer, wondering what their next course of action would be. Shinya took one more moment to grin down at the defeated rat Pokémon, admiring his and his Pokémon's handy work, then gave his Pokémon an answer.
"Well, Im still waiting on another new Pokémon from a different contact right now, so while we wait for them to show up, I think we should whip these new recruits we've already got into shape. As it stands, both Pinsir and Wurmple are weak, needing you to bail them out when things get tough, or not so tough." The Team Skull grunt commented, looking down at the defeated Ratatta one more time, not viewing the small Pokémon as a decent challenge even in the least. "So get comfortable Heracross, because it looks like we're gonna be here for a while." Shinya told his Pokémon, then recalled the Bug/Fighting type back to his Poke Ball. After that, Shinya turned, and headed into the trees, searching for yet another wild Pokémon or trainer he could use to train his new Pokémon. The facial expression Shinya wore made it look like he didn't really care who he fought next, as long as it was someone that one of his new recruits could beat on their own.
OOC: And your right, Shinya will pass on capturing this wild Pokémon. Also, I would like to teach Heracross Feint. Make it in place of Leer please. Thank you.

Shinya barely reached the closest tree before sounds of movements caught his attention, something was shuffling around and tried to be quiet, and failing badly. When it was clear for the one hiding that he was discovered he warily made his way out of a prickly bush, it had left him with a lot of scratches but he didn't look like it bothered him. By the look it would be clearly to Shinya that this boy shared his interest for byg types, a weedle also sat on the boy's shoulder and it's eyes were shining by excitement. "He- hello," The boy said quietly and looked like he was ready to run at anything, he might have heard some of what Shinya had said earlier. "You are really good with your pokemon Mister," the boy said tentatively and the unspoken please don't hurt me hang in the air between them while the boy looked almost pleadingly at the scary looking member of Team Skull. "We-weedle!" his pokemon said eagerly and jumped down from the boy's shoulder to crawl forward, the weedle looked expectantly at Shinya and turned his head to look impatiently at his trainer when the boy kept quiet. The bugcatcher gulped nervously but managed to croak: "you are a trainer, do you want to battle?"The weedle looked excitedly at Shinya while they waited for his answer. "Careful Sting," the boy added and Sting dismissed it with a flick of his tail, he was ready to face this strong bug type trainer and learn a lot from it. "Oh, that's right, I'm Don by the way. So we both likes bug types, huh?" The boy presented himself and tried to get Shinya to be on his side and like him, if he did Shinya hopefully wouldn't try anything scary. Bugcatcher Don is awed and a bit hesitant as he challenges Shinya to a battle. His weedle Sting [lvl 3] has much more confidence as it crawls forward.

Shinya stopped as soon as he heard these sounds from nearby, and narrowed his eyes, waiting for whoever or whatever it was to show itself. Shinya lowered his guard as soon as the younger trainer and his Weedle appeared, clearly not at all afraid or threatened by this pair. Straight away, Shinya could tell how scared this young bug catcher was, and it made the Team Skull grunt grin ear to ear, getting some rather devious ideas in his head. But before that, Shinya thought it best to let the younger trainer know just who he was dealing with. "The name's Shinya, kid. Shinya Stinger, not mister. Ya seem confused, so Ill tell ya. Im not just any trainer. Im the new leader of Team Skull, and Ive come to make sure that all of Johto knows it." Shinya looked down at Don as he spoke, looking him straight in the eye, doing his best to intimidate the already intimidated boy.
Shinya's attention then turned to Don's Weedle, as he watched the hairy Pokémon give his trainer order, which did well to make Shinya laugh a little. "Well, looks like your boneless bug has got more backbone then you kid. How sad. Still, I like a Bug type with a good spirit, so yeah. Sure. Ill take ya on, but if I win, then your gonna have to do somethin for me kid." Shinya said with another grin, deciding to save his terms for after the battle was over and done, as he reached into his bag to pull out one of his Poke Balls. "Yeah, I guess we do. My big bro specialized in Bug types too, and Im tryin my best to be just like him. Let me show ya what I mean. Pinsir, gimme a claw!" Shinya called out, tossing his Poke Ball into the air, letting Pinsir out for another battle. As soon as he materialized, the stag beetle Pokémon looked down at Don's Weedle, and gave him a threatening look of his own.
"Pin. Pinsir. Sir." Pinsir simply informed Weedle that this was going to hurt, a lot. Shinya took a few steps back from Don and Sting before the battle began, putting his hands into his pockets, figuring that he wont need them for this battle. "Time for you to learn what Team Skull is all about kid. Pinsir, show them no mercy. Feint Attack now!" Pinsir didn't have to be told twice about the "no mercy" part, as the pure Bug type Pokémon had absolutely no plans of going easy on anyone, especially not this trainer and Pokémon pair. "Pinsir!" Pinsir let out a battle cry, then vanished from sight to begin his attack, planning to strike Sting from the right side when the timing was right. Shinya laughed a bit more as he watched this, knowing that this was his first trainer battle since arriving in Johto, and therefore, his first real chance to show off what Team Skull was really made of.

Don swallowed and rubbed his neck in a failed attempt to act like he was less scared than he was. He did not dare to ask what Team Skull was but it sounded scary, he had heard the adults whisper about another team which name he couldn't remember, but it hadn't sounded as bad as skull. Don avoided looking straight at Shinya who had no problem intimidating the young boy, Shinya might have to be careful if he didn't want to chase off Don entirely, that would be easy. Don looked outright scared when Shinya wanted something in return for winning. "What do you want?" He dared to ask as he knew it was bad to agree to something you didn't know anything about. Had it been anyone else than Shinya he would have demanded and answer and something in return for if he won himself. But who knew what Shinya would do to him if he got angry? Don momentarily forgot his fear when pinsir was called out. "A pinsir! how cool!" He exclaimed, "I'm have been wishing for one of those for each of my birthdays! But mom has said I'm not ready for one yet," he then trailed off as he remembered who he was talking with. "Is, is your brother as good with bugs like Bugsy?" Don asked in an attempt to be on Shinya's good side. When Shinya gave his no mercy order, Don looked genuine scared and backed several steps. Sting looked completely unfaced and looked almost bored as Pinsir threatened him with pain. "Weedle" He said matter of factly as it told Pinsir that of course it was going to hurt, it was a battle after all. What else would Pinsir expect? Sting then proceed to warn Pinsir that he was not going to hold back. Pinsir was the fastest and Sting blinked surprised when the stag beetle pokemon disappeared out of sight only to slap him over the face. Sting twisted his tail around and stabbed Pinsir in the leg before he got to retreat, neither of the pokemon was badly injured as their strength was still low. Shinya grinned at his good work, as it was easy for him to see that his intimidation was working like a charm. Even if Don had tried to run away, Shinya wouldn't let him, so he decided to take it one step further. "Hey now, don't worry kid. Im not gonna hurt ya...much." Shinya let out a laugh after saying that, knowing that the line was a bit overplayed, but has always wanted to use it himself. He then listened to Don's question, and didn't need to think about it, as he already knew what he wanted from the younger trainer. "Not much really. Judging by your shaky knees, your too weak to join Team Skull, so how about this instead? If I win, I want you to spread the word about Team Skull's return to everyone you know. Tell your parents, your friends, your neighbors, and tell them to pass the word along too. Team Skull is back, and when Im done, we'll be better then ever before."
Shinya spoke in a confident, and slightly threatening tone, hoping to use the young trainer in front of him to spread the word of Team Skull's return, and maybe frighten the citizens of Johto a bit in the process. What was more, if word travelled to the right people, Shinya might score some new members for his team as well. Shinya's mental image was cut short though, as he heard Don speak up again, and watched the boy get excited over his newest Pokémon. "Your mom's right kid. Your not ready for a bruiser like this. Trust me on that one." The Team Skull grunt gestured to his Pinsir, offering Don a small piece of advice, though he wasn't really sure why he bothered. Don's next question was more then enough to catch Shinya's attention, as the trainer from Alola got his grin back almost immediately. "Oh yeah. My big bro is the best there is. We don't have gym leaders where I come from, and I don't know who this Bugsy guy is, but nobody can beat big bro Guzma, especially if its a battle of Bug types. Not a chance."
Shinya still didn't really know much of the world outside of the Alola region, but he knew one thing for sure. Guzma was the best there was when it came to Bug type Pokémon, at least that's how Shinya saw it. Meanwhile, Pinsir's glare intensified towards Sting, as the stag beetle Pokémon didn't appreciate the smaller Bug type's attitude one bit. "Pin. Pinsir. Pinsir." Pinsir kept his cool, and told Sting that he was going to enjoy pounding him into the dirt. That's when Shinya refocused his attention on the battle, and called out Pinsir's next order. "Don't let this pipsqueak get to ya Pinsir. Talk is cheap. Why don't you show it what I mean? Use Feint Attack again!" Pinsir was more then happy to oblige, keeping his glare focused on Sting, right up until he vanished again, just like he did before. Route 29 went silent after that, as Pinsir waited for the perfect moment to strike, making sure to do some serious damage this time around.

Don did not look like he believed that Shinya wouldn't hurt him if given the chance, and the added "yet" only confirmed him in that Shinya was a dangerous person. He had done right in trying to hide from him, although he had failed when the excitement of seeing what bug types he had, had gotten the better of him and he had crawled forward. The boy looked immensely relieved when Shinya told he just wanted him to spread the word about him, he had planned on doing that anyway. If he told the adults they would take care of it and get this scary man removed, right? that was what adult did, they kept the area safe for the kids and they kept telling him he should come to them if there was any troubles. Shinya definitely meant trouble, now don just needed to try to get away safely. Of course it wasn't certain his parents would believe what he said, sometimes they brushed it off as imaginations from him, and gratned sometimes it had been. Don forgot his fear momentarily as he looked wistfully at the pinsir. "One day," he murmured as he promised himself to get one of his own to train. He gaped when Shinya revealed that he didn't know Bugsy. "Where have you been living? Under a..." he stopped himself abruptly as he remembered who he was talking to. "I mean, Bugsy is the coolest there is! He is a gym leader and he specialized in bug types, they are really, really strong!" Don explained with shining eyes as he talked about his big idol. Don was in no way convinced that Shinya's big bro would stand a chance against Bugsy, although he was clever enough not to say that out loud. "You can do it Sting! Give it a poison sting again!" Don called his encouragements to his weedle, who readied for yet another round. This time he would be certain that Pinsir would feel it. The exchange of attacks looked a lot like the last, Pinsir rushed forward and surprised Sting yet again with where he attacked from. The weedle twisted his tail and managed to slam his stinger in between some of Pinsir's protecting armor and inject some of his poison. At first Pinsir didn't feel much different, the stab hadn't hurt much more than before, but slowly a burning sensation spread along the poison, starting there where it had been injected. As the battle progressed, Shinya found himself staring at the younger trainer, wondering what was on his mind. As he did, Shinya took a moment to admire his work, as it was very clear that he'd succeeded in intimidating the young bug catcher. Shinya figured that after this battle, the child would likely run home to his parents in fear, and that got Shinya thinking about his parents for a minute. Being that they died when he was still a newborn, he never really got to know them, and the few memories he had of them were vague at best. Admittedly, there had been several occasions when Shinya would go deep in thought, pondering what his life would be like had his parents been around to raise him, but those thoughts never lasted more then a few minutes. Team Skull was the only family Shinya had ever truly known, and as far as he was concerned, they were the only family he'd ever need.
Shinya snapped out of his thoughts when he heard Don start talking about Bugsy, and the more Don spoke, the more annoyed Shinya seemed to become. Don may not have said it, but Shinya could tell. This young bug catcher clearly thought that this Bugsy person was the greatest Bug type trainer there was, and Shinya didn't like that one bit. In fact, it made Shinya feel insulted. Like this child had just insulted Team Skull's leader, and to Shinya at least, that was the same as insulting Team Skull as a whole. The Team Skull grunt gave Don a very angry look at first, but then quickly calmed himself down, letting out a few small chuckles. "Is that so? He's that good, huh? Well, Ill just have to find him and see for myself then. Ill take great pleasure in destroying Bugsy, his Pokémon, and his gym. But before any of that, since you really ticked me off, Im gonna destroy you, kid."
Shinya gave the younger trainer another grin, a very devilish one, with an accompanying gaze that could make even a Gyarados hide at the bottom of the ocean in complete and total fear. Shinya then glanced at his Pokémon, able to see that Pinsir had been poisoned, but he made to attempt to grab an item from his bag to heal his Pokémon just yet. "Walk it off Pinsir. It doesn't hurt. There's no way a pair of pipsqueaks like these could get the better of us. We're Team Skull! Now lets show em what that means! Use Feint Attack again!" Based on the battle up to this point, Shinya knew that even with the poison inside his body, Pinsir could go one more round. Shinya planned to worry about healing Pinsir when and if he needed it later on, and despite the burning sensation coursing from the wound Sting had given him, Pinsir once again shared his trainer's feelings on the matter. "Pinsir! Pinsir! Pin!" Just like the last two rounds, Pinsir disappeared from view, waiting for his chance to strike at Sting.

Don at first didn't notice Shinya's reactions to his excitement about Bugsy. It had never occurred to him that it could be bothered the Team Skull member, or was he the leader now he was the only one left? The young boy was so caught up in his own awe of the gym leader that he didn't notice the glare that Shinya sent him, but the chuckle got through to him and he found it worrying. He nodded a bit hesitantly when Shinya asked for confirmation on Bugsy's greatness, Don was all happy just until the moment when Shinya talked about destroyed the gym leader. That made him frown in confusion. Why would Shinya ever do that? What would he get from it? If there was no gym leader, then you couldn't get a badge and go to the Pokemon League or challenge the Champion. It made no sense to him. He flinched and took several steps backwards when Shinya threatened him directly. His eyes flashed between Stinger and Shinya and looked like he thought about his chances to get away. "Why.. why do you want to destroy Bugsy?" He asked quivering, not daring to say that he thought it was impossible. He hoped his question could distract Shinya from wanting to destroy him. Stinger narrowed his eyes and then smiled smugly when he saw the results of the poison, he might win this. Pinsir was still the faster of the two although he clearly was more unsteady on his feet, the weedle waited for him and would retaliate like the last few rounds as soon as the other bug type came in close range. Neither pokemon looked well after their exchange, Stinger was breathing hard and looked really battered, while Pinsir was shivering from the poison and had a hard time keeping his balance. While it was true that Shinya was the last remaining member of Team Skull, he still didn't really consider himself the leader just yet. Shinya thought that it would look pretty lame if someone claiming to be the leader of a whole evil team would only have a newly hatched Heracross, Pinsir, and Wurmple on his team. Shinya's plan was to wait until he was at least close to his big bro's level before he would start calling himself the new leader of Team Skull, out of respect for his big bro of course. Shinya may be part of an evil team, but even he lived by some rules and moral codes. But one thing that was not in those rules was destroying anyone who got on his nerves, just as his big bro had taught him to do. Shinya was well aware that destroying a gym leader meant that no one would be able to obtain anymore badges from that gym leader, and therefore, wouldn't be able to advance onto the Pokémon league.
However, Shinya didn't care one bit about the plights and dilemmas of other trainers. Naturally, Shinya would be sure to grab a badge from said gym leader after destroying them, since destroying still included beating them in a battle of course. Sure, no one would be able to get anymore badges from that gym leader after Shinya, but as long as Shinya got one and was able to progress on his journey, that's all that mattered to him. The less competition, the better, is another thing Shinya was taught by his big bro. The Team Skull grunt got his devilish grin back when he heard Don's question, and he was quick to offer a response. "Its simple kid. Team Skull destroys anyone or anything we don't like, and from how you've been talkin about him, I don't like this Bugsy guy. Ill make an example out of him. Don't underestimate Team Skull."
With his answer given, Shinya turned back to the battle, and could see that one more attack would do the job. However, he could also see that one more round would also likely be just enough time for the poison to finish off his Pinsir. Shinya didn't particularly enjoy having to do what he was about to do, but he hated losing and draws even more. So, the Bug type trainer pulled a single Potion out of his bag, and used it on his Pinsir. "Sorry squirts, but this battle is ours." Shinya said with another grin, knowing that this would do well to stomp out any hopes of victory that were still floating around in Don's and Sting's minds. After being healed by the Potion, Pinsir shook his head, instantly feeling a lot better. "Pinsir! Pin!" The Bug type Pokémon was pumped up and ready for one more round, and Shinya was in much the same boat. "I think its about time we sent these two home. Finish em off with one more Feint Attack Pinsir, and make sure it hurts!" Pinsir obeyed, slipping out of sight once again, now full of energy, while Sting on the other hand was looking very worse for wear.
OOC: One Potion used on Pinsir before attacking.

If Shinya had declared himself as a leader with his current untrained pokemon team, he probably would have found himself in trouble fast. Either by police that came to stop him, although they still didn't have a reason to do anything else than be mildly suspicious at the time being, or from other gangs who wanted to get rid of any competitions before they grew too big. It was probably a good idea to keep low profile until he was strong enough to fight of most of what was sent his way. Don didn't look like he really understood why Shinya wanted to destroy Bugsy, but he didn't like the sound if it at all. He just wanted to get out of this situation and keep far away from Team Skull, they sounded almost as bad as Team Rocket. Had Don been older he would probably have asked himself if it would even be possible to destory Bugsy, or any gym leader, since beating them was what the goal for every trainer was, and there could be made new badges and buildings rebuilt. Even killing a gymleader might not be enough as others were certainly ready to stand up and take their place. Shinya would certainly be able to make some ruckus if he tried anything but if he really wanted to do some damage there would be plenty of very strong trainers, including the rest of the gym leaders and the Champion, who would become his enemies. Don wouldn't think that far though, he was just a child and he certainly didn't underestimated Shinya. If anything he overestimated him and clung to the hope that Shinya just wanted him to spread the word and that he would need to be able to run from their meeting to do so. He did not dare to ask how Shinya was going to make an example out of Bugsy, his imagination could easily come up with several ways, one more horrible than the other to a child. Where Don didn't seem to care much about winning the battle, Sting deflated when he saw the potion. He had been so close and he wasn't going to give up now. The moment Shinya stepped back after having used the potion, Sting sent another array of needles at Pinsir, they didn't do much this time around but the poison kept burning in the big bug's veins added to the damage. Sting tried to keep an eye on where Pinsir went but failed and was hit hard on the side and knocked out. Don swallowed hard and recalled the weedle, he hesitated a bit but the released a caterpie which yawned and looked around drowsily. "I need your help Apple, I want to go home," he whispered although loudly enough for Shinya to hear. Apple looked bored at Shinya and like he thought this was just a child's imagination running wild, surely there was nothing dangerous in these woods. Pinsir wins the battle and grows to lvl 5! He learns Bind! (he will have 17/23 HP if he stays to battle, he will still be poisoned) Weirdly enough Don hasn't run off yet and instead sends in Apple the caterpie [lvl 3] to continue the battle. Do you want to switch pokemon?(1 potion to be deducted)

Shinya knew very well that sooner or later, he'd have the police, other trainers, gym leaders, the champion, and possibly even Team Rocket after him, and any new members he manages to recruit along the way. He also knew that if he destroyed a gym leader, a new one would take his or her place, but that wasn't the point of Shinya's destruction. From the way Don was talking about him, Bugsy must've been pretty well known here in Johto, and Shinya knew that such a reputation couldn't possibly have been built up overnight. The way Shinya saw it, there were two possibilities that could occur after destroying a gym leader. One, Shinya would beat them in battle so badly that they'd retire in shame, or worse, then a new gym leader would take their place. However, this new gym leader would be basically a nobody, giving Shinya a clear head start in terms of building a reputation. Or two, the gym leader would keep their position, but given how famous they are, word would spread around Johto like wildfire, of a trainer that easily defeated said gym leader and gave them the beating of their lifetime.
It was a real win/win scenario in Shinya's eyes, and he didn't care who came after him and tried to stop him from rebuilding Team Skull. In fact, Shinya hoped that someone would try, just so he could show them that trying to stop Team Skull was a hopeless effort. Granted, Shinya knew that at his and his Pokémon's current levels, they were no match for the gym leaders, and especially not the champion, but Shinya managed to dodge the cops and powerful trainers back in Alola many times, and Johto would be no different. Shinya was fully prepared to wait it out and keep on training until he was finally strong enough to stand against anyone that came his way, while still spreading the word of Team Skull's return and recruiting any new trainer's to help out his cause along the way. Back in the battle, Shinya grinned at his Pinsir, as he watched him strike the final blow, and flatten the boy's smaller Bug type Pokémon. Still, Shinya could see that his own Pokémon was looking pretty tired, and the Team Skull grunt wasn't completely heartless, so he called Pinsir back to his Poke Ball for some down time.
"That wasn't too bad Pinsir. Take a break for now." Shinya put Pinsir's Poke Ball away, then watched as Don set out a second Pokémon to do battle. Just as Apple didn't look very impressed with Shinya, Shinya wasn't too impressed with Apple either. "Apple? Are you serious kid?" Shinya asked the other trainer in a mocking tone, even less impressed with the nickname he'd chosen for his Caterpie. Even so, Shinya was still very much in the game, as he reached for another of his Poke Balls. "Doesn't matter. Ill take this one down too. Your up Wurmple!" He tossed the sphere up into the air, sending his first real capture into battle for the first time. As soon as Wurmple appeared, she took a quick look around, until her eyes stopped on Don's Caterpie.
Wurmple didn't really understand why she'd been sent outside, so she gave Apple a happy expression, and a friendly greeting. "Wurmple. Wurmple. Wurm." Sadly, the moment was cut short by the sound of her trainer's voice, and he didn't sound very pleased with the way she'd been acting so far. "Knock off the pleasantries Wurmple! We're here to get stronger, and show off what Team Skull can do, not make friends!" Wurmple flinched when her trainer yelled at her, then she looked down, sad to have to fight right the bat, especially against a fellow worm Pokémon. "Good girl. Now go show that other worm who the better Bug type really is. Use your Tackle attack now!" Wurmple really didn't wish to cause harm to another worm Pokémon, but she knew from experience that disobeying Shinya's orders was a very bad idea. "Wurmple. Wurm." So, with a heavy heart, Wurmple crawled towards Apple as fast as her little legs could carry her, prepared to hit him with her strongest Tackle attack.
OOC: Shinya switches to Wurmple for this battle, and has her use Tackle.

To get the story of a beaten gym leader to spread like a wildfire, it really had to be out of the ordinary as that usually happened weekly. While gym leaders were strong and they beat hundreds of trainer every year, their sole job was to test and eventually be beaten by the said trainers, and that happened countless of times as well so simply beating a gym leader no matter how impressive would be hard to catch any interest. He could of course try to demolish the gym, that would probably become head news, but he should be certain that he could pull it off. It would take time and probably wasn't something you could just do single handedly without any plan, a gym was much more than just a leader standing alone and accepting challengers, he was a leader of something. Often they were teachers and had other things they were working with, with their chosen pokemon type and was Shinya ready to take on whatever there else could be at the gym unknowingly? Other feats might be easier, like taking down the Champion or the Elite Four, or a Legendary, if he could find any of them. They only required for him to be strong enough, of course destroying a gym leader would too, but it would be harder to know just how strong you would need to be to succeed. "He had eaten a giant apple when I found him, okay?" Mumbled Don embarrased, he probably had been teased about it before. "It is the only thing he wants to eat and I was young," he continued to defend himself without taking his eyes off his feet. Apple looked completely unfazed and like he didn't care what he was called, not as long as he got apples to eat at least. Don looked up curious when he heard Shinya saying the word 'wurmple' and his eyes shone.' "Where did you meet it? I have been looking for those for weeks now!" He said breathlessly and had for a moment forgotten his fear. Wurmple wasn't as scary looking as pinsir, she didn't look like she would cut Apple in half when the battle was over. "Cat-pii," answered Apple politely with a warm smile and looked tired at Shinya when he interrupted their conversation. Humans, always so rude and impatient. He looked pitying at her when Shinya yelled, it was never fun to have heartless trainers. "You too Apple! Give it a Tackle!" Don gasped and added mostly to himself, "this is perfect, we get better at battling wurmples and then I'm sure I'll catch one myself!""Piii," Apple said as he teased Wurmple with that he wasn't sure she was going to be the best of the two. Shinya might wanted to try make the battle a scary experience but Apple was not going take that into account, he could laugh with Wurmple anyway as long as they kept doing as their trainers ordered. Apple was a tad faster than Wurmple as they rushed towards each other, not that it made a big difference this time. They simply collided halfway and sprawled to the ground, it was hard to say who had been most effective, it certainly hadn't looked impressive. After a good several minutes or so with his inner monologue, Shinya shook his head from side to side, snapping himself out of it and trying to regain his sense. Who was he even arguing with? And for that matter, why? He didn't have anything to prove or justify to anyone. Certainly not a disembodied voice in his head, which was actually a bit of a creepy experience even for someone like Shinya. Sure, he'd always argued with people plenty of times in his life about this and that, but never with himself, and for so long. One thing was for sure though, Shinya wanted to end this battle as quickly as possible, and make the younger trainer before him run away. It was Don's words that left Shinya so deep in thought for the last several minutes, and the Team Skull grunt didn't like it one bit.
The bottom line was this. Shinya was who he was, he did what ever he felt like, and right now, he felt like finishing the younger trainer and his Pokémon off once and for all. However, before that, Shinya found himself chuckling at Don's response, and the way he reacted to Shinya's question. "What the heck? That is so lame. I don't do nicknames myself, but if I did, Id definitely pick some cooler nicknames then Apple, and for such a dumb reason. I mean, why don't I just name my Heracross Sap?" Shinya asked a rhetorical question, then chuckled a bit more, but he quickly stopped when he heard Don's sudden burst of excitement. Don's question made Shinya let out a sigh, as he couldn't believe that this kid was getting excited over a Wurmple of all Bug type Pokémon. "Easy kid. Try not to soil yourself. I found this Wurmple right here on route 29. Have you seriously been searching for one for weeks now? Their a pretty common Pokémon around here, aren't they? I don't even plan on keeping it on my team for my whole journey. Its just a place holder until I can find somethin better."
Shinya talked about it with far less enthusiasm then Don, like it was no big deal at all. True, Shinya knew that Wurmple could eventually evolve into Beautifly or Dustox, and while most trainers consider them to be good Pokémon for their teams, Shinya's thought process for choosing the Pokémon to be on his team was a bit different. He was looking for Bug type Pokémon that were tough, intimidating, and could crush other Pokémon into the dirt. Still, Shinya's words did do one thing very well. Make Wurmple start to cry. Her feelings were hurt by her trainer's words, saying that he never planned on keeping her around, as tears started to form in her eyes. "Wurmple…" Seeing this, Shinya let out another sigh, not moved by Wurmple sadness even a little. "That's exactly what Im talking about. There's no room in Team Skull for cry babies. Suck it up Wurmple! For the time being, your still a member of Team Skull, so act like it!"
Shinya raised his voice at the worm Pokémon once again, making her flinch and sniffle, doing her best to stay strong and fight through her hurt feelings. "Wurm. Wurmple. Wurm." Like most worm Pokémon, Wurmple wanted nothing more then to one day evolve to her final stage, what ever it would end up being for her, and take off into the sky on her new wings. She had no doubt that Shinya would do that much for her at least, but knowing that he would one day replace her with another Bug type would definitely make the whole experience rather bitter sweet for her. Shinya's glare returned with a vengeance a few seconds after that, as he began to get rather restless. "Im running out of patience. Use Tackle again Wurmple! Finish this trainer and his little worm off so we can move on!" Wurmple was still a bit on the emotional side, but she did her best to carry out her trainer's orders, starting to crawl as fast as she could towards Apple once again. "Wurmple! Wurm!" The small Bug type Pokémon yelled out an apology towards Apple as she crawled towards him, wishing that things didn't have to be this way.
OOC: It is kind of interesting. I can honestly say that Ive never had a role play quite like this one. Anyway, here's the first 600 words for my Yanma egg.
