Shinya couldn't help chuckling to himself when he saw how worked up the Scout Pokemon was getting over this, maintaining his grin as he did. Truth be told, Shinya did actually remember his previous encounter with this wild Sentret. How could he not? No one's memory was that bad. But if there was one thing Shinya loved, besides destroying those he didn't like, it was coaxing aggression out of others. Naturally, he knew that that was bad, but he didn't care one bit. In fact, that only made him enjoy it even more. The wild Sentret may have grown stronger since their last encounter, but unfortunately, it was still nowhere near strong enough for the Team Skull grunt to take it seriously.
Pinsir, on the other hand, wasn't as cool-headed as his trainer was and didn't take too kindly to Sentret's comment about his horns. "Pin! Pinsir! Pinsir! Sir! Sir!" The Stagbeetle Pokemon was quick to yell at the wild Normal type, pointing out that he actually had a trainer who fed him, treated him when he was injured, and helped train him to make his stronger. True, Sentret's attack did hurt Pinsir a bit. But just as he had done before, the Bug type shrugged it off, glaring at his opponent as he waited for his next opportunity to attack it. "Tch. Easy there, Pinsir. Don't go gettin' worked up over the desperate yapping of this small fry. It's not worth it. In fact, this weakling isn't even good enough to lick the dirt off the bottoms of our feet."
Shinya laughed a bit more after he finished speaking, as his words seemed to calm Pinsir down a little bit too. Even so, the fire in both the Bug type trainer and Pokemon's eyes was still burning brightly. These two were relentless, and if Sentret didn't learn that before, it was definitely gonna learn it now. "But ya know what? That actually does sound like it'd be fun to watch. Pinsir, make this uppity rat eat dirt! Hit it with another Feint Attack!" Having been given the order he was waiting for, Pinsir carried out Shinya's orders without a moment of hesitation. "Pinsir! Pin! Pin!" The Stagbeetle Pokemon vanished once again, preparing to strike Sentret yet again.

Sentret had no doubts that Pinsir was not going to hold back and that going full force was the only hope it had of getting out of a bad situation. The normal type could not dodge Feint Attack and Quick Attack did not do enough damage for it to be worth the effort. By the time it had decided to try and use Scratch in desperation it was far too late however as Pinsir was already charging forward like a Tauros in a China shop bearing down on Sentret. Seconds later there was a huge collision as Pinsir faked punching Sentret from the right before throwing a powerful punch from the left sending Sentret flying into a tree. The speed of the punch was more than usual however and the resulting CRITICAL HIT was just too much to endure as Sentret slid down the tree knocked out cold from the attack. It had no hope of escaping as it barely avoided breaking any of it's bones from the collision and the shock of the attack. Sentret would be out for some time as a result of the attack making it a very easy capture for Shinya or he could leave it be. Either way Pinsir felt quite a bit stronger after the dominant performance it had put on against a higher leveled Pokemon. After hitting his opponent with such a powerful strike and gaining so much new strength in just a few short moments, Pinsir was feeling better than ever, triumphantly flexing the claws on top of his head and shaking his fists in the air. "Pinsir! Pinsir!" The Stagbeetle Pokemon truly savored his victory over the Scout Pokemon, and even kicked some dirt at the wild Normal type while it was down. Shinya was feeling rather pleased with this result as well, grinning his usual grin in spite of his Pokemon's unsportsman-like behavior. Not that Shinya himself was any better, of course. "Outstanding work, Pinsir. Especially that last attack. I'll bet Sentret really felt that one."
The Team Skull grunt let out some laughter after that but made absolutely no attempt to capture the defeated Sentret. Not only was Sentret not a Bug type Pokemon, but Shinya also knew that without a trainer around to feed it, the wild Normal type would be forced to continue foraging for food on its own. And based on how hungry it was during the two times it crossed paths with him, Shinya knew that that was definitely easier said than done. So, even though most people would view it as cruel, Shinya completely ignored the unconscious Pokemon and grabbed Pinsir's Poke Ball from his bag instead. "We're done here, Pinsir. Return." Shinya called Pinsir back to his Poke Ball, giving him the rest he deserved after another victory.
Then, after placing Pinsir's Poke Ball back into his bag, the Bug type trainer brought his hand to his mouth and let out a yawn, losing his grin in the process. He then looked up at the sun, which was mostly covered by the numerous trees present on route 29, doing some thinking as he did. Shinya then faced the path ahead of him, and began to speak to himself out loud. "This place is gettin' boring. I think it's about time to move onto some new and hopefully more entertaining territory." The Team Skull grunt put his hands into his pockets and began to make his way towards Cherrygrove City, hoping to encounter some more interesting people and Pokemon there. However, little did he know that his wish was about to be granted right then and there on route 29.
OOC: I'd like to request a Silver encounter please.

The bright ball of burning gas hung high in the bright blue skies. Few clouds decorated the heavens above, with most of them being small, wispy cirrus and cirrocumulus formations. The temperatures only climbed higher into triple digits as the summer sun scorched the land beneath. Many of the wild Pokemon rushed off, leaving the surrounding route strangely empty and devoid. Some small purple rodents could be seen near a small creek, hungrily lapping up the traveling waters with their salmon colored tongues. Most of the birds had flown up into the canopies above as they tried to shelter in their nests. Another boy wandered down the route, dragging a small blue Totodile that was tied up with a long chord. The chord was wrapped snugly around the blue crocodile’s stomach, though the stubborn Pokemon faced away from his newfound partner that simply drug him along. “C’mon ya dumb mongrel!” The red haired trainer huffed in an annoyed voice while trekking through the long, winding path. “I don’t care if it’s 500 degrees outside! I’m gunna make sure you grow nice and strong. I ain’t havin’ a weakling stay on my team and it’s evident you’ll become something strong and powerful. So, listen!” Silver argued with his Pokemon. The Totodile spun only his head around to face his trainer. He would stick his tongue out and use one of his clawed fingers to pull on the bottom corner of his eyelid as he made a stink face at Silver. Silver stopped abruptly when he noticed Shinya in his pathway. Really, he was so busy arguing with his Pokemon that Silver stopped when he bumped into Shinya directly. The red haired trainer would then jump back as he raised his hands out with his palms facing Shinya. “Watch it, buddy! Ya wanna fight?!” He barked, then smirked when he got a good look over Shinya and assumed that the battle would be an easy one for him. He would quickly untie Totodile’s rope from around his stomach, then prod the small crocodile forward as he gestured towards Shinya. “Cuz we need a good opponent to help us toughen up and you look weak enough. Ready, Totodile?” Silver said in a tone of voice that implied ‘you better be’. Silver challenges Shinya to a battle! He will be using his Level 10 Totodile.

While most living creatures were tormented by the harsh sunlight, Shinya was not. Since he was from the Alola region, Shinya was used to far worse sunlight than anything Johto could muster up. In fact, the Team Skull grunt kind of enjoyed it, whistling a tune as he continued down route 29. Shinya would occasionally glance from side to side and catch glimpses of wild Pokemon doing whatever they could to beat the heat, but he let them be. As much as Shinya enjoyed antagonizing others, the wild Pokemon he saw looked far too weak to put up a real fight. So, the trainer from Alola kept on going, still mentally hoping that something interesting would happen.
Then, as it turned out, the Bug type trainer got his wish, suddenly hearing the sounds of someone yelling not far from his current location. Shinya stopped whistling immediately, then gave it some thought and shrugged his shoulders. "Meh. Why not? Whoever they are, they sound like a real piece of work." Shinya commented on the words he was hearing from the shouting trainer, then proceeded to turn and start walking in the direction of said shouting. Then, about a minute later, the yelling stopped, and the entire area fell silent. This made Shinya come to a stop as well, as he raised an eyebrow and wondered what was going on.
After that, much to Shinya's surprise, a red-haired trainer came out of seemingly nowhere and bumped into him. Literally. The Team Skull grunt then listened to what the new trainer had to say and was quick to glare and bark right back at him. "Why don't ya take your own advice, scrub?! Ya wanna go?! I'll destroy you!" However, Shinya's facial expression softened when he saw the red head untie his Totodile. A clear sign that the Big Jaw Pokemon was stolen. This caused Shinya to start laughing, which lasted a full minute until he finally stopped.
"Ya know what? I like your foulness. If ya ask me, you'd fit right in with Team Skull." Shinya couldn't help commenting on what he had seen from this new trainer so far, getting his grin back right away, seeing a lot of similarities between this trainer and the other members of Team Skull that he left back home. "If it's a fight ya want, then I'll gladly take ya on." The Bug type trainer was more than thrilled to battle a trainer that was so much like himself, grabbing the same Poke Ball from his bag that he used during his last battle. "I choose this one!" Tossing the red and white orb up into the air, Shinya sent Pinsir back out into the fray yet again. "Pin. Pinsir." The Stagbeetle Pokemon appeared before the other trainer and his Pokemon, already looking rested and ready to rumble once more.
Although Totodile had the advantage when it came to level, Shinya kept his grin, knowing that he and Pinsir had the real advantage in this battle. The harsh sunlight would weaken Totodile's Water type attacks by quite a bit, making it easier for Shinya and Pinsir to attack without fear. "Show these scrubs what Team Skull is all about, Pinsir! Use Bind!" Shinya called out his first command of the battle, planning to chip away at Totodile's HP bit by bit, in addition to Pinsir's real attacks as well. "Pinsir! Sir!" Showing absolutely no fear, Pinsir charged straight for Totodile, opening the claws on his head up wide as he did. Once he reached the Water type Pokemon, he planned to really put the squeeze on it, using every ounce of his strength.

Despite the harsh sunlight reducing the power of water type moves Silver was hopefuly that Totodile would still be able to prove it's worth against a Pinsir. Being the underappreciated Kanto bug next to the more popular Scyther even Silver held it in low regard and thought a Totodile would be more than a match for it. " Like I would ever join any weakling group, Team Rocket are weak enough but I have never heard of Team Skull. You must be a pathetic group if I have never heard of it." Despite his tough talk however he was quickly caught off guard by how quickly Pinsir was able to move. As it grabbed Totodile with it's pincers it started to squeeze the young water type causing quite a bit of pain and trapping it in place. Totodile tried everything it could to break the grip but it was ironclad and struggling only made it worse. " You worthless little pest. I should turn you into a pair of shoes. At least you would be more useful than you are right now. Use your Water Gun to force that Pinsir to let go of you." Totodile managed to fired a very small amount of water at the Pinsir's face but the harsh sunlight made the attack almost worthless. Silver was fuming with rage by now as Pinsir continued to squeeze Totodile as the water type sat helplessly in it's pincers still hopelessly trying to struggle free. Silver did not have many other options other than to keep attacking as Totodile was too weak to try anything else. All he could do was insult his opponent trying to bide time and hope Totodile could somehow overcome a huge disadvantage it found itself in. " It figures a weakling like you would rely on a second class Pokemon like Pinsir instead of a cool Pokemon like Scyther. You must really be from some backwoods boondock if you think Pinsir is worth even a moment of your time." He said as he tried to get Shinya to make some sort of huge error so he could turn this battle around. Although Shinya didn't appreciate anyone bad mouthing Team Skull, he did still agree with Silver's comment about Team Rocket being weak. The trainer from Alola had heard of Team Rocket while surfing the web, and even though they were far more infamous than Team Skull, Shinya aimed to change that. Still, Shinya wasn't the least bit surprised to hear that his opponent hadn't heard of Team Skull. Since they were more of a gang, rather than an evil organization, it was unlikely that anyone outside of the Alola region would know about Team Skull's existence. Even so, that made the Team Skull grunt all the more excited to spread the word of Team Skull as far and wide as he could. And to that end, Shinya decided that now would be a good time for Team Skull's signature rap.
So, even though they were in the middle of a battle, Shinya pulled out his Pokegear, played some music that he had saved on it, and performed the Team Skull rap for his opponent to give him an idea of what they were all about. "I can't handle this stupid world! Beat down and smash this rotten world! Smash! Trash! Wreck! Break! Enough with being nice! Let out steam with destruction! Full power! Blue skies! We're the proud Team Skull! We're the infamous Team Skull! Put your hands up, everybody!" As he finished his performance, Pinsir threw his arms up instantly, shouting out some loud cheers as he did. "Pinsir! Pinsir!"
With that, Shinya turned off his Pokegear, put it away, and grinned at Silver once more. "Ya get it now? That's Team Skull. We do what we want, and destroy anyone who tries to stop us." Shinya's point was made quite clear after the first round, as Pinsir put the squeeze on Totodile and barely felt the Big Jaw Pokemon's counter attack. In fact, Pinsir laughed at Totodile's attack a little, then thanked the Water type for it, saying that it felt kind of good in the harsh sunlight. "Pin. Pin. Pinsir." However, that laughter was short lived, as Silver's words got under the Stagbeetle Pokemon's skin, or shell in his case, instantly. "Sir? Pinsir? Sir! Sir! Pinsir!" Pinsir started to glare and yell at Silver, furious that he was looking down on him and said that he was weaker than Scyther.
Fortunately, Shinya was able to keep his cool, maintaining his grin as he dug through his bag and grabbed a certain Sport Ball from it. "Oh? A Scyther? Ya mean like this one?!" The Bug type trainer tossed the Sport Ball up into the air, calling out the Mantis Pokemon that was inside. Shinya's Scyther appeared in full view right beside Shinya, his eyes narrowed and his blades ready for battle. "Scyther! Scy!" However, Shinya held his arm out in front of Scyther, stopping him from entering the battle. "Woah there. Easy, Scyther. We're just showin' off right now. This is Pinsir's fight." Scyther obeyed his trainer, but still looked disappointed and frustrated as well. "Scyther. Scyther."
The Team Skull grunt turned his attention back towards Silver after that, continuing to grin at him as he spoke. "If that was an attempt to get under my skin, you're gonna have to do a lot better than that. Just because I enjoy destruction doesn't mean that I've got a short fuse. Besides, I'm enjoyin' this way too much to lose my cool." After that, Shinya turned his gaze back over to Pinsir, giving him his next command of the battle. "Use that anger and destroy 'em, Pinsir! Focus Energy!" Even in his enraged state, Pinsir heard his trainer loud and clear. "Sir! Pinsir!" As he continued to crush Totodile with his pincers, the Bug type Pokemon started to pump himself up, building up massive amounts of energy for his next attack.

Silver looks at the new trainer with an annoyed look as he covers his ears trying to block out the horrible wrap and music. Silver wasn't sure if this was worse than the dumb chants he hears Team Rocket spit out whenever they encounter someone. The pose the pinsir did at the end didn't help Silver's opinion of the group. Once the music and song is done, Silver drops his hands. "You didn't help your cause at all. Team Rocket has their own chants and poses depending on which part of it you run into. If destruction is all you are into than how come the trees and bushes are still standing? Do you only think you can destroy society or Pokemon? Whatever you care about destroying, you are no better than the pathetic Team Rocket. Just to prove it, totodile use scratch to get out of the bind you are in." Totodile would have looked back and given some sort of reaction but all it could do is scratch along the side of head of the pinsir. The pinsir is irritated with the attack until it got the order to ignore the pain and focus energy for the next attack. The pinsir starts to glow making it hard for Silver and totodile to see. Silver tries to shade his eyes from the light until it calms down. It took a moment for Silver to realize what just happen. Once he did, he knew his totodile will be in trouble next attack. If this Pokemon couldn't take the next hit than it would be worth dumping off later or leaving at the end of battle. The next thing to catch Silver's attention is the new Pokemon this Skull kid introduced. "So you do have the bladed bug Pokemon with you. I have to wonder if you have a thing for bugs or if these are you two only ones. Whatever the case, I'll be glad to see more of them after I beat the brown bug in front of me." Even though it was easy for Shinya to see and hear that Silver was annoyed and insulting him, he didn't seem to care one bit, as his grin remained present on his face. Scyther, on the other hand, narrowed his eyes at the red-haired trainer and looked about ready to slice him up. "Scyther..." However, just like before, Shinya held his arm out in front of the Mantis Pokemon and stopped him from making any moves of his own. "Love that fire in your eyes, Scyther, but it's cool. This scrub just doesn't get it. It's no surprise. Hardly anyone ever does." Silver's words didn't even faze Shinya, as he was used to this sort of thing, having heard it plenty of times before from all sorts of people. The Team Skull grunt then lowered his arm and faced Silver again, offering up a retort of his own. "On the contrary. I'd say I've helped my cause out quite a bit. That narrow-minded attitude of yours just proves that you'd be a bad fit for Team Skull. It's easy to see that you've got no real ambition or imagination at all. Yeah, my Pokemon and I could easily destroy all the trees and bushes around here, but where's the fun in that? It's no fun destroyin' somethin' that doesn't fight back." "And if you wanna talk about pathetic, then maybe you should take a good long look in a mirror. Draggin' your Pokemon around on a leash? Tch, seriously? So lame. At least my Pokemon listen to me. Ever heard of a Poke Ball? It's pretty obvious that ya stole that Totodile from some chump, which sounds an awful lot like somethin' Team Rocket would do. Don't ya think?" Shinya continued to grin at Silver as he egged him on, raising one eyebrow at him as he waited for a response. All the while, Pinsir received another attack from his opponent, but he barely felt it and refused to loosen his grip on Totodile even a little. Rather, the Stagbeetle Pokemon continued to glare at the Water type, as he built up energy for his next attack, planning to hit it hard. Shinya and his two Bug types then heard Silver's question, and Shinya was quick to offer up yet another retort. "Wouldn't you like to know? If ya can beat Pinsir, I might be willin' to show ya more, but I don't see that happenin'. Pinsir, show this scrub what I'm talkin' about. Hit Totodile hard with your Feint Attack!" Even though Feint Attack never missed, it would be impossible for Pinsir to miss anyway, with Totodile still locked in the tight grip of his pincers. "Pinsir! Pin...sir!" Pinsir channeled all of the power he built up in the last round, then let the Big Jaw Pokemon have it, hitting his foe as hard as he possibly could. OOC: I appreciate the reply to my thread, antonius , but you forgot to deduct the 4 damage that Pinsir's Bind caused this round from Totodile's HP in the picture.

As Totodile struggled against all odds to try and not only mount a comeback against Pinsir but also appease Silver at the same time the sight would likely bring a tear to most trainers eyes. The poor water type was trying it's best despite being outclassed in every way and nothing Silver said or did was going to change that fact. Totodile was well and truly being abused on multiple levels but it still wanted to try and appease it's trainer regardless of the harsh treatment it received. Silver could care less however as it had so far failed to live up to his expectations and Shinya mocking him only made everything worse. " A lot of talk from a street punk like you. I am surprised those Team Rocket fools haven't recruited you as you sound just like those losers. I can hardly wait to win this battle so I can send you crying to them for help." Despite his tough talk Silver was in quite a pickle and things were only about to get worse as Pinsir stuck Totodile with an unavoidable blow as Feint Attack scored a powerful hit. The resulting CRITICAL HIT caused a massive amount of damage but Totodile was able to battle through the pain again. " You worthless little handbag, use Scratch again before you end up in a department store display." Totodile managed to get off a weak Scratch against Pinsir but by now anyone who was not blinded by fantasy knew this battle was almost over. As Pinsir squeezed the poor Totodile the residual damage was almost enough to end the battle thought Silver still thought he was going to win against all odds. " Yeah keep talking, your Pinsir struggling to defeat such a pathetic Totodile is pretty telling. Totodile we are going to win this battle the next round I can feel it. This punk needs to be put in their place." As he still struggled to see the reality of the situation Totodile could only pray that Shinya would make the next round quick before Silver could grow any angrier. From all of the times Shinya abused others, it was easy for him to spot when someone else was being abused themselves, even if he wasn't the one causing it. Still, the Team Skull grunt cared not for the suffering of the Big Jaw Pokemon, and simply kept his gaze locked on the other trainer. Despite being so similar, it was clear that these two weren't getting along, and likely never would. But as with a pair of magnets, two positives repelled each other. Or two negatives in this particular case. Either way, it was pretty obvious that Shinya had made a new enemy today, rather than a new friend. "Tch. As if I'd ever work with those failures. They've been around a lot longer than Team Skull, and yet all they've managed to do is fail time and time again. Even if they came to me cryin' and beggin' on their hands and knees, I'd still destroy 'em. In fact, I hope they come lookin' for me. It'll save me the trouble of huntin' 'em down myself." Even in the face of Silver's harsh words, Shinya never lost his grin, and his attitude didn't waver. Rather, he continued to belittle the red-haired trainer, cleaning out his right ear with his right pinkie finger and flicking the contents off to the side as he did. Shinya then watched as Pinsir dealt a devasting blow to Totodile, causing the Bug type trainer to grin once more. It was clear as the sky above their heads that this battle was just about over. All that remained was for Pinsir to pound in the finishing move, which Shinya would be more than happy to give the order for. But just for fun, the Team Skull grunt decided to belittle Silver even more, smirking a rather devilish smirk as the idea entered his mind. "Oh really? Are ya sure? Well, okay. If you insist." Shinya chuckled to himself a bit, knowing very well that Silver was being sarcastic, but he didn't care one bit. "I'll admit, we are stuck fightin' small fries like yourself for now, but that's why we trainers train our Pokemon. So that one day, we can battle some trainers and Pokemon with more bite. To that end, you'll make some nice fodder, if nothin' else." Shinya, Scyther, and Pinsir all proceeded to laugh at their opponents, knowing that this battle was nothing more than a steppingstone on their way to the top. "Pinsir, I think it's about time we move onto bigger and better things. Use Vise Grip and end this pointless struggle." Having been given the order he was waiting for, Pinsir happily obliged, tightening his grip on Totodile with a strong Vise Grip attack. "Pin! Pinsir! Pinsir!"OOC: 459 more words for Shinya's Joltik egg in this post. And no worries, Marchbaby. It's cool. Thanks though.

To Totodile's happiness and tiredness, the pinsir did put it out of its misery. The blue croc Pokemon easily rolled behind Silver after the Vise Grip landed. Now Totodile could relax and play dead ignoring whatever Silver wanted. Sure he wanted to please his trainer but after the humiliating battle all Totodile wanted to do is take it easy. Silver watched as his Totodile rolled past him in utter defeat. His face was a deep red from anger and embarrassment. Some would say it is hard to tell the difference between hair and face. He walked slowly as he pounded the ground with each step towards this Skull member. "Next time we meet, I'll gladly make you wish you never stepped onto Jhoto. You got lucky my worthless Pokemon decided to take it easy on you. Who knows, next time I might have a fire or flying type with me to squash your puny bugs." Silver grabs a wad of cash out of his pocket and drops in front of Shinya. He then storms off towards his Totodile who he recalls. A few moments later he is down the path and out of site. As soon as Totodile hit the dirt, both Shinya and Pinsir gained expression of pure satisfaction on their faces, very pleased with their handy work. Not only did they win the battle. They also angered and embarrassed the other trainer so severely that they couldn't tell where the face began, and the hair ended on him. Then, almost immediately after Silver started changing colors, Shinya and Pinsir burst out into a fit of laughter. "Ahahahahahahah! Silver?! Maybe you should change your name to Red! Ahahahahahahah! What Pokemon are ya gonna steal next?! A Slugma?! You two would be like twins with a face like that! Ahahahahahahah!" The Team Skull grunt shouted out insults in between his fits of laughter, holding his sides as he did.
Scyther didn't join his trainer and fellow Bug type in the laughter, but he did still smirk a bit and snicker to himself a little. Shinya and Pinsir's laughter went on for roughly three more minutes, then the two finally stopped and took another minute to catch their breath just in time for Silver to approach them and make his declaration. Shinya and his Pokemon listened to the words that came from the red-haired trainer's mouth, continuing to grin at him as he spoke, not really taking those words too seriously. "Tch. Go ahead and try, little red riding hood. We destroyed ya this time, and we'll destroy ya next time too. In fact, I hope ya catch some Fire and Flying types before I see ya again. I'm dyin' to show ya just how much stronger I am than you are. Or will be. Now, buzz off, scrub."
The Bug type trainer and his Pokemon then watched as Silver threw down some cash in front of them, then turned, recalled his Totodile, and left. "Pin. Pin. Pinsir." Pinsir was quick to reach down, grab the money, and hand it up to his trainer. "Thanks, Pinsir. Ya did a good job. Return for now. You too, Scyther." Shinya collected his winnings from the Stagbeetle Pokemon, put it into his pocket, then called both Pinsir and Scyther back to their respective Poke Balls, putting them back into his bag afterward. Once that was done, Shinya took one last look around him, as well as the sky above, letting out a three second yawn after that. "Okay. This time for real. Time for us to be movin' on. This place doesn't look like it's got anything left to offer me. Time for a little change of scenery, where the trainers and Pokemon hopefully have more bite to 'em." The Team Skull grunt said to himself, then grinned once more, placed his hands into his pockets, and finally left route 29, entering Cherrygrove City after just a few more steps.
OOC: 462 more words for Shinya's Joltik egg. Thank you very much.
