Bugsy's Scyther [Status]: Down for the count!
Venom's Whirliped[Status]: A little woozy but still standing!

 

"Not quite yet," Bugsy corrected with a determined expression. "It's not over till Scyther falls....and I wont make that easy for you! Scyther, use Quick Attack again."

He didn't begrudge the young trainer his win. In fact it was quite obvious by this point that Venom would win. But Bugsy wasn't about to lay down till the final blow had been struck. There was a certain order to these things after all and the battle was a learning experience for both victor and vanquished. Both grew stronger from it if the trainer knew how to take the right lessons from it.

Both trainers turned their eyes towards the field as the pokemon came together once again. Scyther moved almost more quickly than they could see and scored a solid hit on the Whirlipede but it wasn't enough to take the poison type down. The Whirlipede's attack though, on an already poisoned opponent, was far more successful. Scyther backed off for a moment, clearly staggered, and then collapsed into a poisoned induced swoon. Bugsy watched this and then sighed softly.

"Now it's over," he said with a rueful grin. "And as much as I hate to lose I've got to admit it; you and your pokemon fought one hell of a fine battle."

Reaching in to a pocket he withdrew a shiny new gym badge and Venom's winnings.

"So, in accordance with the regulations of the pokemon league I officially present you with this Hive Badge. Wear it proudly.  And this is a special bonus from me since you were such a fine opponent. It is the TM for U-Turn. You saw for yourself how effective it can be and I know you will put it to good use. In addition you will now be able to use the move Cut outside of battle.

It is a proud day for you and your team Venom. Congratulations."

Once Scyther finally hit the ground, Whirlipede finally lowered his guard, and let out a sigh of relief. At the same time, Venom's grin transformed into a proud smile, as it slowly sunk in that he and his Pokémon had won their second gym badge. "Alright! Another win for Team Toxic! Way to go Whirlipede!" Venom ran over to his dear friend, knelt down beside him, and gently patted the top of his body. "Thank you so much Whirlipede, my friend. You were amazing." Whirlipede took a few deep breaths, slowly recovering his stamina, but still managed to look back at his trainer, and accept his thanks with immense joy and satisfaction. "Whirl. Whirlipede." Venom then pulled out Whirlipede's Sport Ball, and called the Poison/Bug type inside of it for some well deserved rest. "Take a good rest Whirlipede. You've earned it." The ninja then got back to his feet, and watched as Bugsy walked closer to him.

The Poison type trainer listened to what the gym leader had to say, giving him a smile filled with gratitude. When presented with his winnings, Venom accepted them all from the Bug type trainer, and put them all away in their new, respective homes. The money went into Venom's wallet, the TM into his TM case for later use, and the Hive Badge into his badge case, all located in different sections of Venom's bag. The Hive Badge shimmered alongside Venom's Zephyr Badge, and the purple haired trainer took a moment to admire his pair of badges before putting them away, already looking forward to winning his third gym badge in the future. "Thank you very much Bugsy, Ill be sure to put all of these rewards to good use. I believe Ive learned a great deal from you, and Ill carry these lessons with me all the way to the end of my journey. And hopefully one day, you'll get to take part in a contest of my own design, featuring my beloved Poison type Pokémon. Until that day comes, be sure to keep your eyes and ears open. Im sure you'll be hearing all about the adventures and accomplishments of Team Toxic in the near future Bugsy. Farewell, my friend." Venom bowed to his new friend, showing his respect, then turned, exiting his gym as he waved goodbye, moving onto the next step on the road to his dream.
