Mikasi hadn't wasted a lot of time in New Bark Town. There wasn't that much to do there and he was going to need more pokemon to be a threat to anyone. Mikasi imagined pidgey could be great eventually with his fighting spirit but the little guy was a weakling right now and would need some serious experience to be at all useful.
He still only had charizard out walking alongside him. At somepoint the pokemon would have to get use to his pokeball but it got freedom on the road a bit longer. He had caught a pidgey! It was still exciting no matter how serious he tried to take each moment of the day. His mind was already dreaming and wondering of what was going to come next. So it was he was walking around outside of the city, watching the grass for any signs of movement. Actually now he remembered to watch the sky also, not that he knew how he would get something flying past to come down.

As Misaki walked along with their Pokemon they would soon begin to hear this splashing sound. As the two walked closer Misaki would see a white cloud playing in a big puddle of water. It made happy little baa sounds as it continued to pitter patter in the water. "Mareep!" It was smiling as it played until it noticed something. The Mareep stopped and looked around. Uh oh, trainer alert. The poor charmander was busy hiding behind Misaki to stop the tail getting wet. We didn't need the poor thing getting ill from the flame going out. The Mareep looked between, the charmander and Misaki not moving an inch. It had saw a trainer like this before, they took their friend. But maybe, if the trainer took them along then they would see their friend again? That sounded more fun then playing in the puddle alone. With that the small cloud Pokemon got out the puddle and shook, making their wool poof a bit as it dried out. "Mareep!" It called out as small sparks surrounded their body. To be brought along the Mareep would have to battle, it just hoped it would have what it takes. For it's friend, for fun times once more! Mareep Lv 5 A happy little cloudy is splashing in a puddle! Will you battle it? OOXdl_4A1-42 1-42

Mikasi looked down at Match hiding behind him, "oh yah, real brave. Don't be a baby." Yah, water wasn't good for the flame but hiding still didn't impress Mikasi. It was a puddle not a dang river! "Fine."
Mikasi took out the pokeball with his new addition, "Come on out cash," holding it out in front of him and watching the light shoot out as pidgey appeared. It took a moment to ruffle its feathers in a more comfortable way then spotted the mareep before it. Cash wasn't nearly the coward that Match was. It didn't matter that Mareep was an electric, or that Cash was still so much a novice. "Pidgey!" The little bird stared hard at its target, determined to show off how good it was.
"There's a good pokemon." Mikasi murmured softly with definite praise. That smug smile was back on his face watching the mareep. "Alright, Cash be careful. Not the ideal for you, but you have what it takes." Oh definite praise. He was happy with the little birds confident demeanor. "Go on tackle it. Hard and fast." It was entirely possible this was a mistake. More than likely Match would have to hop in. Would this be enough to make him realize how cowardly he appeared? At least to Mikasi a puddle of water and damp pokemon was no excuse, regardless of that tail of flame.

Reckless or brave? Where is the line drawn? Is there truly a line between the two? Surely the pidgey thought it was brave, as confident as it was, but going into a situation like this against a much stronger Pokemon could prove to be quite naive at best, regardless of typing differences. The mareep wasted no time in making an entrance into the fight. It was excited to be battling the trainer, flooding along the route made for much less company out of trainers making their way to Violet. It wanted someone to play with. It charged towards Mikasi’s Cash shortly after it was released from the ball, making an extra effort to not slip in the puddles that spread across the makeshift battlefield as it trotted. Approaching the avian, the mareep then lunged forward, launching the entirety of its body at Cash, dealing quite a bit of damage to the bird. The mareep didn’t make any real attempts at dodging the bird’s oncoming attack. With the impact from the bird’s tackle attack, the mareep stood sort of like a stone wall, barely moving. If Cash wanted to win this, It’d have to do that a number of times without falling too tired of the mareep’s attacks. The wild sheep Pokemon let out a gleeful smile. “Ma- Mareep!” It was definitely enjoying itself in the battle, and hadn't paid much attention to Mikasi's words to his own Pokemon. Cash hadn't done all that well, but Mikasi hadn't been expecting much. What he had wanted was to test dedication. This pidgey was perfect! He'd be a total failure in this matcch but he would become something special with that attitude. "Good Job Cash, but switching out. Take a breather. Return." Mikasi pushed the pokeball to suck up the Cash.
Glancing down his leg where Match was looking up at him with a rather uncertain look. "Char-mander?"
"You guys are supposed to be tough." Mikasi pointed out dryly. He pointed to where the Mareep was, "Go on, its just wanting to play."
Charmander sighed looking at the mud and various puddles, but he sucked in his beath a bit, "Char!" He didn't feel as confident as he sounded but Mikasi was his owner, and he did want the kid to like him. Match jogged out to size up Mareep, his tail kept up a bit higher than normal. "Alright Match, show me what you learned. Use ember." He didn't need to knock this little guy out to catch it so if Match got in the hit that would probably be good enough. It just depended on Match getting his act together.
Mikasi imagined the water might be a tad unnerving, and the mud a poor environment for a charmander. Hard situations helped toughen a person up. Match needed a lot of toughening.

With the pidgey drawn back into his Pokeball in his trainer’s hands, the mareep shifted its focus from one target to the other. Now that the pidgey was gone, it was time to attack the charmander who had originally hid from the water-y conditions along the route. The mareep let out a playful growl towards Match. The mareep seemed to splash around in a puddle for a moment before going for an attack, so it was Match’s turn to deal some damage. A small flame came from the charmander. Small, but it was fire none-the-less. The attack caught the mareep off-guard, doing more damage than it would’ve otherwise. However, the flooding in the area acted sort of as a power dampener to Match’s fire type move. After feeling the attack, The mareep splashed in the water one more time to relieve itself from the heat it felt. Shaking off the water from its thick winter coat, it let out a gleeful cry. “Reep! Mareep!” It bounced up and then charged the charmander as it had previously, throwing its whole body at Match. The hit caused Match to fall onto the ground. After the hit, the wild mareep seemed to strut its way back to the puddle it had previously gone to when it had to rid itself of the heat from Match’s flame. The mareep turned to look at Match, and then at his trainer. “Mareep!” It stood next to the puddle. It had no clue the effect water could have on the life of a charmander, it was just enjoying playing a game with its new found friends. Cherrygrove Wild Battle VS Mareep

"Char Char Char!" Match tried to avoid the tackle but fell in the mud. *Splaaatt..* sticky mud on the side of one of his left cheek and the rest of his left side. As he stood back up it slowly smeared across his frame as it slid down. His only thought falling had been the safety of his flame. This was not the condition he wanted to battle in. This was not helping him build up faith in his owner.
"Chaaaar..." Match seemed to to sigh out, wishing his owner would give up this battle or try capturing the mareep now. It didn't seem ovelry bothered by his attack but surely it helped a little?
Kyren cursed himself inwardly for a fool as the little mareep was wet from all the splashing it had done. The water was a great buffer to the fire. He couldn't blame charmander for this mess up "Match, scratch attack!"
Well, it was still fighting but it sounded kind of better other than having to touch that wet fluffy fur. The mareep wouldn't have as much room to charge if charmander was in close so maybe he wouldn't end up in the mud again. "Chaaaaar-mander!" Charmander charged the mareep swiping out his hand as he tried to claw at mareep's face as it was one of the few spots not covered in fluff. Scratching fluff wasn't likely to do much.

Mareep's tail ceased its cheery wag as the next attack came in. It waited expectantly, watching as the fiery pokémon closed the distance and primed his claws. The sheep pawed the ground for a second, bowing its head as if it was preparing to meet the charmander partway. Instead it dipped down and curled up as the little white claws came down upon it. Sadly for the wildling Match's instinct to avoid as much fluff as possible proved to be more beneficial than he first assumed. After a short rake against the leathery blue hide Match's claws ended up just barely scuffing some of the puffy wool on the way out. A loud snap hit the air as a prick of static electricity rebounded against one of charmander's fingernails. It was... shocking to say the least. No harm done, but the surprise crackle made Match stumble back before he realized that it had been harmless static. This time at least. The electric sheep chirped with playful laughter then set forth for another tackle. Its soft head rammed into Match's belly and sent him stumbling back across the mud again. Mareep didn't give any extra chase, stopping abruptly and watching with those bright beady eyes. Its ball-end tail began wagging once again. Cherrygrove Wild Battle VS Mareep

As Charmander stumbled back his tail drooped just a bit as he realized he hadn't really needed to. He wasn't loving the fight but he was preparing himself to go again. He wanted this battle to hurry up and be done with. It was sort of irritating to see how much the mareep was enjoying itself. Of course *it* didn't have to worry about a flaming tail going out. That thought hadn't left Matchs mind for a moment.
Mikasi was considering the mareep. It still looked happy but it had got a little damage done. This weaker younger pokemon in theory didn't need to much damage to be caught. Looking back at Match he felt a sliver of guilt for how worried it was, but just a sliver.
He took out a pokeball and threw it at the mareep, "Alright, your mine!" Actually he wasn't all that confident, just hopeful. All he needed was Charmander to get more fearful over fights around water.

The fluffy blue sheep blinked its small black pupils as it studied Match. The flame-tailed lizard entertained the wooly mammalian Pokemon. Mareep tilted its head to the side quizzically as it awaited the scaly orange lizard’s next great attack. Winded, it huffed out heavy puffs of air through its lungs and seemed to bounce its head as it considered what its next greatest move would be. The yellow and black stripped prong-like ears that protruded from the sides of its face rocked in a sashay motion as the blue sheep gave its head a bit of a wiggle then tried to make a ‘beckoning’ motion with the tip of its snout. “Marr marr!” The electric mammal dug its foot into the muddied earth underneath. It stomped about from one foot to the next, trying to egg the flame-tailed fire type on. Perhaps boredom of awaiting this starter’s next move was starting to seep in? Carefully, the sheep started to prod itself closer to the Charmander, as if it might rush forward after simply waiting too long for the other Pokemon to react. What the Mareep failed to focus on would soon encapsulate the poor wretched dear. Stratocumulus clouds loomed overhead, broken up through bits of slightly darkened blue skies that loomed overhead. An omen of the future or past, or simply a sign of the weather ahead? The young preteen managed to pull a small red-and-white ball and to toss it at the Mareep. “Mar?” It kicked its heels at the earthen ground as its black pupils widened in shock, and reared up just as a flash of red light encircled the Pokemon. “…reeeepppp…!” Splash! mud and dirt spray up in different directions. Ding. The red-and-white Pokeball shook back and forth. Ding. Slowly, the white on the ball soured and darkened, as bits of muddied water and dirt coated it in odd patches. Ding. Mareep’s final pleas clung in the air as a last farewell, before the Pokeball stopped silently. Triumph. With stillness and no Mareep in sight, the young lad Mikasi had managed to successfully catch the Mareep. MareepName: Maple Gender: Female Level: 5 OT: Mikasi Kuro Attacks:Tackle, Growl, Thunder Wave Ability: Static Nature/Personality: Jolly (Put in trade request for mareep for onix so no need to add mareep to my party Trade) "Char..man..der." The relieved little fire lizard watched as the battle was over. He was muddy and stressed but they had won! Squishing over to Mikasi looking up at him hopeful of some praise for the great work he clearly did. "Char?"Mikasi had a smug smile on his face as he walked over to where the pokeball rested, picking it up and frowning as he did considering the mud all over the ball. "and its filthy.." Not that his boots were any better, and his bottom of his pants that met his hiking boots. "Well, we need to get cleaned up right away when we hit town." Mikasi's eyes flicked over to the hopeful Match waiting for a bit of praise. It had been a coward, but it had also done what it was told despite being scared. At least it obeyed. "Good job Match. Time for you to get out of the mud." Pulling out charmanders pokeball, pressing the button to have the bright light pull charmander in. It wasn't really a great job, but it had brought a big smile to the little guys face. No point in a miserable pokemon. It had won, sort of. "Might as well try and get a few more pokemon now. I hate to get cleaned up only to come right back out and get muddy again." Glancing at the pokeballs he had, imagining the creatures within. "Rest up. You've got more work ahead." With that he started walking again, he was heading towards the city of cherrygrove but still taking his time. Now, if he were to act like a kid he might try jumping over or into mud puddles. However, he was not a kid and thus not tempted. Ok! He was tempted. Mikasi withheld all puddle jumping though. He had to grow up, it was important.

While Mikasi was resisting the childish urge to jump from puddle to puddle, a pokemon close by was not so mature. A wild Bidoof at first appeared to be innocently enjoying the weather that Route 30 was currently treated to. Bidoof had been jumping into the puddles and flicking mud around, some of which covered any remaining clean spots on Mikasi's already dirty clothes. How would Mikasi respond to this situation that he was now dealt with, would he try to reason with the wild plump mouse pokemon to stop what it was doing, put a stop to what it was doing by force or simply shrug off the new layer of mud that had him and imagine that it had never happened and continue on ahead? Bidoof (level 4) is causing a righteous mess jumping from mud puddle to mud puddle! Will Mikasi put a stop to this young one? Shiny check: hl9YQW2O1-421-42

Mikasi had traded off the mareep for an onix and was imagining how great it was going to be. An onix was big and strong and demanded respect. The feeling of even more mud flying onto his pants caused a glower thrown towards where it had come from. A bidoof? what was it with all the poof-ball pokemon? Ok, it wasn't nearly as fluffy as mareep but still pretty darn fluffy. Pretty darn messy too.
If he threw out charmander it would just get upset about the mud again. Huh, Mikasi just realized he had changed out a pokemon that could handle water to another pokemon that didn't like water. Terrific. Well that left him with Cash and the bug... crap what was his name? More mud splatted on his pants. Mikasi was tempted to charge the thing himself, but instead took a step back for distance and pulled out a pokeball. "Come on out Cash, you got this." Hopefully. At least the little bird wouldn't cry over water. He could always bring out the bug.. skitter! That was his name, right? It might just get stuck in the mud though.
Cash was on the ground for only a second before he lifted himself up into the air. "Pidg!"
"Hey, Bidoof!" Mikasi raised his voice to get its attention, "You better fight hard, cause if I catch you I'm gonna turn you into a mud-man." See if it liked mud so much when it was covered in it. Well, maybe he would. That would mean even more of a mess.
"Go Cash, tackle attack. Get him hard and fast."

The furry plump brown rodent with its cute pink button nose pretended as though it didn’t see the young boy for a second. Steady….pounce! The mouse Pokemon scrunched up its entire form and lunged itself at the next big water puddle on the ground. Spin around. Pounce! It would jump endlessly from one big pile of watery mud to the next. The rodent’s big puffy cheeks seemed upturned as the pleasure radiated from each corner of its face. “Bidoof! Doof doof!” It chuckled. Splash! Sprshhh! Bits of mud and dirt was kicked up and sprayed about and landed not only on Mikasi, but on the random bushes, trees, and really anything else around it. Bam! The furry brown rodent squealed out, a loud and horrible sound, as it toppled over. The Bidoof rolled about across the ground and through the muddy puddles of water. It jumped up and shook itself violently, sending the fresh coating of mud in different directions. It was covered from head to toe, with patches of mud clinging to its fur in odd places. “Bid? Bidoof! Doof!” It reared up and began charging towards the brown feathery avian that had just assaulted it. The Plump Mouse Pokemon tackled the flying bird to the ground and rammed into the Pidgey’s side as hard as it could. Its eyes narrowed down on its opponent, trying to consider if this was a incidental crime or a conspiracy to take the rodent out. Its sharp loud cries rang in the air, full of distrust and accusation. Why did the Pidgey try to hurt the Bidoof so? It would pay for its crimes against the poor normal type mouse. So they tumbled about in a tackling mess, both bird and mammal tumbling through the muddy puddles on the ground. As the Bidoof rose back up, it huffed and puffed angrily and stared its opponent down. Cash preferred not to tussle on the ground. Cash preferred to be in the air. So when the overgrown teddy bear of a mouse struck Cash back the bird was just doing its best to get free of the thing "Pidggggeeeyyy!" the cry started low as much of a growl as pidgey could manage ad as it broke free of the Bidoof. The little bird on its own wasn't an intimidating sight but it was certainly giving Bidoof the dirtiest look it could manage.
Mikasi's face had started off with a cheer and arm raised at how Cash had struck the bidoof. He really had wanted to see the thing get nailed and Pidgey had done that. However the Bidoof had given Cash an equally good strike. They didn't need to knock bidoof out to capture him though, just rough him up some. As long as Cash had enough drive to ignore getting a bit beat up it would work. Whoever thought he'd figure a pidgey to be one of his best tools. Worst case scenario he could bring out Onix, but would it cry over the mud as much as Charmander had?
"Alright Cash. Another tackle. Try to get around behind him when you hit." Mikasi called out the order even as he tried to assess both of them for how much more they could do.
