The plump mouse pokemon had simply been trying to enjoy himself with the weather that had blessed the route, now this trainer and his partner in crime just went ahead and screwed everything right up. Mikasi's Pidgey, better known as Cash, was the faster and more agile of the two combatants and that was evident as the brown feathered avian pokemon was able to zoom behind the wild Bidoof as he slammed his body into the body of the plump mouse pokemon. Unbelievably the wild Bidoof seemed to have collected more mud than it had the previous time it had been sent rolling through the puddles of mud as a result of an attack, much like before Bidoof regained its composure after violently shaking the latest layer of mud that covered its body, carrying too much mud on its body would no doubt slow it down. Bidoof gave an intense glare over towards Mikasi, why did humans always have to go and wreck wild pokemons fun. The wild plump mouse pokemon then turned its attention back onto its adversary in Cash the Pidgey. Bidoof's huffing and puffing were audible, it was clearly in an agitated state as it launched its body into the body of the avian pokemon as the normal and flying type pokemon looked like siblings fighting in the mud of a backyard after an intense argument, there was obviously no love lost between these two, that was abundantly clear. Both pokemon were trading blows in the form of their tackle attack, the goal at this point was to simply outlast the other it seemed. How banged up did he want to have pidgey get? Mikasi thought of pulling Pidgey out and giving a different one of his pokemon a chance but none of them would be keen on it for one reason or another. For that matter Pidgey was a fighter and might not appreciate not getting to finish the fight. He really needed to work on pidgey learning a long distance attack.
"Come on Cash, 'you're the toughest pidgey I've seen. Tackle him again from behind. Don't let him think for a moment he's better than you." The bird wouldn't like it if Mikasi didn't show him some faith. He wanted a collection of pokemon but this thing had an attitude he didn't really care for. Well, at least when the attitude was turned against Mikasi. If he got the thing to obey him it might not be so bad? They'd have to have a long talk about mud puddles when Mikasi was close along with not ticking him off.
Mikasi would have to find some way to reward Pidgey for how good he was doing. Taking a beating and still going full steam. Pidgey was getting plenty of mud on him thanks to the bidooff also. How long could it go before its flight would get hindered. So far his determination was working well.

The bucktoothed pokémon slapped a paw into the mud, drawing it back to form a ball of mud under its belly. It repeated the action, all the while staring fiercely at the little bird across the way. It seemed it was trying to be intimidating. But Cash wasn't all too bothered nor impressed with its mud sculpting. The pair continued to mirror each other's glares and moves. As such the two launched into simultaneous tackles once again. Still with an edge in speed, the pidgey took the advice of his trainer. Swooping around to try and get in behind the initial charge of bidoof, the avian made use of some light wing mastery to make a sudden whip by the normal type's defenses and make for a surprise attack. If it wasn't for all the mud caked about that rotund body it may have even been a critical blow. But alas, by some lucky break Bidoof managed to escape the worst of Cash's attack with a simple stop, drop, and roll with a layer of mud dampening the tackle done against it. In stride, the roll of the bidoof was toward the bird. Having already committed to lunging forward for his own attack Cash was unfortunately then diverted underneath the weight of Bidoof as it rolled over top. With an adrenaline induced sputter the normally tan colored bird forced his opponent into a faster pass and skipped out of the indentation of mud left behind. Bidoof slowly righted itself, panting noticeably, and Cash wasn't any better. "Well done Cash. That's all we need." Mikasi said sounding confident. The young man didn't feel all that confident as he sounded. If he was wrong then Pidgey would be in real trouble. Had he been wrong not to call the bird back? It was obvious it wouldn't go well for him. No, it was fine. Mikasi grimly smiled as he took out an empty pokeball, throwing it at that muddy blob that happened to be a pokemon. That Bidoof sure did like mud. They were going to have a lesson in cleanliness at some point.
"Hey, Bidoff, you should know I plan to name you 'Mud' since you like it so much." The words thrown out about the same time as the ball.
Cash was clearly ready to keep fighting to his last breath. Mikasi had never imagined what happened if a pokemon went into the pokeball muddy. Did the mud follow it, did it just get the inside of the ball dirty? Did the mud just disapear. or would the pokemon come out just as dirty as it went in? Well, but wouldn't the mud dry on them if it didn't leave? Guess he'd find out in the near future.

One minute you’re battling a bird just so that you can return to your happy game of muddy Leap Frog. Next minute, everything’s pitch black and you’re struggling to return to the world you once loved and knew. As Mikasi tossed the red-and-white Pokeball at the Bidoof, it would catch the normal type Pokemon by surprise. In fact, Mikasi’s words caught it by surprise – this kid was already calling the shots and deciding what its name would be? How absurd – as if this kid was…HEY?! With a zap of the red light, the Bidoof disappeared into the Pokeball. It wriggled and struggled, rocking back and forth inside of the small device, as it tried to fight for its freedom. Ding….Ding…Ding! The final sound of victory. The Pokeball stopped moving, a sign of a successful catch.

BidoofName: Mud Gender: Male Level: 4 OT: Mikasi Kuro Attacks:Tackle Ability: [Choose] Simple Nature/Personality: Impish Mikasi walked over to the pokeball, picking it up with a wicked little smirk. "You're mine now Mud." That little Bidoof would learn how to behave himself. It was welcome to be as much of a jerk as it wanted to with other people, but not to its new owner. It might be amusing some time in the future if it had that attitude towards others. Admittedly it had just been playing in the mud, but he was betting it would be perfectl willing to be a pain in the ass to other people as well. Mikasi then looked to his little pidgey that was attempting to preen its feathers through the mud. It wasn't feeling good, but it did need to get the mud off. "Come on Cash." Mikasi walked over, scooping up his pidgey and finding a deeper puddle to walk over to. "That mud won't do your feathers any good. Right now your the main one in the team I can count on." That said as he squatted down. "I've got a bug who would sink in this mud, one that is scared of all the water, another that is likely to feel the same... and now Mud who needs a lecture before I use him." Mikasi scooped up a bit of water, running it down Pidgey's back gently. Pidgey was surprised by the gentle hands Mikasi was using with him. He hadn't known the boy long but Mikasi didn't seem the sort to be gentle. The little bird flapped out its wings then holding them there to let Mikasi spread the water over easier. Mikasi continued to dribble the water down, occassionall his eyes still looked up. They weren't in a city, and that had been a noisy fight. If he was lucky there would be other pokemon bold enough to see what the noise was about. He would rather have the brave and challenging ones over the weak ones. He also hadn't seen other people yet. "Now, once I've got you all cleaned up you're going to rest inside the ball for a while. It probably won't be a long rest." A bit more water was spread on the bird, running fingers ever so gently. In the end it wasn't perfect but Cash was having a much easier time cleaning off what was left. Mikasi held out his pokeball, thuming it so that Cash was pulled back inside. "Good job." Admittedly, he really did like the little pidgey. Just noting that I've updated Bidoof, to party & to include the move Growl ~L

It was wet and really muddy, which to some, like Mikasi and Cash was annoying and could cause trouble, but to others it was a paradise. Ranger Nikki was aware of that and while she and her pokemon didn't fancy this weather much, she was out and ready to defend a rare pokemon which was protected in these areas. The chance of it appearing in a weather like this was high, and so was the ones who wanted to hunt it illegally. While quagsire might not be a pokemon used often in battles it was held in high regard around Cherrygrove for it was seen as a sign of good luck. Nikki stopped to listen, she thought she had heard the sounds of battle, which was worrying as all decent trainers stayed home today, right? She sneaked forward only to pause and listen once in a while to be sure she was on the right path, and as she got closer she let out a nidoran to keep her company. Poachers could often be aggressive if caught red handed but it wouldn't be a thing Nikki and her pokemon couldn't handle. She peeked around a tree and frowned as she spotted a boy carrying a pidgey, he didn't really look like a poacher, if anything he looked inexperienced and out of place with how nicely he was dressed. He should be playing with his friends, or in school! The ranger stepped out looking like an adult with authority, which she also partly had, her nidoran stood by her side. "Hey! Kid! What are you doing way out here?" Nikki called out to Mikasi and began to stride towards him, she would barely give him time to answer before she continued. "This is a protected area, you should leave. The quagsires will seek those they find worthy and should be left in peace otherwise."She looked him up and down, he was really young and as he looked like he was dressed for a day indoors she wondered if he needed help, or if he had run off looking for a quagsire. "Are you lost?" She would ask bluntly. Ranger Nikki thinks you are hunting quagsire and wants you to leave! She sends out Randi [lvl 6]. What will you do?(ooc: Who's Tipson? )

"My names Mikasi." The words came out without thought. Sure enough, get all muddy and there is no hiding your a kid. Well, there was no hiding he was a kid either way but he fooled some to at least thinking teenager and that got at least a tiny bit more respect than 'kid'
Pidgey was put away. He looked down grimly at the mud she was surely noticing then up at her. "I'm not going to try and catch any of them." Actually, were they worth much money? Would the team rocket group acknowledge him more if he did catch one? Either way if he did it anytime in the near future this person would remember he'd been out here and would make him at least partially under suspicion. So, it wasn't really worth it at the moment.
"I'm a trainer. I was catching some pokemon, but not that one." He felt more like a kid around people with authority and who clearly stated how they felt. He didn't like the feeling. "I came from New Bark, and I'll be heading to Cherry grove in a bit. I'm not lost. A thought occured to him, "I don't suppose you have any pokemon who would want to travel around with trainer and get stronger?" Probably the answer would be know but hey, some adults had soft spots for kids. Too bad he wasn't very good at the naive innocent look that so many adults bought into. "If not, at least want a battle? Most my pokemon still need experience."
Hopefully turning the talk towards the pokemon would help her get over kid being out here alone. Then again maybe stating he was a trainer would be enough. Maybe he'd try Onix in a battle. He was assuming it would be upset due to all the mud but at least he didn't have a firey tail to worry about. Oh, one thing he could add in, "please?" Adults liked that. Lets see.. what did he remember about the nidoran? He knew it was a female. Mikasi didn't know what sort of skills they had though. The males had poison, what about the females? Not much of a horn in compared to the males.

The ranger looked Mikasi up and down skeptically, carefully spying his body language as he replied. It was almost rambling the way he repeated parts of his reply. The girl put her hands on his hips as the other continued to explain what he was doing in the area, her partner nidoran♀ relaxing from her battle ready stance to sit on her haunches and scratch an ear. When he posed his initial question her lips skewed to the side. It was clear she wasn't really thinking to hard on the answer, but was instead considering how to say no without being too off-putting. Luckily he followed up with something more reasonable. "Wellll," she began, letting the last syllable drag on as she considered her available time. She moved her arms into a more contemplative posture, one finger touching her chin with the other hand supporting the elbow at her chest. Mikasi then added to his request with an innocent chime. "Why not." Her shoulders shrugged lightly and her gaze fell to her poison pokémon. The stubby mouse-like creature twisted her head around and blinked at her trainer. She didn't seem to mind either way. "Sure kid. Mikasi was it?" she paused to adjust her posture to something a bit more open. "Randi and I could spare some time and warm up a bit. Nothing like a low-stakes battle to get the blood flowing."Randi the nidoran stood back up and nattered happily. She stepped forward and took up a spot between the two trainers to ready for the upcoming battle. "My name's Nikki by the way," the ranger added, pausing but a second. "Whenever you're ready."((Just setup so next mod had it easier, you don't have to use onix -- but if you do make sure to pick an ability! :3))Wild Encounter Weather: Flooding [attr="class","qkt-bkgd"] [attr="class","qkt-wild-pkmn"] [attr="class","qkt-clip"]Randi LV 6 HP 100% [24/24] [attr="class","qkt-wild-imgbox"] [attr="class","qkt-pkmn-img"] [attr="class","qkt-trainer-pkmn"] [attr="class","qkt-clip"]Rocko LV 5 HP 100% [20/20] [attr="class","qkt-trainer-imgbox"] [attr="class","qkt-pkmn-img"] Randi [Rivalry] (SPD 11): Normal ... (wooops... totally forgot. Will go to sturdy for Onix.)
Well it might of not been his best speech but it got what he'd wanted out of it. She wasn't talking about him needing to leave and she was giving him the pokemon battle he wanted. As long as you get the results you want its a win, right?
Mikasi smiled when she took up the offer. "Excellent!" He pulled out the pokeball containing Onix, releasing it so that the large rock pokemon appeared and of course his lower portion in the mud. It wasn't going to be great for speed with its weight against it in the mud, but it also would have an advantage type wise over Randi at least on defense. The question then went to also who was more skilled. "Hey there Onix. A little muddy for your first battle, but I doubt you'll have any problems with it." Actually - this was his first battle with another trainer so he was all types of nervous. He needed to win this! He could pull out Mud of course to not be hindered with water but it didn't have the type advantage that Onix had. Besides, Onix looked cooler.
"Thanks Nikki,"
"Alright Onix, try and use bind on the Nidoran" Mikasi pointed to the nidoran as if it wasn't obvious where it was. It just seemed the thing to do. Mikasi figured if Onix could get the Nidoran in a bind then his being slower in the mud wouldn't matter that much. Mikasi only wish he knew how talented the nidoran was. Bind wasn't all that strong of a move, if the Nidoran was strong enough it could still out match Onix despite his solid exterior.
"Onnnixx" A slow bass sound of response. Mikasi didn't have a feel for how the large pokemon felt about the situation. It was obeying and that was the most important part right?

As the battle began, Mikasi’s Onix would be the first to make a move. Even though being a literal snake made out of rocks, his speed would not be matched by the nidoran’s own. Even the ranger Nikki didn’t realize how one-sided a battle this would play out to be from the very beginning, but either way, she didn’t mind. It was meant to be a light-hearted battle, at least from her perspective, to get some fun going. As the snake made out of rock was quickly on approach to her nidoran, she quickly called out the only attacking move she knew. “Scratch, now nidoran!” It was too late. Rocko trapped the nidoran within its rock body, not allowing it to leave while squeezing it. The nidoran felt quite a bit of damage from the bind. “Nidoran, hang in there!” Nikki called out. There was no chance even for the tiny poison-type to escape from the grasps of the ginormous onix. Is there any word quite meant to describe something that is twenty seven feet taller than you and living? “Scratch your way out of it!” The nidoran tried to scratch her way out of the bind, but it was to no avail. The onix barely felt the scratches. "Nido-..." Her pokemon let out, already feeling weak from the bind. Alright! Mikasi watched the little nidoran scratching but not getting very far, "Good job Onix. Now, tackle attack. Just use your head to club it with." He imagined that was the best way. Mikasi had been worried the little Nidoran would have some secret powerful move to manage the Onix no matter how crazy that would seem. That wasn't the case. This battle was already won as far as he could tell!
He'd only used Onix this one first time and alread had plans to use him all the time. It was just too impressive a sight. He'd be the guy in team rocket with the most intimidating pokemon for sure. Apparently a bit of mud wasn't enough to bother Onix. Hopefully its attitude would prove to be as keen on battling as the pidgey. That would make the perfect pokemon wrapped in one bundle.
"ooonn.." That deep slow voice again as it continued to work on squeezing the nidoran as he attempted the tackle attack.

“Hang in there Nidoran!” Nikki called out to her Pokemon. It was struggling in the bind, and there was no way out. It looked like it was about to literally pop by the pressure of the rock snake’s body. Still trying desperately to escape, the nidoran didn’t even notice as the huge horned head of the onix came swinging down towards her, slamming into her body with its heavy head. The nidoran felt weak. Like it had no energy. “Nidoran, I believe in you!” The ranger called out to her Pokemon. “Keep trying to scratch your way out of the onix’s bind!” The nidoran did as instructed by her trainer, not much energy left to do anything else anyways. Her forelegs scratched as much as they could at the rock snake, but it seemed to have barely an effect on the rock snake, if any at all. The battle seemed quite one-sided at the moment. An experienced ranger, however, Nikki knew what her plan would be after her female nidoran fainted. Her other stronger nidoran knew a fighting-type move, which would hopefully help them win the fight. There was nothing her female nidoran would be able to do in the battle now, she was trapped. If the onix hadn't spooked the nidoran before now, in his grasp, it definitely did now. "nidoran..." The Pokemon let out weakly. Oh yah! This was going great so far! That nidoran was trapped with no hope for escape. Mikasi was going to win his very first battle against an opponent. Well, his pokemon were but the pokemon were tools for his own future. "You got it Onix, shouldn't take much more. Go ahead, hit her again with a tackle." Then glancing past the huge rock monster and its prey to Nikki, "Pretty impressive nidoran you have. Considering what its dealing with its still lasting well." Never a bad thing to offer out compliments. Especially if you are going to win.
Mikasi wasn't sure how much he'd ever really get a feel for Onix' personality. It didn't really show a lot of its emotion on that rocky head though it could be it was possible but not while fighting. It was also absurdly huge. The pidge or charmander he could just have walking alongside him but Onix was a more complex matter. Still, Mikasi loved the size and power of his Onix, its what dreams were made of!
"Onn....ixx.." Kind of like a lazy old man with that voice, but was that personality or just how it sounded? Either way it was willing to do as said and would attempt another tackle attack.

The Pokemon Ranger watched her Nidoran struggle in vain against the sturdy rock snake. The way the granite stone Pokemon had its linked rocky tail perfectly encased around her small blue poison rabbit seemed to almost spell the end for any chance at Randi’s once promising victory or win. She only needed her Pokemon to hang in there a bit longer though. The blue poison rabbit’s feet seemed to squirm and wriggle, as the Onix held its grip steadfast on the other Pokemon. The eerie sound of Ouuoouuii – something of a name, of ‘ Onix’ – lingered in the air as if only to torment after her Pokemon. “And your Onix. Uh…Mikasi? That’s a pretty impressive rock type ya got there. It ain’t ‘round from these parts though. I’m guessin’ ya came from a mountain somewhere?” She prodded, trying to figure out how a whole rocky snake was casually stuck in the middle of a battle with her Nidoran. She’d come across one before – a while back – but only when she faced off with an experienced Mountaineer. Oh, the shudder! “Randi, can ya hear me gurl? Switch up with a Growl! May that’ll help ya!” She called to her Pokemon, using whatever was left of her hope that Randi could turn this around to cheer her on. Meanwhile, Rocko moved in effortlessly. With its opponent still trapped within its reaches, the large rock snake slammed its granite noggin against the other Pokemon. Randi squealed out in a shriek of horror and pain. It’s voice, once only resonating with the pain that was inflicted, would deepen into a guttural snarl. It hurt and in pain, the blue poison rabbit did her best as she growled menacingly at her opponent. This thing was not letting go! And the longer the Onix held on – OUCH! And the harder it squeezed! The more desperate and fearful the Nidoran was becoming.
