It was all Vitra could do, as she left the lab, clutching her very first Pokemon. All hers! She might have bonded some with the Pokemon from her parents' farm, but they had always looked to her father before anyone else. But this Bulbasaur wouldn't look to anyone else. She couldn't help a grin, hugged the Pokeball to her chest for a moment, and then released the female Bulbasaur before tucking the ball into her bag.
Vitra knelt down and rested a hand on the grass Pokemon's head. "Hi there. I'm Vitra, your trainer, and I'm going to call you Midori."
"Bulba," the Pokemon answered, setting a foot on her knee and nudging Vitra's hand, encouraging pats, which the girl obliged.
"And we're going to see so much- go so many places. If you want to come with me. Are you ready?"
"Bulba!" came the reply, and the grass-type gamboled in a circle, clearly excited at the invitation; she looked back at Vitra and the girl grinned wider.
"Okay, then let's go!" Straightening, Vitra set off with Midori trotting along beside her, the two taking the first steps on their journey.

Clear skies and a nice slight breeze would provide a wonderful day for the beginning of the young girl’s adventure. Pokemon were lively on the route, joyous sounds of Pokemon and maybe even some trainers could be heard in the distance - strange enough, it would’ve been hard to make out between the two, Pokemon or human, with how far ahead the sounds were. Not all the Pokemon were distant however. In the somewhat tall grass by where Vitra and Midori were moving along, a rustling sound could be heard. A curious Pokemon was on the prowl, interested in seeing who the newcomers were. Two objects would poke their way out from the grass, both pink and brown in color. It would be revealed to be a sentret’s ears as the Pokemon revealed itself, walking on all fours as it exited the grass. It approached Vitra and her own Pokemon with a sense of caution. Once in front of them, the sentret looked up to the trainer’s eyes, then to her Pokemon’s eyes. “Sen-- Sentret?” The Pokemon stood up on its hind legs and tilted its ears, as if it was surprised to see a bulbasaur on the route. Its ears resumed their proper position, and then the Pokemon let out a gleeful cheer. “Sentret!” Another Pokemon would reveal itself as the reason why the sentret was cautious at first. The pink colored rat would approach slowly from behind the wild sentret, unnoticeable to the Pokemon but definitely noticeable to the trainer and her bulbasaur. The rattata tackled the sentret from behind onto the ground. Although it was smaller than the other wild Pokemon, it definitely seemed to have had the advantage with the surprise attack. The sentret was in shock, not expecting the hit. “Sentret!” It let out a little cry as it looked to the trainer for some sort of help. The rattata simply smirked towards the sentret. The wild Sentret (level 3) is being bullied by the Rattata (level 2) and is looking to Vitra for help! Will Vitra and Midori help out the poor sentret and stop the rattata?Shiny check: Te8cKiSy1-421-421-42·1-42

It hadn't taken long for Midori to display her curious side, roaming side to side along the path. She kept close to Vitra, who kept a constant eye on her starter as she walked along, thrilled at the start she'd had. The weather was good, the sounds of pokemon and other trainers audible all around her, and for a moment Vitra began to hum.
She stopped when Midori gave an exclamation- "Bul-bah!" and glanced back, her blue eyes widening at the sight of the Sentret. The furry brown pokemon seemed friendly enough, looking back and forth between Vitra and Midori. The appearance of the Rattata was unexpected, its attack on the Sentret seemingly unprovoked, and Vitra knew she couldn't stand by and do nothing.
"Hey!" she called, waving her hands and heading toward the two with Midori hovering close at her side, warily eyeing the Rattata. "Leave that Sentret alone, you bully!"

Despite how young and inexperience the small, quadruped rodent Pokémon was, it certainly knew precisely how to be a pest, it had made a living so far of making other wild pokemon's lives a living hell. The mouse with the purple fur's speciality was getting in a cheeky sneak attack while its intended target was unaware, just as it had done to the small pokemon covered in brown fur. Furret, the evolution of Sentret was well known as the predator of Rattata and so the purple rodent was simply getting some payback on this young scout pokemon before it evolved and made its life miserable. The wild Sentret had seemingly let its guard down after having noticed Midori, a mistake that caused it to be hit from behind. The devious mind of mouse pokemon was filled with bad thoughts of how it could make the scout pokemon's life a misery, that was until Vitra and her pokemon partner decided to intervene.
The wild Rattata did not look at all impressed by the sudden interruption, it had gained an early advantage over the wild Sentret, albeit via a very despicable tactic. Sentret had a relieved look on its face as it realised that the human and her partner had been kind enough to intervene at just the right time, it was sure that had they not acted on the situation things may have taken a dire turn for the worst. Rattata diverted its attention away from its original target in Sentret and set its sights on Vitra's Bulbasaur as it gnawed its large teeth towards the seed pokemon as if to issue a challenge.
The wild Rattata (level 2) doesn't like to be interrupted and now wants to fight! Will Vitra and Midori step up to the challenge?

Maybe she shouldn't have intervened, but it was too late now- and the Sentret had asked her for help. How could she turn her back on that and walk away? "It's okay," she assured the Sentret, and smiled. Maybe, her mind supplied, taking wing with hopes, maybe it would be so appreciative that it would decide to come with her on its own? She wouldn't mind a Sentret at all. But, first things first, and the young trainer turned her attention back to the Ratatta as it faced her, grinding its teeth in challenge.
Midori didn't need Vitra's guidance to understand the Rattata's intent, and she marched forward with a quiet growl, more than willing to take up the challenge. Vitra was right behind her, thrilled at this next first, coming so soon after obtaining Midori. A battle! Against a Rattata, sure, but it was still her very first, and she had every confidence in her starter, that Midori could beat this Rattata and help her catch it. "We'll make sure this one doesn't bother you any more!" she called to the Sentret, and then gave her first move in her very first battle. "Midori, tackle!"
Without a second's pause, the Bulbasaur dove forward, obeying the directive and aiming to crash headfirst with the small mouse-type.

The sentret found a great sense of comfort in the girl’s smile and reassuring tone. It was confident that they could save them from the evil little mouse. The rattata seemed to scoff at the girl as she assured the sentret’s safety. It wasn’t going to let this trainer or her grass-type stop it from doing what it wanted. No one was allowed to tell this rattata what to do. It snarled a bit. As Vitra turned her attention to the devious little rat, It took that as the acceptance of the challenge. There wouldn’t be any backing out now for Midori. “Rattata!” It let out some sort of battle cry as the challenge began. The rattata would begin a charge that seemed somewhat fast in the moment towards Midori, but it wasn’t fast enough. Midori would prove to be much quicker as its large bulbous body slammed into the rat, sending it flying onto the ground. It quickly got up from the path, quickly shaking itself off. It looked around a bit, really hoping no one had seen the hit it had just taken. It gave an angered glare towards the bulbasaur and her trainer. “Rat-- tata!” It said angrily, as it charged back towards the Pokemon as fast as it could. The rat Pokemon slammed into the grass-type that was twice the size of it, but it wasn’t able to do much. Midori hadn’t taken much damage from the hit. The sentret watched, impressed with the power of the bulbasaur. It was somewhat in awe of the trainer. Wild Pokemon Battle - Route 29 Weather Status: Clear Rattata | Level 2 | ?? The Rattata's tenacity, despite its attempt to pick on the Sentret impressed Vitra. She wouldn't allow it to bully the brown pokemon, but she had every intention of attempting a catch. Midori's attack connected, sending the slender creature flying. It was up on its feet quickly enough, hardly seeming to mind the fact that it'd been flung away, and came charging back with a squeak of fury. It collided with the Bulbasaur, barely shifting the squat grass-type; Midori looked down at it dismissively.
"Give it another tackle, Midori!" Vitra called, and reached into her pack to pull out a pokeball. She glanced aside at the Sentret again, amused at how it seemed to be watching the battle as well, instead of taking off back into the grass, with the Rattata distracted by the battle. If she had to, could Midori take on another so soon- or would she even have to? The Sentret seemed rather at ease around Vitra... maybe it belonged to someone? Or maybe it had been released and this familiarity was a result of that?
"Bulbasaur!" came the agreeable reply as Midori repeated her attack, barreling toward the smaller rat with speed, and Vitra's attention snapped back to the battle as she awaited the outcome.

The short fur on the rodent's back bristled. It glared at the young girl and her stout cabbage, one eye nearly twitching as its mind whirred noisily. Its squeaky nattering was the chorus between each verse of the battle. A steady repetition of blows and panting as the two broke away to allow a moment of reassessment. The rattata's nostrils flared, followed by a wriggle of its nose and whiskers. As the wild pokémon continued to stare between the interlopers and its prey it couldn't help but notice the brightly colored sphere enter the girl's hands. Rattata's body tensed. Its tiny claws digging further into the soft ground and its tail going ever higher into the air. If that was how she was going to try and stop it then it certainly wouldn't go without fighting bucktooth and nail... but she didn't. The budding trainer called for the next attack. The purple rat blinked in surprise. It wasn't ready! In a slight panic its brain muddled between what it should do in response. On the sidelines Sentret cupped its claws and shook up and down in a silent cheer as the bulbasaur powered forward. A soft thud as each foot hit the ground in her charge. Bright eyes sparkling with hope it observed the grass pokémon and rat collide head on. Midori had a significant weight advantage, easily overcoming the opposing tackle with barely an effect whilst Rattata was rebounded back once again. The scout pokémon couldn't help but squeal gleefully as it saw: the final shreds of its bully's consciousness barely clinging to the light of day. Rattata stumbled back on shaky legs, but those red eyes still held a fire as it squinted determinedly at Midori and the others in its company. Midori's second attack was as successful as the first, her body striking squarely against the Rattata's, and the little pokemon tumbled away. It looked visibly shaky now, but it still got to its paws and stood. Defiantly it faced the trainer, the Bulbasaur, and the Sentret it had been stalking- who had outright cheered at the Bulbasaur's second tackle, looking all too gleeful at its bully getting a taste of its own medicine.
Vitra watched, hesitating a moment- making Midori attack a third time felt incredibly unnecessary- cruel, even. "Midori, that's enough. Come on." With the faintest of grumbles the Bulbsaur returned to Vitra's side, and as it settled down, the young trainer threw the Pokeball she'd been holding. There was plenty of fight left in that Rattata, despite being weakened- it wasn't enough to resist capture, surely? She was definitely going to have to get it healed up pretty quick. Her aim, as she threw, was true, and she sucked in her breath, hoping for an easy end to this encounter- for all of them.

Shaky still, the rodent Pokemon turned its head towards the sentret. The cheers from the sentret. This wasn’t supposed to happen. The rattata was supposed to win. It was supposed to be stronger. It let out a little rat-like hiss towards the sentret, and as it did so, the weak rattata failed to notice the ball flying towards its head. It let out a surprised look as it entered the capsule. The ball would wiggle as the Pokemon weakly struggled to escape, but it was futile. After a few wiggles, the rattata would give up and come to agreement with its new fate as a trainer’s Pokemon. It was certainly not how it expected its day to go, that was for sure. More squealing came from the much excited sentret. It bounced up onto its tail, approaching Midori and her trainer. The bully was defeated! It no longer had to worry about that mean rattata. “Sen- sentret!” The sentret said as it bounced closer to them. It turned and pointed its little arms towards the Pokeball holding the rat Pokemon, and then pointed at itself. “Sentret!” It wasn’t going to let Vitra leave without it, it seemed. It really wanted to come with. The scout Pokemon still carried a happy little smile that would've been almost impossible to say no to. Wiggle....
Wiggle....
Wiggle....

Vitra waited, hands curled into fists at her side, as she watched the pokeball contact and draw the Rattata inside. It wiggled a few times, the feisty rodent clearly making one last effort, but then it fell still and silent. Pride warmed the girl and she threw her arms up with the biggest grin yet lighting up her face before moving to pick up the pokeball with her new Rattata. "You fought well. I'll take you to get healed soon, so just rest now." She shrunk the pokeball down and then knelt, turning her smile on to the Sentret who'd been standing by this whole time, her gaze following the pointed gesture toward the pokeball and then itself. "You want to come with me too?" she asked. Shrugging off her pack, she stowed the first pokeball and withdrew another. She set it down and nudged it, sending it rolling toward the Sentret- letting it decide for itself if it wanted to come with her or change its mind to return to the wild. She'd love to have it, though. Midori, her attention wandering now that the battle was over, was sprawled in a patch of grass and watching, enjoying the sun and peace for the moment but ready to hop up again when Vitra was set to continue on. The Sentret hardly budged as the pokeball bumped into it, and Vitra waited as he vanished inside. There was only a couple faint twitches before it stilled, and Vitra rose to pick up this pokeball as well, tucking it away carefully before going back to where Midori was lying and sprawling out next to her for a moment. Just for a moment, to enjoy the successful capture of two Pokemon, and then she sat up, reaching to nudge the grass-type alert, and rose. She still had to get that Rattata seen to, and the sooner the better, for its sake. The sentret nodded part of its upper body in confirmation of the trainer’s question. “Sen-- Sentret!” It would love to go out and explore the world with the young reddish-brown-haired trainer and her bulbasaur. That would also mean that it would likely be traveling along with the very same rattata that had been bullying it, but that didn’t bother it so much. The Pokemon was certain from the previous actions of the trainer that Vitra would keep it safe from any more of the rat Pokemon’s little ‘games’, and from any other bullies that could bother it for that matter. The sentret would squeal a little in excitement again as it became shrouded in light. It would then seemingly get sucked into the ball, to find its own little home inside the Pokeball. It wouldn’t budge at all -- Certainly by no means meant the scout Pokemon was calm however. It was quite excited for the journey ahead. A few seconds of silence - then an audible ting! from the red and white capsule would break the silence, assuring the young trainer that the Pokemon capture had been a success. .....
