Name: Austin Nichols
Trainer Type: Lone Wolf
Hometown: Ecruteak City, Johto
Appearance: This less-than-noble young adult stood a few inches above six feet, a slight hunch in his back kept him from the zenith of his full length. Poor posture wasn't the only thing that plagued the honeysuckle-eyed man, his shaggy hair drooped casually against his face in a way that felt permanent and a mean mug caused most people to keep their distance. Austin had an olive complexion, a mutt of sorts, with an elongated frame and features that settled into the more manly body that blossomed later in life. The man loved nice things and often wore an elongated gold dewdrop off both ears, following the harsh lines of his jaw and a black turtleneck with an ivory crop top cut right below the chest and wide-brimmed jeans that kept his frame mostly ambiguous.
His features were quite striking - dark eyebrows against his light gaze, a small pursed lips against an angled jaw. Often times he would simply wear the turtleneck if the weather was kind or shift to a black t-shirt and shorts if summer hit early and he had been in the tropical area of Johto. Austin hadn't been a stickler for detail, he mostly wore and did exactly what he wanted to without the rhyme or reasons other may have had in choosing their aesthetic.
All in all, most people couldn't help a quick glance at the darker lad for the amalgamation that created him. He was most things that people had misguidedly labeled him. Austin's darker complexion and features lended to him being remised or called out. Luckily for him, what he looked like was the least of his concerns and what others would think was something he truly didn't take into consideration.
Personality:He could be as kind as he was vile. Most thought him to be as a snake would, coiled up with toxins ready to strike at a moment's notice. But this wasn't Austin, the way the sun would beam and reflect against his honey gaze when playing with the hoothoot of the forests. He grew up a blank slate as everyone else did. Childhood churning on him like a twisted stomach, morphing and stressing coal until it turned into diamond or cracked under the pressure. And now? He figured himself a type of gem. He relied solely on himself. Through the toughness of life, it was simply what had to happen for him to be able to survive. A charmer of sorts, there is a duality between roughness and softness that Austin possesses and exploits for his own gain. The key to it all though is that he never allows himself to get attached, connected or close to others. They are what made him weak and the space in-between is what gave him strength. He knew it to be true, the feeling settled deep within the core of his bones and it lasted him this long, it was obviously working.History: Austin was born of a teenage pregnancy. It wasn't love, it was awkward expectations and hitched breaths with children preforming as adults would. They were in a fairy tale, pretending they could make it last and in the very beginning it seemed as though it was going to happen. Their tiny breeding farm was growing at a pace to sustain their tiny family and when Austin turned two, his younger sibling was born and the additional mouth to feed only created more division. It wasn't until Austin was 5 that he knew what hunger felt like, actual hunger and the pang of wanting to eat something so bad that tears were eminent. Their parents just couldn't provide for them and so they decided to split, Austin would be with his mother and his father would go off with his youngest sibling to make it somewhere. He couldn't even remember a single detail, everything when he thought back to this time felt like a haze. They stayed in Ecruteak City as his mother applied to work as a server with the Kimono girls, paying not very well but it was better than nothing. Austin grew up at the hand of these kind ladies watching him and teaching him community in a way he hadn't expected. It's why he holds a soft place in his heart for dancers, those women who entertain to support their families.Sooner or later his mother got promoted and they had just enough coming in to finally be comfortable. Austin signed up for pokemon trainer school at the age of 12 and that's when he learned two things: he had been pretty good at pokemon and he hated how he felt when he was competing. It was like nothing else mattered, he would practically do anything to win and he even stole this girl's pokeballs and hid them so she couldn't practice for a day. It made him feel grotesque, but the others at this school were just as vicious. The school only brought out the most elitism of their students and Austin hadn't lasted too long before he got kicked out at 16. Feeling this connection to his mother and the girls, he had picked up shifts at the Kimono Girl shop and worked their full-time while his mother began to get sick.Four years is all the time he had left with her, keeping her comfortable and making sure she had no additional wants. He was a good son but now he has the big decision to make on what is he truly after now that he has no earthly tethers tying him to anything specific. What would he decide to do and would he want to make something of himself? Only time would tell.
Goals: Start to thrive and not simply survive.
