Having recently defeated the alolan trial just off the path of Route 29, Tristan was beaming with positivity as he continued his travels. With a new partner in the form of Poseidon the Remoraid now officially a part of his team and a shiny amulet that would assist in attracting pokemon native to that region towards him, things were indefinitely looking good for him. Tristan had gotten a notification on his pokedex that a fellow known as 'Andy the Kindler' was looking to trade his Lotad for a Zigzagoon, that was music to Tristan's ears as the teenage male was always seemingly interested in expanding his team with more water type pokemon.
After a short stop in Cherrygrove City's pokemon centre for he and his pokemon to rest and refresh, Tristan set out in search of a wild Zigzagoon in the city of Cherrygrove. The notification that Tristan had received on his pokedex had indicated that the trade was a 'first in best dressed' style situation, so finding the normal type raccoon like pokemon in as short a time as possible was going to be instrumental if Tristan was actually going to add a Lotad to his ever expanding team of water type pokemon.

It wasn't often that Zigzagoon were sought after. Many trainers saw the Pokemon as boring, a pest even, to the route. They were fodder for trained Pokemon to get stronger, but nothing else. Who really had room on their team for a Linoone? The little racoons were good at zigzagging their way into basements to rifle through trash bins as well as steal berries from gardens without getting caught due to their unpredictable gait, but never sought out to catch. So of course, as Hunter began searching in Cherrygrove for that exact Pokemon, the striped quadruped was a bit surprised to say the least. Recognizing it's name, if little else, made it incredibly curious to the young mans intentions. What did he have planned for the spunky little Pokemon? Almost lured to Hunter via siren call, the little Zigzagoon began to slowly inch forward out of it's den (a very well put-together cardboard box), still hidden to Hunter in his attempts to look. A trash bag rustled. Zigzagoon was still. Hunter's search for a Pokemon had also garnered the attention of something else. Curious if there was a Zigzagoon foolish enough to answer the call of the trainer, the sharp eyes of an Ekans scanned the alleyway as Hunter passed by. With a sharp hiss, Ekans began to slink forward, eyes on the prize. Hunter's pokeballs. Surely something good was inside, yes? The Ekans could smell fish, and that meant dinner. Perhaps if this Ekans was gone, it would be easier for more Zigzagoon to show up! Surely a predator of this nature would be quite the deterrent. Ekans (Level 7) is looking for an easy meal! What will you do?

Tristan had enlisted the assistance of the newest member of his team in Poseidon the Remoraid to assist him in his search of Zigzagoon, the light-blue fishline pokemon's species was often referred to as the 'snipers of the seas', the blonde haired teenage male was certainly keen to put that notion to the test. The tiny raccoon pokemon was more elusive to find than Tristan had initially thought, after all most trainers simply ignored the normal type pokemon or made light work of it in battle, so for a trainer to be specifically going out of his way to find one was not the average scene that one would expect to see.
Both Tristan and Poseidon had initially been unaware of the impending danger that surrounded them in the form of a wild Ekans whom had been eagerly eyeing off the light-blue fishlike pokemon and the pokeballs attached to Tristan's belt as a mid-day meal. It wasn't until the purple snake pokemon was at close quarters and a hissing sound could be heard that Poseidon felt totally uneasy. The jet pokemon closed his eyes and concentrated as to where the hissing sound was originating from, the pokemon's was trying it's absolute hardest to conceal its presence as much as possible, however Poseidon was able to deduce that whoever or whatever was stalking them was coming from behind and had possibly been lurking in the alleyway that Poseidon and his trainer had just passed. Poseidon turned and noticed a purple serpentine pokemon with yellow eyes that looked overly eager to have a seafood lunch. Poseidon's saucer-like eyes begun to glow blue as a blue aura surrounded it, what it was about to unleash was one of the most renowned psychic type moves around, it was to be a true showcase to Tristan just how powerful this tiny fish pokemon truly was.

The snake, ready for easy pickings on a quick seafood dinner was not prepared for the fish to actually fight back. Fish were food, not anything that were capable of doing anything to the superior predator! Maybe a Sharpedo, but this was a silly Remoraid! The trainer didn't seem bothered though, shouldn't this man be bothered he was about to lose one of his precious Pokemon? Perhaps if it was holding an item, Ekans could spit it out for the man to recollect. It was the least the benevolent snake could do, since the young man did bring it dinner...
That was certainly not the case.
Why were the eyes glowing? Remoraid always had strange eyes, judging by some of the fish it had seen in the markets, but they'd never glow like that... It was about that time the world around Ekans turned the same hue as its body was completely encompassed in the psychic energy. Without so much as another word, Remoraid began to slam the snake around the alleyway, head knocking this way and that. By the time the attack was over, Ekans was limp and ragged as Remoraid blinked. The same, wide eyes returned without any color. The battle had been won, and at little to no cost for the trainer and his magnificent water Pokemon. 91% chance to OHKO OeTmxAoK1-100
Victory! Poseidon fought valiantly, and has vanquished the serpentine foe! Poseidon gained +2 levels, and is now Level 11! 1-100

The overly confident purple snake pokemon had picked the wrong pokemon to try and make a meal out of on this day as it quite simply lost control of a situation that had previously appeared to be solely in its favour. Poseidon's dominant Psychic attack had the wild Ekans flinging around the alleyway like the soft hammers that would be used in the arcade game 'whack a mole' as the purple snake lost control of its own body throughout the duration of the psychic attack. The purple snake pokemon succumbed to the extensive amount of pain that had completely engulfed its body as it's consciousness was lost, a swift victory for the newest member of Tristan's team of water type pokemon and a definitive statement to say the least.
The facial expression that Tristan had after witnessing exactly what he had just witness painted an ample picture as to how truly dominant Poseidon was in battle. The light-blue fishlike pokemon's physical appearance wasn't exactly a menacing one, the power that it possessed however was something to behold, a true representation of the old saying to never judge a book by its cover. Tristan smile and nodded encouragement towards Poseidon as he motioned for the fishlike pokemon to continue alongside him in search for a wild Zigzagoon.

It might still be too early for zigzagoons to be out if they were scared of getting eaten by the ekans, or perhaps they mostly lived in another part of the city? What did zigzagoon need to make a living? What was their foodsource in here? Did they have certain places they would prefer to nest in, what could give them best shelter? There were a lot of question which might wasn't asked, and perhaps none of them were needed as they might just run around all over the place by random and you could run into them anywhere. No matter what, the bottom line right now was that there were no zigzagoons in sight. Tristan and his pokemon had reached an area of Cherrygroove which was most for living. A lot of houses with small gardens (and flowers) were lining the street and several families were out an about in the nice weather. Kids were playing in their gardens and on the street, and the adults were either relaxing or doing lesser chores. A nearby man was hanging up clothes to dry, when a taillow sneaked in close and snatched on of the socks and flew off with it. The man didn't notice at first but when he ended up with a single not long after, he began to look around confused. Tristan would hear flapping of wings and a moment later the taillow landed on his bag and tried to get the sock to stick. It had an eager expression and looked like it was about to start laughing out loud at any moment. Did the taillow try make it look like Tristan had taken the man's sock? As Tristan continued to explore Cherrygrove City he found himself in what seemed to be a housing estate area that was filled with life in the form of young children playing around on the streets and the nice weather seemed to radiate off the gardens that surrounded the local houses. Everything was seemingly peaceful, that was never a good sign in reality as things usually more often than not would take a turn for the worst within the world of pokemon.
A cheeky young Tailow had decided on its own that it wanted to disrupt the peacefulness that encapsulated this area of Cherrygrove City. The tiny swallow pokemon had stolen a single sock from a locals clothes line and made a b-line for Tristan as the dark blue feathered small bird pokemon found a place to perch on Tristan's backpack. Tailow was attempting to plant the evidence in the form of the sock on Tristan's being, Poseidon the Remoraid however was having none of this non-sense much like he wasn't going to stand for the Ekans' actions from before. Poseidon's saucer-like eyes begun to glow blue as a blue aura surrounded it, his all powerful psychic attack was being prepared to stop the troublemaker Tailow in his tracks.

This was perfect! The man would soon start to look around and then he would spot the sock on Tristan and then the fun things would begin! Of course the taillow didn't want them to get really angry, so it planned on revealing it was the culprit pretty fast but it couldn't wait to see the result of this little trick. It knew the man already and he had been nice and feeding it, and had laughed at the other small things it had done, so it didn't doubt that it would be the end result of this one as well. The bird glanced over at the man in the garden, he was lifting his basket upside down and looked around in the grass in the expectations to find the missing sock laying around. The taillow tried to hurry up but it was really hard to get the wet sock to not slide down from Tristan's bag, and it didn't have any knowledge about trying knots. The taillow noticed a movement and paused to look at the remoraid, who look at it with glowing eyes. It didn't have time to this now and it growled at the fish to keep him away and then turned back to the task at hand. But then it got really dizzy and it lost its balance, it spun and flailed as it chirped in confusion. What was going on? It had never tried mental attacks before and had no experience with what was going on and it was getting scared. To avoid falling and to find something solid to focus on, with its beak, it grabbed hold of the closest thing in front of: Tristan's hair. The wild Taillow was a troublesome young trickster who was simply trying to play a prank that involved Tristan getting in trouble for something he didn't do in stealing a sock, Poseidon was having none of it however, the all business minded fish-like pokemon wasn't one for messing around. Taillow had been actively trying to create a scene for the man who had been hanging his washing up to notice.
The wild Taillow growled towards Poseidon the Remoraid in hopes of keeping the water type pokemon at bay. Poseidon didn't need to be at close quarters to effectively execute its all powerful psychic type manoeuvre as Taillow looked groggy under the impressive mental control that Poseidon currently possessed over it. As the flying type pokemon begun to fall the spot on Tristan's backpack that it had been perched upon, it used its beak to grab a hold of the blonde haired male's hair. Tristan grunted in response as his arms begun to flail behind him in an attempt to manually remove the wild Taillow's grasp upon his hair, Poseidon however was already working to assist his trainer as the water type pokemon released a spiral of water from its mouth that was aimed towards the wild Taillow. The scene unfolding was sure to be quite the sight to behold should the clothesline man decide to show up on site.

The fun was quickly going out of the situation for the taillow, its head cleared pretty quickly but then it had hands waving around terrifying close and it puffed itself up and opened its beak threateningly to try chase off the attacker. It had no clue of what was going on, nor how its funny little trick could have turned this badly so quickly. And most important of all, how should it get out of it? Poseidon came to the rescue, although the taillow probably would have preferred another action to be taken than what happened. The Water Gun's aim was incredible precise as it shot close by Tristan without hitting him, and blasting the taillow off him and into the air where it flailed around not knowing what was up and down, before it dumped down on the ground and laid still. "Don't hurt it! Don't hurt it!" A voice shouted frantically and the man rushed out of his garden to try mend any hard feelings and protect his little friend from further harm. "Please! Whatever it was doing, it was all in good fun, its young and doesn't know better!" He pleaded and didn't realize that he was now stepping on his own missing sock, surely making it need another washing. Poseidon blasted his way to victory and grows +2 levels to [lvl 13]! He can learn Psybeam if he forgets another move! (ooc: you can catch the taillow if you want to, but I guess you aren't interested? If you for some reason should be, let me know and I'll give you the code and add it to your party/box)

Posiedon had taken total control of the rather wild situation that was playing out in front of him. After maintaining a level of mental control over his flying type opponent with his powerful Psychic attack, the fish like pokemon fired off a dead accurate spiral of water that halted any more troublemaking behaviour coming from the wild Taillow as it fell to the ground, unconscious after only two attacks from Poseidon, a true display of how strong the still young Remoraid was already. A middle aged man rushed out from his garden asking for Tristan and his water type pokemon to spare the troublesome flying type pokemon, the blonde haired young male nodded his head in acknowledgment of the man's request and motioned for Poseidon to follow him as they moved away from the scene.
The simple misunderstanding had gone oh, so wrong for the playful Taillow, not that Tristan could have been any wiser to the situation as Poseidon had swiftly dealt with what he had indefinitely deemed a 'problem'. Tristan's no-nonsense water type pokemon's thirst for battle had worked out thus far but there was no guarantee that his act first, ask questions later approach could lead to some sticky situations down the line, that was something Tristan would have to work on with time. Despite having made light work of the wild Taillow, Posiedon was keeping a keen look-out ahead for any potential threats to his trainer, meanwhile Tristan's goals were a little simpler then that, all he was after was a Zigzagoon, and the pesky normal type pokemon seemed to not be native to the area with how little Tristan had come across it's species thus far.

The man was quick to pick up the taillow when Tristan accepted to leave the bird alone, and he rushed it back to his house, sock all forgotten on the ground. It probably didn't interest Tristan much anyway, it was not a water type and it was not the pokemon he was searching for. As for the zigzagoon, it did really look like it wasn't native to the area. There were plenty of other pokemon around, tons of taillows and even more spearows. Tristan had even met one of the more more uncommon in ekans which others had to search for to find, but the pesky zigzagoon which most inhabitants of the city wanted long gone, or at least a lower number of, was no where to be seen. That was probably why sender of the request was asking for help instead of just finding one themselves. It would be at least half an hour, maybe more before Tristan would spot something interesting. The area he was in was of the same type as before, small houses with small pretty gardens, with bushes and fences surrounding them and parting one garden from the neighboring. A bush suddenly shuffled a bit down along a fence to stay still and fall in with the surroundings again. Upon closer inspection it had a bit of a strange branch sticking out, full of mos and shrubbery, and fur. A pair of beady eyes blinked slowly inside the bush and a little nose twitched. It was a zigzagoon! It was disguised! That was why Tristan hadn't seen any of the normal types, and probably why they were doing so great in the city, hiding right under people's noses. Although this one still had something to learn, as it had broken the illusion by moving. Who knew how many others were hiding around? How many of the bushes and such were actually zigzagoons? Zigzagoon [lvl 7] failed at hiding as all its friends. Shiny: eQilmJDz1-421-42

The wild Taillow had been more than a simple distraction for Tristan amongst the monotonous searching for a Zigzagoon, the lopsided battle had provided Poseidon with valuable training experience as well as the water type pokemon continuing to showcase his talents to his trainer. Poseidon was filled with confidence, he felt like a true force that wasn't to be messed with as his thirst for battle continued to remain unquenched.
Tristan and Poseidon continued the fruitless search for a wild Zigzagoon, the normal type raccoon pokemon was about as common as seeing a pig fly at this point in time, or at least that's what Tristan thought. Tristan found himself searching in an area with small houses that showcased small but pretty gardens that separated neighbouring houses from each other. Everything had been so silent and motionless the longer the search continued, that was until a single bush begun to shuffle, a completely out of the place action that caught they of Tristan immediately as he and Poseidon had been scanning the area.
Upon inspection of the strange branch sticking out, Tristan had a sneaking suspicion that it belonged to the exact racoon pokemon that he had been diligently searching for. Tristan turned to Posiedon and held his hand with palm extended as if to motion for the water type pokemon to stop, the fish-like pokemon was no doubt thinking about unleashing his offensive arsenal upon the new development that was still attempting to disguise itself within the bush. Instead of approaching the situation in an aggressive manner Tristan retrieved a primarily blue ball with two red lines diagonally stretched along it and tossed it in the direction of the bush in hopes that he wouldn't have to damage the potential trade asset.

The zigzagoon had no idea that it had been revealed, it had been living like this for quite some time, and it had always worked. That was probably why it had become a bit careless and had made it possible for Tristan to spot it. It had been taught how to disguise itself since it had hatched and lived with its parents, it hadn't asked why, since that was just how it was and how they lived. It had seen plenty of times where other non-hiding wild pokemon had been engaged in battles by trainers, or had had fights with other wild pokemon, to see it as a proof this was the right way to live. Peaceful and out of sight, it could do whatever it wanted as long as it was quiet about it. It had seen Tristan and Poseidon and their staring at it should have been a dead giveaway, but as it hadn't experienced being noticed before, it didn't think much of it. It assumed they would walk off in a moment like everyone else. It felt something hit its rear end but didn't react, that had been the hardest part of the training back then, to stay still when something happened around and not run off in panic. This time it was the wrong choice though as it got sucked inside, much to its surprise. It struggled hard, and the great ball almost didn't made it, but it endured and Tristan's search was over. Success! Poseidon watched quietly and grows +1 level to [lvl 14]! Tristan's instincts were proven to be true after all, the strange branch that had been awkwardly sticking out like a sore thumb was indeed the raccoon pokemon that he had been searching for. Poseidon had been keen to fight and wasn't overly pleased by his trainers decision to address the situation in front of them in a much more careful manner.
Tristan had tossed a red and blue spherical device in the direction of the normal type raccoon pokemon and the facial expression that the blonde haired male was exuding was one of surprise and a tad bit of remorse, the wild Zigzagoon had remained completely frozen in place as if it had been paralyzed by fear.
As an avid water type pokemon collector, Tristan attempting to capture this normal type pokemon definitely did not fit his niche, the raccoon pokemon was was simply going to be used as trade bait to further deepen his stocks of water type pokemon, for that Tristan felt a slight bit of remorse for simply using the normal type pokemon as if it were a pawn on a chessboard, a simple sacrifice.
Tristan and Poseidon watched carefully as the blinding red light sucked the wild raccoon pokemon inside of the blue and red ball. After some initial struggling the spherical device then ceased moving, indicating a successful capture. Now the situation was over and done with, Poseidon was keeping a look-out for any potential opponents as he was ready to fight, his trainer however had further plans to attend to as he walked over to the nearby bush that the great ball laid near and retrieved the capturing device before motioning to his partner in Posiedon to follow him as he begun to head towards his trade destination.
