Name: Levi Whitmore
Trainer Type: Average Trainer for the most part, he's still deciding his final goal.
Hometown: Fortree City, Hoenn
Levi has always been a little small for his age, something that despite hating - hasn't been something that he has been able to really change about himself. With pale skin that often burns a little too easily, and bright blue eyes, an overly messy white head of hair, he is often called 'adorable' by many of those older than himself - again, something he doesn't particularly like but he tolerates. No matter how often his hair is brushed or pushed back, it never fails to yet again wind up a windswept - eternal mess in appearance. Something that he does actually like - his hair is free to be! What could be so bad about that?
Despite often suffering a sunburn, it has never seemed to stop Levi from being outdoors - he loves being outside and exploring, often climbing trees - and on occasion taking a tumble as well. It isn't unusual to see him with a sheepish grin and bandaid or two somewhere on his person. His paleness has never seemed to be able to turn, simply burning - or if he is lucky, gaining the tiniest speckle of freckles just accross his nose - which no, is not 'adorable' at all.
Unsurprisingly, with how active and outdoorsy he is - Levi's sense of style when it comes to his clothing choices, is rather relaxed. With either baggy shorts or simple jeans and oversized shirts worn over a longer style of shirt. If its a little chilly, a simple hoody fixes things - usually at least. His choice of shoes is simply either bare foot - or sneakers of some kind, socks optional. Levi has never been one to focus on his appearance being 'presentable' or 'fancy clothing', he finds it restrictive and - often very uncomfortable to boot. Rarely if ever will he be seen in such fancy clothing - which for him does include simple slacks or button up shirts, not even accounting for such a horror as a full suit!
When it comes to hats, he is a little more relaxed - so much so that often he forgets about them completely. When he doesn't however - a simple baseball style hat will do, usually with some slogan or original drawing added to it that he drew himself - even if it messes his already messy hair up even further. After all it can sometimes help prevent a sunburn - so... maybe its not so bad right? Almost all of Levi's clothing has either some form of grass stain, usually on his pants, or charcoal of some kind - usually in the form of messy finger prints on his top, and stains on his fingers. No matter how often he washes his hands - there is always signs of charcoal.
Levi is at times a bit of a handful - or so his grandparents would often say as he was growing up, usually with a smile and a shake of the head. Levi has always had the best intentions in whatever he does, he has a huge heart and a passion for whatever he does. But a curious wonder about the world around him often leads him instead of his mind. Thinking before acting is certainly something that he struggles with, his impulsiveness often landed him into all kinds of situations - many ending up being kind of fun, if not a little scary at times.
He is a warm person, although not the most outgoing he quickly warms up to people and befriends many he meets. Often he can be found up a tree - a sight not uncommon, although he tends to 'zone out' and get lost in thought when up said tree. Something that can at times be a little risky.
He loves to draw, it being one of very few things that could get him to sit still for more than a few minutes at a time - it was something his grandmother taught him. A special thing she taught him, that was just theirs - a quiet moment in the day and pokemon often being the subject of the lessons she taught him. Now it means even more to him, so much so that he draws almost every pokemon that he meets or befriends. Even occasionally sketching something for others he meets, rarely giving it to them but secretly tucking it somewhere they will later find it - simply signed with an 'L' in the corner. His big heart leaving a sign of kindness behind wherever he goes.
Levi's start in life wasn't an easy one at all, even before he had entered the world - his mother was a teenager herself, struggling to work out what she wanted in life herself - let alone bringing a child into the world. His mother did her best - but having a child and raising them as a single parent while an adult, well that wasn't easy - let alone still being a teen herself - she did try - but it was hard on her and having her own wants in life as well... after some time and mistakes, her own parents took Levi in by the age of two years old.
For pretty much as long as he could remember, his grandma and grandpa were his constants. He knew them as Grandma and Grandpa - he knew his Mother was on her own path and he did get to see her of course, but Grandma and Grandpa were who were raising him. Teaching him right from wrong, tucking him in at night, making him feel better after battling an illness and caring for his injuries when he ... yet again... fell from a tree.
Growing up in Fortree City was an adventure for Levi right from the start - his love for nature being of no surprise, nor that of his love for climbing trees and exploring all he could. He loved pokemon and often would bring home a small pokemon, usually a bug type - that had been injured in someway - his grandfather was well known for caring for injured pokemon, and always ended up laughing at yet again another injured pokemon being brought home by his grandson. But he always promised to help get it well again so they could send it off home together - a promise Levi always kept him to as no matter what time of the day, he'd be there to see off the pokemon friend he had cared for.
As active as he was, his grandparents did discover something that calmed his endless energy - after watching his grandmother curiously as she worked on something that wasn't just 'boring adult work' - he insisted on helping her. Resulting in Levi's first introduction with charcoal at the age of Five years old - a wide grin on his face matched only by the one on his grandmothers as he sat on her lap, watching her hand move - leaving behind lines on paper that took shape of that of a familiar sight. A Kecleon - just like he often saw when running about outside.
Several times a week, his grandmother would sit him down with her - teaching him to draw - how to do certain techniques and capture the things he saw in art. By the age of nine he no longer really had 'lessons' with his Grandmother, but he still kept up with what she taught him and often would rush home with several new sketches and a proud grin on his face eager to show what he had done that day.
The sudden loss of his grandmother hit Levi extremely hard, so much so that he put off starting his own journey he had been counting down the days for. His mother even came home, moving in to help out her father. Despite this though - Levi still put off his own start, now unsure on what he wanted to do - it wasn't until over a year later did Levi decide maybe he should begin a journey - just perhaps a little different than that of his friends. Finding something of his grandmothers when cleaning one day, a worn old bag - with beautiful sketches filling notebooks and - badges...? ... but they different from the ones he had grown up seeing. He had many questions - but the answers simply brought up even more.
The things he had found had been his grandmothers belongings from when she was younger - when she had gone on a journey of her own, taking on gym battles and adventuring where she had grown up - in the Johto Region, which explained why the badges were different than the ones he knew. He still missed his grandmother desperately, but this glimpse into another side of her - a younger version of her was something that tugged at him forming an idea he couldn't ignore but - could he really leave everything he knew behind for an adventure in another Region?
- To draw every single pokemon that joins his team
- Capture a 'Monkey Pokemon' that can climb trees with him.
- To make his Grandma proud of him by beating the Johto League just like she tried when she was his age.
- His Grandmother, Her name was Asterea, was originally from Violet City, her starter pokemon was a Cyndaquil named Seraphina, a pokemon that Levi knew well growing up - only as a Typhlosion instead. One of very few Johto pokemon he is familiar with.
- He has decent knowledge in first aid, mostly due to his own injuries growing up but also knows a lot about pokemon care due to helping his grandfather out so much growing up.
- He always now, has a backpack on his person, an old thing that's colour is very faded - while not telling anyone this - it is the same bag he found that was once his grandmothers when she was younger.
- There is never not a sketchbook in his bag, food maybe less so - but always spare paper and things to draw with.
How did you find us?: I googled 'Pokemon RP Sites' and wound up linked to here after many, many dead sites sadly.
