The wind blew gently causing the silver haired teens hair, scarf and even her skirt fluttered gently in the light breeze. Her right hand, which was covered in it’s usual elbow length black glove, rested on the handle to the door as she stood there looking at the door just as she started to second guess her decision to come so far from home. But then she thought back to her final conversation with her father before she had boarded her plane. Her mom had already left with teary eyes unable to say any more. It was that moment her father, who had taught her so much growing up, spoke his final words before she boarded her flight. “You are the strongest person I have ever known. You went through so much as a child and still pulled through with both grace and strength, and I know you will take that same grace and strength and conquer any and every challenge you face.” He had then smiled and given her one final hug before she went down the corridor to board her flight. With those words filling her with a comforting warmth the silver haired young lady took a deep breath and opened the door and stepped into the lab and towards her own destiny. Once inside and the door shutting behinde her she began looking around she called out ready to meet her first partner so she could start the first steps on finding herself and following her dreams. “Hello? I’m Ivy, well Ivy Rose Frost. I am here to claim my starter Pokemon”
Professor Elm turns around and sees the young lady in the lab. One of the lab technicians are over grooming some other Pokemon in the corner while is at a computer inputting data. Behind Elm is three pokeballs and three Pokemon standing in front of them. An orange small smooth skinned lizard with a flame on its tail jumps down the moment Elm turns his back. It starts walking around the lab. A green vine shoots out behind Elm as it wraps around a metal rafter. A moment a green plump creature with a plant on its back flies through the air and lands close to the orange lizard. The only remaining creature on the table is a turtle and it shoots a stream of water at the back of Elm who ignores the water gun.
"Ah yes, miss Ivy was it? I am sorry for the Pokemon. They just got out of their balls and often want to run around to stretch their legs. Thankfully they won't leave the lab so we let them run around a little."
Professor Elm takes off his wet lab coat and puts it on the table away from the Pokeballs and Squirtle. He then walks behind the table and reaches down. A moment later he walks back in front of the table with his hands behind him.
"So my dear, who do you have in mind? As you can tell, all three of them are energetic. You will have your hands full regardless which one you choose."

As she called out she noticed someone grooming some pokemon in one corner of the lab, and one other at a computer typing away. She also saw the three pokemon in front of the balls and watched their antics as the man at the computer turned as she called out. Stifling a laugh Ivy nodded her head and then pointed to her left arm. “I can understand them wanting to get out, Professor I have spent many days cooped up inside in my life.” She then folded her hands in front of her as the Professor walked in front of the table asking who her choice of the starters would be.
She looked at all three in turn as she spoke. “Well to be honest any of the three of them would be great as my first partner. See my parents own a small restaurant in Lumios City and I plan on some day starting my own here in Johto, but first I want to see the region, meet new people, partake in local delicacies and such, and any tree of the darlings would be great for a chef." She finally let her eyes rest on the Bulbasaur and she walked up to it and knelled down to pat it on the head.
“However I have also had a big interest in grass, bug, and poison types of course this comes to surprise to most at least the bug and poison. So I think I will choose bulbasaur” She looked down at the bulbasaur and smiled, resting her hands on her knees. ” So how about it? “ The bulbasuar looked up at Ivy and cocked it’s head to the side and the placed it front paws on her knees just short of where her fingers and it eyes went wide before a smile spread across its face “Saur” Ivy picked up the grass pokemon holding her up. “I think I will call you Liana” She then placed her chosen partner back down who immediately began to rub against her new trainers leg as Ivy turned back to the professor. “What do you think Professor I think she likes it”
Elm adjusted the glasses slipping down his nose, eyes brightening from the mild weary wrinkles settling in from staring at screens all day. "An eatery exploration ey?" The man smiled wider than before, "You're definitely starting at the right time, Johto's been expanding its horizons on all fronts lately. You should have no problem doing the same with taste buds here, and boy could we use some more great restaurants."
While Ivy continued delving into her interests the professor bobbed lightly, nodding along with interest in her aspirations. When she made her choice he side stepped a bit to take the full brunt of another sprinkling of water from the mischievous squirtle and spare his guest. "I think she does indeed," he agreed. "I think she'll be the perfect partner for you starting out. Grass types have a knack for wild flora, which I don't doubt will have some great utility for your food interests. There isn't too much here in New Bark, but many starting out head straight to Cherrygrove City. Have you heard much of the city of flowers? Might find a good base for your quest there," the man led, though truthfully didn't look to certain as his eyes lifted to the ceiling in thought.
"But I shouldn't keep you too long." Elm twisted round and stared at the three pokéballs on that able. "Now which one..." he trailed off in mumbles, a hand raising in pause as he tried to remember which of the devices was registered to the newly named bulbasaur. "Ah!" He snatched it up quickly.
"Here you go, you'll be needing Liana's pokéball." He pressed the device's central button to enlarge it before handing it over. "Good luck."
