Personality Caribes is a cruel and sadistic person. They thrive on seeing other people and Pokemon suffering and take no greater joy and comfort in knowing that they’re causing them pain. Caribes believes that all things in life secretly love causing each other pain and that everyone is out only to serve their own self-interest. While Caribes loves inflicting pain on others, they are indifferent about them dishing pain back to them. In fact, Caribes often welcomes law enforcements with open arms – if they can catch Caribes, then Caribes will gladly serve their time behind bars. However, Caribes will often welcome this ‘open arm’ invitations with a set of questions and moral implications to suggest that each cop present is not clean nor clear on their own records and have no more or less right than Caribes to make the world atone for their sins. Caribes doesn’t trust Pokemon and needs unevolved Pokemon that are easier for them to control. Caribes has an irrational fear of evolved Pokemon and believes that they are abominations that should not be allowed to live. They will go out of their way to get rid of any evolved abomination that they can – often seeking to liberate them out of the hands of their respective trainers and freeing them purposefully within habitats that each evolved Pokemon is not suited to survive in. Caribes needs obedient Pokemon and will go out of their way to make sure that their Pokemon listen to them by exacting corporal punishment to get them in line. Pokemon that become unruly and unable to be contained by Caribes are often treated to the same sort of ‘freedom’ that Caribes gives to evolved Pokemon that they have felt were too dangerous to allow around human-kind. Caribes loves Team Rocket and believes that they’re the only good guys in this world. They were rescued by a couple of Rocket Grunts named Baron and Cassandra. Baron became a father figure to Caribes while Cassandra became a mother figure to the young child. Specifically, they believe that Team Rocket is the only organization who can truly unite the world and protect it from utter devastation. Caribes has a reoccurring nightmare that one day evolved Pokemon the globe wide will wake up and begin toppling everything that mankind has created in retaliation to being enslaved by the human race. Because Baron and Cassandra would often liberate Pokemon – especially evolved Pokemon – from their trainers and convince Caribes that they were ‘setting them free’, Caribes believed that they were doing the ‘Lord’s work’ as an organization. | DESCRIPTION Credit Weiß Kreuz character Farfarello for image. Caribes stands roughly six feet and three inches tall and weighs around two hundred pounds. They have short grey hair that has a wild and shaggy appearance due to them not taking proper care and not brushing it daily. Caribe’s hair is short and falls just to their ears, with their bangs kept cut very short to keep it out of their face. Caribes has very fair and pale skin, often likened to that or porcelain skin tones in complexion. Because of their advanced age and rough lifestyle, Caribes has fine wrinkles around their mouth and under their eyes, as well as along the normal areas on their body. They also have long scars across the bridge of their nose and across their right cheek. Though their arms and legs are often concealed in long-sleeved suits and pants, Caribes’ arms and legs are also deeply scarred with long, now healed scars that line their form. Caribes prefers to wear nice business suits wherever they are going. This was an acquired taste that they developed later in life, thanks to the need to look nice and professional on many of their more important and high-stakes mission. Although rarely, Caribes will wear light weight shorts and a tank tops. They only wear the lighter clothes during extremely hot whether when they will spend prolonged periods in the wilderness, where wearing a full suit and tie would be extremely impractical. Caribes doesn’t have a preference for specific colors, though they do not like designs on their clothes and prefer their outfits to only be solid colors throughout. Instead, Caribes will base what they choose to wear on the setting, letting the occasion design the ensemble so that they can ‘seemlessly’ blend in with any large event or place. |
HISTORY Caribes’ history started long before they were conceptualized. Caribes’ parents, Bernard and Cassandria, were young lovers who met each other on a cruise ship sailing across the open seas. The ship was a special cruise that promised all of its rich inhabitants a cushy life aboard for the duration of the cruise, while they toured all of the known regions of the Pokemon world. Because of the vast expanse of the Pokemon regions, the initial cruise was set to sail for ten full months, before landing back in Vermilion City to release their passengers back into their normal, daily lives. While Cassandria purchased one of the expensive boarding passes for the cruise ship and was apart of the noble class, Bernard stole his pass and the accompanying outfits to fit in, sneaking aboard the cruise ship relatively unnoticed. Bernard and Cassandria enjoyed each other’s company while they played various games and gazed at the expansive oceans that surrounded them. Cassandria loved watching the Mantine jump out of the oceans in flocks during the early morning and would call them ‘birds of the sea’ for the way that they seemed to ‘fly’ across the tops of the water’s surface. Bernard would often nudge her and point out rare anomalies in the water, such as a Relicanth that he swore he saw one morning, though when he tried to show Cassandria it had disappeared. Soon after meeting, Cassandria would come to expect a new arrival, and announced this joyous news to Bernard. While at first he was displeased, Bernard eventually came around to become excited for his firstborn child. The cruise ended up striking a large iceberg that tore across one side of the ship. It sank, leaving its passengers stranded. Many escaped off the cruise ship in emergency boats and managed to make it back to the safety of mainland. Though, there wasn’t enough boats to save all the passengers, and many – including Bernard and Cassandria – would miss their opportunity to escape safely. Bernard managed to break down several of the furniture and other supplies on the ship to build a makeshift raft, which they used to sail out to sea. They would land on the uninhabited side of Wales Island, where Bernard would build most of the shelters and tools that they needed to survive. When Caribes was born, the young couple were ecstatic and named them a proper and fine name befitting the young child, though Caribes would later rename themselves befitting their newfound and personal image and burn all traces of their old life. Caribes did love their parents, but they couldn’t bare the memories of what happened to them during their youth. Caribes grew up alongside their parents and paid close attention to Bernard’s teachings so that they could learn how to survive in the wilderness that surrounded the uninhabited side of Wales Island. They had to be careful, for the wild Pokemon were easy to startle, and would often have to hunt or gather supplies under cover to avoid upsetting the natural balance of the island. However, Caribes didn’t believe their parents’ warning and would often sneak off. They made friend with a small Anorith and would often run through the wild jungles while the ancient rock-and-bug Pokemon flew at their sides. Both were babies by comparison, with parents that loved them dearly. When the Anorith’s Armaldo parents spied the Anorith playing off a small cliffside with Caribes, they charged the lad and used ancient powers to attack. Bernard and Cassandria, hearing their child’s screams nearby, rushed to find Caribes being chased by the Amarldo, who tried to trample them and strike them down with large rocks that they slung at the child. Cassandria and Bernard both rushed in to save their child. Bernard distracted the Armaldo while Cassandria rushed in to grab her child’s hand and lead them away to safety. Cassandria would manage to hide Caribes in a secluded spot within the wild jungles of their home, telling Caribes to wait for them there until she returned safely with their father. However, Cassandria never returned to Caribes. And after a day had passed, the child would eventually wander out to find remnants of their parents clothes and other personal belongings strewn where Caribes had last seen them, all smashed and torn to bits. They tried to survive on their own in the wild but found it twice as difficult as before. And though they wept and pleaded with the ancient deities that their parents had taught them about to bring back their parents, Caribes was largely all alone. Caribes was twelve when they lost their parents and managed to struggle by for a few months as they scrounged around their forested habitat just trying to survive. Though, they were completely malnourished and as risk of expiring when Baron and Cassandra managed to find Caribes. Although Cassandra wasn’t the same Cassandria as their mother, the shared name made it easier for them to adopt her as their mother. Baron and Cassandra would take young Caribes under their wing and finish raising them far away from their original home in an undisclosed location out of a Rocket Base that they turned into their home. Whenever Caribes asked their newfound ‘parents’ about the time they had met and what the two were doing out on Wales Island, Baron and Cassandra would quickly change the subject by explaining that it was all part of their grander plans to help save the world. Caribes naturally assumed that their parents’ death was the fault of them interacting with fully evolved Pokemon, which were wilder and more dangerous than unevolved Pokemon. Especially because Baron and Cassandra filled their heads with notion that all Pokemon were wild inside, no matter how tamed they acted on the outside. They also warned Caribes growing up of how deadly and lethal evolved Pokemon could be because of how their powers were often boosted through evolutionary stages of life. When Caribes turned eighteen, they joined Team Rocket as a grunt and would often help Baron and Cassandra alongside their missions. Caribes loved working with Team Rocket. Caribes viewed stealing Pokemon from trainers as ‘saving them’ from the detriment of what their Pokemon could eventually become and only spared trainers who carried Pokemon that could not evolve on their teams. They spent several years doing small odds and ends jobs until they managed to climb the ranks within the Rocket organization. When Caribes was thirty-three they were made a Rocket Executive within the organization. Caribes actually helped in taking over Silph Co. and were part of a group of Rocket members who were trained to keep an eye out on the outside of the building. Caribes ordered their grunts to guard the front and back doors of the building, and even had some of their underlings posted up several stories high on the sides of the building and on the rooftop to keep track of suspicious individuals. However, when the Police apprehended them, Caribes was caught as well and shipped to prison. Caribes was released from prison after serving twenty years for their crimes, though they’ve learned nothing from the experience. Because they haven’t had the chance to renew their membership with Team Rocket, Caribes’ first goal is to rejoin the organization as soon as they can. | GOALS Liberate all Pokemon from their trainers, and rid the world of evolved Pokemon to set the world back to its 'proper' status quo.
