The purple rodent backed up and sat down on its rump for a second. It tilted its head and raised one of its back legs to scratch behind its ear. Something seemed to bite at it under the flesh – perhaps invisible Joltiks that were trying to get at its flesh, even though they did not exist in this forest? Whatever the matter, scratching the itch felt great! “You…don’t seem like you like your ‘trainer’ very much…” The Rattata observed as it hummed carefully to itself. “Why don’t you just go do your own thing? Why travel with this ‘trainer’ in the first place?” The Rattata didn’t understand what motivated the Dottler to stay.

Einstein’s nearly translucent eyes began to glow a bright red. The light that illuminated her pupils seemed to emanate from her eyes in long wavelengths that traveled to the purple rodent at a blindingly fast speed. As the Rattata’s entire body began to glow around it, the rodent would float up high into the air and swing around wildly from Dottler’s attack. It kicked and flailed as it struggled to break from from Einstein’s attack. “Learn about the world around you?! Look around! No where is safe! At least, not in the wild!” The Rattata yelled at the top of its lungs as Einstein slammed the rodent into the ground. It rose back up, shaking its head heavily. “Because this is my home! Many Rattata were born and raised here. Why should I leave?!” It demanded.

When the flitty Cutiefly spoke up, the Rattata narrowed its bright red eyes down firmly on the Dottler. Had it been tricking the Rattata this entire time?! A bright white light surrounded the Rattata’s body as it began to focus its energy. “I thought you said you don’t even eat my kind!?” It snapped. Something inside of the Rattata’s body seemed to change, as though its muscles were becoming more pronounced in preparation for its next attack. “Or did you only say that to distract me so you could get at my young?!” The Rattata demanded to know.

Einstein perked up a bit when the rattata calmed down and even sat and scratched itself, perhaps it did really help asking questions and then just keep doing it until her opponent realized she meant it?
The dottler flinched and looked uncomfortable when the Rattata cleverly observed that Einstein wasn't head over heels about Lei, "I.. she.." she started stammering and had to take a moment to gather her thoughts.
"It's.. a bit of an adjustment from where I was before," she admitted and glanced at Lei who was scolding Flit and wagging her finger at him.
"I grew up in.." she looked around, nothing looked familiar here, or had, "somewhere far away, I remember it as sunny," she said with a little smile. "A boy caught me and he was nice and I traveled with him, his friend and all their pokemon for a bit, but then they moved here, and they didn't take it up again," she hesitated, did wild pokemon understand the concept of buying? "They gave us to this trainer and she's.. different. She's more.. strict and expect you to do what she says, but she also knows a lot more than the boy did," she said diplomatically and tried to find something positive, which was hard since she hadn't been with Lei for long.
"I.. don't think I can leave," she said thoughtfully.

The headache, or whatever it was which was building inside her skull seemed to press and want its way out, "what's going on?" she groaned as the strange feeling build up, she looked at the rattata and the psychic energies latched on to it as a target, making it glow.
"What's happening?" she called out worried and gasped in horror as the rodent was pulled up in the air and swung around as she moved her eyes, "how do I make it stop?!"
She looked down and slammed the rattata down into the ground, "I'm sorry! I'm sorry! I'm sorry!!" She whined agitated and tried to focus on what the rattata said as right now it radiated calmness, it didn't even seem to think it was a weird thing which had happened.
"Right, your home, and danger everywhere, right," she repeated and tried to calm down.

Things would have went fine and Einstein might even had had a chance to ask the rattata if it had an idea of what had been going on with Einstein, hadn't Flit not chosen to mingle.
"What?! NO! Why are you saying that?!" Einstein exclaimed shocked and stared horrified at the rattata which was throwing accusations at her again. Flit rolled around laughing on his branch, almost falling down.
"Nonononono, I don't eat pokemon, I don't have a mouth! I don't even know what I'm eating but if it is anything its leaves like before, I'm a bug not a bird!" She frantically tried to defend herself as she backed away, feeling weak and scared. She kept glancing at Lei and wished the woman would do something, would help her somehow.
Einstein gave a start when she suddenly seemed to feel some sort of connection and Lei spun around and stared at her, Einstein looked at her worriedly and with what she hoped was pleading eyes. Lei narrowed her eyes as she studied the dottler and with a sigh she pulled a bottle of water and somehow found a way for the dottler to gulp it down. feeling refreshed, but still wary towards the rattata and its power, Einstein chose to raise Reflect again, now it seemed to have weakened too much to be of any use.

The furry purple rat’s resolve was starting to crumble underneath itself. The strange flitty yellow fly seemed strange. It traveled with the hard-shelled Einstein, but it didn’t seem to help its teammate all that much. Why would two Pokemon travel together, if one obviously did not have the other’s best interest at heart? Or was the Cutiefly trying to warn the purple rodent in its own way? And if so, why would it do that? What would it gain by helping its friend’s ‘enemy’? “So you never had a choice when this…‘boy’…caught you?” The rattata asked, keeping its fur bristled and its eyes sharp as the red pupils rolled from the hard-shelled bug to the flighty bug. “Can you not leave your trainer? Run away?”

The purple rodent focused on the conversation at hand as it tried to plan the best form of attack. When Leilani gave the Dottler a can of water to drink of, it would dig its paws into the soft sandy earth. This was the perfect moment to seize its opponent’s weaknesses and exploit them for its own gain. When such a strange creature was encased in such a hard shell, where should it strike the best? “But if you don’t have a mouth, how can you eat leaves?” The Rattata inquired, trying to find holes in Einstein’s logic. “And what would your ‘friend’ have to gain by lying about you? If you don’t eat babies, that is…” It’s whiskers twitched nervously until it managed to land on the perfect opening. The spot underneath the shell, where its undersides were just barely visible, was the perfect moment.

The Rattata would rush the Dottler, ramming its head into the side – not enough to cause much damage, but just enough to flip the bug. Einstein struggled and fought back, using her shell to her advantage. The furry purple rodent wouldn’t give up as she pressed her entire side against Einstein’s hard shell and nosed her long snout around until she was able to hook it underneath part of Einstein’s shell and flip her. As soon as the soft undersides were revealed, the Rattata would smirk. “THERE WE ARE, Baby Eater! Take this and learn to leave us alone!” It roared, biting down fiercely on Einstein’s softest body parts. The body kicked and squirmed as a bright reflective light surrounded her, creating a soft protective barrier against the other Pokemon.

Einstein frowned at the rattata's question, "I don't think so?" she said hesitantly, "I haven't thought about it like that before. You usually battle the human to see if they are good enough to get you, and usually its a pretty good life I think."
She blinked and the light on her shell flashed as she thought hard about the question, "I don't know, I guess I can't because otherwise why would they use a pokeball? But why would I? Where would I go? I don't know anyone around here, and honestly I like the life with humans, I'm too stupid to fend for myself I'm afraid," she chuckled a bit.

The dottler turned her whole shell from left to right as she looked around at the leaves surrounding them. She was happy as long as she kept the rattata calm and talkative, then she felt she had some control of the situation. "I had a mouth before I evolved, and then I ate leaves. I don't know if I eat in this form, I haven't felt hungry yet and I know some worms like I was has a cocoon state where they just wait for evolution," she smiled with her eyes, "I don't know what I am yet, but it didn't feel like drinking as when I had a mouth, but I must be talking with something, right?"
Flit buzzed his wings and Einstein dared a glance at him, "you could be farting it out," he suggested it innocently and chuckled at her glare.
"If I don't have a mouth, I don't have a butthole," Einstein snapped and demonstratively turned back to the rattata while the cutiefly cackled on his branch.
The round bug looked concerned at the rattata, it sounded agitated again, "I don't know, I don't know him very well as I have just met him," she said honestly, "perhaps he just likes to watch others squabble?" She suggested, hoping that rattata would calm down again.
"Careful brave parent, you felt how that blinking bug threw you around, don't you think that power could be used on other things as well? Like the walls of your den?" He called down and looked smug as Einstein protested that loudly, she would never do such thing. The cutiefly glanced at Lei who now had her attention on the battle, he smirked, the harder rattata hit, the more Lei focused on that and left him alone. He moved out from the protectiveness of his branch and to a big tasty looking flower which he checked out for nectar.

"Wait wait wait! What are you doing! Please stop, I don't want to hurt your babies at all! No no no no no!" Einstein protested as she fought against Rattata's attempts to tip her over. It was of no use as the rattata was more bulky than she was and she whined as it pushed her around and buried its teeth into a soft spot she didn't even know she had.
She flailed her stubby legs in the air and rolled back and forth but wasn't able to get around, she panicked for a few moments but when nothing happened she managed to calm down a bit. She mumbled to herself as she tried to reassure herself everything would be fine and she certainly couldn't be the first who had tried this, there had to be a way out of this.
"Just think!" She told herself and then whined as she felt the strange throbbing inside her head build up again, "if just I wasn't so stupid!" She complained.
She stopped abruptly, what was it Flit had said about her using that strange lifting power to other things, could she use that on herself? She closed her eyes and concentrated, she felt a jerk and opened her eyes, only to find herself a few meters up in the air, falling like a rock. She landed with a bump and rolled to her stomach, it hurt but happiness filled her. It had worked!
A shadow fell over her and Lei sprayed something over her body which took most of the pain, she blinked gratefully with her lights.

"Use Confusion on it again," Lei ordered as she stepped back and Einstein looked confused at her.
Again? Was it a move she had used? She looked at the rattata, "I'm sorry, but I promise I won't do anything to your babies no matter what."
Her eyes began to glow as she tried to focus on the rodent and if she got hold of it, she would try lift it up into the tree to Flit, let him handle it for a while now, that would only be fair. With this being the third time she used her psychic powers, her control wasn't the best and the risk of it going wrong was pretty big.

The rodent scrunched up its nose as Einstein explained how trainers usually caught Pokemon. It didn’t like the idea, and even turned to hiss at Leilani as its arched its back. The Rattata warned the girl that if she tried to capture it, it would gnaw at everything she dearly loved every waking second it could. There would be no escape for Leilani so long as it breathed and was free to do so. No, the purple rodent wouldn’t be someone’s pet that they could simply do as they please with. “I may not have the ‘pretty good life’ you have with that two-legged creature…” The rodent growled, turning its head to focus its gaze upon the Dottler with a serious expression. “But I wouldn’t trade my life for a life in shackles.”

When the rodent watch Leilani pull something else out of her bag to give to the strange bug, it became absolutely furious! There was no way that this strange girl and her Pokemon were going to get a free ride off of its hard work! It banged its tail on the ground before rushing off and tackling the Dottler the very second after Leilani finished spraying her Pokemon down with the healing potion. Though it would try to cause as much damage as it could before the potion could do its work, it would already be too late. They rolled and tumbled through the tall wheatgrasses, crunching over dead leaves and small, fallen branches. Rattata’s back slammed up against a large rock, causing it pain as it pulled itself off and spun around to glare at Einstein. “I don’t care about your evolutionary path! WHY does she keep prolonging this battle for you! You’re too weak, let me beat you so you will both LEAVE my family in peace!” It roared.

The furry purple rodent tilted its head and listened as the yellow fly and shelled bug spoke at length to each other, then to it. “Are you not on the same team?” It pointed out, twitching its whiskers while trying to calm itself down. Maybe Einstein was right, and Flit was simply adding distraction to their battle. It could feel the pain of its attack mixed with the pain of Einstein’s previous attacks taking a toll on its body. It had to admit, it wanted to steal one of Leilani’s miraculous potions for itself. Why did humans have all these cool things that they only used to cause wild Pokemon such anguish?! But as Flit mentioned the possibility of Einstein destroying its den, the Pokemon’s red eyes widened in anger. It immediately rushed forward and rammed itself into Einstein, tumbling through the grasses, discarded leaves, and dead branches once more. It would fly off of Einstein after a bit and continue to roll until it slammed hard against the base of a tree. “AGH! STOP TRICKING ME, YOU TWO!” It roared. As Einstein fired her powerful blast of psychic energy, the rodent would turn tail and flee off further into the forested hillside with loud squeaks.
