As Tyler made his way to the National Park he looked forward to the Bug Catching Contest beginning. It had been a very long time since he last had a chance to try his luck and he was very glad he was able to participate again. " Ah the Bug Catching Contest, how I missed tormenting the bug types here and I do believe Flint enjoys tormenting them as well. " As he waited for the buzzer he looked over at the Charmeleon who released a large Flamethrower from his mouth in a show of strength followed by sharpening his nails on a small tree.
A moment later the buzzer went off and all of the participants rushed towards different parts of the park in search of bug types to capture. Tyler did the same as he ran into the tall grass ready for whichever bug decided to challenge him first. " I wonder which bug type will be brave enough to take us on first. Remember we have to capture at least one bug but beyond that the others are at your mercy Flint. "
The young Charmeleon roared in excitement as he started to look for his first victim. The fire type had become obsessed with defeating bug types and pretty good at acting as bait for capturing them as well. With multiple Bug Catching Contests under his belt Flint knew exactly what to do. Wait for the target and if it wasn't something Tyler wanted then burning it with his Flamethrower showing no mercy was the call.
" I do not know how long it will take to encounter our first foe but I highly doubt anything will be too much trouble for you to handle. There are a few Pokemon I know of that live in the park during this contest I would like to capture but I am not in any hurry. A mistake could cost us both the contest and the chance to capture a strong bug type. "
Tyler then watched as Flint heard something move towards them. It was hard to tell what was approaching as the grass was far too tall to make anything out until it got really close. Whatever t was it was sure brave to come this close to a Charmeleon. The fire type was ready for a fight whenever the bug got within range. " Hold ypur fire Flint until we know what this is. No mistakes or you will pay dearly for them. "

Something rustled in the thick undergrowth of the tall grasses in the Park. A bright greenish-blue hued shell seemed to find itself hardly hidden between the thick clumps of weeds that would spring up in all directions. As soon as the little beetle noticed that its path was directly colliding with Tyler and his Pokemon, it would turn tail and immediately try to run as fast as it could away from them. The wild Pokemon - completely different from others of its own kind and yet also the same - had spent its entire life in exile and fear. Sticking out like a sore thumb, it knew that it's only hope was to remain hidden. However, Flint's eagerness could not be abated for long. As soon as the Charmeleon would lead the charge into the undergrowth - no doubt trying to scare the bug out for Tyler - the Karrablast would come crashing through at full force. It was ready to do all it could to defend itself - and hopefully bide some time to find a good exit strategy. A Wild ✰Karrablast✰ is trying to scare you off!  Level 15. What will Tyler do?! As the shiny Karrablast stepped out in front of him Tyler could hardly believe his eyes. He had been after one for a very long time to join Sir Snailfordshire in his collection but he never dreamed a shiny one would be brave enough to step before him. " Flint do not even breathe. We are going to try and capture this one as shiny Karrablast are very rare. It will fit on our team perfectly and it looks amazing as well. I can only imagine how much damage that little critter can do." he then grabbed one of the 15 Sport Balls he had been handed at the gate and wondered where he should aim for the best chance of capture.
He was not about to risk knocking out the bug type at all as it was highly unlikely he would see another shiny Karrablast in his lifetime. The shiny Poochyena he knocked out a long time ago still haunted him and he was not going to knock out another super rare Pokemon. " Just look at that majestic bug. It must be worth a fortune to someone and I must have this little critter. Flint buy me as much time as you can. It looks like it will be a tough catch so be prepared to take a few hits for the team." He then aimed the Sport Ball right between it's eyes and hoped for the best.

The Park Ball flew out of Tyler's hand and hit the Karrablast directly in the center of its head. As soon as the Pokemon disappeared inside of the device, the Park Ball would fall to the ground and wiggle violently between the tall blades of grass. One...Two...Three...Success! Tyler had managed to catch the shiny variant with his first throw and at full health! What a truly amazing find!

Tyler was thrilled beyond words as the Sport Ball clicked shut. Karrablast were rare enough in the Bug Catching Contest but a shiny one was like hitting the jackpot. Though it wasn't the maximum level a Karrablast could be he had captured it without a aingle broken ball. The overall reduced penalty made him quite happy and knowing if he did not hit the jackpot again he would still get to keep the Shiny Karrablast still made him very pleased overall. " Only one encounter in and I would already say this trip.has been worth it already. We still have 4 more encounters we can use and I am not about to skip them just because our first one was a jackpot." He then paused for a moment trying to come up with a nickname for his newly acquired bug. In keeping with the odd name he came up for his Shelmet he decided to keep the same theme for Karrablast. " I shall call out new friend Lady Beetlethorpe and once this contest is over I have plenty of plans for her. In the meantime however I do believe it is time for us to search for another bug. The Caterpie did not impress Tyler anywhere near as much as the Shiny Karrablast however Flint could still get some experience in battling it. A Caterpie at such a decent level was bound to give Flint a decent amount of experience and he still had 3 encounters left to try for something even rarer. " A bit of a shame it is a common bug but not a worthless encounter at least. Flint use Flmaethrower and show this bug what happens when you mess with Team Rocket."
Within seconds Flint started to make his move as he opened his mouth and got ready to fire a wall of flames towards the Caterpie.
OOC: Flint uses Flamethrower. Also as Fury Cutter should have been one of Karrablast's moves I replaced Peck with it. As there was only one mistake as Lmaont pointed out the disqualification is not needed. The Sport Ball nerf would not have changed the outcome in this case.

As Flint easily defeated the Caterpie Tyler was far from ready to give up. He still had time to try and top his already incredible capture and Flint could still safely train a bit more before he would have to stop. " I wonder what else will be dumb enough to take us on today? That Caterpie was a wimp but Lady Beetlethorpe was truly a once in a lifetime encounter. A shame we can only keep a single bug from this contest as that Caterpie would have been easy to evolve but I can get another of those anytime." He then started to look through the tall grass again eager for another encounter.

As the Illumise tried to work it's charm on Flint the fire type was not interested in the slightest. Tyler had no interest in the bug either as it was neither as rare or useful as Lady Beetlethorpe however like Caterpie it would make for a great punching bag for Flint to gain some experience. " Well it is better than a Caterpie at least but not worth giving up a shiny Karrablast for. Flint do me the honor of wiping this bug out with your Flamethrower." He ordered as the Charmeleon stepped forward ready to strike again. Like with Caterpie he sid not want this bug to try and get away before he had his fun.

With just two encounters left to go Tyler was far from nervous as his current entry was still quite a catch. Though he had very little faith in finding anything better he still had to keep looking to take advantage of his two remaining encounters. He started to look through the tall grass again frantically along with Flint wondering what bug they would run into next. Whatever it was he just hoped it wasn't another Caterpie.

A strange and yet all too familiar buzzing sound would fill the air. Within seconds, thousands of bright yellow wasps with thick black stripes shot out of the nearby trees and hovered above the park and its bug catching contestants. They would each descend upon the contestants as they struck out with their stingers wildly. Children and trainers alike all ran in different directions – with some quitting on the spot and heading back inside – as the wild Beedrill attacked. One Beedrill in particular spotted Tyler and Flint and would swoop after them angrily, wanting to stab Flint's trainer with its large hand stingers. A Wild Beedrill is attacking Tyler!  Level 12. As soon as Tyler saw the Beedrill he knew he had to act fast if he did not want to get stung. Even a low leveled Beedrill could cause a lot of damage to an unsuspecting trainer and Tyler did not want a trip to the hospital as a result of bad timing. " Ah one of these pests now. I admire your bravery trying to attack me however in this case it was a very dumb mistake. Fltint show this Beedrill the fastest trip to the emergency room it has ever seen. Use Flamethrower on it and make sure it doesn't get back up." He ordered as Flint got ready to attack the bee Pokemon.
