Joey of course would be worried when Ratty was defeated! But it was all in good fun because he was sure they would just get stronger and one day they would become the best rattata trainer ever. After all, Joey was convinced that he had the top percentage rattata, but losses happened and that was okay! You couldn't get better if all you did was win all the time! So he momentarily left Pheonix not forgetting that he would help him find his way to the next city but he had to make sure Ratty was safe to continue. So he excused himself one moment to go to the close Pokemon center that wasn't too far away.
While it didn't take too long to do so and come back the weather had shifted to soft flakes falling from the sky. So when Joey had finished and came back it seemed that he too was just as excited for the snow. With his trusty Ratty by his side, he seemed to be quite in a bright mood. "I love snow!" he said as he came back to where Pheonix had waited and his Pokemon playing in it. "I sure can, me and Ratty know the way by heart!" he commented. By heart might have been a bit of a stretch, but well, who could tell if he was willing to help at least?
So motioning for his newfound friend to follow him Joey led further into Rt. 29. Happy and content to strike up easy conversation on the way like what Pheonix's favorite season was, what his favorite type was, and what food was it seemed that Joey was very interested in the conversation. It was surprising when a wurmple that had been on a tree seemed to slip because of the snow and slick area and fell collapsing right on Joey's head. A shriek came as Joey struggled to knock the pokemon off and went running, Ratty blinked at the situation looking between the wurmple that was now safely in the snow and its trainer that was running off. It quickly moved to follow. Maybe Joey would calm down and come back after Pheonix took care of the little bug?
Wurmple [Lv. 8] has spooked Joey!
What will Pheonix do?
