<No no no! You don't understand! You could never understand.> The ledyba cried out, clearly frantic, any bravado it had previously mustered was gone. All it could do was flounder helplessly as the zubat swooped down and smashed into it once more, causing the ledyba to tumble backwards and flop on the grass, shivering but unable to continue. <I'm sorry...> It covered its face with its front hands, as if to protect itself from further attack, but still so unwilling to cooperate.

But why?

The answer quickly revealed itself in the form of a fluffy white-and-blue shape scuttling down a tree into view. Slinking behind the squirrel was a yungoos, head down, teeth bared, shadowing the fluffball like it was the pachirsu's bodyguard. The little creature hopped over to the ledyba, face scrunched up with disappointment. 

<That was pathetic.> It chittered.

<I'm sorry...please... I'm sorry. I'll make it up to you...> The ledyba warbled.

The pachirisu stuck up its nose and sparked menacingly at the other pokemon and the humans. 

<Tch. No need. I will take care of this myself. Yungoos. Let's make sure they learn why they shouldn't mess with us!>

The strange barrier which had been around the ledyba disappeared as Casper rushed forward and there ended up being nothing in between him and his target when he slammed into it headfirst. He looked complacent as he flapped away from it, and his grin only grew when he heard how the ledyba sunk to the ground and clearly gave up.
"Did you hear that Alfred?! Did you hear it?! I tricked it! I took it out!" Casper boasted as he forgot all about the bug and flapped over to them.

"Don't leave it unguarded!" Astrid exclaimed. "Casper, Alfred, Benny! Make sure it doesn't run off, we need it to find the one behind it!" She urged and two out of three of her pokemon quickly moved forward.
"I don't think that's necessary Ma'am," Kai said quietly as he pointed, the old woman paused to look in that direction with a frown. A white squirrel like pokemon came bounding over, closely followed by a brown one who had its teeth bared.
"That's the one that got away from me!" He added agitated.
"Easy now, they look aggressive and we need to think clear to handle it," Astrid said and looked at them for a moment, "what can your pokedex tell of them?"
Kai quickly pointed his pokedex at the two rogue pokemon while they chattered with the downed ledyba.
"It's a pachirisu, an electric type," he said rather disheartened while Astrid tapped her chin thoughtfully, "a little tricky when I have two flying types with me. What do you got on hand?"
Kai clenched his fists, "a krabby, so totally useless," he answered bitterly and Astrid sent him a look with a raised eyebrow.
"I'll do what I can to handle this then, please keep the crowd in check so they don't get in trouble, and you better use your pokemon for that," Astrid ordered and called her pokemon closer.
"Crowd?" Kai mumbled confused and looked around, his mouth fell open when he saw how many people and pokemon who had gathered, he quickly let out a rather small krabby and began to ask people around to stay back and at a safe distance.

"This is going to be a tough battle and I will be ready with healings so just let me know. I need you to do what you can to get the white pachirisu to hit with a little strength as you can get it to. And Benny, try get its attention, you will be the one who can handle it best, okay?" Astrid instructed her pokemon.
"You got it boss! Great plan!" Benny said cheerfully and trotted towards the two wild pokemon to confront them as well.
Alfred bowed his head and gracefully accepted the oran berry and the candy which Astrid gave him, he rushed after Benny when he had gobbled them down.
Casper didn't notice that Astrid was giving him a berry, nor that the other left to battle, he was too busy talking to her. "They won't be a problem at all!" Casper reassured his trainer as she tried to push the berry into his mouth, he pushed it away with a wing. "You heard how I handled the other one? I'm going to do that here even more swiftly! They won't know what hit them! And I'm poisonous you know? One touch and they will crumble! I'll go mfffh mffh!" He got cut off as Astrid finally managed to push the berry past his small teeth and he had to chew to be able to swallow and get it out of the way.

The Ringleader glared at the useless waste of a minion as Ledyba slowly crept over to the sidelines. It wasn’t worthy of the ranks if it couldn’t handle an elderly cop and her Pokemon. “Shouldn’t your trainer be in a nursing home by now?” Pachirisu scoffed, chatting cattily at Benny and Alfred. “Do you really want to take me on? The two of you?” Pachirisu asked curiously.

Benny found an untapped potential of speed. Whether it was his need to show his skills or to right a wrong, the small plant Pokemon slammed into the Ringleader and its Minion with sharp leaves. Both of the Pokemon jumped back, with Pachirisu’s minion slowly backing away until the white squirrel stepped on her tail. “Where are you going?! No where! Now do as you’re told!” The Ringleader barked angrily at it’s Minion.

Minion charged forward. Alfred’s growl wouldn’t deter either of the Pokemon. As the Ringleader shocked Alfred with a powerful spark of electricity, Minion would pursue the strange plant. Though the attack had enough force and vigor to take Alfred out, through some miracle, he clung on in spite of everything else. At the same time. Yungoos lunged after Benny and slammed into the plant with all of his might. “Give up yet, birdbrain?!” Pachirisu asked Alfred.

Tarlar Alfred's HP was 15/33 (-18 PT difference) before level up. The level up note was wrong, and should have been 19/37 NOT 19/27. So Oran Berries are credited but that would be the biggest discrepancy in Alfred not being 100% at start.

Benny frowned and pursed his lips, "hey stop that! That isn't nice," he protested as the white squirrel both spoke badly about Astrid and tyrannized its two not-so-innocent helpers.
He whirled up a lesser storm (or really just a batch of leaves), and sent the two theives reeling back. The ledyba probably would feel relieved not to be in the middle of it now, and the yungoos looked like it wanted to do nothing but run too.
"This has gone too far, step down and let us handle it," the fomantis added and pointed a leafy arm at the Ringleader.

Alfred came swooping in, right into the electric spark which flew through the air, and he fell like a stone.
"Alfred!" Astrid gasped horrified and for once lost her calm, "ALFRED!!"
Kai turned his head worriedly and it didn't help when the onlookers began asking him questions about the battle and how Astrid was doing.
Benny turned halfway, only to get thrown to the ground by the yungoos, this didn't look good at all. Kai looked more and more nervous.

Alfred wasn't done though, through the daze he lifted his head stubbornly, "that was not very gentlemanlike," he declared slurred, "you are way out of line and it will have consequences if you don't stop right now." He was not done with this rude pachirisu. "I kan guess you haven't been treated nicely but stepping down on their level is way beyond you, it is time you show some proper behavior and act accordingly. Let your helpers go and stop terrorising kids in the park, instantly!"
The taillow's head fell down as the dark succumbed him but he shook his head as he lifted it again. "This behavior is not acceptable!" He growled again.

Benny shot his fighting partner a worried look, then he started shouting at the two criminals, "yeah! You heard him! Stop right now or I'll let you see what the consequences are!" He readied some other leaves. "Hey! Furball! Were you dumped in milk, or could your color just not stay on in the rain? You look ridiculous!" Benny puffed himself up and took a few threatening steps towards the pachirisu.

"What? What?! What's going on?!" Casper demanded to know as he turned his head left and right, blind as a bat he was.

Astrid stepped unsteadily closer to her pokemon, wary of the pachirisu which could shock her pretty badly too. "Alfred? Come here if you need my help!" The old officer urged her bird, he ignored her stoically, he didn't have the energy to move.

Not our fault those little humans are grabby and stupid!> The ringleader retorted smugly, moving to menace the felled bird that it had struck down to limping with a single spark. It tried to loom, clearly enjoying the power it had over the bird like a true bully. Its fluffy tail twitched, and as it prepared another spark, Benny threw some more leaves and snagged its irritated attention. <Minion! Get that plant off my back! Why haven't you dealt with it by now?! Useless!>

Minion shrank back for a moment before chasing after the plant as it was commanded, leering with as much menace as it could manage, trying to be intimidating so that plant would lower its guard. As it cornered Benny to try to keep him off the boss' back, the Ringleader looked back at the taillow with a sneer.

<Time for you to learn a lesson like those punk kids.> And with one more spark, it toasted that taillow and chittered mockingly up at the granny that seemed to be fussing over her special, funny-colored pet bird.

"I.. I told you already, you are out of line!" Alfred coughed as he stubbornly clung to his consciousness, the darkness lured at the corners of his eyes. Benny looked nervously from Alfred to the squirrel, "quiet! Shut up!" He hissed at the bird, he could see how his attempts to catch the Ringleader's attention went down the drain with every word Alfred was saying. Even with the fomantis' mocking and throwing of leaves, the pachirisu ignored him and sent his minion to face him, Benny mimicked that behavior and ignored the yungoos the best he could.
Benny winced when the spark found the bird and Alfred had to give in to the darkness, his head fell to the ground and he lay still.
The fomantis took a step forward and straightened to try look big and intimidating, "well, now its just you and me, you think you stand a chance?" He threatened and threw some more leaves.

Astrid slumped a bit but didn't freak out as she quickly recalled her taillow, this was not the first fainting she had experienced and it probably wouldn't be the last either, both she and her pokemon still had some learning to do. "It is your turn Casper, and sweetheart, please be careful. That electric shock can take you out just as quickly as it did with Alfred. Try not to draw attention to you and perhaps see if you can confuse it?" Astrid gave some advice to her zubat. Casper had his whole attention at the battle in front of him, his hears twitched at each sound and neither turned towards Astrid, but his hearing was so good it wasn't needed.
He sent out a soundwave to pinpoint the participants in the battle and then he raced off, far off to the right which wouldn't take him to the fight. Astrid frowned but decided to trust her pokemon, so she stood up and turned halfway to the crowd watching, she sent them a reassuring smile.
"I did not say this would not be a tough battle, these rascals has made quite some trouble, if they were not good at fighting they would have been stopped a long time ago," she explained and Kai visibly relaxed.
"We have things under control! A minor setback which will not affect the outcome. Keep calm and let us do our job, we will bring the pokemon to order," he added to further calm the crowd who seemed to react positively to it. Some of the spectators directed further questions to Kai, who did what he could to answer.

Casper flapped hard and occasionally turned his head to give a short soundwave in Pachirisu's direction to figure out where it was, and when he thought it wasn't turned in his direction he did a sharp turn and dived straight at it with his forehead glowing.

<Oh, another one of you flying pests? Tch. I will take you down like your little friend! Pokemon like you will never understand. YOU never were grabbed at by some punk kid until it got bored then abandoned in the middle of some weird human habitat. YOU didn't have to pick up the pieces of your life. This world is the weak are controlled by the strong. You either are the one giving orders, or you're the one getting stepped on. At least with me, my minions don't have to worry about stupid human brats mistreating them ever again!> 

The growing crowd looked curious.

One of the kids tugged on their mom's skirt and mentioned how that was the meanie who stole her snacks last week. How was something so cute, so mean?

Benny slammed the pair with more sharp leaves, but this time, they were even keener and focused. Minion was knocked out and the Ringleader snarled. <Useless! Bah! I'll show you why I'm the boss. I'm not a useless WEAKLING!> Sparking up, the pachirisu lunged at the bat and slammed Casper to the ground. But before they could finish the flying-pest off, Casper struck back with a zen headbutt and stunned the rodent senseless. It slumped, seeing stars.

Finally, the terrorizer of the park was subdued.

Though how would Astrid proceed? Would she capture it or hope this sound defeat would keep it from causing more mayhem?
