The Rocket in the Tunnel (Bike)(F)

As Tyler entered the Goldenrod Tunnels he was amazed by how run down most of it was. The areas with shops such as the salon he had visited way back were in good shape but most of the tunnels looked like they had recently been through a war with trash spewed about and damage to the walls in various parts. It would be the perfect place for a Cthulhu ritual cult to call home and Tyler could see why it was so easy for other Rocket members to operate in the city without getting caught. " No cop who values their life would be caught dead in these parts, any Pokemon in here must either be brave or stupid as well as this is no place for weaklings."

As he walked along the tunnel with Fenrir by his side he started to wonder what species of Pokemon might be hiding about just waiting to join the ranks of Team Rocket as such a deplorable place must be home to Pokemon that would fit right in within their ranks. Not only that but some of the Pokemon must be worth battling for the experience as such a rough part of the city must have some Pokemon with decent survival skills to last very long against any thugs who called the tunnels home as well as any of the other Pokemon about. Tyler did not have to walk long before the various sounds of Pokemon in the area put him on alert as he was not about to be caught off guard in such a mugging friendly place.

" Any moron caught off guard here fully deserves what happens to them. Fenrir be on the lookout in cause anyone gets any bright ideas. These walls should make great breaks to catch anyone we send flying if they get any bright ideas. I have no doubt we are being watched by someone or something this very moment." Seconds later Fenrir could pick up on the aura of something up ahead and he pointed Tyler in the direction of the aura. " Something is up ahead just behind that directory up ahead. I do not know if it is a human or a Pokemon but it does make a great place to jump out and ambush someone who cannot detect aura." Upon getting the warning Tyler grabbed Defibrillator's Pokeball just in case the young Pawmi could handle what was waiting. If not Fenrir could still use a bit more practice before the next mission.

As the Voltorb rolled towards him Tyler had little doubt the strange creature could be a useful addition to his team as they along with their evolution were known for their ability to explode as well as using several powerful electric type attacks. They were fast as well and being able to usually strike first was never a bad thing especially if it hit a target weak to electric type moves. Most of his team had no hope of keeping up with it but one Pokemon he had was able to only due to his level being higher though it was a bit of a risky choice.

" I know there is a risk that we will knock Voltorb out but Fenrir it is by far the best choice if I have you try and weaken this Voltorb enough to capture it. Since it can resist your steel type attacks I do believe those will be our best option to try and not knock it out in a single blow." Fenrir then stepped forward and looked at his foe ready to get things started. He was not afraid of the spherical Pokemon at all but could not deny how useful it might be if luck was on their side.

" This thing seems a bit cliché for a Rocket member to use on their team but I guess sometimes that can work in our favor. I will try my best to not knock it out but since it is so small I am not sure if it will be able to endure an attack it resists even under the best of circumstances." Seconds later Fenrir started to build up an energy of blinding light as he took aim at the young Voltorb and got ready to fire once he was sure his aim was true.

" Fenrir once you have Voltorb lined up use your Flash Cannon to try and weaken that Voltorb. I will have an Ultra Ball ready to try our luck after you launch your attack. I sure hope it is not too much trouble to capture as I am running low on stock right now." As he dug through his backpack to find an Ultra Ball Fenrir finally lunached his attack and Tyler hoped he was not making a mistake in using such a powerful Pokemon. He had no clue how rare a Voltorb might be in these parts and he did not want to hunt another one down if it could be avoided.

As the Ultra Ball clicked shut Tyler was quite happy to capture the Voltorb without too much effort, though he was starting to run low on Ultra Balls he felt his current stocks should hold up for at least one more encounter before he would have to resupply and he hoped he could get one more good addition to his team before needing to make any further investments to his supplies. He had saved up a nice nest egg and spending it before he had to was something he was hoping to avoid as he still had not managed to get a big score yet that would keep him well funded far into the future.

" Good to see that Voltorb make the right choice, such a strong electric type will indeed come in handy quite soon. once I am able to buy a technical machine for Thunderbolt it will be even more useful. A shame I am not rich so I could afford to both buy the technical machine and stock up on Ultra Balls at the same time but I guess after a few good hauls I will be able to afford both." For now he decided to keep looking around to see if anything else useful would show up and to train his team until they were ready to face their next mission.

As much as Tyler wanted to get a promotion he knew he would not be able to complete the next mission with his current team and that as much as he disliked it he would have to keep training until they were finally ready for the task at hand. Fenrir and Flint were already looking forward to raising hell as soon as possible as both were ready to go but until the others caught up they were essentially dead weight on Tyler's team only able to watch from the sideline. As disappointing as that was to both of them they knew when the time came they would plan a vital role in Tyler's plans and knew their boredom would pay off in the end.

" Hopefully the others can get trained real soon, I want to see just how far I have come and prove myself on a mission. I want to show the world our power and the sooner I am able to the better." Tyler just chuckled before he turned towards a dark corner of the tunnel fully expecting something to head towards him any moment now.

As soon as the Gastly appeared Tyler knew he had no need for the specter as he already had a member of their species and though this one was a pretty high level that was the only advantage it had over his and just a bit of time would fix that issue. Being so low on Ultra Balls also made it too costly to try and capture it or else he might have tried his luck to make a quick buck. Such a high leveled Pokemon would not totally go to waste however as it made for the perfect sparring partner for Fenrir to train against a bit more before the next mission.

" At least Gastly are a respectable species unlike some who call this place home. If only I did not have one already I would try to bring you along but alas I have no further need of your species as far as capturing you goes. You do look pretty strong however and I am curious to see how well Fenrir can handle ghost types when he cannot use any of his fighting type moves so you will be a good test for him." He then watched as the young Lucario stepped forward ready to battle the ghost type across from him.

As Fenrir studied his opponent he knew that only his steel type moves would be of any use but Metal Claw was a bit risky to use as it had a slight accuracy issue which Flash Cannon did not have. Flash Cannon was also more powerful and such a strong foe deserved to face his most powerful attack head on leaving Fenrir with no doubt in his mind that Flash Cannon was the right move to use in this situation. Before Tyler could even say a word he already started to take in light to power the attack. After a few seconds he was ready and waited for Tyler's permission to strike.

" Fire at will Fenrir, I look forward to seeing how well your Flash Cannon will do here. Such a powerful move was well worth the investment to deal with ghost and fairy types who can endure your fighting type moves. It is no Outrage or Giga Impact or Hyper Beam but it certainly hits hard enough. I just wonder if it hits hard enough to knock out a ghost type in a single hit?" He wondered as Fenrir launched his attack.

As Fenrir quickly obliterated the poor Gastly in a single strike Tyler quickly set about his hunt for any other useful Pokemon while still trying to train the rest of his team for his upcoming mission. Fenrir, Senorita Ramirez and Flint had now finished their training and now he just had to raise the other three Pokemon on his team so they would all be ready to take on the next challenge. Doing so would not be the easiest task as unlike the others they were not as powerful until they evolved and only Defibrillator and Zira could do so without earning the next badge first.

The other issue was the potential for replacing one of them with another Pokemon before the mission started which would take more time if he decided to do so. As much as he hated any potential delays Tyler did not want to take any chances he also wanted to cover for every potential outcome to minimize the risks involved as slow as that process would be. The only good thing about minimizing the risk was that completing this next mission successfully would certainly earn him a promotion and Tyler was quite eager to finally earn a uniform instead of going around in street clothes so that no one would doubt him being a member of the glorious team.

" Alright Fenrir you will have to wait until our next mission before I use you again. You will be the nasty surprise I unleash should any gym leaders try and get in our way during the next mission. I pity any fool who tries to stop me with you around. They might expect the usual cannon fodder Pokemon to be used but no gym leader or police officer would expect a member of Team Rocket to unleash a Lucario such as yourself against them."

As Tyler daydreamed about his potential promotion a nearby trash can suddenly fell over gaining his attention as it was either a human who walked into the wrong neighborhood or a Pokemon who had made the same mistake and in either case he was not going to have any pity for them. He would happily dispose of them to raise his team and potentially add to his ranks with every chance he got and he just had to wait until whatever knocked the trashcan over to show itself so that he could make his next move.

" Come on out I dare you, I will show you the power of Team Rocket one way or another."

Quite shocked by the appearance of a second Gastly in a row Tyler initially reconsidered his stance on capturing another one as he was sure some fool would offer him a pretty penny for a strong ghost type such as itself however his limited stock of Ultra Balls and desire to get his team ready for the next mission as quickly as possible killed off any plans to do so rather quickly. Though he did not plan on wasting any Ultra Balls on this Gastly either he saw it as a great opportunity to raise Zira bit bit more so she could catch up with most of his team.

" These things just keep coming for some reason, a shame I am not hunting for Gastly or this would be a jackpot moment right now. Anyway I will not let this opportunity go to waste as Zira really needs to train more. She is so close to evolving and her Bite should be the perfect move to use against a specter such as this. Hopefully it doesn't have any tricks up it's sleeves as Zira is not exactly fast despite her feline lineage. She is better that ambushing her prey but Gastly is too quick to just pounce on unlike most of her victims.

Seconds later the blue feline stepped forward ready to take a big chomp out of the Gastly as she readied her fangs in anticipation. A fast foe would be a great test of her skills before the next mission and there was no way she was going to outpace a Gastly at her current level no matter what trick she tried to pull. In this case brute strength and brains would have to make up for speed as she made her way towards her target with the look of pure hatred on her face.

" Zira use your Bite to show this ghost who is boss. I want it to be in so much pain that any other Gastly that thinks of popping out will be scared out of their wits by the time it is all said and done. Show no mercy as you strike your foe with all of your might." As Zira approached her target she kept her eyes locked right on her foe just waiting for the right moment to strike. She was not used to the form factor her foe took on but winning this battle was the only thing that mattered to her.

With the Gastly swiftly dealt with Tyler was able to get back to his goal of training his team while also looking for other Pokemon that might be useful on their next mission. He was getting very close to needing to make a pitstop to deposit half or more of his team into his box until the rest caught up as he had very little wiggle room left for training most of them. He knew if he did not encounter anything useful soon he would have to do just that as he could not risk raising his Pokemon too much before taking on the mission and risking them defying him for lacking enough badges to retain their respect.

" Hopefully something comes out that one of the others can handle so I do not need to rely on Zira again. I cannot risk using my other stronger Pokemon any further and I do not think I can use her safely after one more battle. As much as I would hate to swap my team around for any time at all I will likely have to do so and very soon." Both Sparky his Electrike and Blitz the Magnemite could prove useful but the other Pokemon in his box were not very well suited for battling in a city yet alone taking on a mission in their current state and he knew it.

The upside to everything was that a large portion of his team was finally ready for the challenge ahead and most of the others were very close to joining them. Just a bit more training and maybe a swap or two and he would finally be ready to prove himself worthy of a promotion into a full fledged grunt in Team Rocket and he could hardly wait to earn his uniform. The sooner he did the sooner Mania would be able to fit back on his team so that she could continue to raise hell with him and he could hardly wait to make use of her powers more.

" Going so long without being able to bring Mania along feels so strange given all the time we have spent together. Everyone give it your all so that we can finally move on from this cesspool and reunite with her again once we reach Ecruteak." He then snapped his fingers as Zira, Chomper, and Defibrillator all got into position ready to strike at whatever jumped out next.

The next Pokemon to appear was one Tyler was all too familiar with as he had already started to train an Electrike a while back until it's lack of competence led to him giving up on the mutt for the time being. Given how useful an electric type could be on his next mission however he knew he could potentially make use of such a creature if this one was of a higher mental capacity than Sparky was. Tyler got down on one knee to get a better look at the Electrike when Chomper started to walk forward quite eager to investigate the strange canine Pokemon himself.

[color-limegreen]" You do seem like you are less dumb than the Electrike I have been raising so I think you might actually be worth investing in. As a proud member of Team Rocket I am always looking to grow stronger and if you would like to become part of our team I will gladly give you a shot if you can prove yourself worthy. First however you have to prove to me you are not a total waste of my time. Chomper I do believe you will be the perfect foe for this little mutt to prove itself against."[/color]

Wasting no time at all the dinosaur Pokemon started to walk forward with his jaw wide open ready to take a chomp out of the Electrike before him to show it that he meant business. Chomper's tiny legs were the only issue as he could barely keep up with most Pokemon half his level and would likely not get the jump on Electrike no matter how hard he tried. Fenrir found the whole show amusing as he knew he could easily outpace an Electrike such as this any day of the week however he also knew such a fight would hardly even resemble a fair test of the young ones skills.

" A shame this little one is not stronger or I would test it myself. Alas Chomper you should be quite the test for an electric type to face as any jolt it tries to give you should barely cause any damage. Beating you will take quite a bit of creativity on this one's part and I will be quite amused if it somehow happens." As soon as Fenrir stopped speaking Tyler gave Chomper the order to strike. " Chomper use Bite, let's see if this ELectrike has any endurance at all or if it is a wimp."
