Caribes found themselves surrounded by likeminded peers inside of the organization. Most were in competitions to prove who had accomplished the most, with many newly fledged grunts left to feel as though there was nothing that could knock them off their pedestals. They smiled politely, adding in some coarse chuckles as commentary proved useful for the input, and sat back with their mental thoughts quietly. Many of these fresh faces were nowhere near ready compared to the hardened men they led underneath their wing when infiltrating Silph Co. before their mission went sideways and they found themselves locked securely behind bars with little hope for parole. "You've stolen five Pokemon so far? And mostly Butterfree and Beedrill..." They hummed softly, scratching the bottom of their chin in quiet contemplation.
Their acquaintance was a tall, gangly fellow with thick, wiry black hair that spilled halfway down his back. He had thick rimmed glasses pressed against his face with fake prescription, as he believed it created the perfect look to disguise himself when traversing open terrains where cops might be out prowling for would-be criminals. They had been none the wiser so far, thus Caribes' counterpart truly saw no reason to switch up what seemed to work well. "Yep! They may just be bugs, but they're a quick reminder to those weak chumps not to mess with Team Rocket. Not now, not ever!" The gentleman scoffed, tilting his head back with a haughty laugh. Caribes nodded silently and continue to brood inside of their head. It was a wonder their company stayed afloat with such imbecillic candidates lining up to fill the void, though they needed some fodder to fold under those who were truly capable so that the skilled could rise into their thrones.
"Ever thought of going after the big fish?" A sparkle illuminated Caribes' eyes as they spoke. They would part ways with their friend and stalk up to the list of Pokemon that their organization wanted. Some were obvious contenders given their relative worth or who the individual that caught the company's eye was. But a lowly cat pinned to the billboard on a withered looking sheet of paper managed to catch Caribes' eye the most. Meowth were nothing special beyond the affinity some grunts had for adding them to the team, as though a cat was the perfect image to stand by. Giovanni had his Persian, no doubt, and many clamored in the likeness of his image. But...why a simple cat? It was a mystery the fifty-something year old grunt wanted to answer for themselves.
They slipped into a business casual attire with pressed jeans and a nice button up shirt. They placed a fedora firmly on their head and attached a realistic mustache above their lips. Before hitting the door, though, Caribes tested the durability of their newfound facial hair and assured that without the right substance to remove it, they might risk collecting some skin in the midst of tearing it off. That was fine, hair should hurt when pulled and shouldn't be plucked away freely. Then they hit the open road and traversed all the way to the wooded terrain that linked New Bark Town and Cherrygrove City together. Now they just needed the right Pokemon - Teddy - to set the trap by luring the boy away from his bodyguards whilst Steven created a distraction to hopefully lure the kid's bodyguards away by mimicking his voice.
"Steven, fly up into that tree and wait. Something tells me our friend will be along shortly. You're to listen until our candidate speaks and then mimick his exact voice to get the bodyguards to follow you in a wild goose chase. Teddy, you'll wander out out when the time is right. You're a rare specimen in these parts, something any rich, snobby person would want just to say they have it." The trap was being prepared, now they just needed the key ingredients to make it work. Bodyguards who could be duped as soon as they couldn't keep up by trying to chase a rich boy who only wanted to chase after rare, sought after creatures such as Spinda.
OOC: Switching in Teddy & Steven to replace Kayako & Babadook. Three selected will be: Steven, Teddy, & Scizzorhands. Will self-update changes.

Trying a hand in Pokemon thievery, Caribes got himself a new disguise and setting up a trap to lure away the young boy away and his bodyguards, and then his precious Meowth. The head honchos in Team Rocket must have known something about this Meowth to put a target on it. Maybe it was bred from a long line of precious Meowth and Persian that it acquired a powerful skill, or it had other tricks up its sleeves that it unlocked its hidden potential. Either way, the middle age man would have to confront the boy to see the Meowth for himself. A consistent but gentle breeze wafted through the area, shaking up the foliage left and right, rustling every plant, signposts, and trash in its invisible path. It didn't take long for the target, or who it seemed to be the target, appeared. A young boy, grown, with thick suave hair to charm fellow youngsters to be his fans, wearing a well paired suit, pants, and shoes, stridden with an air of arrogance or confidence. Next to him, were two men who were obviously older than the young boy. One was a bit younger and have more energy in his stride, the other was older and have more calmness in his movement. Based on the description of the posting, they seemed to match the description or idea of the boy's bodyguard. The target had hands in his pocket and kept on walking, unaware that he was about to be targeted by a Team Rocket member. He turned and saw the Spinda, and chuckled to himself. "Some fam ghosted their Spinda? Or the Spinda delulu its way inside the city? Bruh" If Caribes was hoping to stall young mister Roswell, then the Spinda wasn't working as well as he had thought. Was it because the boy had grown since the bulletin board posting? It couldn't have been that long! Or the Spinda just teetering about confused and looking unrefined to match the young silver spoon's social status? Or Spinda weren't cool trendy anymore for the young boy? The three kept on walking on, ignoring the Spinda. He had somewhere better to go than to help a poor Spinda. Well, at least the Chatot could try imitating his voice, hopefully Caribes and Teddy didn't feel mid from this rejection. OOC: giving you a twist! Cherrygrove is currently tailwind for weather Please swap your pokemon next post. not messing with your codes The information says bodyguards, so I'm making it 2 minimum. They could be distracted too (?) whoever mod when battle happens can decide on the bodyguard's Pokemon (and if it's double battle, etc. shouldn't be too many for a level 10 quest) thank you internet for gen z slang translation

Their plan was foiled simply because the kid in question seemed to be an uninterested teen who probably enjoyed spending most of their time on stupid apps on their phone. Caribes flared their nostrils and glared at Jake in quiet answer. They were mentally cursing in their heads over the fact that this new generation seemed to lack the simple wonders and awes of previous generations, instead taking to their gadgets and gizmos to entertain themselves. Why couldn’t Jake simply take the bait and follow Teddy off into the woods on a wild goose chase, giving Steven the ample space and room, he needed to shout out cries of help for Jake’s bodyguards?
Caribes sat in their hidden spot behind the large bush and slammed his chin into the palm of one hand with a low growl. They had to replan this strategy once more if they wanted it to play off in their favor. Perhaps…they could enlist the help of a recently caught and a bit out of control anteater that they’d recently pilfered off an unsuspecting sap who seemed ripe for the picking? They could also unleash the wrath of Scissorhands, they supposed, though that was a gamble. Doubtful such a simple minded and rather idiotic twerp would look up from their phone for more than two seconds over a bug unless it was to scream and squirm away.
They were rich…
Steven poked his head out from between a thick bundle of bright green cordate leaves and chirped. He fluffed his bright blue and sleek black feathers up with a quick shake of his body and carefully preened through them, clearing away any damaged or old feathers with a quick pluck. “Mission time?! Mission, mission?! Now, we go now?! Now, mission, now?!” He squawked in an almost comical voice like an 80’s villain excited to unravel the details of their next latest and greatest mission. “Bear stupid, not Steven! Fool ‘em good, sir, fool ‘em good!” He tried his best to ensure Caribes as he continued in haste and pecked nervously at the branch he stood on.
Caribes growled with a dour expression cast in Steven’s direction. Such a noisy creature! Why they considered bringing him on any missions or doing more than keeping them locked up for infinity Caribes didn’t know. “You hush it up right now, understand me?!” Caribes snapped with a harsh whisper, pressing one finger to their lips to silence their pea-brained bird. Steven settled back down and huffed, fluffing himself up in quiet contempt. “I’m thinking…and it’s got to be just the right plan. Hah! Yes, I know what I can use!”
They pulled a small smoke bomb out of their bag and followed their target quietly, waiting for the right moment to strike. When Jake and his bodyguards decided to take a break along their journey, Caribes would pull the pin out of the bomb and roll it quietly across the ground into the thick grass. It exploded into a cloud of thick grey smoke, clogging the area in the blink of an eye. Steven fluttered up into a tree a short distance away and squawked in the same typical voice Jake recently used, mixing the words instead into cries for help. “Oh no! There’s fire! My parents aren’t paying you two to let me burn up in a cloud of smoke. Get over here and save me!” Steven called from somewhere in the distance, hoping to still distract the guards for his trainer. Caribes waited, fingers poised to snap the command for their Pokemon to jump into action instead, if that didn’t work.

"Did you hear something?" The target asked aloud, looking around idly, phone still in hand. "Hm. Must have just been a video I scrolled past." Unlike him, his bodyguards were alert and dubious of the rich kid's conclusion. They kept walking away from the bumbling spinda that totes wasn't on trend anymore to have, because like...rare and useless was out. Cool and useful was in. "Why you two all tense like that? What's gotcha all sus?" He chuckled. Back to his phone and video. "Heh. Skitty riding a skateboard. Never gets old." Odd noise forgotten, the target kept moving along and there was enough of a lull that even the bodyguards stopped searching the surrounding area for threats, dismissing the voice as indeed one of the videos on their young master's device. As they walked, enjoying the gentle breezes that whispered through Cherrygrove, all seemed quiet and peaceful. Birds chittered. Small mammals scampered. Flowers bloomed. The target even stopped when he passed a bench to wave at a cute feline sunbathing there, a bell collar around their neck. "It's Loaf. How are you today, Loaf? Enjoying your nap~? Always nice to see you doing well." A few seconds of questionable cutesy talking and a selfie with the pudgy purugly later and the feline yawned, making the target grin and move along, flanked by those ever present guards. There was no obvious opening...unless someone made one. Suddenly, there was smoke. The target threw his hands over his face and coughed, unable to breathe or see. Then he heard his voice...away from him. Saying something about a fire? He couldn't get a breath in. He couldn't tell his guards it was a trick! He felt their presence leave his side. Oh no! Wait. Come back!
You have lured the bodyguards away for now... But you will need to do something to get them fully separated from their target before the smoke clears!

A devious smile crept across the elderly recruit’s face. Their tactics were slowly working in their favor, though they needed to carefully maneuver the next key pieces of the puzzle in order to ensure that they reaped the most from the adventure. The bodyguards followed Steven, who fluttered a little further away each time and kept calling them to lure them as far as he could get them, without having them leave the smoke infested zone. “I’m already leaving a one star review. You haven’t help me yet? *cough* I’m dying from the smoke inhalation, guys!” Steven squawked loudly, a spot on imitation of the twerp.
Meanwhile, Caribes had already gone straight to work laying out the snare trap that would be triggered by the bodyguards’ weight. It only needed one person to step on it. Much like a bear trap though made from ropes on a pully system that would seize them and suspend them in the air from the sturdy branch of a nearby tree, Caribes just had to make sure the bodyguards kept following Steven’s voice. A little further… that was the spirit! He was close to realizing the potential of this operation, hopefully with a precious cat in toe that should reward him handsomely for his hard work.
Teddy stumbled back to Caribes side and rubbed his face in utter disappointment of his failed attempts at luring the young boy away. Would he become a soup now that he had loss when his trainer needed him to succeed the most? There weren’t many tasty bear soup recipes out there, and maybe if Teddy just figured a way to prove to his trainer that he could still be of use for their mission?! He toddled on his feet, zigzagging in erratic patterns as the bodyguards were lured slowly and surely towards the detonation zone, clawed paws outstretched in preparation of his next move. This would surely show Caribes he was worth keeping!
However, the elderly Rocket recruit was not amused. Bright orange irises widened in alarm, the lids of their eyes pulling back as far as humanly possible. What is this idiot bear trying to do now?! Jeopardize everything I’m working hard to set up here?! I outta turn him into a new jacket to help keep me warm next winter if he messes things up for me! They fumed quietly in their head and watched the fiasco slowly play out before them. Everything was just starting to go to plan. Teddy hadn’t been that much of a waste of space when they’d first pilfered the bear off a poor and unsuspecting trainer with ease. What in the world was going on in that empty head of his?!
Teddy growled; a short sound meant to lure the bodyguard’s attention before they might somehow spot the trap through the thick smoke. He’d wave, a friendly gesture as though he were trying to befriend the two humans, then use his thick paws and heavy weight to shove the bodyguards into the trap. While Spinda were normally only around ten pounds, Teddy carried an Iron Ball on him that weighed him down substantially. He tried to make sure that there was no earthly way for them to somehow avoid the snare meant to seize them. Teddy knew he needed to keep them occupied while his trainer did whatever bad guy trainers do best to little kids with valuable Pokemon worth pickpocketing off their persons. ”Delulu bear won’t leave us alone!” Steven flapped his wings and squawked loudly, not sure what Teddy’s plans were and hoping this would help Caribes’ plans to stealing the furry feline.

The plan went flawlessly. The target was disoriented by hearing his own voice, trying to speak up but choking on the smoke. He tried to flee so he could breathe properly, running out of the smoke and stumbling to his knees to catch his breath. "D-don't listen to that voice! It is not me! It's some sort of trap!" He tried to call out. But he wasn't sure if his bodyguards could hear. And now he was separated from them. Oh dear. He looked around helplessly, trying to find the threat he didn't think he could manage on his own. Deep in the smoke, the two bodyguards tried to make their way towards the voice. They couldn't see the spinda and they were suddenly and bodily slammed into some kind of snare! As their world lurched, one of them men managed to keep a hold of his pokeballs. He threw it. A staravia emerged, flapping his wings. "Ares, I need you to alert the *cough* authorities!" the man sputtered out. The staravia flared his wings and beat them, clearly a well-trained bird. Unless otherwise attacked, he would fly off to go get help...leaving the target isolated and the bodgyguards helpless in the snare. It might be more efficient to handle the target now...or for the sake of preventing any nosy nancys, he could stop that bird from escaping the smoke back to town. Bodyguard Roman sent out a [LV 15] Staravia to go get help! Will you stop the staravia or try to wrap this up quickly with the target? Moves: Dual WingbeatTM, Double Team, Quick Attack, Sand AttackEM

Time was a factor that slowly slipped out of their grasp. Sharp saffron hues narrowed their gaze on the two bodyguards snatched up into the air of their spring trap. Caribes smirked, quietly applauding themselves from their hard efforts. Teddy was a fuse that detonated inith a front of the two bodyguards, causing a kink in the plan that Caribes couldn’t have accounted for. Thankfully, it worked on in their favor. The spotted ursine already failed them once, Caribes wouldn’t have tolerated a second failure especially within the same mission. Teddy stumbled away to the sidelines and stared at his trainer with large swirly eyes that seemingly spun in their socket. Somehow, though, they conveyed sadness.
“Don’t give me that look, you dumb bear.” Caribes snapped through flared nostrils. He glared at the cream-colored bear whose splotches covered several spots along his sides, backs, and arms. Two smaller red splotches decorated his ears like tear drops leading towards Teddy’s head. “You’re the one who failed us the first time. I can’t trust you on missions if you’re just going to be a bumbling idiot. You know this.” Caribes gave Teddy a harsh sneer. Caribes’ rich marmalade hued irises glanced towards their bag where their supplies, including a frying pan for cooking up simple meals, sat. “You know what that means.”
Teddy growled quietly underneath his breath and lowered himself on the ground. He pulled his legs up to his chest and wrapped his arms around his knees tightly. All that effort to help Caribes! He hadn’t managed to budge the old geezer an inch on what his supposed futuristic outcome would be! Why even bother?! “I can’t help what kids like now though…I can’t change what I am!” Teddy cried with a shake of his head. This simply wasn’t fair! What if he hadn’t helped? Would the two stumbling bodyguards of that idiotic child’s have managed to clamor inside of the trap Caribes set out?! “What could I have even done different?! Really!?” He huffed angrily, balling his fists up at his side.
Caribes’ eyes turned and widened in alarm as Roman managed to free one of his Pokemon to get it to search for help. Caribes snapped a finger and nodded towards Teddy. “Alright, it’s your time to shiny Dumbo! Up, on your feet. At once! Trick Room and Teeter Dance, before Staravia can fly away!” They snapped firmly. If that bird managed to go and collect the cops, it could ruin everything that they slowly set up to try and steal away the stupid boy’s feline. Teddy’s large ears twitched as his trainer called out to him. He turned his eyes questioningly to the cruel elderly gent who threatened them only seconds ago. Why should be bother? Carefully, Teddy rose onto his feet, awaiting to see what the reward might possibly be.
“You want to prove your value on my team. Right? Well, now’s your last chance to do so!” Caribes scoffed. Did they need to spell everything out for the stumbling buffoon?! Teddy nodded, keeping his Iron Ball tucked close to his side, and stepped out of the dense smoke with a loud cry. “Hey, you! Idiot bird! You’re not getting off that fast, you know!” Teddy shouted, creating a large room that wrapped around the entire field in an attempt to ensnare the bird in place. He would then quickly follow it by rocking back and forth on the tips of his feet, teetering in an odd pattern meant to confusion the large avian. If there was a chance he could rewrite his future and survive a bit longer on Caribes’ team…well, he had to take it!

Ares was a well-trained staravia. He was the chosen pokemon of a bodyguard for a reason. Not only was he rough and tumble and ready to battle, he followed orders dutifully and without question. He flapped his wings to go higher and higher, escaping the smoke and launching towards the city to seek help. But before he could escape the scene, a strange, dazzling wall erupted in front of him, causing the staravia to balk. No. He would NOT fail his mission, even if it meant back tracking a bit to smack whatever caught it in this topsy turvy world. With a cry, he closed his wings flush to his body and dive-bombed the spinda with his full momentum, opening up his wings at the last minute to give that spinda a 1, 2, upper cut special! However, before he could follow it up with another smack, the spinda did an odd, entrancing dance that left him dizzied and disoriented. What? Why was the world all wibbly? The staravia wobbled. This...wasn't good? Ares momentarily abandoned the idea of pummeling the spinda into the dirt to try to seek a little space to THINK. As he did so, he kicked up some sand between them. Time marched on like a ticking time bomb. Sharp terracotta eyes stared contemplatively at the battlefield before them. They needed to deal with the threat swiftly, knocking it out of the skies into a useless state so that Ares wouldn’t be able to signal help. Nostrils flared as the elderly gent’s brain spun with secretive thoughts. While there were other useful means to deal with an unruly Pokemon that Caribes had used in the past, they often relied on them succumbing to such a weakness that they couldn’t fight back in protest. Teddy had to prove himself, if he wanted to get on Caribes’ good graces.
Teddy stumbled about on his feet, a sly smirk crawling across his lips. The scar where Ares’ wings cut into Teddy’s flesh still burned. Small droplets if wet crimson bubbled up to the surface, threatening to break free from underneath his flesh. Those same swirly eyes that seemingly always seemed to have a ditzy, almost dumb look about them, narrowed in anger. He puffed himself up, causing the dense, short fur to stand on ends. “Having trouble understanding this place?” Spinda asked with a cautious glance in Ares’ direction, his eyes never once leaving the other Pokemon.
“So far so good, Teddy. Don’t let your guard down, though.” Caribes breathed slowly in with their nose and exhaled slowly with their mouth. It helped to still their beating heart that raced inside of their chest. Caribes needed to still their nerves, that scratched like thousands of sharp nails underneath their skin. They weren’t worried. They weren’t scared. It was an instinctual moment, where their body seemingly reacted and created a trail of goosebumps running across their arms. “Now Psybeam!” Caribes commanded firmly, a sharp nod of their head.
The two ensnared in their trap wouldn’t be going anywhere anytime soon. Thankfully, that wasn’t the biggest concern that Caribes had with their grand scheme. Though, the smoke bomb they’d released wouldn’t last forever. Even now, the hands of mother nature’s gentle winds pulled slowly at the dense mass, sending long strands of the black cloud to stretch out around its sides in long ribbons. Teddy knew that whatever happened in the next few moments, he had to do everything in his power to stay on Caribes’ good side. Perhaps there was still time to convince Caribes they wanted fried fowl?
“I’m just trying to survive.” Teddy stated firmly with a quick glance through the black fumes still clinging in the air to where his trainer was surely laying low. The eyes of his superior and the one that held the keys to the proverbial chains bound around his neck and hands never wavered. They would take every movement, every breath, and every sound in careful consideration. “You’re just caught in the crosshairs, that’s all.” Teddy felt indifferent in the moment despite the somewhat apology he uttered to Ares. They were just pawns amid this mess. Nothing more, nothing less.
Teddy’s eyes began to spin in a wild pattern within their sockets. The long, black strands that spiraled around in several loops glowed and changed to a warm reddish hue as he glared. He had to focus all of his energy on this one moment. Even as Ares’ sands dug into Teddy’s flesh, causing him to wince from the pain, he endured. Teddy released several rings of multihued energy from his eyes. They spiraled through the air, dancing back and forth in an almost mesmerizing pattern, in their quick attempt to slam full force into Ares’s side. Caribes stared quietly with bated breath as their Pokemon dutifully fulfilled their command.

The smokescreen was indeed starting to clear. And unfortunately for Teddy, this staravia was no pushover. Even with the world all topsy-turvy, it was putting up one helluva fight. This well-trained bodyguard bird was clearly used to tackling foes potentially stronger than it head on—and so far he was living up to his name Ares. He kept pushing forward like a feathery god of war, wings churning to disrupt the smoke around them. <Caught in the crosshairs, am I? You were foolish to think myself to be an easy mark. I will not fail in my mission to deliver that missive. There is nothing your trainer can do about it.> As those eyes went swirly with psychic energy, Ares jolted forward to slam into the spinda, knocking his attack off course. The beam slashed through the smoke and nearly hit a certain rich boy that was cowering off to one side. He let out a whimper of alarm. What was going on?! He coughed some more. Ares eyed the spinda, <You are hardly worth my effort. <How is it my fault or concern if your trainer eats you?> The staravia argued, puffing up...in the wrong direction. Clearly, he was indeed befuddled, but had thus far been doing a good job of shaking off the disorienting effects. But luck never lasted. He spread his wings, clearly ready to either throw more sand or smack them into the spinda's fat face to end this battle...but that psybeam knocked him off course. He staggered and instead of hitting the spinda with force and ferocity...he slammed both wings into a tree trunk. A bolt of pain shivered up the warlike bird's spine and he fluttered backwards, body aching. He whirled, searching for his actual target. If only the world would stop swaying! <Now release me from this spell so I can go perform my duty you pesky creature!> The target was slowly creeping away. A strong gust of wind snapped a nearby branch. The collision ricocheted through the densely wooded area as the long branch bounced through the canopy and collided with the grassy ground below. Teddy’s spiraled irises twitched, looking in their own and odd fashion in different directions as he searched quietly around him. Ares showed no sympathy and perhaps it was arguable whether the Pokemon who currently stood as a symbol for truth and justice even fit his own motto. “Birds are often battered and deep fried, you know.” Teddy hummed softly with a wide smile. “If he doesn’t stop with me, he may push his luck to you.”
Ares struggled. It was a wondrous sight to which Teddy took it all in, soaking the imagery up greedily as he witnessed the large lapwing zipped about in hot pursuit of some apparition unknown to the waking world. It ended in a loud crash. The small red panda’s mesmerizing dance left its mark and though the mental poisons from the teetering sashaying was a slow burn, they eventually consumed their target. “You might want to watch where you’re going?” Teddy offered, tilting his head slightly with a gesture towards the gigantic foliage before them. “That looked like it hurt.” He mused softly.
Caribes glowered quietly from the sidelines and watched the battle unfolding before them. They’d managed to quickly tie up the opposing forces who stood as obstacles in the old gent’s way, but left themselves open. Turning to the large stag beetle with two powerful horns atop his head, Caribes nodded quietly to him. “Go make sure our friend doesn’t get away.” They barked in a low yet gruff tone to Scissorhands, who spun nimbly around on his feet despite his awkward build. He’d trudge over to the slowly skittering off child and immediately use those same large pincers of his to bind the child or at least scare him enough to keep him at bay.
“Don’t go running off so fast, Mr. Handsome. I need you to give my trainer beauty tips! I swear they couldn’t dress themselves for a date to Chinchou Cheese!” He giggled. He would be careful not to hurt the child, severely limiting his own strengths in order to do his best to keep the hostage at bay. While Teddy might be on the menu pending the results of the battle, Scissorhands wanted to remain as far away from the ingredients list as possible. The smoke was shifting around in the open air, stretching farther from where it was first placed up, as though to visibly show the passage of time. They had to work quickly, though the main snag in the plan remained the same bear from the beginning. Tedy just had to best the bird in their fight, and they would be golden!
Teddy created more dancing lights from his eyes and fired them at Ares, hoping to score another direct hit. Time was ticking on the previous moves that aided him in the fray. Soon, Ares’ mentality would stabilize once more, thus putting Teddy at an even larger disadvantage. If that wasn’t enough of a problem to contend with, he had to worry about the time lapse since the room was first set up. Already, the walls seemed thinner than before, as though they were slowly fading away. “I can’t release you until you calm down and realize.” Teddy hummed softly. “There’s nothing you need to report here. Understand?” He insisted.

<It is no concern of mine what your trainer will do to YOU!> The warlike staravia uttered with a snap of his wings. <Now get out of my way and release me!> He suddenly short forth, moving quickly, overcoming the change in the speed swap with a powerful quick attack. However, instead of slamming into the spinda and ending this battle, he overshot and slammed headfirst into another tree. OUCH! He flopped back in a daze. <I will...defeat you...> He slowly pulled himself up...only to be blasted with a psybeam again. That was enough. The final one two punch required to put an end to this battle. Ares fell, knocked out cold. Perhaps that meant Teddy would escape the soup. But who knew? That battle was out of his favor, but confusion carried hard. Whether Caribes would deem Teddy worth while after nearly losing, however...was anyone's guess. The focus of the battle, however...would shift to the child that was now trying to escape in earnest. The smoke had cleared. His bodyguards were trapped. The messenger bird was taken out. He was now alone and being menaced by some weird, giant bug! "L-leave me alone! You will regret this, no cap!" A sharp trill carried their harsh words once more into Teddy’s elongated, rabbit-like ears as Ares doubled down on his stance. He remained steadfast in his determination. Unbothered by the possibility of the small red-and-cream colored bear’s life while it hung delicately on a thread, Ares screeched loudly through his sharp, needle-like beak insistent that Teddy remove himself as an obstacle and free the angry bird from his confinement. Still, the confusion managed to work its magic, causing Ares to come crashing head long into the nearest tree, where he flopped helplessly on the ground.
“Huh…oh weird.” The small red panda teetered on the tips of his stubby feet, wobbling as though he’d drunken himself into a stupor and was trying to sashay his way out of a bar and to his humble abode. Ares remained indifferent to Teddy’s plight only seconds ago, and now spent himself into a tangled heap of exhaustion trapped to the mercy of both the small panda and his trainer. “It is no concern of mine whether you’re battered and deep fried, is it? I do hope they pick all your feathers off and prep you right first. I can’t imagine you’d taste all that good otherwise.” A light snicker as Teddy shook his head, turning on the tips of his feet towards the rich kid who worked quickly in earnest to try and escape.
Scissorhands blinked and knelt by the posh and proper child whose hands wouldn’t know an honest day’s hard insisted on Scissorhands simply removing him from the moment entirely. “Wait, Mr. Pretty Boy, please!” The large stag beetle stated resolutely with a quick huff. This was not going to be an easy maneuver. Scissorhand’s wide eyes with small irises shifted in their sockets, searching around in hopes that his trainer wouldn’t doddle for much longer. Where was the mastermind that orchestrated everything, anyways? Where was the man squeeze to which all of the partner Pokémon owed their very existence in part only because they hadn’t pushed Caribes’ buttons enough yet to be slopped inside of some stew? “You can’t go anywhere until you tell me your beauty secrets!”
Teddy waddled over quickly followed by the elderly geezer, who huffed angrily through a narrowed gaze that sized the teenager up quickly. This was getting rather ridiculous and wasting Caribes’ time, causing them to want to just seize the older child up in their wrinkled hands and ring his neck until the teenager would surely collapse from a lack of oxygen to the brain. It would serve him right for making this rather easy and straightforward mission anything but easy and straightforward. He should have just allowed a rare bear around the area to lure him away in the first moments of meeting Teddy, but instead had to insist on them being ‘delulu’ as though they were worthless entirely. What an ignorant, insolent brat! “Finally, we meet.” Caribes laughed coldly.
They snapped their fingers and pointed, causing the large stag beetle to release his grip on the young teenager at once. As Scissorhands stepped to the side, hanging his head a bit with eyes that stared worriedly at his trainer, Caribes only nodded with a gruff shrug of indifference. “You’re going to hand over Claudine without a fight, or I’m going to hang you out to dry. Do you understand me, young sir? I am quite tired of the charades, and you’ll find your bodyguards currently incapacitated and unable to help you. Do you really want to continue to try my completely non-existent patience?” Caribes crossed their hands over their chest with a raise of an eyebrow as they questioned Jake rhetorically.
