Abhorrence Abhorrence scuttled along on her six tiny legs, her long body inching as she slowly moved down the dirt road. Her head was hung low and the frills on the top of her head drooped down revealing her downtrodden emotions. Abhorrence felt underappreciated and there was a turmoil deep in her stomach. At first, when she had found her new trainer, Kit Willow, she had been beyond excited. All she had wanted from her new trainer was to hug and snuggle and feel the warm embrace of another soul. But Abhorrence had quickly found that her trainer had...hated her. Why, Abhorrence did not understand. She was nothing if not a loving creature. Sure, she was not the most adorable, like a Skitty, or the softest of pokemons like a Wooloo. But Abhorrence had a big heart and she wanted to give her all to her new trainer.
There was something wrong with Abhorrence though. When she looked into a pool of water and saw her reflection she saw only herself, who she was supposed to be, who she had been born to be. But Kit saw a monster looking back at her. Kit wouldn't hug her, wouldn't nuzzle her, would barely stand within five feet of her. At their last stop, Kit had even bought at least a dozen bottles of Bug Spray and had dowsed herself in the wretched stench of it. Abhorrence constantly coughed and sneezed from the Bug Spray, it irritated her throat and nose to the point where she could barely breath. Still, she followed her trainer, though at a distance. Abhorrence was a loyal Scatterbug, she would do anything for her trainer. But Kit never gave Abhorrence a chance. Instead Kit called upon her other partners to battle. She relied on them and not Abhorrence. Never Abhorrence.
When Abhorrence had learned what her name really meant, she had died a little inside. Honestly, she didn't blame her trainer, she did not blame Kit one bit. Abhorrence could understand that people and pokemon had likes, dislikes and even fears. But why had Kit had to put such a horrid label on her? Tears pricked at the back of Abhorrence's eyes as she remembered when Feara had told her the truth. Abhorrence's trainer was scared of her, she literally feared the bug type. Abhorrence did not know how to fix the situation she was in. There was no clear path. Would there ever be hope to befriending her trainer and showing Kit that Abhorrence was more than her outside body.
Almost three days ago now, Abhorrence had gotten separated from her trainer. It had been storming so hard, the rain had pelted down on their small group. They had all started to run, because the rain had actually hurt with the strength of the wind blowing. Abhorrence had tried to keep up, tried with all her might, but her legs were too small, her gate to awkward to keep up. Kit had been concerned with keeping Feara's tail lit. Charmanders could perish if their fire was ever truly put out. And so in the dark, stormy night, the group had been separated. Abhorrence had been looking for them, trying to remember where they had been going that day. That's why she was so sad, being separated from her trainer was not good for Abhorrence's heart. And it would seem as though she was now lost more than ever!
Upbeat music suddenly sounded off to Abhorrence's right, the beat was playful and happy. Abhorrence realized that at some point, she had journeyed into what looked like some kind of carnival, or fairground. She hesitated just outside the gate entrance, not quite sure what to make of this new event. Should she crawl on? Should she enter? She could maybe ask another pokemon if they knew the way back to her trainer.

Sorry if I made you cry. If you would like to join this thread please message me. There may or may not be room! Ideas for this thread include, a rude ring leader not appreciating Primarina or a roadie making Primarina feel as though she is not enough in the shows. A strong character defining moment for Abhorrence would be her choose a new name for herself. As we talked about a little in the Cbox.

"Are we ready to ROCK?" The lights were set, the camera was in place. Panzy hurried to make last-minute adjustments, popping Primarina's collar and adjusting the hem of her dress. She had worked hard to get a place in this show - attending fan meets, networking, and finally asking Primarina directly. This might well be her first big break, and she was determined to make it go well! Primarina was decked out in a midnight-blue dress that shone with glitter like the stars, and the beads in her hair were painted to look like a rainbow of Minior as well. "Celestial Harmony" was the theme, and her trio of backup dancers were costumed in a similar color scheme, but with less sparkly adornments, all the better to make Primarina shine. As Panzy finished with her final adjustments, she took a step back and watched as the singers found their places. Primarina was positioned at the biggest microphone, and two Popplio were lined up behind her. Wait, two? She heard a loud gasp as a straggling Popplio flung herself onto the stage, scrambling to get into the line. But in her haste, she didn't notice the wire strung across the floor, tripped over her own flippers, and went flying - dragging the line along with her, and sending the mic toppling onto the ground with a tremendous CRASH. "Oh, dear!" Primarina gasped. An enraged Raichu would storm onto the stage, sparing a few cursory words of comfort for Primarina, before turning on the hapless Popplio. "What the Helix was that?" she demanded. "Raichu, it was an accident..." Primarina said, trying to defuse the situation. "On behalf of my apprentice, I'm so sorry--" "Your apprentice? She's more like a clown." Raichu put her hands on her hips and glared down her nose at Popplio. "You're always out of sync on the spins, you can't hit the high notes on key, and now you go and do something like this?" The trainee singer tried to stammer out an apology, but the enraged roadie refused to hear it. "Get out and go think about what you've done!" The Raichu pointed a paw at the entrance to the tent, and electricity sparked at her cheeks. Popplio, dejected, slunk out into the rain. Panzy hurried to follow her. She could see Popplio breathing hard, as tears welled in her eyes. "It'll be all right..." the skunk said, trying to comfort the sad seal. "These things happen. Is it your first big show? Why, I remember the first time I tried to use a sewing machine, I almost tangled myself in--" She stopped short as she saw there was someone already waiting at the gate. As she squinted, it looked to be a bug Pokemon of some sort. "What are you doing standing out in the rain?" she asked, trotting over and wishing she had an umbrella at that moment. "Did you come to watch the show? We're still setting up rehearsal, we won't be ready to go live until tomorrow. Or are you lost...?" Vaygen the tears start coming and they don't stop coming T_T I changed your idea a little bit to have the rude roadie (Raichu) be mean to Popplio, not Primarina, since it is the Popplio who our trainers will eventually be able to recruit on their journey. I also made her a female but it can be changed if you want! words=508 (Accumulated total: 1151)

Abhorrence O, now it was raining, Abhorrence glanced up at the cloud filled sky. Big, fat drops were falling slowly to the ground. The Scatterbug was drenched almost instantly, the dust that naturally grew from her body sloughed off, mixing with the dirt packed ground. She felt naked now, it was just her worm-like body out for all the world to see. She could see why her trainer found her disgusting. Her skin was slimy looking with the gleam from the rain. And her tiny legs, with their little spikes on the end looked more grotesque, more insect like. Abhorrence felt her eyes heat, tears prickled the back of her beady balls, threatening to fall and mix with the rain, the dirt and the dust.
She was so caught up in her own though, dark, dark thoughts that Abhorrence did not notice the two pokemon who had wandered up to the gate. One of the two ran up to the edge of the gate. The Stunky was shockingly dashing. Not only did they have beautiful, lush purple fur but they also wore an interesting outfit that did more for their appearance than take away. Abhorrence wanted to feel jealous, for being so under dressed in the presence of such an ethereal creature but there was not a bad bone in her body. Well she didn’t really have bones but that was besides the point. The Stunky spoke and even her voice was lyrical, tones of care and charm floating from her throat. At first Abhorrence did not know how to respond, she was not used to someone talking to her so kindly. Just yells of disgust.
“III…” Abhorrence stumbled over her words, finding her throat dry even in this weather. Clearing her throat she continued. “I am not here for a show. My name is Abhorrence and I have lost my trainer, we got caught in very bad weather.” Weather very similar to what this rain was quickly turning into. “And now I’m lost, so very very lost.” She replied miserably. For the first time, Abhorrence laid eyes on the pokemon just behind the friendly Stunky. The deep blue Popplio, with their light blue frill and big red nose was sniffling behind the Stunky. Even in the rain, it was clear to Abhorrence that she was crying. Something had upset the seal and Abhorrence’s heart leapt out to her. “Hey, don’t cry now.” She called out lightly. “Only one of us can cry tonight, and I was already thinking about it.” Would this meeting turn into a pity party? Did the Stunkhorn have any deep seated issues they wanted to air too?
Abhorrence shook her head, she would not let anymore tears fall this day! "Let's make a deal! No more tears, no more letting others make us feel small!" As Abhorrence spoke the words she felt them deep on her belly. No, she would not wallow about her problems any longer. There was a solution to what Kit and her were going through and Abhorrence intended to fix it as soon as they found their way back together. "I've given you my name, what are your names?" Abhorrence figured that distracting the Popplio from her dark thoughts was the best course of action. She just wished that there was not a locked gate between them so that she could maybe offer a warm hug, she loved hugs.

I really like your twists and ideas! This is why Escapades are great! Because you get to work together! I wanted to bring out the mean Raichu but didn't want to get too far ahead before you could reply! I look forward to your reply!

"Ab...horrence?" Panzy frowned. What a name for a Pokemon! Though she had only been journeying with her own trainer for a short time, she knew that Trixie put great care into all of (well, most of) her Pokemon's nicknames. That combined with the Scatterbug telling her she had "lost" her trainer made this trainer sound like a very bad person indeed. She started to wonder if Abhorrence was really "lost" or if her trainer had simply left her behind. Looking at the pitiful bug dripping with wetted dust, she resolved to get her out of the rain, at the very least. Get her someplace warm and dry and if her trainer really was looking for her, it would be a lot easier to find each other when the rain stopped. "My name is Panzy," the Stunkhorn volunteered. "And my friend here is Pippi." The Popplio sniffed. "But I get called 'useless' and 'clown' a lot more these days." "C'mon now," Panzy clicked her teeth as if to give Pippi a mild scolding. "Abhorrence... the little bug said, no putting ourselves down right now, okay?" She turned back to the Scatterbug and smiled. "Pippi's troupe of singing seals is going to headline in the show tomorrow. I work behind the scenes as the costume designer. But oh, I'm getting ahead of myself. I shouldn't tease you like that without letting you in." She tried pushing at the gate, only to realize it was locked, and it wouldn't budge in the slightest. "Raichu has the key," Pippi said. "And she's... not in a good mood right now." "So you think she wouldn't even help a lost and suffering Pokemon? Hm." Panzy paced back and forth in front of the gate several times, lost in thought. Then she thumped the ground with her tail as she made a breakthrough. "I've got it! Everyone, please stand back. This could get messy." Pippi looked at Panzy, worried as she wondered what the Stunkhorn was going to do. But she listened all the same. A glob of purple acid sprayed out of Panzy's mouth and onto the lock, corroding it as the chemical hissed in the rain. Panzy then stomped her feet menacingly, sending a shockwave through the earth before she charged at the gate, bulldozing her way through it and smashing the lock apart. It swung open with a creak. "Whew! I'm glad that worked. It would have been so embarrassing if I just hit my head for no reason." And with that, Panzy gestured for Abhorrence to follow her back to the tent, Pippi fretting about what would happen if they got in trouble for breaking the lock ("Just say a wild Arbok attacked, it'll be fine," Panzy insisted). "Where have you been?" Raichu said, hands on her hips as she glared at them from the tent entrance. She cast a scornful glance downward at the straggling Scatterbug before turning on Pippi with fury. "Look at you! Our talented designer spent all that time on your costume, and you've gone and got it all dirty!" It was true; when Pippi looked down, she could see faint stains of mud at the hem of her dress, no doubt from not having noticed it was dragging through puddles on their way back inside. "What do you have to say for yourself?" Raichu demanded. But Pippi, sniffling, felt the words caught in her throat. Vaygen words=568 (accumulated total: 2285)

Abhorrence The Scatterbug felt her antenai shift at the crown of her head as the two other Pokemon introduced themselves, Panzy and Pippi. Her little hind end started wagging from excitement, these two were so nice! It felt like this was the first time in her life that Abhorrence was making friends! The sadness from earlier seemed to melt from the bug type, washing away in the rain. The Scatterbug felt her eyes widen at Panzy’s next words. Pippi was a singing seal and Panzy was a costume designer? Abhorrence had not even known that Pokemon could have hobbies or jobs like that. Images flashed through her head, of a wide open stage with bright lights and hundreds of people and Pokemon watching on. Abhorrence could not imagine performing in front of one person nevermind so many. Instantly, she respected Pippi’s inner strength. Pippi must have been really brace to be willing to stand under the lights. And Panzy, who would have thought that a Skuntank could sew? They must have had really nimble paws. Panzy had to be very talented too, to get hired on by a big company like this one. Then again, Pippi was wearing a beautiful dress, though there was now rain and mud sticking to the fine material.
Abhorrence did not know what to say as Panzy started to pace up and down the length of the gate, so she staid silent. But when they gave a warning to step back, she inched her body away from the metal fence. Panzy shot out a viscous, purple liquid from their mouth, splattering the metal gate. The great iron bars hissed and sizzled as the acid corroded it, eating away at the strong, man-made enclosure. The ground shook next, making Abhorrence stumble over her many limbs. The ground bubbled up mud and rain water, making the earth unsteady. But that was not enough, Panzy also surged forward, ramming to the bars with her head. All Abhorrence could do was stare at the scene before her in open mouthed shock. With a screech, the big gate gave way, the lock having been torn apart by force. O wow…Panzy was incredibly strong!
“You…I…” Abhorrence stumbled over her tongue, her brain still not having caught up with what had just happened. Panzy then invited Abhorrence into the tent and out of the rain. The Skuntank was not only strong but a natural leader too, they had taken charge and gotten things done! Abhorrence followed behind Panzy and Pippi, curious eyes wandering everywhere. The tent was big, large enough to fit at least a few Mommoswine within. Just as the group was about to enter the tent they were stopped. A frazzled looking Raichu blocked their path. The Raichu became aggressive, biting at poor Pippi. No wonder why she had been crying outside.
Abhorrence could not contain her words anymore. Gathering up her small body under her so that she stood as tall as her tiny limbs could reach she spoke. “What do you have to say for yourself! HMMM?” The strength in which Abhorrence’s voice boomed surprised her. She had never sounded so firm in her life. “Standing there, doing nothing!” Abhorrence hissed at the Raichu, matching their snappish tone. “Panzy and Pippi were just picking me up, I am after all Panzy’s assistant. And why are you yelling at Pippi for a dress that is clearly not the finished product! Don’t you know that costumes go through dozens if not hundred of improvements before a big show!” Abhorrence was talking through her butt at this point. She knew nothing about costumes and the big stage. But what the Raichu did not know, wouldn’t hurt them. “You are the one causing delays! Now move out of our way before I report you to the big boss!” Abhorrence did not know who the big boss was, but she was on a roll now.
Abhorrence pushed forward, forcing the Raichu out of the way. She really hoped that Panzy and Pippi would not break her cover and would follow. She would have to apologize to them both once they were out of ear shot of the Raichu. A few feet inside Abhorrence paused, waiting for the other two because well, she really did not know her way around this tent.

What with how the little bug had been sniffling, the last thing Panzy expected was for her to suddenly unleash a torrent of words on Raichu. But unleash she did! "Ah! Yes!" Panzy stammered, the Stunkhorn struggling to speak as she was taken aback. While she didn't know what Abhorrence had in mind... going along with the ruse seemed for the best for the time being. "This is my assistant... Abigail Hortensia, but we all call her Abhorrence for short! She will be helping me refine the design." She sauntered off with a sidelong glance to Raichu, "She would have been here sooner, but someone locked her outside the gate without telling me. Come along, dear, let's get you cleaned up."She strode forward so she could walk alongside Abhorrence, using her whiskers and ears to nudge her in the direction of the changing room. Pippi was trailing behind when she suddenly stopped short, owing to the appearance of a majestic Primarina. "And who do we have here?" she trilled. The two other apprentices were behind her. One of them pointed at Pippi's mud-stained dress and whispered to the other, causing them both to snicker before Primarina's watchful eye fell upon them. "Poppo, Peppe. Why don't you fetch some blankets and hot tea for our guests?"Primarina slid forward with a worried look on her face, no doubt owing to the disheveled condition of the two Pokemon accompanying Panzy. "Is everyone all right?" Raichu's ears and tail drooped as Panzy brought Abhorrence forward to explain the "misunderstanding" with her "assistant;" it was clear that the electric mouse was feeling shamed in front of the "big boss". "But of course," she said, when Panzy stated that the design was going through a revision. "That's what rehearsal is for, after all; sometimes what we originally envisioned just doesn't look quite right on stage. I won't take up any more of your time. Come back and show me the finished product soon!" She gave Abhorrence, in particular, a gentle smile, before bustling away to discuss show logistics ( "such boring grown-up stuff, truly") with Raichu. Bolts of cloth, patterns, and a sewing machine were already covering the floor when they arrived. Panzy had Pippi change out of her costume, then looked it over, muttering to herself and taking measurements as she went. "Ah... I think I see where the problem lies," she said. "You do?" Pippi said nervously. "You were having trouble with your big spin, right?" Panzy sighed. "It would seem I am partly to blame. The skirt was dragging on the ground and hampering your movement, wasn't it? But! If I gather the hem here, use a different stitch there... That will shorten it by an inch, which should make it flow much more freely..." She ran off, returning with a measuring tape in her teeth, and started wrapping it around the seal again. "Yes, if we puff up the ruffles in the shoulders... Perhaps a bit more glitter... This is going to be fantastic!"The Stunkhorn's armor-plated costume seemed to hinder her not one bit as she leapt into action, measuring and snipping away at the cloth. She was starting to run it through the machine when she remembered; tea, blankets, guests. "I guess in my hurry I forgot to ask," she said, a bit embarrassed. "Do you know how to sew? Or anything else about putting on a performance?"words=569 (total: 3571) Vaygen Feel free to control the npcs as well! Maybe Abhorrence can try to help with the sewing, or coach Pippi through her stage fright?
