My parents had a lot of difficulty with babies. I was the first one to be born alive. My mom had some problems, and they though they would lose me too. In the end, i was born to early, VERY small, but everything worked, didn't need extra help (other then some meds to help grow a skull, witch I didn't have :3) I read that over again and thought again how "Nadia" does mean "hope" in some languages. I recall when I was five years old, while spending a couple of weeks over at my grandparents' farm during the summer, I was in the barn admiring the horses and playing in the hay. I had the misfortune of running into a Diamondback Rattlesnake and it bit me clean on the ankle. My grandpap who was nearby came over and drove the thing off before doing it in with a shovel. When I was taken to a nearby doctor's clinic and later submitted to a hospital, what should've been a simple enough procedure took a bad turn. When somebody gets bit by a Rattlesnake, a dosage of anti-venom is injected to as an antidote. However, when it was used on me, my body rejected it and, if anything, just made it even worse. I was further later moved to a Children's Hospital in... Denver or Wichita? Honestly, I cannot remember. Things got fun from there. I was just having a really bad reaction to both the bite venom and the anti-venom. They tried I don't know how many procedures on me to try to get me stabilized and it was a very, VERY LONG battle for my life. I'm talking two to three months in the hospital. It was a very scary time for me, yet it was a blur. Probably because so many of the days were the same where I couldn't move and was just in insufferable pain. Diamondback venom targets the nervous system, so moving was next to impossible for me at the time. Eventually, I started to overcome everything on my own and made a full recovery with what could've been worse side effects. When I eventually got to go home, it was in a wheelchair and had about one more month tagged on for evaluation in case I acted up again, but more for the physical therapy since I had to learn how to walk again and lost some muscle mass for being bedridden for so long. When I got to finally go to school, it was in December right after Thanksgiving break. For the following year, I was on anti-biotics and would see the doctor often to make sure my nervous system and immune system were still holding out. These days, I wish I could say that the snake bite was now nothing more than a bad memory. But I still have a scar on my ankle from where I was bit and where they did some surgery to remove infected skin. On top of that, the place where I was bitten often flairs up and it feels like a sharp burning sensation every now and again, nerve ends permanently damaged from the venom. But after so many years where it is an everyday thing, you almost get used to it... So, interesting tale, huh? Guess my name is fitting.

Oh my gosh, that must've been such a scary time! Thank goodness you're fine now ^^
Anywho, I can say that I have the most boring life here xD Online I go by either Hyaru, or Quila (thats for dA and youtube), but my real name is Amanda~ I'm gonna be 18 on August 18th, and I'm the oldest of 3 siblings. I have my sister Linnea, my brother Marty and my step sister Hanna, all younger than me but will be/are taller than me (I'm only 5"1' > w < ) Things I like to do are draw (a lot), read/collect manga, rp, sing (though I suck) and watch walkthroughs on Horror games (I've almost run out of things to watch; I need to find more Horrors ; __ ; ) Things I don't like are veggies and summer >=c Oh, and I'm a Canadian~ . w .

Don't worry Hyaru, I hit 5'0" (barely) and stopped growing. We can be super short together, yes?

YAY LET'S JUMP ON THE BANDWAGON! Mmk, as most of you know, I'm Dani ~ I'm 17 and a half, due to be 18 come September baby. I'm 5'4 with light blonde hair and blue eyes (omg stereotype), but I think of myself as more of an impatient pixie with freckles. Doodles. I doodle on almost everything. The nickname Latani came from a fusion of my favourite Pokemon and, well, if you don't know what else i hope you die then you fail at life =) I once watched Transformers every Tuesday, Thursday, and Sunday evening for 4 months. Straight. I almost drowned as a kid and had an insane fear of the deep end of pools until I got swimming lessons. And I also had a strange phobia about rollercoasters that went upside down; I was always frightened I would fall out when they did. </3 I'm a weather/storm nut, and I'm usually the only person in my family who will stand in the rain just to watch the pretty thunderstorms ~ My daniPod is full of mostly Pokemon music. I've got two tattoos - a Chinese kanji symbol meaning 'dream' on my outer left wrist and a dragonfly with a crescent moon on the inside of my right leg by my ankle. It's my dream to go skydiving. 8DD When I was on a school trip to Ottawa, Ontario, my pinky toe was broken by someone slamming a heavy door on it. I taught myself how to place my hand flat on a desk and do a 360 with it (I spin my hand all the way around, it's really gross awesome. Whenever I eat minty gum I sneeze. The color pink is my most loathed enemy. I'm proudly Canadian. Okay I'm done boring y'all.

The color pink? D: Nooo! I love the color pink. Well, only hot hot pink. >_> The other shades are a bit repulsive.

Maybe you were lucky to have been bitting in your ankle... Your hand, head or a higher part of you body would give more problems... I think. I've met more persons with the name Nadja/Nadia and most of use have some story like that(thank god not as dangereus as yours). If not more then 1. I guess we kinda have a rich live... I don't see it as 'bad things'... It feels wrong, given the 'Hope'. Just keep hoping things will get better. They usally do ^^
