Scaling the Tower! [Complete]

[Morrigan]

The Monk, unphased, continued to watch as the battle begun to unfold. The little feline pokemon was now jumping onto the Bellsprout, biting it viciously. Soon enough though, the Monk commanded his next attack, "Bellsprout! Shake off that Meowth!". The Bellsprout reacted to it's trainers voice, beginning to wriggle around furiously to shake off the cat. Its attempts soon prevailed as the Meowth landed on it's back, "Now! Use Vine whip!" Bellsprout nodded and soon began lashing its vines across Meowth.

Joey let out a small amount of disdain at just how hurt Meowth was becoming. The problem lied with the Bellsprout's move Vine Whip. It wasn't too powerful but had a high chance of landing critical and often decisive blows. He reached for his trainer bag and grabbed a potion. "I wouldn't forgive myself if poor Meowth got hurt." He ran to his Pokemon, much to Meowth's surprise and sprayed him with the healing Potion. "There! You're good to go! Bite him hard again!" Joey ran back to his designated area and watched as the ensuing battle unfolded.

[Morrigan]

Meowth was slowly getting back up onto it's paws when Joe rushed in with a potion to heal him. Thanks to that very item, Meowth was now feeling as good as new. It glared it's fangs towards Bellsprout and the Monk, growling softly.

The Monk looked to his Bellsprout, "Get ready another Vine Whip!" he muttered. The weedy pokemon began to sway from side to side, waiting until Meowth had made it's attack so that he could smack it straight back.

Joey, becoming flustered by the monk's calmness, let out an outburst. "What the hell is up with you monks? Your cohorts were picking on some Cyndaquil. Couldn't you have just shooed him out? Either way. I don't care no more. I'm now the trainer of it and i'm going to the top of this tower. You can't stop us." Meowth's fur stood up on the back of it's neck and it's tail became incredibly thick after Joey's short impassioned speech. Joey quickly ordered another attack. "Bite again! We're gonna break our way through these chumps." Meowth hissed again and leapt into the air with it's mouth open ready to take another ferocious bite.

[Morrigan]

As Joe spoke to the Monk, his calm expression seemed to slightly change. He raised an eyebrow and seemed to sigh, "Tsk... I should've known that pesky Cyndaquil was involved." he muttered to himself, though Joe was probably able to hear what he had said.

Regaining his calm composure, the Monk spoke once more, "Bellsprout! Hurry up and finish this feline off!" The Bellsprout seemed to hold back for a moment, really concentrating on its attack more than usual. It was just about to release a powerful vinewhip when it completely missed as Meowth jumped into the air with perfect timing.

Joey laughed riotously as the Bellsprout's attack was way off and Meowth dodged the strike elegantly into the air. As Meowth landed back down on both his paws he turned his head to listen for his next command. Joey looked to the monk and shook his head. "Not gonna get anywhere with these fools... Sometimes violence is the only answer!" As he finished thinking to himself he commanded Meowth's next move. "I know there's probably not much left of the sprout after you've bit him so many times but use Bite! Bite off more than you can chew and then bite it down into sizeable chunks!" Meowth nodded and launched itself again for the umpteenth time before sinking it's fangs into the disgruntled Bellsprout.

[Morrigan]

The Monk watched, horrified as his Pokemon's attack completely missed. He growled deeply to himself, tightly clutching onto the protective rosary in his hand. He seemed to start muttering to himself, almost a prayer, before putting his attention back into the pokemon battle in front of him. "Continue your assualt! And make sure that you dont miss!" he snarled at the swaying weed.

Once more, the Meowth landed a tough bite on the Bellsprout and it used vine whip in return. Only, the little Bellsprout was starting to feel injured.

Joey watched as the monk started to become almost incandescent with rage. "Woah... I thought monks were meant to be peaceful folk. Guess these guys are just uptight about this Cyndaquil. Guess that little fireball has been bugging these guys for quite a long time" He smirked to himself quietly but just loud enough for the monk to over hear. "Okay Meowth, you're doing excellent. I think i'll give you a treat after this is all done and dusted. Prepare another Bite! And make it snappy!" Joey laughed to himself over how bad the pun was and watched as Meowth had already scuttled away and began sinking it's teeth deeply into the Bellsprout.

[Morrigan]

[[Gawd damn. You are having a small reply cause I can't be arsed... I'm really unsure how to reply to vinewhip/bite anymore. :3]]

The Monk seemed to laugh to himself at the repeatition of the moves going on in the battle. He regained his calm composure, gently folding his arms together, "Just continue your assault, Bellsprout!"

Once again, the two Pokemon found themselves lunging towards eachother. However, due to the miss Bellsprout had made earlier, it put him out of his rhythm. The Bellsprout, though successfully landed a hit himself, got hit by a critical in return.

It stuttered backwards slowly, its head flopping forward. It looked as if it would fall to the ground at any second.

Joey watched on in awe as Meowth landed a deadly critical. The battle was finally nearing the decisive moment. Meowth seemed perfectly healthy enough to carry on and Joey thought over his next move. "Hm... Let's see... OH! Scratch! No... Thief? Nah... Bite. Yeah, you guessed it. Meowth, use the Bite attack and let's move on with these chumps." Meowth nodded and charged bravely at the enemy, biting the Bellsprout as quickly as it could. "Times like these I wish I could have attached a metronome to Meowth. Would have powered up his moves to a pretty high degree." He finished speaking and continued watching the match.

[LUNAR]

The Meowth charged at the Bellsprout for what seemed to be the last attack for the battle. It sank its fangs onto the plant Pokemon, knocking it out instantly. The Bellsprout laid there unconscious, swirls in its eyes. The monk returned the Bellsprout back into its Pokeball and snarled, rushing off in defeat.

Meowth grinned with victory and jumped up and down. It had won its second battle in Sprout Tower, and it had gotten stronger as well!

[The REAL Joey]

Joey jumped up in the air slightly with jubilation. "Awesome! You won that battle perfectly. Plus it seems you've gotten a lot stronger too. Come here." Joey bent over and scooped up the tenacious Meowth and cradled him in his arms tightly while using his spare hand to stroke the tip of his head. Meowth purred affectionately and Joey grinned. He placed Meowth back on it's feet and withdrew it back to it's Pokeball. After placing it back on his belt he took out two more Pokeballs and threw them to the ground.

Out popped Koffing and Elekid who looked around expectantly; almost as if they were pre-empting a battle. Joey shook his head and laughed. "Don't worry guys, I just to give you both a treat." He went through his pockets and took out two Rare Candies. "You've done so well since I rescued you so I thought you can knock yourselves out with these." The duo looked at one another and huge grins both spread over their faces. Elekid rushed over and tugged at Joe's feet while Koffing floated over slowly and span around in circles begging for the tasty snack. Joey undid the wrappers and knelt down to Elekid and handed him a Rare Candy before standing back up again and feeding Koffing the Rare Candy in his mouth. Both Pokemon chewed thoroughly and looked thoroughly pleased. "Good going! Rest up for now okay?" They both nodded as they were materialised back into their Pokeballs. "Can't hurt strengthening them just in case whatever is waiting for us up there is strong..." Joey thought to himself.

His head looked up sternly to the next flight of stairs. Whatever was up there, it would seem Cyndaquil had nearly reached it's target. Joey stretched both his arms and after doing so crackled his knuckles. He unleashed Cyndaquil who looked around excitedly. "Yup, we're almost there." Cyndaquil bounced up and down and rushed up the stairs excitedly. Joey flinched his eyes slightly and began chasing after it. "Wait for me!"

As the Cyndaquil rushed up the final flight of stairs with Joey in tow, a new figure soon came into view. He has slightly different robes compared to the other Sages, they almost gave an air of importance. However, the Elder still hadn't realised that Joe had entered the room. He had his back to the trainer, his hands clasped together, almost as if he was praying.

But the peace didn't stay for long. The Cyndaquil obviously knew this Elder, as the flames on his back grew slightly in size, his cry had deepend into a fierce growl.

Soon enough, the Elder turned his weary head and began to speak, "Ahh. I wondered when you would be back." he seemed to speak in a more calm and gentle tone. The Elder then noticed the other figure, Joey, who had moved next to the Cyndaquil to show support, "Ah-hah. And you have brought company? Well. There is only one way to settle this..."

The Elder brought out two Pokeballs and threw them ahead of him, sending out a Bellsprout and a Hoothoot!

As soon as the strange coloured Bellsprout appeared, the Cyndaquil seemed to grow even more angry. The little fire mouse was obviously just itching to battle now. It was time for Joe to send out a Pokemon to balance the battle out!

[The REAL Joey]

Joey looked at the Cyndaquil and understood the importance of this battle for him. "Don't worry Cyndaquil. You'll be the one who deals out the finishing blow to your rival." Tension filled the air and Joey looked at the opposing team in front of him. There was a different aura about this trainer and his Pokemon. They gave off an incredibly strong impression of toughness. Joey gritted his teeth partly due to nerves but also due to him thinking which partner he should help Cyndaquil with. He ran his hands over each of his Pokeballs and paused over one. This Pokemon had always been a firm favourite of his since he was a kid. He closed his eyes and nodded gently. He looked up and his eyelids opened up suddenly. He confidently through his Pokeball unleashing his Koffing. Koffing bubbled fiercely and span around upon seeing his new enemies.

Joey let out a small smirk and looked over to the monk. "So... Are you gonna explain to me what exactly the hell's going on here or am I just going to have to steam roll all over ya?" He finished speaking but before giving the monk a chance to reply he ordered his moves. "Cyndaquil, Ember on the Bellsprout! Koffing, use Smog on the Hoothoot! We need to take them both head on!" Both his Pokemon responded and almost simultaneously unleashed their moves. Cyndaquil's flames burnt brightly and shot out a fierce Ember at the Bellsprout. Koffing instead inhaled, growing largely in size before exhaling and shooting out a thick amount of Smog at the Hoothoot.

[LUNAR]

"KOFFING!" the poison Pokemon cried out, circling around the Hoothoot as it released its poison gas. "HOOOO!" the Hoothoot cried, taking a huge amount of damage. But worse yet, the attack also poisoned it! Elder Li growled at this. "Hoothoot! Use Peck on the Cyndaquil!" he commanded. Hoothoot managed to endure the poison and attacked the Cyndaquil, leaving a small amount of damage.

It was Cyndaquil's turn to attack now. It unleased an Ember attack on the Bellsprout, which was super effective! It also caused a terrible burn, making it cry out in pain. The Bellsprout, however, used a Vine Whip attack on its master's command, leaving a small amount of damage to the Koffing. Joey was doing rather well, and hopefully will continue to stay at the lead.
