Hello, Hello! Welcome to the Name Rater’s house! Sit down! Sit down!
Well, I’m sure you know what it is I do as that is what you are here for! I rate names and I rate them good. Of course, I only rate Pokémon names, rating human names gets so boring after a while.

So come, show me your Pokémon and state its name! If we agree that it is not a good name, we can change it together! Wouldn’t that be fun?

But be warned, if this Pokémon was given this name by another trainer then I require their blessing before I help you in your quest to change it! A trainer giving a Pokémon a name is a sacred bond between Pokémon and owner and I will not stand by and watch some young whipper-snapper waltzing in and changing it!

So come, sit down, have a biscuit! I will guide you on the path to name changing!

*If the OT of the pokemon is an NPC then its name cannot be changed. However, remember ICly your character can nickname a pokemon anything. It can even be noted in some 'other' notes on the pokemon. It just won't be the pokemon's official name.

[The REAL Joey]

Moving away from the hustle and the bustle of the Goldenrod's main shopping attraction, Joe couldn't help but notice a strange looking house that was painted in all sorts of bizarre patterns and colours. It was... Different to say the least. "Reminds me of some of those effed up Unova tents they had at that festival. I wonder what this is all about." Moving forward, Joe noticed a sign outside that appeared to greet visitors. "So, a name rater huh? Fair play." Pondering on whether to go in or not, he was pretty certain that it may well be worth a visit. "I got quite a few name changes actually. Considering you can't just rename them on the fly, maybe this professional sort might be able to help." Shaking his head, he sighed at the pitfalls of modernity. "Stupid bureaucratic red tape hasslin' everyone's lives... It's like we need to make a g'damned change to a birth certificate!"

Through with his pontificating, he moved inside the house to see a living room which had obviously been redesigned to accommodate for visitors. Over in one chair was a rather plucky, portly looking fellow. "So, you must be the name rater, aye? Name's Joey. Was wondering if you could pull a few strings and get some of my Pokemon's names changed." Grabbing out a particularly grubby looking list, Joe had apparently made a few notes in advance for his motley crew. The only problem was, Charmeleon was on the bottom of the list and had a big fat red circle next to his new name. "Oh, watch out for the last one... Kinda unsure on that." As he finished, one of his Pokeballs burst open and as if by coincidence, it was his Charmeleon. Folding its arms, he turned his head and grunted. "Aww c'mon. Don't you think Blaze is a good nickname?!"

Charmeleon's eyes seemed to become ablaze at the very mention of that nickname. "Fine, fine, Blaze sucks. So what then? I can't figure anything else out." Charmeleon grinned slyly and seemed to have something in mind. Turning to face his trainer, the Charmeleon tried its hardest to try and mimic human speech. "Sssaaaaarrr... Sssarrrrrr... Sssaaaaa... Laaarrr... Ssssaaalaazaarrrrr...!!" As if realising it had conveyed it correctly, the Charmeleon nodded his head energetically. "Salazar, huh? Nice. I like it, got a nice fiery ring to it. Alright! Salazar it is." Scribbling it down on his paper over the word Blaze striked out several hundred times, Joe presented the list to the name rater. "So whaddya think?"

The Name Rater’s eyes lit up as Joey gave him a list of names he wanted to change. He looked them over, and the first name he was “Salazar”. He looked over at the Charmelon and nodded. He liked it, he liked it a lot, and that was a sure thing.

“Now Sonny that seems like a fine name for your Charmeleon, Salazar, so from this day on, he shall be known as Salazar!” He took out a small computer like thing and began looking up Joey’s information. As the name rater, he had access to Pokedex related things. He changed the names of Joey’s Pokemon to the things he wanted, provided they were his, and all of it checked out as far as he knew.

“Alright, and as for the rest of them, they will also now be known as Chugga, Voltek, Slash, Pyren, Chikka, and Puka! Continue to care for them as you always have!” It was a surprisingly fast time Joey had spent speaking to the Name rater, after all, normally he took long…which was probably because he kept forgetting the people’s names…

After her long and strenuous trek through the trailing labyrinth that was Ilex Forest, Sharada wanted nothing more than to rest up her Pokemon and put her own feet up in the nearest Pokemon Center. Only her first steps into the metropolis of a city led her eyes to something other than the bright lights of the Pokemon Center. Near the edge of town stood an oddly decorated house, painted in all sorts of weird and wonderful colours. Of course, she would not dare event think about approaching such a weird building, until the sign post outside caught her attention. "Name Rater?"

Trailing off, she realised that one or two of her more closer members didn't even have a nickname and well, she liked to be unique. Besides, it was a pretty easy and quick stop off, there was no harm in the matter. Approaching the door with great strides, the brunette grabbed hold of the handle, cautiously pushing it open only to reveal a room which held a table, chairs and little man. Blinking as she was ushered inside with his words and explanation of who he was, the girl found herself being plonked on one side of the table as he walked around to the other.

Smiling nervously, the brunette glanced to the paper and pen which was placed on the table beside her. "A-Ah, good evening. I was just wondering if I could give my Pokemon a bit more of a unique quality about them. Er, let's see.." Quickly writing down the names and trying to make it as neat and understandable as possible, she handed the note beardly fellow, hoping he would find them acceptable.

The man smiled warmly while he glanced over the names on the paper. For some reason, he could just 'tell' when Pokemon were trades and which ones were normally owned. He put on a pair of glasses and puffed a waft of smoke from his pipe while he put the paper back down.

Missy, this is a great list of names!

He looked back down and read some of them, excitement in his voice. There was so much power in a name, and all of these were empowering!

Cyanide... Pandora... Cronos! I love them all! Consider the name change done!

The man snapped his fingers and leaned back in his chair, propping his feet on the table. The exchange was finished, so he was relaxing. Name changing was hard work!

Tanya entered the house with a small sheaf of paper in her hands, a nervous looking Blitzle following behind her. She looked around the place and spotted a rather jolly-looking fellow sitting on a couch, smoking a pipe without a care in the world. A young girl walked by her, grinning as she addressed her Swellow partner with its new name. Tanya smiled and gave her Blitzle a pat on the head as the old man ushered them in.

"Nice to meet you, sir. I just have one name I'd like to change. That of my Blitzle here," Tanya said, gesturing to the electric zebra. "I wrote the name down for you, to rate. I hope it's to your liking!" Tanya continued, her words intended for both her Blitzle and the elderly gentleman. She handed over the paper and stepped back, still smiling warmly as she waited for his verdict.

Delighted to see someone enter his house, this rather eccentric pipe smoking male was obviously not one to be shocked over complete and utter strangers literally waltzing on into his odd shaped house. Despite his craziness, the man stood up and puffed out of his pipe merrily as he responded to Tanya's greeting. "Top of the mornin' to ya, Missy! Wonderful day isn't it? Simply wonderful. WONDERFUL. Days like these make ya life worth livin'." Adjusting his pipe with a proud beam on his face, he tapped his nose knowingly. "I know why ya here though. Say no more." Receiving the paper Tanya had given him, he pulled out a pair of classic half rimmed spectacles and sat them tidily on the end of his nose. Reading it through, he had a huge explosive smile appear on his face. "This is... Something else. This really is. Its perfection personified. Simply sublime. BOLDLY BEAUTIFUL! A real work of art. Caladrius wasn't a bad choice, not on your nelly Missy. But this new change you're wantin'... Aramis. It's just... I wipe the tear from my eye. This thundering steed is now officially known as Aramis." Nodding his head satisfactorily, he gave her a wave. "Be sure to spread such a wondrous name to the world."
