HAGGENJOS, FINN RYAN
_ _ _ _ _
Name: Finn Ryan Haggenjos
Alias: Finnie; he dislikes being called Finn, but will deal with it.
Gender: male.
Date of Birth: October ninth, nineteen ninety-one.
Age: eighteen now ; nineteen soon.
Relatives:
father; Unknown, unknown, unknown.
mother; Mary Anna Haggenjos, 57, living
sister; Rosa Anna Haggenjos, dead at 11.
Appearance:
eyes _+ Finnie was born with two small, dark, hunter-green eyes on either side of his nose. They're not as centered on his face as most people have them, and are instead set higher up, making his face appear elongated. His eyes are a normally flat and woodsy green, but in the summer they can naturally develop flecks of gold and a lighter hue.
hair _+ Finnie has cut his own hair with a pair of kitchen scissors since the day people thought he was a girl in second grade; he has never gotten his hair cut by anyone else in his life, not even his mother. Needless to say, he hasn't always done a good job, but over the years he has grown a decency for it. His hair can range in color and shade, from a light, dirty blond to a deep, honey gold. It's always moderately unkempt and long, but not too long to seem careless. Two small tendrils hang in front of both his ears, and fall down to the start of his jawline.
build _+ Finnie has been athletic his entire life, not to build muscles or lose weight, but because he enjoyed being an athlete. He has never done any sports, but has a very strong set of limbs and can more than take a punch. He has horrible endurance, and hates to run, but his body is the kind built to fight; not in the way that his muscles are obvious, but so he can dodge quickly and still land a good hit. He's also always had difficulty achieving tanned skin, and is moderately pale even though he spent so much time in the sun - which is fine, too, considering he prefers being paler toned. His skin is still 'virgin', and he has no tattoos or piercings, or even a thought of wanting either.
weight _+ 149 lbs
height _+ 5'8"
clothing _+ Never having a wide variety of clothes, Finnie was never a person who liked to shop for himself. When he did get things for himself, he liked them simple and reliable. He owns several pairs of black, long-sleeved cotton shirts that are just worn enough to look stylishly comfortable, and can be seen wearing one most of the time. He has several pairs of dark blue-jeans that bunch up around the ankles, which he wears regardless of the weather or heat. On his left foot he hides a yellow-string anklet his sister made for him when they were little, and never takes it off. Finnie has pretty unremarkable shoes, generically designed dark blue sneakers that are a little worse for wear.
Personality:
obedient _+ Finnie can be like a dog- if you don't tell him what to do, he won't know how to appease you and will end up not doing anything; but if you give him an order, or just simply tell him exactly what needs to be done, he'll get it done with no questions asked. Finnie was raised having a 'don't ask, just perform' attitude about life, and on several occasions has gotten himself in sticky situations because of him not knowing what he was getting into.
sensitive _+ While otherwise calloused from the ignorance he recieved as a child, Finnie has easy-to-trigger emotions. Most people won't have a hard time pushing his buttons, whether they cheer him up or irritate him. It may not be very obvious, but he can be easily excited and just as easily depressed. Sure, it may not take long for the feeling to wear off - but if you insult him, don't expect for him to just brush it off right away.
distant _+ Finnie wasn't the 'popular' kid around town. He didn't have many friends and liked to keep to himself as a kid. It's not that he doesn't like people or that he feels uncomfortable around them; he's just more often lost in his own train of thought or doing his own thing instead of making friends or playing games with other people. (because actually, he really likes people, or at least the idea of them) He kept this trait throughout his life, but it's toned down a little.
determined _+ Finnie is overly determined, to the point of being stubborn; when he wants something, he will go far out of his way to get it. If something gets in his way, he will deal with it and find a way around- the only time he gives up is when he loses interest, which is only about half of the time. Things don't scare him too much and he'll always be pretty much up for anything that's offered to him.
other _+ Hates to be touched. He is embarrassed easily. His favorite Pokémon is Chinchou, and he hates weak Pokémon. He can't swim, and dislikes the texture of meat but isn't a vegetarian. He has trouble with commitment, and is happy to please others. He's a pack rat, and focuses mostly on the speed, attack, and levels of his Pokémon.
Memories: Finnie has had a strange set of events play out his past; he was born into a family of three: his alcoholic mother named Mary, and his fraternal sister called Rosa. The absence of a father was not a huge deal to him as a child - he and his sister occurred because of a one-night stand his mother had had - and Finnie and his sister practically raised themselves. They grew up in ever-populated Saffron City, in a cramped and under furnished house on the outskirts of the city. His mother worked long hours, and when she came home it wouldn’t be long before she was drinking, despite them having difficulties making ends meet in the first place. As a child, before their school years, he and his sister admired the strong trainers that fought in the Dojo and Gym in the town, and they both experienced a decent amount of time around Pokémon.
Rosa was born with a mild case of asthma, but only a few years after she and Finnie started school, it flared up into an almost crippling disease. The family was too poor to be able to afford the medicine, and Rosa quickly dropped out of school because of her illness. Finnie stayed in school even though he regretted it - he was very close with his sister; close enough to start stealing from stores and houses nearby to sell and make money for medicine. It started out with small things, pairs of shoes or candles or stuffed animals, but over the period of a few months grew into something more serious, like jewelry and cellphones and watches. They kept the money, Finnie and his sister, in an old jam jar underneath his bed - but more and more frequently, no matter where they changed hiding spots, their mother would steal the money and use it to buy things she couldn't normally afford. Finnie never ended up making enough money between the thefts to buy any medication for his sister, and she died of the illness when she was eleven. Furious and depressed, he never stopped stealing until he was caught (just a few small things, luckily enough) and both he and his mother moved to an even smaller 'house' in Vermillion city when he was fifteen. Even after the move, he continued to steal but a lot more carefully, and he made a plan to leave home when he was legally allowed, as his mother wouldn't let him until he was eighteen. He had collected enough money to take the S.S. Aqua to Olivine City, and then a smaller local boat to Cherrygrove City, where he trekked the short route to New Bark Town to get his first Pokémon; whether for nostalgia or a fresh start on things, Finnie wanted to start training.

note I didn't make any of the pictures. Let me know if he seems a little mary-sue-like. And sorry, by the way, I forgot if the Dojo was in Saffron, so please 'scuse that if there isn't. ^^; I was planning on making him join TR, but I do have to wait until he gets his first badge, so.[/size]
