Incoming from Luminous ValeI don't think the team realizes something. Justin thought, after a few minutes walking through Shady Glen. Surreo raised an eyebrow (as best as the Pokemon could) and beckoned Justin to continue talking. My starter is in the Conservation Center. Simba wasn't my starter, nor was Rhoan. You weren't my starter, and Dayn wasn't my starter. My Wartortle and her ridiculously annoying Wartortle song she sings is in the Conservation center right now, waiting for me to come pick her up one day. Even when transferring thoughts, Surreo could pick up on guilt easily. She knows that i'll be coming for her, and she never once doubted me. I get to see her when I communicate to the Center on video chats. She's always been happy to see me, and she never once doubted my return. But, I have to wonder. Did she ever think I wasn't coming back? Maybe because of her annoying song when she evolved? Of course I do, but when I see her Wartortle face in the chats, I can just see the happiness that's held here, and I can't help but hope that's really the case. I'm not a bad trainer. Surreo was silent for a few moments before speaking. No one said that you are. The Gallade watched his trainer. Justin had come in, full of energy and ready to waste time watching the sun hit flowers and trees a different way for photos. Now, looking at his trainer, there were visible weights holding the happy go lucky trainer down. No one may have said it, but that doesn't change how I feel. Surreo tried to put it into perspective; Justin tells the team they get to rest at the Center while their trainer trains a few other Pokemon that have been waiting. Team rebels. They have a conversation about it. Team tells Justin they think they're being replaced. No hilarity ensues. Relax. You're not a bad trainer, we just overreacted. We'll be there, enjoying our staycation - as you put it, whatever that is - and then when you come back, we'll welcome you with open arms and await our battle with the infamous Whitney. How does that sound? Surreo had gotten Justin into this mess, by golly he was going to get him out of it. "That sounds really good." Justin spoke aloud. With the exit ahead of them, Justin and Surreo disappeared into Azalea.

As Rhoan approached the man in the middle of the road, his first reaction was a loud yell and jumping practically 6 feet out of his own skin. The red-head's eyes narrowed. She didn't want to deal with this nonsense for long. But, the friendlier she was, and the quicker she got whatever she needed to do done for the Cut HM, the quicker she'd be out of here, on to her mission, and then to Goldenrod. Of course, that meant she'd have to head out to this forest twice, but beggers can't be choosers. Besides, she had a bit to do, and as long as this guy wasn't a chatterbox, she'd get what she needed done. Speaking of the boy... He was currently cowering and stammering. Rolling her eyes, Rhoan barked. "Get up, you're embarrassing yourself."
The boy got up off the flooring, putting a few things together in his head. Rhoan could see the gears turning, but she didn't quite understand 'why' he was so skiddish in the first place. It was just a forest, and he wasn't even far in. He was at the mouth, where he could easily run from danger if he didn't have any Pokemon. But, this boy couldn't be that stupid, to be in here without any Pokemon... "Nice to meet you, Sylvester." Refusing to indulge the nickname, Rhoan continued to listen.
Okay, maybe he was that stupid. He'd lost the Farfetch'd, and managed to get himself stranded or else he'd face the wrath of his father. The family business could go awry, and Azalea would go belly up. There was always some sort of sob story. Keeping her irritation hidden, Rhoan shoved her hands in her pockets and grunted. "Of course I could help, but what's in it for me? I've gotta get past this forest, and I don't have a way to do so." As if reading her mind, Sylvester went into a spill about needed the Cut HM, which yes, he did have on him, to get through Ilex. He'd give it to her for the safe return of the birds.
Why not just tie him up and take it right now? That seemed like the much quicker option. Besides, Rhoan got the impression this kid really didn't know how to handle himself in a fight, much less against someone experienced. However, the boy's father had a Magmar, and that just wasn't about to fly. "Fine, i'll find the birds." Rhoan grunted, turning towards the Luminous Vale path. Stupid errands.

Incoming from Luminous Vale
The Vale slowly died out, leaving nothing but the shade. The sun had ceased to peek through the branches that had made the Luminous Vale so attractive and pretty, but then again, Rhoan didn't want any sunburn, and shade was nice. Besides, she had two unconscious birds on the back of her Tauros that she needed to turn back in. As she left the Vale and made it into Shady Glen, Sylvester was nowhere to be seen. She had thought it was a little out further than normal, but perhaps he'd gone back to the lip where she'd met him? Either way, it was troublesome. She'd get through it though. The hardest part was one. The damn birds were found, so now to find the boy and give them to him.
"Oi! Sylvester!" Her thick accent seemed to slur the word, but as long as the man knew that she was looking for him it didn't matter. "I found your birds!" The calls seemed to fall on deaf ears, so Rhoan sighed and clicked her heels against Tauros's hide, urging him further towards the Shady Glen, and Ilex, entrance. The blue shirted figure eventually showed up on the horizon, so Rhoan kept Ares at his standard pace as she approached the boy. A wave of relief hit Rhoan when she realized it was all over. "Hey. Sylvester. She grunted, reaching back behind her.
"Found your unruly birds. They attacked, so I fought back. Got 'em back here though at least." She began to untie the birds and could almost feel Ares's back relax with each tug on the rope. "Good job carrying all of us, Ares." She grunted, before handing both birds to Sylvester. "I got their leeks too." She tossed them off of Ares's back and onto the ground by his feet, since his hands were probably full. "They're still in good working order, and they gave my Carvanha a work out, so thanks for that. They'll be fine after a rest or two." Rhoan played along nicely for the most part. She wanted that Cut HM badly enough. "I did hear you mention something about that Cut HM. Is that still up for grabs since I nabbed your birds?" She asked, still on the back of her Tauros.

Slowly getting himself up off of his stump that he had set himself down on after seeing Rhoan go off, Sylvester couldn't help but perk up as he heard the sound of Rhoan's stern call reaching out to him. That was quick. Surely she was a professional at this search and retrieve lark. The return of her voice meant one of two things. Either she had found the trouble making bird duo or she had given up and it'd be up to him to ultimately man up and go and deal with it himself. Finally getting a glimpse, he had something of a shocked look on his face. He had enough difficulty getting his Farfetch'd to not goof off let alone mount and ride such a determined bull. Thankfully as she grew closer, what he heard was positive. " Oh my... You have no idea how danged happy I am to have these birds back. I was seriously expecting to go back home empty handed... You saved my goose!" Shuffling around in his pockets, the youthful teenager seemed as if he had just dodged a near fatal death experience and had been prompted by her desperation for the key to unlock her way out of here. " If I had turned up with these two gone then da-... I mean, boss would have wrung my neck. Not to mention Kurt. My da- err, boss, is scary but Kurt's a whole other league. Yikes." Eyeing Rhoan cautiously, he suspected she was leagues above his father and Kurt combined. Eventually finding what he wanted in his pocket, Sylvester shoved the circular disk up for presentation to Rhoan before he carefully took back the naughty Farfetch'd which had been dumped on the floor. " I seriously can't repay you enough. I hope that Cutting Attack proves good enough for ya! Should be able to get ya outta this sprawling forest no troubles! Heh!" Evidentially happy that his goose wasn't going to be cooked, he made another little gesture of good will towards her. " I really ought to run back now but lemme remind you again. My pops and... Dammit. I mean boss and I run the Azalea Charcoal Kiln! We're world famous. So if you ever manage to come across another firewood from chopping away with that special attack then give us a bell. We'll make you some worthwhile charcoal! It's pretty swell for powering up Fire type Pokemon just so you know." With both Farfetch'd knocked out safely under his arms and wrapped up tightly, he began to get ready dash off lest he get a scolding from his pa- I mean boss. " I best head off now and make up some excuse as to why I lost all of the wood I was supposed to gather for today! Errr... What would work... A Beedrill swarm? Yeah!" His face taking on something of a serious tone, he nodded his head. " Just watch out while you get deeper in. You look like you can fend for ya self but there's a reason most people go frolickin' in inner Ilex and don't ever return out." Now fading off out into the distance between all the foliage and grass, he yelled out once more. " Seeya around hunter lady! GOOD LUCK!" For Rhoan's painstaking efforts, Sylvester hands her HM01 Cut!

The floundering boy was found, and Rhoan had handed him the two birds without so much as another word. He kept blathering and talking on about his father, Kurt, and the shop that he worked for. Rhoan was patient enough to sit and listen. Her eye was on the prize, and nothing was about to come between that. As Sylvester rifled through his pocket, her eyes left their narrow and widened as he handed her the HM. "Glad I could be of assistance." She grunted, trying to to appear too hasty as she shoved the HM into her bag.
Ares snorted, and pawed at the ground with a hoof. His impatience matched her own, but there was still work to be done. "Charcoal you say? Sounds like that'd be nice for my ensemble of fire Pokemon. Thank you for the information." As Sylvester continued on, he tried to think of an excuse for his folly. A Beedrill swarm was weak, at least in her eyes, but perhaps since he couldn't control the Pokemon it was a believable enough response. But, considering how easy the lies came to Sylvester, this probably wasn't the first time he had to cover his ass before.
She left Sylvester, and wandered to the mouth of Ilex and the end of Shady Glen before she dismounted and went through her Pokemon list. She needed to teach someone this move, but who? She released Tyrana, who stared up at her, almost known what Rhoan was about to ask. "Do not make me fall so low to learn a move of such simplicity." Tyrana snarled, and Rhoan rolled her eyes. "Teach it to the Joltik or Carvanha or something. I need all of my moves if you wish for me to still be useful. Surely there is someone else." Tyrana turned and faced away from Rhoan, crossing her arms gruffly. "Stubborn lizard." Rhoan muttered, returning the Charmeleon.
Reaver could learn it. Cola could learn it. Tyrana could learn it, and Cayzle could learn it. Reaver squeaked and practically rolled down Rhoan's arm with glee, reaching her stubby legs to touch the HM and learn the move. "I am curious to see how the smallest team member will cut down the trees that are in my way. And cut other things..." Rhoan mused, but taught the move to her Joltik nonetheless. "C'mon. There's work to be done."

Managing to struggling her way out of Union Cave and pass through Azalea Town, Catherine found herself standing at the entrance to Ilex Forest. Looking up at the gate way which separated the town and forest, the aspiring nurse took in a deep breath before looking to Atlas, who remained out of his Pokeball and perched on her shoulder. "Here we go, Atlas! I've heard this place is HUGE! Keep your eyes and ears open for me, okay? We're gonna get lost atleast once!" Considering Catherine wouldn't be able to find herself out of a paper bag, the stretch of land they were about to travel through did make the Pansage feel nervous. However, it is the only route they could take in order to progress, so it wasn't as if they had much of a choice. Getting herself ready with a few stretches, the girl stepped past the gate house and sure enough, as she stepped through the exit, only trees surrounded her.
The area was calmly quiet, only the sound of rustling leaves, wild Pokemon and her own crunching footsteps could be heard. "Woooah! It's beautiful here!" Catherine exclaimed as the duo stepped further in, looking around at the nature which surrounded her. For Atlas this type of surrounding felt just like home but he also knew that new, wild Pokemon lurked in the foliage so there was no point hopping off of Catherine's shoulder to swing around as he knew he would end up regretting such a move. "Look at all these different types of trees and mushrooms!" Unlike Atlas, Catherine was more than happy to stick her hands were they didn't belong. Picking up a stick, she began prodding away at a brightly coloured mushroom, until her ears pricked up at the sound of crunching leaves.
Turning her head suddenly, both Catherine and Atlas could make out the sight of a figure up ahead. Atlas practically turning white in fear of it being a ghost, for Catherine, such a simple thing couldn't scare her, let alone bring such an idea to her head. "Who is that? Let's go and say hello! Maybe they could point us in the right direction!" Hopping forwards, Catherine approached the nervous looking individual, speaking up relatively loudly. "Hello! My name is Catherine! Are you gonna go through Ilex too?" Noticing that he was indeed panicking, she wore a slightly smaller smile, "Hey? Are you alright? You're not scared of trees, right? Cause you're kinda in the wrong place if you are!"

Having been so wrapped up in his troubles, the young man had been totally unaware of Catherine coming up to him. Still racking his head physically with his hands, the man was about ready to yell out loud but the unexpected greeting from Catherine had meant his anticipation was misplaced into surprise. " Yeeehaaaaaaaaaahhhhh!!!" Jumping into the air and swivelling around to see who the meek voice belonged to, he held his hands up high to his face to obscure any possibility of it being one of the forest's malicious spirits. Not fully seeing that it was just a human girl before him, the youthful male cowered and spoke with a baited stammer. " N-N-No! Don't come for my soul! It's not tasty honest! I-I-I'll leave, I p-promise, gaaaah!" It was only when he had seen a tail flicker by from Atlas that the man lowered his guard. " Oh...Ohoho... Ah. I see." Getting up from the grubby flooring he had fell to, the young man blushed deeply at his mistake and nervously scratched the back of his head while nervously grinning. " Ahaha... You got me real good there. I seem to lose all competence when I enter this forest." Sighing exasperatedly, the male was absent minded enough to not introduce himself. " Not only am I terrified by rumours of ghosts prowling the woods but I seem to have lost the Kiln's livelihood. Our two Farfetch'd... Maaaan..." Abruptly blinking, he realised his lack of manners in not introducing himself. " OH! I forgot to introduce myself! The name's Sylvester! But you can call me Syl! Hah!" Giving a curt bow of his head, he explained his predicament. " My pops and I run Azalea's Charcoal Kiln business. It's nothing fancy but its our main income. I collect the wood and pops back home fires it up into Charcoal with his Magmar's special technique." With a strong sense of pride in his voice, it quickly faltered as he finished. " But! Listen! That might come to a sad end if I don't get these Farfetch'd back...!" Sighing again, it was clear this guy was either terribly poor at looking after Pokemon or just had the whole world conspiring against him. " My pa used to own the Farfecth'd but since I came to look after them they never listen and just do their own thing. I keep telling them to use Cutting Attack to get the logs needed but they just squawk and paddle off. They must think i'm some big time loser..." Shoving his hands deep into his pocket he kicked a leaf on the ground. " I don't have any Pokemon either so I can't go looking for them. Yup, just stuck here." Looking at Catherine and her Pokemon, a funny idea crept into his head. " Say, you look like a knowledgeable trainer and you have Pokemon. Why don't you go searching for me?" Seeing a flicker of hope ring in his eyes, Sylvester jumped at the chance. " I would be real grateful if you could help, like!" Unsure if she would do it out of the kindness of her heart or if she was like any other self respecting trainer and needed an incentive, he was quick to find something to bribe her with. " Say, you wanna get out of here right? Only way out is if your Pokemon can cut things up good. If not..." He pulled a face and blew his lips. " Pffffft, you're stuck. It's a good thing I have that Cutting Attack on me! I could give you the HM to teach your Pokemon." With the offer on the table, he proceeded to give her some hints. " Now, when I was out and about I distinctly remember losing the two Pokemon in two different neck of the woods..." Rubbing his chin, he tried to remember something unique about the locations. " Well, the first had a load of nocturnal Pokemon running about. Guess the Farfetch'd ran off to play with them. Err... The second... Yeah. It was a part of the forest which had this bizarre Pokemon. It looked like a bush but beneath all the vines were a pair of eyes. Heck, it even had these little red boots!" Clapping his hands together, Sylvester seemed confident she had enough to go on. " Ya can try knockin' them out in battle or setting traps about the forest. They're wily though so don't think they'll be easy to find." Moving over to a stump nearby to them, he stretched his arms before getting comfortable. " Best of luck, i'm here if ya get confused. This forest ain't exactly a walk in the park y'know."

Watching the visibly nervous man stumble at her appearance and land to the ground, Catherine peered over at him inquisitively as he suddenly started bumbling on about spirits. "Huh?! I'm not a ghost of Ilex, you silly goose! I'm a Pokemon Trainer!" She called out to him happily, not wanting him to get some strange idea that she was a spirit trapped in the forest. Such an idea was far too unbelievable! Slowly, the fact that she was indeed human began to settle in and with it, Sylvester stood back to his feet and began wearily explaining the situation. First off, she replied to his greeting, her head bowing politely, "It's nice to meetcha, Syl! My name is Catherine! I am travelling to learn how to become a great nurse and learn about all types of Pokemon! Thooooough, our travels have led us to this forest. I have no idea where to go!" Not the best with directions, she rubbed the back of her head wearily as even though she was simply at the entrance, there was still a chance of her getting well and truly lost.
Learning that Sylvester was the son of the local Kilnsman and that he had somehow managed to lose track of two very important Pokemon for their business, the inner helper of Catherine was quick to kick in. Holding an arm up in the air as if begging a teacher to pick her for answering a question, she jumped energetically up and down on the tips of her toes. "Ooh! OOH! Don't worry Syl! Me and my Pokemon can totally help you!" The type to do this sort of thing for free and without expecting gratitude, let alone a reward, the fact that he was offering her something to aid her when travelling through the forest sealed the deal in that exact moment. "Woah! So! You have a move what can teach Pokemon to cut down HUGE trees like this? That would be a HUGE help to get to the next city! HUUUGE!" Since Ilex Forest was so massive, Catherine was eager to learn of any tips Sylvester could give. What he said didn't mean a lot to Catherine but if she kept her eyes and ears out and open, she would surely track them down sooner or later.
"Nocturnal Pokemon and a bush with red boots. Gotcha! I'll find your Farfetch'd and bring 'em straight back. Maybe a super duper fun battle will be enough to convince them to come with me! I don't like the sound of traps." Readjusting her clothes, Catherine turned on the spot, receiving a stern point from Atlas on her shoulder who was trying to get in tune with his forest instincts. More than happy to place her trust in him, Catherine raised a hand to bid farewell to Sylvester, "Okay Syl, we'll head out to find your Pokemon. Wait right there, we'll be back real soon!"

After his gym battle with Bugsy, Alex was still heavy with guilt for being inconsiderate in his words. He felt terrible about that, and he also felt that his lack of social awareness wasn't making the situation better. Even though he won the gym battle with purely bug type on a bug type gym, he wished that he had gone back in time to fix what was said. Even though he was surrounding himself with most of his party Pokemon, and then greenness of nature, he still couldn't get over the feeling.
Speaking of Pokemon, his Tackzill the Dustox and Tanabae/Ikabae/Uuabae the Combee were fluttering by his side, after all, they were Pokemon who could fly. On his head was Spiden the Spinarak, who seemed to manage to grip onto his hair for every quick and short steps that he take while walking through this forest. Next to him was Lodd the Lombre, A lilypad looking Pokemon who had arms and legs like a two-legged animal. The grass and bug type Pokemon were enjoying the scenery and time outside of their Pokeball, walking with leisure with Alex by the side. And the ones who weren't outside of their Pokeball was Chryaisy the Petilil, and Grenevir the Snover. The Snover might cause a hail being out, so Alex decided to let her stay. As for the young Petilil, Alex was afraid that she would be distracted and not catch up with her, so he also decided to keep her inside.
With his head down on the grass, both because of the previous gym battle, and keeping an eye on the forest ground as he walked, Alex walked carefully and solemnly, His feet shuffled through the grass, making soft sound of grass being temporarily crushed for each step he walked, which eventually turned to a rhythm. Well, it was a combination of his step and Lodd's walking.
Then, just as he was entranced in his walking, he bumped into someone, another human in the forest! He gasped and frantically apologized, shouting "I'm sorry! I'n sorry!" and began walking away with his head slightly tilted up, so that he don't bump into anymore humans or trees.
OOC: 365 words that person was Sylvester?

Sylvester's day had been terrible so far. He was not only late bringing wood for his father to make Charcoal but to make matters worse the family's Farfetch'd had decided to run off into the forest leaving him with no way to do his job. " This is just fantastic. Of all the times they had to decide to run off it was not. Oh what am I going to do. If I do not get them back soon pa will surely be very upset with me. I knew I should have had a microchip implanted into those Farfetch'd so I could find them whenever they ran off." Sylvester said as he walked towards the entrance of the Ilex Foresr. Having no other Pokemon of his own he had no way to to and look for them himself. He could always go back and ask Bugsy for help but he knew his father would like to see him take some responsibility and handle this himself. His father had given him the task to look after the Farfetch'd while they cut down the trees his father needed and he had failed in that task. Thinking about the worst case scenario as he was about to tell his father the bad news he bumped into a young man that looked like he might be able to help out. " Oh don;t apologize that was my fault. I am in so much trouble my mind is not thinking straight at the moment. There is something I think you can help me with however if you do not mind as you look like a strong trainer. It may take a bit of effort to do this task and I have an HM I can give you in return."After a brief pause he began to explain the situation. " My father's Farfetch'd have ran off somewhere deeper into the forest and I do not have any other Pokemon with me and due to that I cannot look for them myself. I am not certain but one of them looked like it was heading for an area where the sunlight easily passes through the trees while the other one looked like it was headed towards an area where a Pokemon usually found in caves likes to hang out. I know this is an awful lot to ask of you but I do hope you will be kind enough to help me. I will wait here hoping that you will return with my father's lost Pokemon."Sylvester has asked you for help finding his lost Farfetch'd. There are 2 of them you must find before you can return to claim your prize.

Just as he was about to leave, Alex was stopped by the human he bumped into, who was asking for his help. He listened carefully as the person described his missing Farfetch'd, and the entice of a Hidden Machine to help the stranger he just bumped into. He nodded at appropriate times to indicate that he was actually still listening and not waiting for the guy to stop talking. After assessing the situation and brief idea, Alex replied, uncomfortably as he had literally just stepped into Ilex Forest. "Uhh... I will try and see where your Farfetch'des are. I just got into Ilex Forest so I am a bit lost myself. Maybe I will find them while I am lost here." After accepting to help the stranger, he waved a hand to say goodbye, and continued walking inside the Ilex Forest, with few of his Pokemon by his side. Maybe he could distract his mind by helping this stranger, to stop the guilt of his attitude with Bugsy. Maybe. -head to gloomy ravine-

"Huuuuuh? Are we back at the beginning?"
After wandering around in yet more circles in an attempt to leave Luminous Vale, Catherine had managed to wind up back at the place where she had first started. Slumped tiredly her shoulder, with any left over energy drained after being a part of such an ordeal, was Atlas. Yumina was happily bouncing the first, fainted Farfetch'd in her arms but even she was bemused by the layout of this forest. "So. We came this way and turned that way but we need to go to there..." Looking upward and using her fingers to point, she tried to come up with some form of map in her mind but for someone as scatter brained as Catherine, there was no use even trying. "Hmm. Maybe Syl is around here to ask for some guidance. I mean, we have been in the forest for hours and I couldn't see a single part of the forest that is currently dark enough for nocturnal Pokemon to be around... Would we have to wait until night time?"
Shuddering at the mere thought, Atlas immediately lifted his head as an attempt to desperately find the correct direction. He was going to drag this girl through the forest by her hair if he had too. The environment was nice but it was certainly the worse place for someone such as Catherine to be in for too long. Noticing that an area up ahead had sparse trees, the grass monkey was hesitant but had no other choice, leaping from her shoulder, the Pansage chose to be a guide, if only to give Catherine the push she needed to move ahead. "HUH?! ATLAS?! WAIT FOR MEEEE!"

Gasping loudly, Catherine and her team of wild and rambunctious Pokemon randomly burst through a thick mass of foliage, staggering onto the dirt path carelessly whilst Atlas her Simisage, flipped suavly out of the tree tops and landed neatly in front of her. All manner of twigs and leaves poking out from her hair and clothes, it seemed the path lead by Atlas was clear up above but not so much on the ground. Face, arms and legs smeared with mud, the girl still wore a grin of excitement. It had been a long time she had been exploring through a dense woodland, not that it was a memory of the past that she wanted to remember. Still, now that she had Pokemon by her side, those memories very rarely returned. "Hah!... Hah!... We made it back!" Pumping an arm into the air as she spotted the entrance gate house, which led back to Azalea, the aspiring nurse held onto one fainted Farfetch'd with one hand, whilst using the other to brush her clothes down.
"Now. Where is that boy.." She mumbled less and than quietly, her spare hand resting bossily on her waist as she looked around expectantly. Spotting him in the distance near a particularly thick tree trunk, she gained a spring in her step and began to charge her way over. "YOOHOOO! HEY! SYL!" Waving a hand in the air whilst calling out loud to try and grab his attention, the girl stumbled her way in front of him, slightly out of breath but her success didn't allow her lips to remain quiet for too long. "Lookie! We found them!" Holding out the fainted Farfetch'd in her arms, Yumina mimicked her trainers actions and did the same for the second. "They sure are stubborn, so we had to battle them! I am sure they will both be okay after a bit more rest!" Smiling expectantly, she waited for Sylvester to accept his birds back. She didn't expect any sort of reward, mind you but she also wasn't the type to ever turn anything down!

Sylvester was beginning to dread having to tell his father had had lost the two Farfetch'd and that he was unable to find them. As his hopes of Catherine returning with them before he was due back for dinner had just about run out he could hear a voice a short distance away that sounded like hers. As he turned his head and saw the young lady he sighed in relief as he heard she had recovered the missing Farfetch'd. " Oh dear sweet Arceus my tail feathers are saved. I cannot thank you enough for bringing these two back to me." He had remembered promising her a reward for finding the Farfetch'd and he planned on keeping that promise. Reaching into his pocket he pulled out a hidden machine used to teach Farfetch'd how to cut down the trees in the forest. " I would like you to have this hidden machine for returning these two to me. I am sure it will help you on your journey." As he checked the time he had only a few more minutes before he was due for dinner. " I wish I could stay and chat but I am almost late. If you are in the area again I invite you to visit our Charcoal Kiln. My father makes fantastic charcoal and after hearing how much help you have been I am sure he can make some for you as long as you can provide the logs needed to make it. I hope to see you again." As Sylvester walked away the two Farfetch'd began to come to and they realized how much trouble they were in. Catherine on the other hand was now free to continue on her journey. For Catherine returning the lost Farfetch'd , Sylvester hands her HM01 Cut!

Catherine stood with a beaming grin, both her Simisage and Blissey also smiling in their own way by her side, as Sylvester exclaimed his glee over regaining his two lost Farfetch'd. It became immediately clear just how important these Pokemon were to not just him but the rest of his family and their business. Without the birds to cut down the wood, they couldn't make the charcoal they were most famous for. Rolling her ankle shyly on the spot, Catherine's cheeks blushed lightly as she was lathered with praise. "Glad to be of help! But my Pokemon are the real ones you need to thank! They helped me through the forest and led me to your Farfetch'd!" Looking down to Atlas in particular, the grass monkey caught her gaze and flashed a grin, running a hand smoothly across his pompadour like hair. "And one of my bestest friends evolved from this trip. I am the one most grateful!"
Covered from head to toe in all manner of mess from mud to leaves and twigs, it was clear she had experienced an adventure and a half. Plus, this was only the opening few areas of Ilex! Opening her hands, Catherine accepted the HM handed to her, examining the object carefully. She had used some TMs on her Pokemon previously before but obviously a HM was a step up from that. In some aspects. Listening to his description of the item, she placed it carefully in with the rest of her belongings before bidding farewell to the ever so busy Sylvester. He had a dinner to return to, after all. "Uh huh, I am sure we will meet again one day! Good luck, Syl, keep an eye on those Farfetch'd!" Lifting an arm up high, she waved them off before deciding her next plan of action.
In the end, she too returned to Azalea for a quick food break and also a change to her team. Although she had Atlas, she figured that the Tangela she had captured previously would have more knowledge regarding Ilex Forest. Returning the next morning with her plans all set, Catherine began her mission to reach Goldenrod by nightfall, with Tangela by her side. Passing through the area they met Sylvester, they followed the dirt path to the next area.
