Ethereal Lake remained a gem within the wild forested regions of Ilex. Resting past the Dense Thicket, many of the inhabitants found it difficult to traverse. Though those that made it were rewarded with a captivating sight. The trees pulled away to allow the giant body of water to stretch out amongst the tall green grasses, creating a break in their usually thick canopies. Light no longer filtered in through the Tangled mess of sturdy branches and rustling leaves, it spilled all around with a bright glow. The sun's rays would normally bounce off the surface of the water, creating bright spectacles of multi hues in bright, circular patterns. It was no wonder some would take their honeymoon here or anniversaries.
Something stirred along the water's edge. It created a part in the waves that rose up and danced erratically away from each other. An outline took shape first, then slowly it transformed into the image of a small woman with flowing hair as white as the moon's pale glow. A sandstorm raged around the transparent image, creating a strange sort of glow that might have seemed as though it were a bad omen. She reached out with two hands and pointed to Freya urgently.
Please! The guardian spirit spoke inside of Freya's head with a sense of urgency. As she turned to a patch of tall wheat grass whose blades stood higher than most men, the spirit would pull them back as though pulling back curtains to reveal the sick patient just beyond.This little one is under a horrible spell and needs your help. Will you assist it? There's a malevolent spirit at our forests shrine who has our healer trapped inside!"
She would describe the poisons that affected the small Chikorita and how it had been afflicted with the curse. The evil spirits that inhabited Ilex were hunting the grassy green brachiosaurus so that they could drag its spirit off to another realm. I am tethered to this lake as it's guardian and cannot assist this poor soul. But you can! Please, will you lend a hand? The lake spirit asked, eyes that glowed as they stared into Freya's as though they were peering into her soul itself. Freya would need to carry Chikorita with her and free the healer from the curse in order to heal the poor Pokemon.
