After leaving the shrine, the air seemed to get less suffocating and made her feel lighter and more sure that something wasn't going to leap at her from the shadows. Saphira relinquished her grip on Tanya's coat and appeared to be more at ease as well, which was a good sign. The next area of the Ilex Forest they entered was a small grove filled with trees (surprise). These trees were more evenly spaced, and the light streaming in from above gave a majestic touch to the scenery.
Tanya took a deep, filling breath and sighed it out, slowing her pace to really take in the forest. Despite not liking the fact she was probably lost, it was nice to just get away from the busy cities and towns and get back to nature. Even Starscream was more relaxed here with no one to be hostile with. He remained on the ground with her and Saphira, content to rest his wings after all the wandering they had done during their search for the Farfetch'd.
Well, it wouldn't hurt to stop and rest. "Hold up you two. Let's take a breather and stop for a snack," Tanya called out to her partners, drawing them back to her side. Saphira grinned as Tanya sat down on a dry, fallen log, pulling her messenger bag off her shoulder and placing it on her lap. Rooting through it, the girl produced a can of cool soda and a sandwich, laying them off to the side before producing another sandwich for Saphira. Starscream was offered a fish Tanya had sealed away to keep the smell from permeating her bag forever, and he quietly accepted it.
"I wonder what kind of Pokémon live here in the deeper parts of the forest," she wondered out loud as she munched on the peanut butter and jelly sandwich. Saphira gave a muffled grunt as she shoved the whole thing in her mouth and attempted to chew it. Tanya frowned, her emerald eyes concerned as they lit upon the dragon. "You're gonna choke, you dolt."

“Dy!” There was a sudden cry that rang through the grove as a Ledyba floated down from the trees, quickly whizzing past Tanya was stealing a bit of her Sandwhich right from her hand. It buzzed as it hovered over a branch above them, chewing eagerly at the sandwich caught in its feet. The peanut butter and Jelly made it feel sticky as it dribbled down the Ledyba’s front. It seemed quite amused, now satisfied and no longer hungry. “Dy!” It cried again, looking down at Tanya. Had…that been her Sandwhich? Oh, great, she was probably mad now. Just its luck. The tone in its buzz changed, now uncomfortable, not wanting to think of what the girl might do to it. It had just, after all, taken a chunk of her delicious sandwhich. Though, at the sight of the bird and the fire lizard, it didn’t dare make a move to go anywhere, what if they chased it? Saphira glanced up at it curiously. It had some sort of problem, didn’t it? It seemed jittery, like they were going to eat it or something, so she wasn’t quite sure what what they should do. She hadn’t glanced at Tanya, so she didn’t know how the girl felt about all this, but the bug didn’t seem like it could move. _____________________________________________________ Warning!Wild Ledyba (Level 10) has appeared! Her rage abated slightly when the ball stopped moving, signifying a complete capture. She ignored the beeping of the 'dex and pressed something on it to shut it up, storming over to the ball and fixing it with a seething glare. Stupid sandwich eating bug. As soon as she got back to civilization, she'd been sending it off first chance she got. However, before she could contemplate anything else, Saphira poked her hard in the thigh.
"Dios mio! Saphy, don't do that!" Tanya scolded her upon turning around. Her eyes snagged on Aster's light-engulfed form and made her pause with awe as evolution took hold. His form shifted as the light grew brighter and brighter before dimming, revealing a taller, spindly-legged creature in his place. He looked more humanoid, and it seemed his eyes were finally showing as well.
He shook his head and gazed around, getting used to the fact he could see better than before, though something caught his eye. Lurking under the log Tanya had been resting on was a twinkle of blue, shimmering with a faint light. Aster trotted over to it and bent down, picking up the small, cyan-coloured stone and holding it in his paws. Touching it had an adverse reaction, as once more he was awash with light.
This time when he emerged, he was even taller and looked more developed than before. A horn curved over the top of his head, protruding from the green 'hair' that covered it. His arms had grown longer and developed blade-like attachments at the elbows, and another horn extended from his chest and back. Longer legs gave him an elegant and striking figure, completing his appearance. Tanya was still open-mouthed in shock as the newly evolved Gallade turned towards her.
"Wow! You look so grown up, Aster," Tanya breathed, walking over and looking him up and down. The Gallade let a rare smile flash onto his face, red eyes following her movements. Hell, he was taller than her, a rare thing. Aster looked over at Starscream, who had taken to watching his evolution with great interest. Amazingly, the steel raptor dipped his head with a hint of respect before turning away.
Saphira puffed out her cheeks upon witnessing that and crossed her arms. Starscream was such an as-- "Huh? What is it Aster?" Tanya's voice cut into the dragon's thoughts. The Gallade had sensed something else approaching them and had struck a battle-ready pose, one arm bent at the elbow and blade aimed at whatever was coming.

I WHIP MY LEAVES BACK AND FORTH, I WHIP MY LEAVES BACK AND FORTH, I WHIP MY LEAVES BACK AND FORTH, I WHIP MY LEAVES BACK AND FORTH. Completely oblivious to the potential danger that lurks around every corner, a young Oddish was wandering aimlessly through the forest, whipping the blades of grass on top of its head wildly, screaming very loudly. Well, wasn't so much screaming as it was singing, but not with that voice. They sounded like screams, the sort of singing that broke glass and made ears bleed. Still, the Oddish continued on its way, not caring about what sort of attention it might bring to itself. Actually, maybe any predatory Pokemon kept their distance from this thing because of the ear-bleeding possibilities... Then, suddenly, Oddish just stopped. It had spotted Tanya and her travel companions, smiling innocently at their apperance. It then started to sway back and forth once more, starting to hum a drone in a very soft voice, before progressively getting louder and louder. Before long, it sounded like it was shaking the very earth beneath everyone with its terrible singing voice! By the watchful eye of Arceus, it was so loud it could drown out an Exploud! Chances are damn good this Pokemon has no friends, it is so damn cheerful and loud! Oddish wants you to RAWK OUT WITH IT![Fight!]

Moka swiftly dispatched the Oddish with a strike of her wings, silencing it for a good long while. "Good job, mi amiga," Tanya complimented the bat, who chittered before landing on Tanya's shoulder. The myths about the bat-like Pokemon getting tangled in one's hair was quite a heap of dung.
Moka was more than content to hang onto her trainer's shoulder and never felt the need to sidle over and cling to the wavy auburn locks that spilled down the girl's back. She recalled Aster to his ball for some rest and let the Zubat remain out, intending to get her some more training.
After that, it was her Blitzle's turn. For now, however, she was done with this particular area, and so it was time to pack up. Tanya headed back to the log and cleaned up the remnants of her snack break. Snapping the clasp on her bag shut, she swung it onto her shoulder and stretched her arms carefully in front of her, making sure not to dislodge Moka from her perch.
"Right well... let's move on, shall we?" Tanya asked her team rhetorically, gliding forwards and heading off in a random direction, hoping that no matter where it led her, it wouldn't take her to some deep, gloomy, depressing spot in the forest where the chills she'd felt before could return.

Incoming from Twilight Glade
As soon as Tanya and Saphira walked into the area, she crossed her arms and scowled. Oh sure, she wasn't lost, but having to backtrack across places she'd already been through was fairly annoying. Sighing, the girl unwrapped her arms and raked one hand through her hair, pushing down her annoyance. If she wanted to find this berry haven, she would have to go at it with a clear head.
"Alright Sapphy, let's keep going. No point in dawdling this time," Tanya spoke, glancing at her partner. The dragon nodded and smiled, her blue eyes patient. She was tired of all the walking herself, but keeping her trainer company was a quiet sort of joy she reveled in. Crossing through the grove, the two quickly made for the next destination.

Returning from Forest Shrine
Damn the trees; damn them to hell! Tanya creased her brow but said and did nothing as they came back into the grove they'd spent time in before deciding to head deeper into the forest. The spot where the thieving Ledyba and horrible singing Oddish had been encountered. Moka stirred on her shoulder, making Tanya start; she'd forgotten the bat had even been there. Luckily the Zubat had passed out entirely and made no noise, but had retained her grip on Tanya's shirt for the duration of the journey. No time to spare worrying though; they had somewhere to be.

Incoming from Twilight Glade
The blue and orange colours of twilight normally were quite breathtaking to her, but there was no time to stop and admire the sunset. With something malevolent lurking in the forest, Tanya wanted to get out as fast as she could before something creepy happened. Saphira skipped along in front of her, leading the way. If the sun happened to set, at least the fire alight on her tail would act as a guide - or worse, a beacon to whatever dark spirits lurked in here. Shuddering at the thought, the girl picked up her pace and hurried out of grove.

Sandy and Muru had finally stopped running once the sense of dread stopped running through their limbs. Sandy gasped to catch her breath and tumbled onto the ground, staring up at the canopy of the forest, catching her breath quickly afterward. Muru poked her with her nose, and Sandy sat up, sitting on the floor indian-style.
"Muru, what the heck do you think that was?" Muru could only offer a whine, turning to make sure Berry was still on her back. Once she was sure of it, she sighed in relief. Sandy stood up and dusted herself off, looking out at the forest ahead of them. Taking a deep breath, she realized that that part of the forest, that's where she was feeling the pull. Her heart felt heavt, and she just felt like that would be where what she was looking for was located.
"Come on Muru, let's go."''

They had been rushing on non-stop since they left Sombre Valley, and though Sandy wasn't sure where to go, or if her feelings were right, the tag seemed to be leading them all somewhere. There was somewhere they had to go. Though Flora's directions hadn't been too clear, maybe the ghost girl had figured out that they'd be guided in the end.
Suddenly, Hiroki and Spirit both slowed to a stop. Something seemed...wrong... very, very wrong. Spirit had been convinced he had managed to vanquish all of the ghosts in the forest after his last battle, but the chill down his spine told him that there must have been something here that was planning a visit, and they had to take care of it fast.
"Hiro, Spirit? Why are we stopped?" Though neither answered, she slid off of Spirit's back, because now she understood why. There was something unkindly about this place, something that she had not sensed upon coming here the first time, and that's what her Pokemon were sensing too.
--Stopped here, waiting for an encounter--

Given how many encounters the group had come across by now, it would be understandable to believe they had all developed an inherent sixth sense that allowed them to grasp the spirit world around them. As they came to a stop and tried to attune themselves to the majestic forest scenery around them, it was very much obvious that their affirmations about the place being unsettling were true. Despite the majestic pines and royal like profoundness of the trees themselves, there was indeed a dark spirit that lurked between the trunks. Unlike the others they had come across, there was a definite contrast in comparison. While all the other evil deceased spirits had exuded an aura of pure, unholy evil this ghost in particular had a very faint foreboding about it. Perhaps all the exorcisms Sandy had been performing were starting to weaken the evil that had gripped the forest. Knowing it had little chance of winning, the spirit cackled suicidally as it began to try and transfer as much of the heat in its surroundings to give itself energy. Turning the very air around it into a frosty, chilled temperature, the evil figure finally made itself known. Appearing from the sky above them, a huge looming gaseous outline hurtled towards them while cackling. It knew it wasn't going to prove much but that didn't stop it from indulging its suicidal tendencies. Encounter

As the battle finished off, Spirit let out a loud snort, his foot stamping against the cold dirt. Hiroki seemed surprised by the force Spirit had put into his attack, considering that he disliked Sandy. The Mole however, didn't ask, instead digging in place as he waited for Spirit and Sandy.
Sandy climbed onto his back again, careful not to dig her heels into his sides and hurt him. She looked down at the sick Chikorita again and frowned, gently touching the leaf on its head. They were so close to saving it, and it looked to be in terrible condition.
"Come on Spirit, we're almost there, I can feel it. Hiroki, lead us on!" Hiroki went to work while Spirit thundered off behind him, increasing his own place as the mole did.

Coming from the Forest Shrine. As Marchbaby and his two Pokemon reached the next area they felt a lot better about this location than they did in the Forest Shrine. This area seemed a lot less heavy and far more welcoming than the shrine and they did not mind taking a bit more time to enjoy the scenery before they headed off to the next area. There was some fairly large trees in the area which looked like they could be headbutted and even though Marchbaby had a Pokemon that knew Headbutt he decided to wait for now and come back after he had explored more of the forest. They slowly walked along a path that they found near the trees that Marchbaby hoped would lead them to the lake soon as he really wanted to see if the rumors of a ghost living there were true. Heading to Ethereal Lake.
