Rita didn't answer the bug as she was already racing over the ground, eyes wide in half-panick and veered off and ran in a wide circle around it when it had all its attention on her. "What's an illumise?" Silvia called from where she stood and began to jump closer, "if you look for the skiddo she's right there," she added and gestured to the grass type standing right beside Astrid. "We're not sacrificing anyone though, we have battled fairly and I even asked if someone wanted to battle us, so if if we have battled one of your illumise thingies, its because they have stepped forward to face us."Rita leaped and missed as the volbeat easily flew a little bit higher and avoided her biting. It shouted angrily at the raticate, who just registreret that it shouted and then felt it slam into her side, she spun around and buried her teeth into it. She flung it to the side and it raced off, Rita too spun around and leaped into the nearest bush. "Rita? Rita are you there? Are you alright?" Silvia called, barely containing her laughter. Rita's head popped out of the bush and she looked around embarrassed, "i told you," she mumbled and Silvia laughed, "What? It worked!"Rita shrugged, not looking at Silvia, who stopped laughing and looked at her puzzled. "Silvia? Rita? Are you coming? We are moving on," Astrid called and pointed at Ramsey who waved at them from the other end of the clearing and then disappeared among the foilage. The two pokemon hurried up to Astrid and they followed the ranger in a slower tempo, "he says he has found some clues, but I do not know if it is of the missing pokemon or the other trainer he says is out here."Pia turned her head as she heard both pokemon and a human talk, she spread her wings and cursed the sound of her flapping as she took to the sky and flew towards it. It was probably not the pokemon they were looking for, but she was curious for what they were doing out here and who knew, perhaps they had seen something which they could tell her. Wordcount: 371 (ooc: looking for an encounter. Feel free to shoot Pia down or try trick her or whatnot Marchbaby Or the mod to stop her, but now we're probably going to be rolled for a double, we better actually somehow run into each other.)

Large grey clouds loomed over all of Ilex. They were massive, stretching across the vast blue skies and darkening the lands underneath them. Twilight Glade – a place whose densely populated trees and wide, expanding canopies kept the land underneath trapped in a perpetually ‘dark’ atmosphere – seemed even darker and gloomier than most days. The massive clouds shook as a loud clap of thunder roared through the heavens above. A bright burst of lightning zipped from the heavens above and landed somewhere in the distance. The sounds of wood breaking, and shrieking cries sounded in the distance, though it was obviously too far away to warrant either trainer from investigating the matter. Two Pokemon seemed locked in combat as the rains poured down from the clouds above. A medium brown owl fluttered through the entangling branches of the canopies above. It hooted loudly and twisted its body in different directions as its large, red eyes searched through large green leaves and thick, twisting vines. Its warm brown feathers were plastered against its body, soaked by the torrential downpour. A fluffy blue bat with large black wings chirruped cheerfully as it darted around through the canopies, calling out to the brown bat. “I told you that you would lose!” It snuffed, ramming into the owl and knocking it out of the branch. The Hoothoot plummeted from the canopies towards the ground. It would catch itself in just the nick of time and raise itself back up into the air as it spread its wings, chasing after the bat. “And I told you I would never give up!” The owl huffed! Both Pokemon would zip around Astrid in the blink of an eye. The Hoothoot dived down low, ducking just around the old lady, before swooping up high. It’s wings beat so fast as its side that it sounded like a fast paced heartbeat pounding away. The brown owl would then swoop just past Pia with enough force to possibly disrupt her flight patterns if the Toucannon wasn’t carefully. Shortly after, the Woobat would follow, ducking down low to bypass Astrid with enough force that the winds off her wings could have shaken up Astrid’s curly grey hair on her head. Then, the Woobat would duck around Pia, almost toppling into her. “Oops, excuse me!” It giggled! They both stopped short diving, one after the other, into a large bush, and shooting out the other side to come face-to-face with Tyler. Noticing they were now ‘surrounded’ they would both fly up and nod to each other, before turning to the trainers individually. “If you’re trying to gang up on us, it won’t work!” The owl declared. “We work well as a team!” The bat bluffed. A Wild Hoothoot and Woobat Appeared! Hoothoot level 14 & Woobat 12. Please choose what to do here. Double battle is for both Tyler & Astrid. Shiny? HNmyBgYJ1-421-421-42·1-42

As the Hoothoot and Woobat were defeated Zira stared off into the distance making sure the coast was clear. She was nowehere near tired from the previous battle and wanted to keep getting stronger so that she could prove her worthiness to Tyler. The young Luxio knew her aim was not the best in the previous battle with how many tries to took to hit Hoothoot and she wanted to work on her targeting skills so she would not struggle so much the next time a flying type battled her. Tyler was far from impressed with her aim as well however she still did defeat Hoothoot without taking any damage so she had not been a total disaster.
" Your aim was off there Zira, we need to work on that as we will encounter flying types in future battles and you cannot struggle to hit a target so much just because it can fly." After expressing his disappointment in Zira's aim he took the Lucky Egg Chomper had been holding and gave it to Zira and then handed Fenrir a Cleanse Tag so that Zira could get the maximum benefit from any training they could do while they were there. After swapping the items around Tyler then turned towards Astrid. He had never seen an Alolan Raticate before but besides the poor accuracy he was impressed by it's power.
" That sure was an odd looking Raticate you have, I have never seen one like that before. Though it could use some work with accuracy just like Zira it does seem to be pretty strong when it does hit." As he waited to hear more about the strange looking Raticate Fenrir and Mania started to scan the area again hoping to pick up on any Pokemon that might have come around after the noise from the battle subsided. Tyler had little doubt that so much noise would have kept most Pokemon away for a while but now that things had been quiet for a bit he hoped something else would be brave enough to jump out and face him and Astrid.
" No sign of the Pokemon I am after so far but at least Zira is getting stronger out of the search. Who knows how long this search will take but there are at least two more Pokemon I need to find once I am done here. This will be a long search but my team certainly needs the training." He said hoping to strike up more of a conversation with Astrid hoping it would keep her from expecting anything.
OOC: Fenrir is now holding a Cleanse Tag and Zira is now holding a Lucky Egg. Looking for another encounter.

Astrid gasped at Tyler's harsh words about the wild pokemon, "there is a big difference between stern teaching and beating them senseless! They will not learn anything from the last, other than being scared! If you want to teach them something, let them learn from their errors so they know not to stick their nose out too far, instead of making them scared of anything new!" She protested horrified and looked closely at Tyler's pokemon. How did they look to be with their trainer? With how he talked, and how they acted around him, she wouldn't be surprised if they called him Master. She shivered, that was the type of person who would join Team rocket or some other gang without a second thought just because it made them feel more powerful. The old woman looked closer at Tyler and wondered what had set him down this path and why strength and being so tough was so important to him.
"What pokemon are you looking for?!" Ramsey snapped suspiciously at Tyler and Astrid smiled to herself and said kindly, "I doubt he is the one releasing it, if he is here and you said the sightings has been going on for weeks." Ramsey sent her a quick glance and mumbled something under his breath, his stantler stomped the ground restlessly. "Well?" Ramsey would ask sternly but less accusingly than before.
Astrid would have been surprised to know some of Tyler's pokemon suspected her to be an officer, especially since they thought her kind, that and her age usually did so that people didn't believe she was a cop unless she showed her badge, and even then they had a hard time believing it could be true. Not that Astrid would begin to wave her badge around now, why should she? Nothing criminal had happened, and it wasn't a crime to be harsh on pokemon, even though she wished some trainer's would be more considerate of their pokemon, and the ones they battled.
Rita had jumped around more and more frantically and while looking silly she began to panic as she was stuck in this battle and it was taking too long! Finally she got lucky and got hold of the woobat and rather harshly pulled it down and slammed it into the ground. She let go immediately and leaped off to the right and raced off, not hearing any apology from the bat, she hadn't been angry at it at all. "Rita! RITA! Wait! Stop, its alright!" Silvia shouted after her and somehow managed to get through the raticate's frantic state of mind and she slowed down to look back sheepishly before she trotted back to the others. "You really need to calm down during battles!" Silvia commented with a grin and Rita scraped the ground embarrassed, "well, it's what have kept me alive while my friends got caught and eaten," she mumbled. Her ears twitched as Tyler began to comment on her, and she scratched herself uncomfortably.
Astrid wasn't one bit surprised when she heard how disappointed Tyler was with his pokemon missing, but at least Zira didn't look like she was affected much by it. "Moving targets are the hardest to hit and requires a lot of target practice," Astrid said casually. "She is from the Alola Region, and I'm pretty sure her aim is less than perfect because she has her focus elsewhere," the old woman said a bit dismissive, "there is other qualities that strength." Ramsey stepped closer to Astrid and whispered to her to keep Tyler occupied and asked for her to try keep him off the abandoned pokemon they were looking for, mostly since he was sure it wouldn't do well under a harsh trainer like him after what it had been through.
The ranger went out looking for more clues about the gothita but it was Pia who found something first. She came gliding back and called for them to follow her, which Astrid and her pokemon would do. What the toucannon had found was a rope tied around a treetrunk, with an empty bowl on the side. Ramsey kneeled as he looked closer on the rope, "It's undamaged, it has just been untied," he said as he let it drop back on the ground and looked around. "Which means it doesn't uses teeth or claws to get free, and it can be anywhere as this has been here for weeks."

Thunder roared from the heavens above as the ethereal and spooky glade cast its low-light glimmer across the scene. Thick grey thunderclouds would make the land around it more impossible to see – darkening the land so that browned, dead leaves on the forest floor would appear almost black. A flash of lightning lit up the world for an instance, casting a strange bright light across the trainers’ faces, then disappeared as quickly as it came. A large crack, like a branch snapping off a tree nearby, echoed through the dense forest. Though, the air around them remained quiet as the Pokemon that lived there seemed to have all rushed off towards their nests. After some time searching, something would call from deeper inside of the glade. It was a soft buzzing noise, followed by a loud crying sound. The two bickered back and forth, one shoving the other hurriedly with its hands, while they fought over a small, pecked out crevice in the side of a oak tree. The Volbeat soared up, spun around, then rammed the small black-and-purple Pokemon with his head. The other Pokemon slipped off the thick branch it stood on. It’s hands shot out and grappled as the strange childlike Pokemon rolled off the side of the branch, just barely managing to dangle in the air. “This is my nest!” The lightning bug growled loudly, folding his arms over his chest. The childlike Pokemon clawed and kicked, struggling to crawl back up onto the branch. As soon as it managed to stand back up on the branch, the childlike Pokemon rushed after the lightning bug with a loud cry. “I need out of the rain!”They clashed again. This time, the Volbeat would manage to ram the Gothita in its side with his massive head and knock the other Pokemon out of the tree. Gothita tumbled to the ground below and fell in a dense thicket of tall wheatgrasses. It immediately hopped back on its feet and turned to the tree, running over to try and scale the impressive oak tree. The Volbeat sped back down after his opponent. He would try to pluck Gothita’s hands free of the tree’s rough bark as he tried to prevent the Pokemon from climbing back up into his nest. It wouldn’t be until the trainers disturbed them – by walking too close and stepping on some scattered branches, breaking them under their feet – that the two would spin around with a loud hiss. “HUMANS!” They both cried in unison. A Wild Gothita & Wild Volbeat appeared! Both Level 15. What will Astrid and Tyler do? Decide here. Shiny? tXzGh5d51-421-421-42·1-42

As the gothita turned around at volbeat's words, Rita and Silvia thought it all lost. Rita personally was sure the little young pokemon wouldn't have heard a word of what she had said and hoped it wouldn't struggle too much with the capture and life with humans. But then the gothita paused and asked them questions, Rita was so surprised she didn't know what to say. Silvia didn't have such qualms, "yes of course! Good trainers take good care of their pokemon, and the teams can be your friends who are protecting you against the ones who are mean!" It was enough to the Gothita who willingly let the pokeball hit it. "You don't know that," Rita said worried and Silvia said defensively, "a good trainer does take good care of their pokemon! And the ranger sounds like he worries a lot about it."They watched as the pokeballs did their work and caught the pokemon, Rita glanced at Tyler and his tough looking pokemon and felt bad for the volbeat, it had just been at the wrong place at the wrong time. Ramsey cheered and ran over to pick up the pokeball containing the gothita. "Success! Now let's get this to the Pokemon Center![/i] He declared eagerly and rushed to his stantler. "Didn't the ranger say that it was abandoned by a trainer? It sounded like it didn't know what it was all about," Silvia said worried and Rita shot a glance back at her but didn't say anything. "I hope he is telling the truth," Silvia said suspiciously and saw as he rode away not even waiting for Astrid. The old woman frowned confused before she began to gather her pokemon and be ready to leave as well. "Well young man, I'm glad we found a solution," Astrid said with a smile to the other trainer. She gestured to where Ramsey had disappeared, "I better follow him and get back to civilization," she said and hesitated a moment but decided that nothing she could say in parting words would make him change his look on life. She mounted Yakul and recalled most of her pokemon before she set off after the ranger. Wordcounts: 364 (ooc: moving gothita to Lei's box1) -Leaving for Majestic Grove-

As the battle came to a close and Astrid left the area Tyler felt that it was time for him to do the same. As he had no interest any longer in capturing the swarming Pokemon. He was still after two other Pokemon and as both just so happened to be in the same area he decided to slowly make his way to the Pine Gap. It would be quite a trek back through the forest but unlike the swarming Pokemon Tyler did not have to hurry. " Ok everyone we are leaving. Our next stop is the Pine Gap. We cannot get out of this part of the forest soon enough."OOC: Heading for the Majestic Grove. Adding Taillight to Tyler's PC. Arriving from the Putrid SwampEven though it was the middle of the day, Venom quickly noticed that it became darker and darker the further he ventured into the Twilight Glade. "Well, I can certainly see how this area got its name." Venom remarked to himself, but then came to a stop right in the center of the area. Before going any further, the Poison type trainer thought it best to heal both Skorupi and Whirlipede before going to face the evil spirit's boss in battle. So, he grabbed both of their Pokeballs, as well as two Super Potions from his bag, then let them both out. Naturally, even after getting some time to rest, both Pokemon were still reeling after their battle with the evil spirit known as Misdreavus. "Urgh...What is it this time, master? Another evil spirit?" Whirlipede asked Venom, as both he and Skorupi looked up at him and waited for an answer. "Not yet, but very soon, my friends. We still have the evil spirit's master to deal with, and if that Misdreavus is any indication, we're in for a heck of a battle. So, before that, I think you two could use these. Hold still." With one Super Potion in each hand, Venom knelt down in front of his two Pokemon, and sprayed both of them at the same time. Both Poison type Pokemon did as they were told and held still while their master administered one potion to each of them. Once the two Super Potions were empty, Venom got back to his feet, and placed the empty potions into his bag for proper disposal later on. As for his Pokemon, they both felt completely better after that, smiling big and jumping up and down a few times. "Wow! I feel so much better! Thanks, master!" Skorupi said to Venom, filled with nearly boundless energy after being completely restored. "Think nothing of it, my friends. We've always got each other's backs. You both know that." The ninja returned his Pokemon's smiles, glad to see that they were both feeling better. But then, out of nowhere, Venom lost his smile, gasped, and quickly turned around, suddenly sensing yet another ominous presence nearby. OOC: One Super Potion used on Skorupi, and another used on Whirlipede before Wandering Spirit encounter. Thanks.

A strange presence haunted the land, like a thick blanket being placed over the top to smother everything underneath. The air was densely packed. Wild Pokemon hid inside of the tall trees, hooting in soft voices. Large spiderwebs coated the branches, stretching out from one tree to the next. Though the webwork was spectacular and untouched, the craftsman that created the structure seemed to have long since abandoned it. Bright light illuminated the glade and twinkled in odd, rhythmic patterns. Though their lights seemed reminiscent of fireflies in the night skies, closer observations would leave only emptiness in their way – like invisible flashlights flickering off and on in a dying outlet. Still, something swooped through the trees and caused their large branches to buckle and sway from the effort. “Freeessshhhh blooooddd!” A strange voice called out in the distance. It wined like am ambulance siren and faded into the background as though it were rushing away. A powerful gust of wind slapped Venom in the back and would aim to wrap itself around the ninja and tighten its grip. The strength of the wind itself would slowly lift Venom up off the ground and allow his feet to dangle in midair only inches from the terrain underfoot unless he chose to fight back and prevent it. Whether he attacked or his Pokemon attacked, nothing would seem to come of it as the wind would just disappear, leaving a stale and stagnant atmosphere. Still, the lights glowed brightly and dimmed in random patterns, slowly jutting off deeper into the glade as they attempted to lure Venom further within its domain. Should he follow, they would lead him to a large clearing where several tall pine trees surrounded by wide oaks and sweeping willows clamored towards the heavens above. Their large canopies swelled out and wrapped around each other in a thick network of knotted vines and long limbs, completely blocking out the view of the skies above and creating a perpetually ‘nighttime’ atmosphere underneath their wake. “Ggiiiivvveeeee mmmmeeeee fllleeesssshhhh!” The voice called and a strange form flickered into existence before fading away. The doll-like apparition would seem to teleport into different areas as it cried out loudly and tried to snatch the sick and injured Pokemon. “I caaannnn taaastteeee swwweeeettt sssuuufffeeerrriiinnngggg!” It cried, appearing first in front of Venom, then above him, then it would appear behind him and sweep in fast to try and attack. Spirit Shuppet is attacking Venom! Level 17. What will Venom do? Decide here.

Even though the darkness faded away and Team Toxic won yet another battle, Venom was still forced to take a few moments to collect himself, needing to catch his breath after everything he had just seen in said darkness. And as he did, Venom once again found himself wondering just who or what he and his Pokemon were up against. Even though they succeeded in obtaining the Cleanse Tag, the whole situation seemed to just keep on getting worse and worse. Still, Venom kept in mind the fact that the same was probably true for the leader of these wandering spirits. After losing so many of their fellow evil spirits and trying so hard to scare Venom away, the ninja guessed that they must've been getting rather desperate. And even if this wasn't the case, Venom was still more determined than ever to see this mission through to the end and save the wild Chikorita.
Once the battle was over and the forest returned to normal, Venom, Skorupi, and Whirlipede watched the evil spirit fade away and listened to its last words. "Jeez...How many more of these ghosts are there?" Skorupi asked one of the many questions that was on the minds of the toxic trio, starting to get very tired of this whole situation. Before answering her, Venom narrowed his eyes and gave it some more thought, and this whole Shuppet encounter did well to further confirm the suspicions he had earlier. "Not very many, Skorupi. I'm almost positive of it. We're still in a hurry though. So, both of you return for now, but be ready to fight again very soon." Venom informed his Pokemon, called both of them back to their respective Pokeballs, then took off running one more time.
OOC: Venom heads for the Majestic Grove.

Coming from the Putrid Swamp...
Aphrodite inhaled then exhaled a deep breath, enjoying the fresher scent that the Twilight Glade had to offer her. The young Beauty Trainer was so relieved to be outside of the swamp. Despite the Twilight Glade being quite eerie itself, the frosted snow made everything seem a little bit more magical than any of the other areas of the forest.
"Let's hope that nothing too crazy happen here. I believe that we could use a break for once and without having to worry about one of those spirits finding us," Aphrodite mentioned underneath her breath a bit. As much as she would enjoy taking a break, she knew that she could not let her guards down just yet. She had to get the Chikorita to the Forest Shrine as soon as possible in order to get it cured from the curse.

During the warm spring and summer months, the glade was a beautiful meadow where Pokemon of all sorts gathered around and played in the wildflowers that bloomed across the grassy fields. Large trees swooped up from the forest floor in a large circle, entrapping most of the inhabitants within the glade’s beauty and wander where her large opening provided very little cover from their natural predator. In the winters months, however, the winds howled through the trees and swooped across the grounds as large piles of snow littered their long branches and dripped onto the grounds below. The once vibrant green sea of grasses were now all browned and brittle, mostly covered with snow. Something laughed in the air around Aphrodite and her team as it floated up high above the meadow. It looked like some strange doll or cloth with glowing yellow eyes that searched all around until they landed on their target – the strange girl with the wounded Chikorita. Sometimes trainers carried a strange tool that made this strange cloth nervous about fighting them. It cleansed the area of evil energy wherever they walked and made the Shuppet beyond angry with them when it attacked. Though it could tell that this girl didn’t have such a tool and that its leader – a ghostly figure with large red eyes, spiky ears, and sharp teeth – wouldn’t be lured out when the time came. Without this strange tag that cleansed the area, her leader would never be summoned. So try as they might even if they made it to the shrine, they wouldn’t be able to free the mystical time traveling Pokemon or help the sickly Chikorita. Just delightful! “You won’t be able to help your friend in this condition!” The Shuppet laughed and floated down dangerously close to Aphrodite. “Why don’t you just give it over to me? You think my leader will let you just challenge him? You’re missing anything that can help you cleanse our evil energies from the area! He’ll just laugh at you as you try your best. We’ll keep our time traveling friend trapped for eternity and laugh as Chikorita slowly expires in your arms! Did you really think it would be as easy as defeating all of us and going to the Shrine with nothing else to help you clear the air of our evil deeds? Hah!” The Shuppet laughed haughtily as it prepared to fight Aphrodite. An Evil Spirit appeared! Level 17 Shuppet. Decide what Aphrodite and her team will do here.

Now that the Shuppet had been defeated by Titania, Aphrodite could take a couple of minutes to gather her thoughts. The golden-haired beauty trainer had once thought that she was growing closer to curing the cursed grass-type Pokemon that she has been crying around for a few hours inside of her arms, but the last wandering spirit had informed her that she would not be able to help the Chikorita without first locating a mysterious item that will help her reveal the Pokemon responsible for the wicked curse. "Ugh, I can't believe that I overlooked this mysterious item. This is going to slow us down quite a bit... I suppose there's not much that we can do about it now other than retrace our steps," she stated, glancing down at her Pokemon.
"Chikorita, please hang in there a little bit longer," she spoke softly to the grass-type Pokemon. The grass-type Pokemon gave her a weak head nod before closing her eyes for a bit. "Okay, let's get going." She added walking into the direction of the Majestic Grove.

The last time Aphrodite and her Pokemon traveled through the Twilight Glade, A Shuppet informed them that they would not be able to defeat his "leader" without having a special item. Well, Aphrodite and her Pokemon had managed to find that "special item" and could now more forward towards the shrine.

-coming from putrid swamp-Even though she exited the stinky swamp, Penelope could still feel the rain pouring continuously on her. Her Skiddo, Bellsprout, and Azumarill followed, and they found themselves in an area where the trees were more dense than usual, but enough to let a little shimmer of light pass through. With her nose breathing happily again without the stench of stinky yucky nauseous air, she inhaled and exhaled deeply a few times to refresh her nostrils. Then, the Chikorita twitched and groaned again, reminding her mission. She walked slowly again as they kept an eye on the next unapologetic and rude ghost. -le wait ghost-
