Cutting through the bushes from Evergreen Glade.

After cutting his way through a particularly overgrown series of darkly green bushes, Joe gasped at the feeling of sunlight stroking his grubby cheeks. Widening his eyes and stumbling forward quickly, Joe had almost forgotten how nice the sun's touch was. Basking in its gentlee glow, he let out a huge comforted sigh. "I sure as hell missed this. Looks like we made it out finally! Hahahaha!" His laughter was riotous but he didn't care. He had finally made it out of Ilex. "I'm sure there's a lot more to that forest than meets the eye but maybe i'll uncover its secrets some other time. For now, I just wanna find a place to rest and indulge in some of the things i've heard about Goldenrod." Looking at the gates off in the distance, Joe made his way over to them at a slow pace.

Just as he reached the gates, he realised he could very well just open them but didn't quite see the fun in that. "Time to vault this baby." Stepping back a few paces, he charged forward with a jog and lobbed himself up the side of the brick wall. With a dexterous thrust forward with his upper limbs, he made it over the top and came landing down in a crouch. "Haha, perfect." Standing up, he felt his knees click unhealthily and wearily moaned. "Oh g'dammit... I am gonna pay for that one in the morning. I forgot I fell down a cliff." Limping off, it was unusual to see Joe in such a pathetic state. Perhaps his first port of call in Goldenrod would be to see a doctor.

Finally... finally at long last, she had done it! Nadia had finally done it! Though it may not be as glorious of an achievement as becoming Champion of the Pokemon League or something of the like, she had still managed to get through the Ilex Forest within a single day! But in all honesty, it felt like she had been in there for many, many months and she was tired. She wasn't the only one pooped from the journey, as Cheeky the Swellow was at well. So once the exit gate was within sight, Nadia called in her bird close.

"You've really done me a great favor, buddy," She said to Cheeky, wrapping her arms around him and giving him a hug. "I think that I can handle the rest from here. How about you go on back into your Pokeball and have yourself a good rest. If we make it to the Pokemon Center tonight, I'll call you back out and we can then have dinner. If not, we'll camp out and let you out when your supper is ready. Now, rest up."

Recalling Cheeky back in, Nadia slung her bag over her shoulder and reached for the gate. Up ahead, the forest had completely thinned out as there had been only a few trees on the road and much more proper walking path beyond. Further on down, the suburbs of Goldenrod City. And finally, it was time... time for the return to the big city!

Sandy finally reached the exit, and she could see the light streaming into the dense forest. She knew it way daytime, but it was more noticeable outside of the forest, where the sky was in clear view and not covered by as many trees as Ilex Forest was. Sandy held Darryl close to her, making sure that she stayed warm, and turned back to look at the forest behind her for a minute. She really had wanted to get out, but now that she was at the end, maybe she did wish that she had gotten to spend a little more time there.

“Good…I’ll get Darryl to the house and we’ll relax.” She promised herself. Sighing, she walked out onto the clear path, out of Ilex Forest.

As the trees parted around the duo and left all but a small hill to climb to reach the gate, Sharada couldnt help but just stand on the spot with a gleaming grin spread across her face. She had made it through the hellish area that was Ilex Forest and best of all, she made it through with the help of Bellatrix. Staring up at the colourful, sun setting sky, the brunette took a moment to turn and thank her partner properly. "You honestly did a great job helping me get through that placed Bellatrix. Thanks for keeping your cool and putting up with me. Heh, I owe you one." Stomping to view Sharada a little better, her armour plated beast glanced down at the female trainer, her eyes giving a sense of understanding rather than hatred. This was more than enough for Sharada, afterall, Bellatrix didn't need to say a word.

"Return for now. You have earnt a long rest. Dont worry, I can make it to Goldenrod just find on my own from here. Pretty soon we'll be in the Pokemon Center and you'll feel brand new. I promise." Nodding to one another, the Nidoqueen returned to her Pokeball with no resistance and was placed back on Sharada's holster. Easing her way up the small hill with her sore feet, the brunette pushed open the gate and took in a deep breath of the ocean air. Goldenrod was in clear view now and she had to admit, she couldnt fault it. Especially since it was right next to the ocean. Stretching her arms out into the air and letting out a tremendous yawn, the brunette wearily continued her venturing, now wanting to find the nearest place with a comfortable bed.

"Do mine eyes deceive me? FREEDOM!"

Tanya almost sank to her knees at the sight of the gate that led to a tree-less route down to Goldenrod. She was so sick of the endless trees, and her legs screamed in protest at more exertion. Saphira panted beside her, entirely worn out from the time they'd spent in the forest. "Thank you Saphira. I think I would have gone insane had you not kept me company," Tanya breathed, recalling the smiling dragon.

She leaned against a tree to gather herself, dreading having to walk even more. However, her desire to get out of this forest proved stronger, and with a groan the auburn-haired girl moved forwards, trotting towards the gate. It opened easily with a faint creak, meaning it had been kept in excellent condition. Breathing in sea-scented air, Tanya headed on towards Goldenrod, eager to kick up her feet and sleep for a week.

Came in from the Evergreens

I'm gonna eat the biggest meal I can find. And then kick up my feet. Sleep forever. Snuggle with you guys. Take some pictures. Sleep. Eat more. Yup. Justin grinned, stepping out of the forest and into the grassy plain that stood waiting at the end of Ilex. He hadn't dabbled or wasted any time inside the forest, thank goodness. Goldenrod was just up ahead. Ya know? Even though I HATE big cities... Kinda lookin' forward to gettin' there. I'm so tired... He murmured, looking down at Simba and Capona. Both nodded, amused at their trainer.

Capona needed a rest, so she returned to her Pokeball for a bit of rest while Justin and Simba travelled in the dark towards the bustling city. The lights were all on, and even though it was dark there was still the sound of people and things. Pokemon even. Even though the Aussie HATED cities, this wasn't going to be too bad. Hopefully he wouldn't have to exhaust himself every time he was to go to a big city. Otherwise, he might have to rethink this whole traveling trainer thing. Steaks for everyone tonight! he grinned, clicking his heels before running towards the city.

FREAKIN DONE

Dashing through the large metal gates and directly down the forest path, the rain overhead seemed to gradually grow lighter until finally fading into nothing. The hastily dashing Yojimbo suddenly grinding his feet to a halt, turned to see if Sharada was okay, his mouth nattering quickly as he captured his breath back. Things were a bit more severe for Sharada, her whole torso hunched forward as she gasped and wheezed for breath painfully, wrapping her arm around her waist whilst the other slumped against her knee, shaking as it struggled to keep hold of the Pokeball holding her newly caught Ponyta. Falling to her knees in a weakened slump, Yojimbo shrieked and rushed to her side, holding the fallen girl by her shoulders, trying to keep her upright.

For the longest time the two just sat there, Sharada resting her head against Yojimbo's, often flinching at the sound of thunder still rumbling off in the distance. It seemed her fear had taken hold of her a bit firmer than she first anticipated. It was a slow process but the brunette found her voice once more, temporarily releasing her grasp on the ball holding Ponyta and just clung hold of Yojimbo. "Thanks Yojimbo. If it weren't for you, I would still be out there.." A quiet, out of breath voice trickled out, a smile appearing soon after as the otter patted at her cheeks playfully. "I'm sorry if you were hurt out there, buddy. I just hate-eeAAHH!" Squeezing him as yet another blast from outside rumbled, she retrieved Ponyta's ball and pocketed it before standing back up. Casting her gaze along the path ahead, she nodded down to Yojimbo, "We'll go in a bit further, atleast until the storm dies down."

So, why exactly had they been forced to wake up close to the middle of the night just to travel through the forest? Wasn't it at all dangerous? Well, she supposed that she and Spirit (even if reluctant) could protect Sandy if she got into any trouble, but she was still tired, and slightly irritable after being woken up so abruptly. She stopped when Sandy did, watching her trainer stare into the next leg of the woods. <<Sandy?>> She mewled groggily, trying to catch the young blonde's attention with a soft nudge to her leg. Sandy turned and knelt to the ground, scratching behind one of Muru's ears and earning a soft purr from the velvet creature. "Sorry you girls. I don't know what it is, but it's like something in this forest is calling to me. It seems like something's wrong." Berry lifted her head halfway. <<Wrong?>> she parroted, her tired voice ringing clear as she struggled to wake up further. "Wrong. And I want to find out what it is." Sandy stood up and continued walking. Muru turned her head to exchange a worried glance with Berry before bounding after her, the leaves on the floor rustling under her paws. --Moving to Evergreen Range--

Picking up their paces, the brunette and her Dewott really sped up their walk as the exit of Ilex stood proud at the top of the slope. Having lingered in there for so long to avoid the rain, it was a real relief to know they could step back outside once more. "Finally made it Yojimbo! And whats more, look how nice and clear the weather is!" Grinning at the sky above before checking down on Yojimbo, she noticed the little otter was rearing to head to the city for a nice fish dinner. Leaning forward and scooping him up in her arms, the brunette grinned at his excitement, "Then let's go! I'll hold you like this to cover up the R on my uniform.. Or maybe I can find some place to change. Blah, blasted Rockets." Stepping forward to the exit with her Dewott held in her arms like some sort of baby, the usually tough and protective type appeared to enjoy such attention.

Waltzing up the path and nudging open the iron gate with her foot, the brunette squeezed herself through the gap before closing it behind her. Taking in the scent of the sea once more, her eyes passed over the route and remained on the tall buildings in the distance. It was time for a nice meal!

Making way from Evergreen Glade.

This was it. The end of a perilous journey through a myriad, cursed forest. Seeing the forest subside as he stepped on even further, it was a reassuring sight to behold a pair of lofty gates keeping the sprawling reach of nature at bay. Beyond this lie civilisation. Taking in the sight and savouring them, Tobias had definitely reached his goal and before winter itself had set. Quite an achievement. Taking out a Pokeball from his jacket, he focused it at Charon. "Return." Given he had no idea whether the plan involving the ghost would work, Tobias was content that the plan had succeeded. It appeared the Duskull would have numerous uses and applications in the future. "Very well, master." Bowing as the light from the Pokeball enveloped him, Charon returned to the Pokeball peacefully. Placing it away, Tobias straightened up his tie as he looked onwards as the path gently snaked towards the exit. Following it forward, he raised his hand up against the prominent forest gate. Constructed from wrought iron and sporting an intricate design over its bars, they parted ways and opened up the route before him to Goldenrod. It was almost as if they signified the opening of a chapter in his tale.

At the forest exit Marchbaby and his Pokemon yawned after such an exhausting journey through the forest which had been quite an adventure to say the least. After going through everything they did they were ready to get some sleep as soon as they reached Goldenrod as they were completely exhausted. At the edge of the forest there was a sign that said " Route 34" in black which was a sight for sore eyes. They were just a short walk away now from getting some rest before continuing on with their journey.

Feeling the sun light touch her skin, Catherine wore a smile equally as radiant to the shining sun as the gate which led to Goldenrod appeared before her. "We... We MADE IT!!" Cheering victoriously, the group made their way to the large iron gate and with a hefty push, Atlas parted it open. Stepping forward with both Atlas and Ochu by her side, Catherine turned once again, to take a final look at both Ilex and her two wild companions. "Bouffalant, Eevee. Thank you for keeping us all company! I didn't expect you to come this far with us but now, you can go back to your normal lives!" Although saying that with her usual, carefree and innocent smile, Catherine didn't really know where either of the Pokemon came from. They were hardly the types to live in such an area, let alone the region. They were both so unusual species wise and the fact they were together, with one injured, was even more suspicious. Were they really just living casually in Ilex Forest?

Despite her farewells, however, the Bouffalant didn't budge and inch and even the Eevee had emerged it's head. Both staring ahead at Catherine, they seemed to read each other's minds as without even a second thought, the bull stepped forward, eyeing Catherine suggestively. "Hmm?" Coming closer rather than backing off and going back into the wilderness, Catherine begun to understand but perhaps for the wrong reasons. Lifting both of her hands, she placed them on each of the Pokemon's heads respectively. "I get it! Do you wanna come along with me? Do ya have the same exploring instinct I have and ya just wanna see the world?" Placing both of her hands on her waist, she bellowed a laugh, "Why didn't you say so sooner? I already say we are the best of friends! This way, I can keep a close eye on your injury and feed you all the sweets you like!" Feeling a slight bit of drool exit it's mouth, the Eevee shook it's head and glanced away shyly, receiving a laugh or two.

"But, if you're gonna come along with me, I'll need to give you both names!" Looking between the Pokemon, she firstly settled on Bouffalant, "How about Kiki? It is a cute name for a cute girl!" Knowing the entire time that the bull was female, she closed her eyes and nodded her large head in agreement. "As for you, how about Juris? Sounds like a cool name for a cool Pokemon, right?" Wriggling her eyebrows suggestively, the Eevee twitched his ears but didn't disagree. "Then, Kiki and Juris!..." Stepping to the side, she stretched her arm towards Goldenrod, "Let's begin our adventure together. Be careful Goldenrod, here we come!!"

FINALLY, after a variety from spectrum of greens and some browns behind him, Ethan seemed to be finally getting out of the forest. He finally saw the end of the trees, where there were no more trees behind the end of forest. Finally relieved that he was out of here, now he just needed to make sure that he was going on the right direction toward Goldenrod. However, he already have a smile lit on his face before confirming, because he felt so relieved, and also dreaded going to this maze ever again.

As if by luck, Alex had found the exit of the forest. He mumbled a cheer for himself as he walked a bit faster toward the exit. He still have a short stretch of road to go, but he could finally rest in Goldenrod City for a bit! The city have so much to explore, and he would have to look through all of the Goldenrod City to find interesting things! Perhaps they have a big library there? or book stores with more books for him to read? Oh, and he would need to find out about that one Pokemon too!
