Evergreen to Exit!
I did all 400's for my precious egg T.T
dear god so glad to be free
| | Coming in from Evergreen Ares's hooves clattered against the rocks below as he picked up speed, chest heaving with every breath he took. The night air was crisp and Tyrana was struggling to keep up before Rhoan eventually just had to return the Charmeleon instead of leaving her out in the night by herself. Once the Tauros had a plan, it was best to just go with it and wait until he calmed down. The gate, the glorious exit, was in sight. Rhoan remembered a few travellers signing a paper about liability and whatnot when she was wandering into the forest, and also recording that they was going in, so would she have to do the same going out? Her mind already swam with the plans she had for Goldenrod (drinks were definitely about to happen, thank Arceus) but if she had to abide by the rules she was going to have to sneak out from somewhere other than this gate. There was probably a posted official there just to make sure people exited safely, or to record who was out so they could search through Ilex in the morning. "Whoah cool it, Ares. Hold on." Rhoan lowered herself from the agitated bull who was more than ready to progress to Goldenrod without his trainer stopping said progress. "We didn't sign that stupid form or book, they're gonna make us if we go out that gate. We've gotta find another spot." She whispered, quickly leading the bull off path. There seemed to be a gate that went around the majority of what Rhoan could see, but unlike that tree situation where Ares wouldn't have been able to jump without injury, Rhoan could see what was on the other side. A large, grassy plain that led to Goldenrod. "We're gonna jump it. C'mon." Rhoan lowered herself closer to Ares's back, bracing herself for the act. The bull found a decent spot out of eyeshot of the place where the book would have to be signed, and began to charge forward. At the last second (almost enough to make Rhoan worry about clearing the fence) Ares jumped, his powerful legs kicking them off the ground and over the metal fence. He landed without much clatter, scattering a bit of dust before turning towards the city. "We've made it. Good bye, awful forest." Rhoan spat for good measure before guiding Ares towards Goldenrod. "Finally..!" A wash of relief overwhelmed Damien as he spotted the open foliage and clearly marked exit of the forest ahead. It actually looked like the clouds had begun breaking up by this point, leaving Goldenrod lighting up the sky in a beacon of hope. The way the light shone off the hanging whiffs of drab grey it was undeniable he had emerged where he wanted to be, as Azalea wouldn't put out nearly that much light pollution. A new uneasiness began welling inside him. The sort of shy discomfort of being in an unknown element. The ranger had never been in a place so big as Goldenrod was talked as being. [break][break]
He'd have to get to that when he got there. The young lad broke into a jog for the gate, the slosh of the ground squelching underneath each footfall as he traversed the recently rained area. The thought of a nice warm place to stay made the oncoming chill less biting and was even so relieving that the realization that the sun had disappeared below the horizon didn't dawn on him as he fled the border of Ilex. No doubt something that may come to him later on. For now though he would enjoy the freedom from the wood, making a weary hustle up the route between the massive forest to the grand city. Thankfully there were patrolmen along it, making it rather easy to make a safe journey along the path and avoid any wild encounters. Something he was sure his two paralyzed pokémon would appreciate. [break][break]
They all deserved a good long rest tonight.

OOC: Coming from the Evergreen Range, leaving the forest.
IC:
Tyler approached the gatehouse filled with enthusiasm knowing that the nightmare was over. It was an awful trip that took far longer than he had anticipated but it was finally over. The route up ahead would take them to the golden city where Tyler could reach headquarters to see if they had a mission for him and also relax for a bit after their long journey. Mania could no longer feel the presence of the forest guardian as they walked through the gates but it did not matter now that Ilex had nothing else to surprise them with. It would not be long now before they would reach Goldenrod.
" Now that we are out of the forest we should have no trouble getting to Goldenrod. Isabella had better prove useful to us later on after that nightmare. I hope Goldenrod does not have as many tricks. I am the only one who had better perform tricks for quite some time." Höllenhund was by far the most greatful to be done with the whole ordeal as his legs were killing him. The hellhound needed a nap after all of this and he intended to hit the floor as soon as they got to headquarters. He could not even think straight due to the pain as he followed Tyler hoping the rest of the trip would not take long.
Tyler thought it was funny for a hellhound to complain about walking so much as he was able to use all four legs instead of Mania's two. " Höllenhund do not be a baby about it, do you see Mania complaining about walking? She can only use half as many lehgs as you and you have been the one complaining the whole way. Suck it up and let's get out of here." With that the group looked for a sign to see which way to head to Goldenrod, it did not take long at all for a map to tell them to head due north anfd they were glad to see how close it was to them after all this time. He could hardly wait to see the skyline of the crown city of Johto.
" The city should be just ahead of us, we should start to see the skyline as soon as we reach the small building up ahead." As they reached the small building on the righthand side of thenroute they could see the legendary skyline and Tyler ran towards it ready to explore the city after all this time.

((Coming from evergreen range)) Just as Ororo was about to give up and take a nap on the floor, she witnessed something that appeared in the deep, dark forest lane ahead. “What is that ahead there?” She asked her Polipop, but he continued walking. Hopefully he knows what he’s doing, surely he’d never lead me towards danger. She hoped that whatever it was, was a good thing. As they rose near, she noticed that it appeared to be a large opening in the shrubbery. “I hope this doesn’t lead to another location…” She said, unsure of whatever this was. Polipop shook his head no, yet continued walking. “Wait… is this the exit out of the forest?” She asked. He nodded yes. “Oh thank Arceus. I thought we’d never get out of here.”
As they walked out of the massive arch, she smiled at Polipop. “You’re really good at navigating! Who would’ve thought that a water Pokemon could weave his way through this grass filled asylum.” He smiled gratefully at her, happy to be of help. His kings rock looked very cute atop his head. After that, the two continued walking, leaving the trodden bath behind them. They set their sights on Goldernrod City, Ororo could see the tops of the lit up buildings from here. Finally, he was close enough to confirm his theory. The fog lifted just enough to reveal a gateway that led to Route 34 which would lead him to Goldenrod City. "Look! That's the way out!" He began to speed up, using whatever energy he had remaining. By now, it was evening time. They'd spent the entire day wandering through the forest.
Andrew was certain there were plenty of areas that he'd neglected to explore. But that was for another brighter, clearer day. As he approached the gate, he looked back on his time in the forest. He remembered searching for Sylvester's Farfetch'd that morning, although it seemed like an eternity ago now. The only thing he really wondered about was the shrine that he'd passed. Maybe he could ask someone for some information on it.
He took a deep breath as he exited the open gate; a typical goto for whenever he finished an exhausting task. "We did it, Yael. I can't believe we're finally out of there!" The Lopunny clapped her hands and cheers. "I can't wait to check out Goldenrod City." The excitement showed on his face. Goldenrod was of course the largest city in whole region. He could only take this to mean that there would be lot to do there. It would be a welcomed change from tiny town of Azalea.

--Entering from Evergreen RangeAs the continued the forest slowly opened up more and more, thinning out and becoming less wild and confusing. The path also widened and while it clearly wasn't used much it was grown with grass now instead of shrubbery and brambles. "I think I see light between the trees!" Astrid said, "Although it is rather orange, I think it is getting late."Hector woke up from his gloom and looked around hopefully, then he ran forward with Raticate and Pidgeotto rushing after him. "Yes! I think you are right! Oh I'd love to be out today! Do you think that will happen?" He blabbered and looked nervously at Astrid who chuckled and agreed she hoped that too. Leafeon lifted her head and her ears too, hope shining through her eyes lit up at the thought of being out of this horrible forest. She eyed weepinbell who was lacking behind and with a hard swallow she made her way over to it. Astrid held her breath and clenched her hand hoping things would turn out well, it was good that Leafeon had the guts to do something about the situation when Hector and the other pokemon didn't. Weepinbell looked visibly distressed when Leafeon made his way over, and it looked helplessly after the two other on the team wishing they would come over and help it. Leafeon saw it all and her ears drooped a bit but she continued determined. "Hi," she said hesitantly and walked at its side for a bit in silence after Weepinbell had returned the greeting. "How.. how are you feeling?" It asked nervously and she shook it a pleasantly surprised glance, which made it relax a bit. "Alright I guess," she answered with a shrug, "but I have a question," she added with a quick glance at it, and tension rose again. "Mhm?" Was the only thing Weepinbell managed to get out to let her know she could continue. He looked desperately ahead and silently tried to force his two comrades to come back and help him. "I wondered why you didn't come over to see how I was doing," Leafeon said in a whisper and Weepinbell closed it eyes as the dreaded question came. It stopped as it searched for words. "I.. I.. we.. we were a bit occupied with Hector I guess," it said with a grimace that showed it found the answer really bad. A swoop of feathers and Pidgeotto landed on Leafeon's other side. "It was a mistake on our side and I'm really sorry," The bird said with an intently look on the grass type, she nodded to acknowledge his mistake. "But why? I thought we were a team and we should help each other," she continued. "We are! We just.." Weepinbell began and trailed off, Pidgeotto's face darkened. "We are just not used to have others than each other to look after, I'm afraid it didn't cross our minds," Pidgeotto said honestly and Leafeon got a pained look. "So I'm not a part of the group," she said quietly and Pidgeotto snapped its head around to look at her. "Of course you are! You just haven't been around for so long and it takes time.." It began but Leafeon just shook her head and left them, returning to her place beside Yakul again with drooping ears and dragging tail. Astrid exhaled and looked sadly at the pokemon, the trust had been broken and they hadn't managed to mend it again. It would take a long time, the evolution had happened at the worst time, and neither reaction had helped at all. "Look Astrid! It is the way out! I can see the gate!"[/i] Hector called out excitedly and he and Raticate rushed off to the gates in the distance. Astrid watched him resigned, it didn't look like he wanted to try work on things with his Leafeon and that it very hard. Wordcount: 652 --Leaving the forest--

Feeling the padded ground of the wilds felt good beneath his feet. The fresh air, complete with a mild breeze to provide a break from the warm rays, was so light in his lungs. The city could never compare. After being so long amidst the maze of streets in preparation for his latest league badge the towering trees of Ilex were a vacation; though many would disagree. But the brief memory of that hazy forest shrine was no where near the top of his mind as he continued through the mouth of the ancient forest.
At his heels was his faithful hound. Booker was prodding along at his side, nose deep in tufts of fallen needles and brush as they passed them. "I'm going to be relying on you to get us back here, kay boy?" chuckled the young ranger. His herdier made a gruff huff, mustache wriggling, before dipping his sleuthing nose back to the ground and skipping forward a few steps. Damien watched the dark tailed dog's tail wag intermittently with pleasure.
The boy pushed his wide brimmed hat down securely on his head and took another deep breath. "Now..." he mumbled to himself, taking a look at the available paths to him. When the day started he wasn't sure what he was going to accomplish. Though, spying a wanted notice for one of the nearby swarms had caught his attention and it just so happened to be a route that would take him most of the way back to his mom and brother.
"Keep that nose primed for anything that may smell like a campfire Booker. We're tracking one of those wildcats," he instructed. Where were they though? Ilex was huge. Damien checked the time on his pokégear. It was a bit too early to check the radio show. He kept walking, instead pulling up his compass app to keep a heading. Things always got a bit weird here, his GPS already flaking out on him even just at the Goldenrod entrance. He just hoped they wouldn't reach a crossroads before the time came for Professor Oak's show.

Coming from the Evergreen Range
The light Kevin saw grew brighter he knew the exit had to be right up ahead. As he reached the next area and saw a sign saying Goldenrod was right down the next route he ran as fast as he could hoping to be in the city before nightfall.

It had taken Astrid several days to get over her nightly adventure and it hadn't helped that the local station wanted a full report on what had happened with the sudowoodo in the berry orchards and they at first wanted her to start a full investigation of the salandit's former trainer when they learned from it that it had been abandoned. She had managed a report in a couple of days and had straight out told the Chief that she didn't had the energy to do the salandit investigation but that she was willing to help with anything she could, he had begrudgingly accepted and put another on the task but asked her to keep hold of it for now. She had finally gotten a few days of rest, but then she had been contacted and asked to help a Ranger who had heard about an abandoned pokemon in Ilex, and Astrid had some knowledge of the labyrinth kind of forest, so she had agreed to help him. "Here we are," Astrid said as she managed to get a word in and showed the way through the gates into the dense forest. --moving on to Evergreen Range--

Maxwell king » Word Count: OOC: Coming from Evergreen Range and out of Ilex Forest! The exit was in plain sight now, much to Max's delight as the brightness of the non-forest world shone a path for him to follow. The final giveaway that signaled their journey through the maze that was Ilex Forest was over was a sign that indicated Goldenrod City was beyond the next route.
"Well that was some type of experience if I do say so myself, don't want to be doing that again anytime soon"
While the time spent in the forest had aided Max's team in growing in size and experience, the male young adult was well and truly over it, the gleam of the journey had worn off some time ago. Max and Crimson walked out of the Ilex Forest together and made their way onto the Route that lie ahead of them, unbeknownst to the challenges or surprises that may face them ahead.

-coming from Evergreen Range- "There's the exit!" Astrid said, breaking the silence which had run through them for a couple of hours. "It is," Ramsey said relieved and nudged Stantler to pick up speed, "it will be good to get it to the Pokemon Center and checked over.""What are the plans after that?" Astrid asked and Ramsey patted the stantler absentminded. "Depends on how its faring, but when we're sure its healthy we most often find them a new home. It can be with a trainer if they like that, or else we find some other solution," he said. "I'm glad I could help find it," Astrid said and the two smiled to each other and rode through the gates to the forest. -leaving Ilex-

Coming from the Evergreen Range.
As Tyler reached the exit of the forest he could hardly wait to leave. It was super dark out and with few light sources outside of the forest gate he would have quite a hard time finding his way towards Goldenrod in the dark. The only good thing was the skyscrapers would help light the way so long as his vision was not obscured.
OOC: Tyler leaves the forest.

Arriving from the Evergreen RangeThe closer Venom got to Goldenrod City, the clearer the sights and sounds of it became. And by this point, Venom could even start to smell it. Although he greatly preferred the comforts of nature over any manmade structure, the ninja couldn't wait to finally enter the city and begin his search for his new friends and teammates. He had been making plans for this day before he even started his journey through Johto, and now that it was finally within his grasp, he was more ready than he had ever been over the course of his entire journey so far. The Poison type trainer was so excited when he saw the gate that he didn't even bother opening it, and simply jumped over it from yet another tree branch, landing safely on the ground on the other side. Once that was done, Venom looked up and saw Goldenrod City in full view, with a big smile still present upon his face. "Poison type Pokemon, here comes Team Toxic!" Venom declared, then ran full speed towards the city. Or more specifically, the route that laid just before it. OOC: With that, Venom finally leaves the Ilex Forest.

The nightmares that ensnared Ilex held their own quiet mysteries and lingered behind the ebony trainer and her ragtag team of misfits. She pushed and prodded through dense foliage that sprang back at her and smacked her against her, cutting into the rough denim fabric wrapped around her legs and scratching against the delicate flesh on her arms. Crimson bubbled up from the superfluous scratches in small dots along her ebony tone, to which Mishu pulled a small cloth from her bag and gently dabbed them away with a soft grumble.
Ducks wandered in wayward directions from the youngster whose father sent him into the dangerous forest along to collect fresh wood for kindling. Their loud quacks echoed like a dull and dying memories, who flames only burst to life when the sounds of other avian creatures lit up the air around them. Mishu half-smiled, realizing the worst of her journey only began in efforts to help reunite Sylvester with his wily flock of brown feathered mischief-makers. Were they listening properly now, given the circumstances she’d left them in upon dropping them off at his feet?
Long shadows hissed with laughter and seemed to hide glowing eyes somewhere in their midst. Mishu pressed onward through the dense foliage on her aching feet, quietly reassuring herself that it was just her mind playing tricks on her in the still of the night-like atmosphere under the dense canopies above, whose long, thick branches snaked around each other like mazes high above their heads. Apparitions bumped quietly within the populated woods, lurking just beyond the evergreens behind Mishu’s back in ambitious hopes to steal away the souls of the unsuspecting. She’d managed to thwart most of their efforts off with the help of her companions, but shuddered quietly in an unrealized fear that they may still be lurking somewhere within the densely packed and expansive Ilex Forest.
A gate stood at the end of their trek, pushed slightly ajar from the previous traveler who’d finally made their way through the dark and mysterious forest behind them. She smiled as she released a soft sigh relief. Finally, the long journey would find its end, and she could check into a hotel for the time being. A bath! Hot water running over herself with suds foaming on top of a small piece of cloth, reaching all the places where the dirt and debris from her arduous trek stubbornly clung to her, seemed like just a dream in the quiet depths of Ilex not so long ago. And here, among the towering buildings and bustling streets just mere steps away from Mishu’s reach, they were slowly becoming a reality. She raced through the gates with arms outstretched as she slowly realized - even as an avid researcher – how much she missed some of the simplest treasures in life that society afforded.
