So a few of us have been hovering around the thought of having threads were trainers can post with each other. These will not be the basis of the site, but a fun little thing we can do on the side when we can't do Story / RP mode for whatever reason (like now, with Oak away). This would give us something to do, and would not need moderation - giving ours busy mods a break.
I find this inevitable anyways. For trainer vs trainer battles and for other things. Personally, I enjoy the thought of this.
Thoughts? Does anyone agree?

you know my opinion (FOR THE LULZ!) I'm up for it... Imean it's no fun to have a character who is afraid of girls and is bullied by them if there is no one to take advantage of it . It's a good idea and as long as we don't try to catch pokemon or gain levels without his moderation there is no reason that Prof would not like this idea. I really would like to get to know the members of this site more by interacting with them.

Muahahaha you read my thoughts xD No really, I read your profile (because I wasn't sure what to put in mine and I needed an example xD) and I thought: Let's scare the living daylight out of him! muahahaha *insert evil laugh here* But seriously: I think at some point there will be more interaction between characters, and the mods will only be helping the newbies out. I mean, when a couple of characters meet, and decide to travel together, the only thing the mods will have to do is leading the battles and deciding what Pokémon would appear. Which is now a major thing, but will be a little smaller when we can interact with each other and have conversations etc. without battles involved. (Less work for the mods would not be too bad; school is killing me!) *information/opinion overload*

Now see, there's something I never thought of. Traveling groups, similar to the ones in the TV / Anime. To be honest, this sounds like a phenomenal idea to me, and I think this is how we could start 2 v 2 battles! I'd love to find a few people to run around with. Hell, imagine getting to the later stages of this, like the Elite Four or Red, with people by your side. Something like this is what I came here looking for.
I am 110% for this.
Oh and
I think I need to read your profile, but if you're of a decent age, ohhhh the fun we shall have.....

Perfect. I didn't want to be picking on some 12 year old, being in my early twenties. Impending doom indeed. xD

Heh, I think we have enough people to be running around with more than one group now. Groups shouldn't be more than 3 people - trust me, I do a lot of RPing, and on a site that doesn't have constant activity, any more would make it intolerably slow.
Also, this is just my opinion again, but I think we should signal that it's a thread just for trainers to RP in by putting this at the end of the thread name.
Thread name (T)
I guess if we can get the green light from the Almighty Professor, I'll open the first thread for trainers.

Gee, it looks like I've missed out on a lot of things! XD Yes! YES! YESSS! This has definitely been one of the things I've been trying to add to this site for ages but I've always been stuck for ideas on how it'll work. Initially, I thought of there being 2 people travelling together but this idea of a travelling group really opens up a new window of possibility! Here's some of my ideas on this so far. Firstly, I like the idea of threads not needing moderation (as it would mean less work for me but I think it'd be even better if these kind of threads did have some real effects (i.e. catch pokemon and gain levels) and I'm starting to get an idea of how this can be done. I think the player interaction and battling could be separated but still linked together. Here's what I mean: At one thread, say there are 5 characters travelling with each other. They can socialise, interact or bully each other (as the case may be ) as much as they want. They can post freely without needing to post in order or wait for someone who hasn't posted in a while. Then say a Pokemon attacks one of the characters, there will be a link to a separate battling thread where the character can finish off the battle and return to the group straight after it's done. The others can give encouragement (or abuse) to the person battling the mod-controlled pokemon in the group thread and the person can talk back as well but the battling thread will only be 1vs1 or 2vs2 without too much outside interference. I'll try and make an example of this so it's a bit clearer but tell me what you think of this idea.

I did understand your example perfectly, but I can see where others will be confused. I'd just like to offer my deepest warning about larger groups. Seriously. <_<;;
Off to start the thread in Cherrygrove, for anyone who wishes to take a look!

I think we can give larger groups a go for now. I'm hoping with the way that I've suggested, it won't be as slow or confusing as battling and interacting are separated slightly.
I also think there needs to be a group registration kind of thing. I don't want it to be anything strict but it'll just be so that people can introduce themselves and so that others know who are in their group. I know that some people might feel uncomfortable with just barging into someone's thread so this can be a more polite way of asking whether they can join.
Also, the group leader (the person looking for people) can specify how many people they want in the group (in your case no more than 3).
I'll create this as a sub-board at the moderation center.
