Oh, you don't include Team Meanies from the PMD games? *pouts*
Fine, Rocket. Plus I never heard of Team Galaxy. I heard of Team Galactic though. X)

Team what now? Sorry, i've not really played through those games and... Well... They're not exactly human. Urk... I messed up. I think I was getting confused with the Japanese version of the name: Galaxy Gang. I shall have to see if I can mop mistake up.

Actually, Gengar, leader of Team Meanies, did used to be human. X) ...WHAT A TWEEST. I should've know that was going to happen. Does Team Meanie exist in all the PMD games or is it just the first two that got released?

Voted for Galaxy. While I do enjoy Rocket's antics, they remind me a lot of small town criminals who often aren't organized enough to aim really big even when they've got everything at their disposal. And when they do strike gold, they fall flat over and over and...over again. Nonetheless, I do enjoy them since they represent originally the dark, mob underworld of Pokemon. Cosa Nostra indeed.
Galaxy on the other hand is another animal all together. Their end goal is more than just money or millions of Monpokes, and it's completely terrifying, especially putting into context of how realistic the mindset is to brainwashed religious cults and what not. They know what they're doing, they know how to get what they want, and Cyrus is like a colder Jim Jones who just fed his followers a huge tankard of hypnotic Kool Aid. And they threatened to freaking bomb Cynthia's hometown AND did so at that lake near pastoria. Far more ruthless and sinister than selling Slowpoke tails, stealing fossils or playing weird suggestive radio signals.

Far more ruthless and sinister than selling Slowpoke tails, stealing fossils or playing weird suggestive radio signals. Actually, it Poison Flavorade. 900 or so people in the cult drank it and died. While, I respect that Galactic has bigger goals, I find the whole cult thing creepy. Team Rocket, on the other hand, is a criminal orginazation. They're criminals, pure and simple. They dont have a clear set of goals, and that's what makes them dangerous. They will do ANYTHING just to make money. You never know where Team Rocket will strike next, or what they'll do. You wont even know WHY they're doing it. And even then, Team Rocket's goals arent out of hatred or spite for anyone. it's just buisness. And dont even get me started with Giovanni. He's just a pimp. And, Galactic, MAgma, And Aqua dont have THE MOTTO. You know what I'm talking about. Before Team Rocket became a Joke in the anime, the first time you saw that, was that no the most badass thing you;d ever seen/heard? You're damn right it was.

Meka, I do know it was poison. I just changed the degree of liquid sinister to suit the case as Cyrus while having yet to murder any of his compatriots (I think..) would probably do so in the blink of an eye if situation called for it. Don't get me wrong, I love Giovanni, which is more or less actually the point; It's like trying to discuss who's the more effective Disney villian; Scar or Frollo, with Scar being Gio and Frollo being Cyrus (who to a degree, wants to 'cleanse' his world too) Everyone loves the pimpin' devil that Scar is, but if you want real blackhearted villiany, you go for the creepy. You go for heartlessness. You go for things bigger than money or kingdoms. Everyone can forgive a little land-robbing, a little mugging, but no one can say yes to genocide or wanton killing, which in the manga Cyrus seems to allude to wanting to do if that was what it took to see him to the end of his goal. Real villians are humans too; They have reasons for what they do, which again, Cyrus has and Giovanni doesn't, and as for money, that's because Cyrus doesn't want or need it, or he already has what he needs in that division. His goals are *way* bigger* than just earthly financing. Also, mottos are overrated. You want enemies to be shivering at your name, either stick with Cosa Nostra or don't. Team Rocket's been a joke for me (except for Giovanni) ever since I razed through the game, so the anime just made things that much worse for 'em On the good side, it's not hard to see a TR member as an interesting anti-hero. On the bad side, it decreases the villiany level by quite a bit. For cool evil, I'd go for Rockets. For the sort of evil that has me up in my bed thinking about waking up the next day a soulless drone with nothing to my memory, I'd got for Galaxy. Plus, they had a way cooler base. I'd love to see a David Xanatos-like villain in he games one day actually, which would be a guy who melds Giovanni's cool ruthlessness and Cyrus' creepy, larger-than-life goals. Could be too complicated for the game though.

But, the cool villains are the ones people will join purposely. Like me, for example. I wanted to make my char a Team Rocket member. He WANTED to become a Team Rocket Member. To me, that's better than brainwashing, becasue it's MORE than it. To get someone to obey you is one thing, but to get them to admire you is something else entirely.
To use another example, let's take the Empire from Star Wars. They have all the cool weapons and tech (Death Star, Star Destroyers,AT-AT walkers) and better outfits than the Rebellion. I have always wanted to go as a Stormtrooper for Halloween, but I never found an actuall costume. In most Star Wars Games, when it give you an option to play as the Empire, I pick the Empire. They're evil and have crossed the Moral Event Horizon dozens of times, but I still want to be them, regardless.
And Giovanni has the most human of all reasons: Greed! Team Rocket seeks to make a profit at any cost. And as for MAss Genoicde, what do you do when there's no one left to kill? Nothing! On the otherhand, theres always money to be gained and a profit to be had!
Speaking of results, Let's Talk about Frollo and Scar again. Which of his goals did Frollo really accomplish within the scope of the movie? As I Recall, none. He does, however unleash possibly the greatest Villain song ever: "Hellfire". Which did Scar accomplish? He Kills the King, makes it seem as if the Next in line to the throne is dead, and takes control of Pride Rock, which was basically the whole plan.
Then again, we could debate this for a while.

Yes, yes we could XDXD. To each their own I guess. Both Giovanni and Cyrus are charismatic in their own way. On the note of Frollo though; Unlike Scar who needs to claw and scrape to the top for his kingdom, that man *already* has it made. He's practically running Paris under a dictatorship the moment we met him asides already setting his master plan for genocide. Basically he's already achieved most of what he wants and it looking to make his one final move whereas Scar started the story with zero turf, so we can't really debate goals as both of them were at obviously different levels, with Scar's story being an ascension and Frollo's being close to the end.

Ah. Well, still. One character accomplishes his goal for the movie, and the other doesnt.
However, Both end up being.....*puts on sunglasses* Let down.

(Scar did fall to his death, right?) Naw, actually he got eaten alive by his own henchmen A pretty badass way to go though, discounting the fact that he was trying to slimeball his way back into their good books before the inevitable. 10000+ brownie points for Horatio Caine ref. CSI Miami's intro is so very LOLworthy. On the flip side, I've never been interested in Team Aqua/Magma. I dunno why, but they just never struck to me.
