as the bird pokemon fluffed it's feathers in annoyance to it's trainer, the ralts looked quietly at the two. it's anger a bit boiled up and it's body un-moving, and unwavering to the other pokemon. It's eyes if seen would be glaring intensly at the bird pokemon in anger. Rather it would probably be glaring at the trainer, where the minun was sent back to. It was rather annoyed with everything right now as it was paralyzed. It looked to the spearow and growled, hoping to put the pokemon at a disadvantage as it had the time before the spearow was to attack.
June flapped nervously for a second, or rather, to be more precise she was flapping her feathers in order to show that the move was noneffective, despite the fact that it was. None the less, June was a little put back by the angry growl of the ralts, and the ralts seemed to be pleased with this move, and how it affected June.
The spearow squaked in response to Ashton's orders. Not quite willing to do the orders at first, but realising that she should in the end. It unwillingly flew forward a bit to be in front of the Ralts that couldn't move from it's spot very well, but attempted to move due to the bird coming right at it. In the end, the peck landed firmly on the ralts' head.
After that the ralts was going to retaliated, but was frozen on the spot due to paralization. its body shook for a moment as it gave the glance to June, but ended up just shivering a bit and the shock went through it's body. It wanted to move badly, but couldn't no matter how hard it tried. June would simply laugh at the ralts attempt and fly back a little.

► i disappear behind the beat when the mirrors and the lights and the smoke clears, i'd never guess how we ever could've got here | • june uses peck • June had to give Ana credit for her handiwork on Ralts, the Psychic-type wracked by spastic tremors brought on by paralysis. It made her job easier even with the clones, but those were no match for her sharp eyes. Narrowing in on the original, June dropped down to attack, only to draw up short when a severe growl cut through the air. Ashton seemed to be the least affected by this strange noise issuing out from a rather meek Pokémon (grumpiness aside), one brow rising in reaction. Beside him, Anahera had jumped and was clutching at Ashton's leg with a startled face. The model watched June carefully, pleased when she shook off the growl and proceeded with her attack.
Landing the blow with a satisfied smirk, June wheeled round and swaggered as she made he way back to Ashton. 'Pitiful. I prefer foes with a little more gumption,' the Spearow informed her trainer, her words falling on deaf ears. Waving her off, Ashton tried - and failed - to not roll his eyes at June. "Not sure what you're complaining about now, but snap that beak shut Junebug. I brought you out to battle, not to nag me," Ashton intoned, flicking his hands dismissively at June. Squawking angrily to herself, June spun round in the air and fixed her eyes on Ralts once more, cursing her moronic trainer under her breath.
"I suppose I can risk it... another Peck, then," Ashton spoke after a moment's pause. He knew an angry June was a motivated June, and he trusted that she would bring Ralts' energy down enough to finish this dreadful task to escape this blasted city even with her rage. Tempting as it was to disobey him, June knew it would only end with her stuffed in a PC box to ignore his orders, and flared her wings out wide. Uttering a coarse squawk, the Spearow flew back over to where Ralts stood in the grass before executing a neat backflip that would bring her down low enough for another strike. | |

A little shaky as it was anyway from being paralysed from the rounds prior, the Ralts was doing all it could to hold it together. With the inclusion of June onto the scene, pecking at it with its sharp beak and a raucous squawk, it was enough to instil a great deal of fear into it. Creaking its paralytic body to try and crane around fast enough to deal with June's swift movements, the Pokemon looked to be in trouble. Not only was it physically frail but it didn't seem to have any offensive options available to it in order for it to retaliate against its attacker. This would only become all too evident as by the time June had made short work of the distance between them with a forceful flap of her wings, she had flipped into the air and with an extension out of her beak, came crashing down on the beleaguered foe below. Making contact with the sharp, grazing beak, the Ralts let out a stifled cry as its body locked up, preventing it from fully recoiling from the strike. Hopping off with a flourish, June seemed to be examining her handiwork but this would be a slight error. Although frozen in place as the Pokemon twitched violently, the Ralts was able to finally strike back. Most Pokemon relied on their physical prowess to follow through with the endeavours in battle but this psychic gifted fairy was different. Able to harness the power of its mind, the Pokemon closed its eyes tightly as it sent out a flurry of confusing distortions into the mind of June. Delving in effectively, the Spearow was suddenly at the mercy of the Ralts. Wailing around and barging into all manner of nearby objects, it seemed as if the Ralts was doing everything it could to make the Pokemon hurt itself. Eventually freeing from the imprisoning effects of the paralysis on its body, the Ralts slumped to the floor rather gracefully and because it was so thankful to have control over its body once more, freed its influence over June's mind. ► i disappear behind the beat when the mirrors and the lights and the smoke clears, i'd never guess how we ever could've got here | • using x1 poké ball (updated) • Disgusted by the lack of fighting spirit in her foe, June didn't bother to hold herself back, throwing her frustration into her attack to make it hurt. Pulling back to sneer at Ralts, this would ultimately leave her wide open for the disgruntled Psychic-type to return the favour. Ashton gritted his teeth as he watched June pause to mock her paralyzed foe; what exactly was the feather-brain hoping to achieve by pissing it off like that? "JUNE! Get back here now!" he called in a thunderous voice, voice cracking like a whip. Barely turning her head, June was about to acknowledge his command with choice words right as Ralts struck.
Squalling with fury as her body disobeyed her, the Spearow found herself at her foe's lack of mercy, thrown around like a rag doll before it finally released her. Thumping onto the grass, she struggled to standing and fought to catch her breath. 'Finally grew a spine, did you?' June managed to spit out, one beady eye locked on Ralts and staring intently at it. Oh, she was angry all right, but there was some grudging respect for the Ralts to finally hit back. There was little fun to be had in attacking what was essentially a punching bag. Belatedly realizing Ashton's furious words before the Confusion, June turned her aching body in his direction and waited to be chewed out.
He wasn't even looking at her, stupid human. Too busy reaching into his bag to even notice she was fine, a Poké Ball clutched in his hands. What, was he really going to recall her for a simple error? "Step aside June, you've done your part... poorly, I might add," Ashton spoke, voice condescending as his amber eyes skirted over her. Huffing to herself, June moved out of the away and grumbled under her breath, not even bothering to watch as Ashton hefted the capture device at Ralts. Never pleased with anything she did, even denying her a chance to have a decent battle with a semi-competent opponent.

As Ashton chucked the Pokeball forward, it soared through the air, passing by June and eventually found itself dabbing against the Ralt's weary body. Not only had it suffered an assault but it had been unduly paralysed meaning it was in no state whatsoever to put up any resistance to being captured. All it could do was remain still and watch in shock as the capture device did its duty. Absorbing it in a red light, the Pokemon was covered from head to toe as it was digitised and scooped into the centre of the spherical capture device. Falling to the floor with a plonk, the capture was now under way. Rocking back and forth, it was processing the newly acquired Pokemon. Once... Twice... Thrice...

► i disappear behind the beat when the mirrors and the lights and the smoke clears, i'd never guess how we ever could've got here | • finally ending this thread • Ashton waited until the ball ceased shaking before walking over to it, retrieving it and storing it in his bag. All the while he avoided looking at June, struggling to cap his anger enough before addressing the huffy Spearow. "I want to give you a chance, June. You may not be the prettiest Pokémon of the bunch, but I know you're strong. But you don't want to listen to me, and that makes me wonder if you're mature enough to be a part of this team," Ashton said after a moment, shocking her. She'd assumed his irritation with her in battles stemmed from his disdain towards her scruffy appearance, not because of her tendency to ignore his orders. Looking up at him, June saw the disappointment in his eyes and felt it like a slap in the face. They'd both made mistakes here, and she would be damned if she would repeat them again.
June's reaction was enough to satisfy him, Ashton recalling her back to her ball a moment later. Sighing, the model stowed it away and rocked back on his heels, gazing up at the clear sky and blazing sun. "I never knew being a trainer could be so... exhausting," he muttered, crouching down when Anahera tugged at his leg. "You tired, princess?" Ana considered this, sweet face scrunched up adorably in concentration, before shaking her head. 'I'm fine, silly. But aren't we done now? I think we only needed to find three of those Pokémon,' the Minun replied, hoping he would understand what she was trying to communicate. The knowledge lit up his eyes, a devastatingly handsome smile appearing on his face. It was a rare, true smile he reserved for only dear friends... or the occasional stubborn fan.
"Well Ana, we're finally done here. We'll head back, rest up, and try to find our way out of this blasted city tomorrow." Deeply pleased with this plan, Ashton knelt further to allow Ana to hop onto his shoulder. Singing a gentle, undefinable tune as they walked back, Anahera swayed happily on her excellent perch, lending a cheerful cast to their otherwise uneventful journey back. Making sure his shades were back on, Ashton was careful as he navigated the city, hoping to avoid attracting unwanted attention. It would be harder to hide in Violet, being a bit more developed than Cherrygrove, but it wasn't anything he wasn't used to. "One step closer to making things right, I hope." Ashton said quietly, thoughts drifting to his sister. One day he'd repair what was broken between them, atone for his stupid mistakes.
