Raising an eyebrow of his own at the fact the fabled huntress had finally decided that playing with fire in this sort of weather wasn't really the best of ideas and had gone for a switch, he awaited the arrival of the next Pokemon. " About time! I thought you were gonna stubbornly dig yerself in t'the end. You're pretty hot headed y'know? Oh well, as long as its not another Fire type." Laughing heartily to himself, his merriment was short lived as he saw the sight of Tirrika before Rhoan. Almost literally jumping out of his skin and a face paces backwards, the vehement look of trepidation on his face was self explanatory in itself. This pro-survivalist wasn't the biggest fan of snakes of all things. " G-G-G-G-GAAAAHAAAAAAAA SNAAAAAKE!" Shuddering at the thought of facing up to the wily creature, he began to take deep breaths in hyperventilation and did everything to calm himself down. " Oh boy... Gex! Leer at it so that it don't look so intimidatin'!" Amazingly, just as Gex set his eyes on the scaly serpent, he too backed up a little at the scary look of the poisonous snake. So much so, he became so rattled his offensive willpower took a harsh beating. Still very much trying to do good for his trainer, Gex lowered his shades and leered his own set of golden eyes, something that unnerved Tirrika slightly. With a new round quickly upon them, Morecambe appeared even more hastened at trying to bring this Pokemon's foray to an abrupt close. " Alright, make sure to Aerial Ace this too. We can't afford any mistakes here." Gex nodded but as it turned around to face Tirrika it was terrified to see the snake had crept up already. With a loud hiss of its tongue, the Pokemon enlarged its gaping maw with its two fangs dripping in a powerful poison. Instilling a visual fear into the tree gecko, Tirrika then lashed forward and sunk her fangs deeply into the Pokemon's body, inflicting tremendous damage. As she let go eventually having pumped enough poison into his veins, it seemed Gex had fainted in the process. " Crikey!" Was all that could be heard as Morecambe edged away ever so slightly from the snake now standing before him with nothing to stop her from striking at him. However, although the reservation guard was gripped with fear, a sudden turnaround made him flash a cocky look on his face. Something was up. Trainer Battle
Morecambe's Gex | ♂ | Level 10 | Health : 0% (0/31)Status : Normal; Attack -1 ... Tirrika | ♀ | Level 10 | Health : 100% (30/30) Status : Normal; Defence -1 Ssssilly gecko Victory!
Your Tepig fought courageously and has levelled up! It went up by 1 level and is now Level 9! Forzo learnt the move Odour Sleuth! Your Ekans fought courageously and has levelled up! It went up by 3 levels and is now Level 13! Tirrika would like to learn the move Glare. Delete a move so that she can learn it? Now relaxing into a much more natural demeanour, Morecambe cleared his throat and recalled back Gex. " You just had to play the snake card... No matter though. Looks like I ended up doing what I had set out to do." Folding his arms and laughing boisterously, he nudged his head in the direction of the rock the Quagsire had been watching the climatic battle from. Gone was the aquatic newt and in its place seemed a trio of round, spherical objects. " Ha ha! I knew if I stalled ya long enough Quaggy would make sure to flee to safety." Pleased in his endeavours, Morecambe took an even more annoying higher stance in his tone with Rhoan. The way he spoke almost seemed as if he had been testing her the entire time. " Tell ya what. Seein' as you were such a good sport, i'll let you collect the peace offerings that Quaggy gifted to ya and i'll pretend I never saw ya. At all." " We can just make like this never happened. Sound good, aye? I was hopin' for that because..." Flashing Rhoan a cocky little smirk, he pulled out another, much more worn Pokeball and tossed it to his side. The bright flash of light that streamed out was tremendous and didn't belong to any of the smaller Pokemon that had been seen up until now. This was much, much larger. Coming into view as the light faded, a colossal dinosaur like creature stood firm and glared at both Rhoan and Tirrika, forcing her to retreat back a few paces. The way this Torterra imposed itself made it clear it wasn't anything to be taken lightly. " I really wouldn't want to shame y'all with how good Goliath is. Best to just save face and skidaddle." Shrugging with a cheeky look on his face, he left the option entirely to Rhoan. " Ball's in your court hun." Having served his purpose, Morecambe is allowing you to claim the spoils the Quagsire offered in appeasement. Should you decline, he is more than happy to continue battling with his monstrous Torterra (Level 64) Do you wish to continue battling or accept the Quagsire's gift?

Although Rhoan was lucky enough to beat the Treeko, with one hit of course, she figured the battle would be over. The fight with the ranger was amusing, to say the least, and she enjoyed it despite her fire Pokemon being doused by the rain. It still put up for a good match, which is what she'd found herself enjoying since she moved to this region. Becoming a hunter in his place would be hard, especially since they couldn't rely on their own strength anymore, but on Pokemon. There were plenty of people here before her, which put Rhoan at a terrible disadvantage.
Playing with a handicap? Perfect.
Tiriika was finished, so Rhoan crossed her arms, a smug look on her face. When the ranger nudged his head toward the direction of the Quagsire, she let out a sigh. It's gone... She growled, but then saw a few objects in it's place. When she turned back to Morcambe, a giant monster stood alongside him, clearly stronger than anything she could have mustered. She looked down at Tyrana, who was out of her Pokeball again. Ready? She smirked, and the CHarmander nodded. SHe looked back at the giant monster Pokemon and sighed. Fine. You win. She snarled, looking away, stil linable to accept defeat. She wasn't fond of losing. I hope I see you again though. You'd make a good punc-.. er, practice battler, is it? I wish this region was like my own, but i'll have to make due. Until then, I guess. She shrugged and returned all her Pokemon but the snake, which curled around her neck, glaring over to intimidate the ranger more before walking over to the spherical objects.
Rhoan claimed the 3 spheres!

All too confident in himself, Morecambe was quite relieved that their little skirmish had come to a short yet succinct conclusion. " You know it makes sense. I was playin' with ya the most part. I like to lure 'em in, make 'em think they won and WHAM! No chance. You have my young 'uns a good fair bit of practice too." Patting Goliath's head, Morecambe leaned against his colossal Torterra as he watched her part ways with him, he gave her a small little casual salute with the flick of his hand and beamed. " You betcha i'll be poppin' up again. You've done me a favour and inspired me to do something with my life for once. Stationed in this dingy swamphole ain't doin' me no favours. I'll pop up when ya least expect it! Can't let ya have all the glory." Plucking out a strand of wheat which had somehow made itself onto the back of his Torterra, he stuck it in his mouth and began chewing at it absent mindedly. As he remained distanced, the items which Rhoan had picked up became known! It seems that for all of the tourists that came by to try and catch a glimpse of these wondrous creatures, there were a large number who also chucked in a load of rubbish to try and agitate a response... That and the odd gleaming treasure from the deep that made its way into their den. His jaw dropping slightly at the sight of Tirrika, Morecambe slowly regained his cocky arrogance just as he waved her off. " I don't want to hear of no repeated attempts at trying to hustle yerself a Quagsire too, y'hear? So long huntress." Letting out a small laugh to himself, he stretched out with his arms behind his head as he looked up to the sky with the rain now sparsely dropping down on him. Thread unreserved by Joey. I hope you enjoyed this little detour.

Rhoan gave a snort before pocketing her goods with her snake coiled around her neck, lesiurely. The fact that she'd lost to such arrogance infuriated her, not only because she wasn't used to losing, but because the man had an attitude much like her own unfortunately, which seemed to annoy her the most. She crossed her arms and looked off to the side, where the Quagsire had disappeared. She pulled the pearl out of her pocket and looked at it with disgust. Ah. Good job, Hunter. Your first score was left to you by a dopey Pokemon you couldn't catch. She snarled, contemplating throwing it into the marsh with anger. Tiriika grabbed it though and slithered it back into Rhoan's pocket before anger struck.
Rhoan returned the snake, shoving her hands in her pockets as she made her way into what seemed to be a grassy area. Only after looking up on a map did she notice she was in Route 30, close to Cherrygrove. The outskirts, basically. Pokemon were within the town, but for now she needed to work on her team. The anger of losing to that stupid ranger fueled her team as well, despite defeating the weaker Pokemon. The ekans was mildly satisfied with herself, only because of the KO she'd done on the Treeko. None of that mattered now though while Rhoan peered in the grass, waiting for some Pokemon to appear.

[OCC: Sorry it sucks, couldn't think of anything else.] Given the weather, a good number of Pokemon weren't out to be found, it just wasn't a nice day to be hanging around like it would normally be. Which was a shame, since it could have been a nice day. But oh well, Gulpin was out today and that was something, it had already eaten lunch, in the form of a Mareep that it had come across, so it wasn't hungry. But it hadn't gone back to shelter either, it felt like being out and exploring for a bit. Though before long, it came across a female Trainer that seemed to be looking for something, well Gulpin was something right? So it may as well make itself found and see about getting a Trainer Battle in, that could be fun. So the Gulpin headed over to Rhoan, coming straight at her from her front. It wanted to be sure that it was seen, to make sure it would get noticed for a Battle. It was just hoping that it wouldn't be totally over-powered by the Trainer's Pokemon, it wanted to win after all. Wild Gulpin [Level 11] appeared!

Rhoan turned at the sound of another Pokemon, but this time it wasn't a dopey Quagsire. Thank goodness... The hunter watched the Pokemon for a moment, figuring that it wasn't going to be much of a sell. After contemplating for a while, she dug her hand into her pocket and pulled out Tyrana's Pokeball. She released the Charmander, who put up a mini-fit before snarling over at the Gulpin across the way. Alright, time to mess this little punk up! Tyrana snarled, cracking her non-existent knuckles. Rhoan didn't understand what the Charmander was saying, but it was enough of a guess to say that Tyrana was energized and ready for some kind of fight.
She took a step back and watched the Charmander wait for her call, while the Gulpin loomed on the other side of the battlefield. Rhoan crossed her arms and thought for a moment. Not about Pokemon moves or what Tyrana knew, no... how close were they? Tyrana and Rhoan? The meddling ranger seemed to be friends with his Pokemon. This seemed somewhat ridiculous. Rhoan and her Pokemon had an agreement. They'd be the best. Rhoan wasn't on board for the friend shit though. Alright, Tyrana. Flamethrower.

The Gulpin slid backwards slightly as Rhoan seemed to accept it's offer at a battle. It was pleased, fighting in the soft downpour of snow would surely warm up it's large, gluttonous body somewhat. That and maybe it could work off a few calories after that plump Mareep it had eaten whole a little earlier on in the day. Remaining perfectly still, it allowed little snow flakes to land on the feather which sprouted from the top of it's bulbous body, pushing out it's puckered lips in surprise as a sudden ray of warm touched it's face. The flaming tail of Tyrana burnt bright enough to melt the tiny flakes of snow before they could even touch her, the orange cracking her claws together and grunting in a challenging tone. So, it was up against a fire type? Maybe the Gulpin would warm up quicker than it first expected.
Simply breathing in and out whilst moving it's strange hands around, even if it wanted to go first, the green blob was far too slow to attack first. It had learnt this due to numerous battles in the past so it was always used to letting the opponent go first, that and it preferred to see just how powerful the enemy was in the first place. It's thin eyes stuck to Tyrana, the female Charmander who burst to life upon hearing her trainer's command. The huntress was fierce but it was her sharp tongue that caused Tyrana to do her best. She wanted to prove that she was a worthy enough partner for the woman, afterall, she was. Having a step above any other pathetic fire types with their weak Embers, Tyrana had been fortunate enough to be taught the next level higher. Stomping her clawed feet into the thick layer of snow, the lizard cranked her neck backward slightly, jaws bolted shut as she began to conjure up her attack.
Flames flickered teasingly out of her jaws as she continued to build up power, the little wild Gulpin looking more unsure at this point. However, it was too late to run as Tyrana tossed her head forward and opened her jaws. A bright gush of orange flames erupted from her mouth, obliterating the snow in front of her and aiming straight for the wild Gulpin. Crying out in a dull groan as the flames enveloped it, the Pokemon was lucky to survive such a powerful blast. Rolling backward in hope that the snow would help extinguish the flames, it was a tough decision for the Gulpin on which move to use. It could go physical and pound the beast on the head or maybe even attempt to poison it. Although the thoughts were simple, it was a bit too much for the blob, a simple yawn escaping it's large mouth. Of course, it seemed like nothing was done but Tyrana's eyelids were starting to grow heavy...
Wild Pokemon Battle
Gulpin: | Level 10 | Health: 41% ( 15/37 HP) Status: Normal Gulpin used Yawn!
VS
Tyrana: | Level 10 | Health: 100% (30/30 HP) Status: Normal Tyrana used Flamethrower! Tyrana will fall asleep next turn.
OOC: Pokemon in Cherrygrove range between 5 and 10 according to the guide, so I have dropped the level down one.

Rhoan looked around, with her good eye, at the flakes of snow beginning to fall. Good thing she had a Fire Pokemon or two to keep her warm. Tyrana seemed to be doing fine on the battlefield, releasing her flamethrower with a charged frenzy. The slow Gulpin couldn't hack the speed and just had to sit, taking the onslaught. Good job, Tyrana. Rhoan commented, and Tyrana nodded her head, unaware the Gulpin was beginning it's attack, which was merely a yawn. Tyrana paused for a moment, yawned as well, and then started laughing. ARE YOU SERIOUS!? She giggled, unaware if she didn't faint the Gulpin next turn she would fall asleep.
Rhoan didn't want to take any changes. Tyrana, straighten back up. She growled. Tyrana did, tail waving back and forth, immediately melting snowflakes around her. She eyed the Gulpin who just sat there in a puddle of itself. Faint it this turn. She said. Flamethrower. She commanded, and Tyrana nodded, crossing her arms like Rhoan before taking a few steps forward and unleashing the mighty flames from her mouth once more. Rhoan watched on, visible eye slitted, the other watching from behind her hair.

Still feeling just as groggy, Tyrana staggered, trying to keep proper footing. Shaking her head, she tried to keep a straight focus on what was going on. A Flamethrower? Well, that seemed easy enough. Though she was a bit groggier than she felt like she should be. She breathed in and released a large amount of flames from her muzzle. The Gulpin didn't have to avoid as the flames engulfed its fat green body. With a squeal, it fell over, exhausted and unwilling to fight anymore. Tyrana fell over too after seeing the green Pokemon faint. She curled up in the snow and began dozing. The battle may have been over, but the effect of Yawn had not yet gone away. Maybe if she just stayed there for a little while, she'd feel rested enough to wake herself up. Now the charred Gulpin lay on the charred ground where the flamethrower had burned away all the snow, completely vulnerable. If Rhoan really wanted to capture it, now was the time to do it. But then again, it was the Hunter's choice really, and if she chose to leave it there, then that was where it would stay. _____________________________________________________ Victory~! Updating Pokeball
Rhoan snorted, looking down at the puddle of... whatever Gulpin was made out of, with a hint of disgust. Nevertheless, it was a Pokemon and some twisted person in this universe would want to get their hands on it, so she pulled out an empty Pokeball and dropped it on the creature. While the light engulfed the fainted Pokemon, Rhoan went over and prodded Tyrana with her foot. Wake up. You shouldn't be sleeping. The battle's over. She growled. Tyrana stood up shakily and rubbed her eyes momentarily before looking over at Rhoan and nodding. Got it! She growled back, crossing her arms. Tyrana was getting antsy. She was close to evolution. Perhaps her trainer would like her more as an evolved Pokemon..
Rhoan started to walk around again, feeling stupid for walking in circles, but... training was necessary. They'd picked up a new member as well, a cast off Torchic with a strange attack. Forzo was traded for it, which seemed to be a good trade. The bird was still resting, though hopefully she'd get some use out of the thing soon. Rhoan narrowed her eyes and searched for any kind of wandering Pokemon to come by their tracks.

As if someone had turned on a light switch, the weather around them seemed to change instantaneously. The not so pleasant dampness the route was now replaced with the roll in of seemingly exquisite weather. The clouds dissipated into nothingness as clear blue skies reigned over the skies. Considering the awful tripe Rhoan and her team of aspiring hunters had to put up with, this was arguably a gift not to be wasted. This wasn't just one simple gift in the form of weather, in truth there was far more to this gift than first understood. Along with the radiant clear sky was a rather eccentric Chatot had come inspect this strange trainer for itself first hand. Not one for subtly in the way it stalked Rhoan, it swooped around in the air from tree to tree, all the while blurting out barely recognisable speech as it was moving so fast. Throwing its caution, or lack thereof, to the wind, it soared down from its tree top perching and landed neatly in front of Rhoan. As if enacting a Mexican stand off, it stood there with its wings tucked into its sides and its eyes leering manically. It didn't know what to make of Rhoan but her streaks in her hair made her look all too curious to pass up on. Eventually bolstering its confidence, it opened its beak to speak a lot clearer this time around. "SQUAWK RAWK! PIKACHU! GO! USE THUNDERBOLT!" With a fling forward of its right wing and the left still tucked under, it seemed to be pointing towards Rhoan as if it were mimicking a certain trainer, most likely one it had come across in its travels. "SQUAWK! YOU CAN DO IT PIKACHU! RAAAAWK!" With a glint of its eye, it flung both of its wings forward to show off its wing span and seemed to be throwing down a metaphorical gauntlet in challenge. It may have confused up just who exactly should be using the lines of the trainer but it nevertheless seemed more than capable of handling itself in a battle. Encounter

The obnoxious bird had approaching them, and Rhoan covered her ears with her hands before releasing one to fumble for a pokeball. Whichever one she grabbed, she'd use. With a flash, the angry Carvanha, Hatari, was thrown out into the battlefield. She wasn't entirely sure how the creature was going to attack or function on land, but it would be a sight to see at least. She was glad the Pokemon liked her, otherwise the Carvanha would be a formidable opponent if it ever decided to turn back to Rhoan and attack. It would be the last thing they ever did though. Rhoan wasn't going to fall for insubordination.
Hatari hissed and glared over at the bird. Let's go, girl. Your name means Danger in a different language. Time to show this bird how you got your name with a bite! Rhoan commanded, taking a step back to watch the battle as it unfolded. Perhaps the bird could be some sort of informant. If not, it'd make something to sell at least. It was capable of speech, so why not? The redhead watched, thinking what the fate of the bird would be.

The Chatot was a bit pleased that it would be able to get into this Battle, or rather get into a fight that wasn't related to getting food anyway. Though, the fish did look a bit tasty, after all what fish didn't look good to a predatory bird? Still, it wasn't hungry so it could decide later if it wanted to keep the fish as a meal or not later, right now it had to get going for the Battle. It was of course the faster of the two, being flight-capable and all. So the Chatot flew at the Carvanha like a missile, while screaming "SQUAWK! NAME WITH A BITE! NAME WITH A BITE!" at the opposing Pokemon, copying what Rhoan had just said to her Pokemon, both to intimidate and annoy the Trainer and Pokemon as it moved in for the attack. Of course it managed to land it's attack, hitting the fish in her ribs with it's beak, and when it did it had tasted the fish as well, it tasted pretty good but not enough for it to decide that it would continue this Battle for a meal. Needless to say, Hatari wasn't too happy about the attack, but it was now her turn for an attack, and she was going to show this bird why you don't mess with anything that has a jaw like her's. Typically birds were the predators, and fish the prey, but Carvanha's could eat birds just as easily, though they had a harder time actually hunting them. So she moved over (How do the fish move on the ground anyway? : |) to her opponent, opening her mouth so that she could Bite the thing for her attack. She clamped down on the Chatot, causing massive damage to the target, she felt it's flesh fill her mouth, but she let it go almost as soon as she bit into it, she'd already eaten and her Trainer may have wanted to capture the thing. But the damage had clearly been done, the Chatot seemed a lot weaker now, and was clearly in a lot of pain, much more than it's opponent. Still, it had some fight left in it, and this wasn't over so Hatari went back to her Trainer to wait for orders. Battle Chatot | Level 9| Health : 17/35 HP [48%]Status : Normal Attack : A successful Peck. Vs. Hatari | Level 10| Health : 23/32 HP [71%]Status : Normal Attack : A successful Bite.

Rhoan crossed her arms and looked at Hatari. She was starting to get a bit overheated from the battle, and not being in water. She sighed and looked over to the bird before pulling out Hatari's Pokeball. She returned the fish before sending out a bird of her own. The small Torchic was brought out into the battle, fresh from it's egg. Alright, Cayzle. This is a battle. You're my Pokemon, so you do as I say. That's the enemy, alright? She explained, pointing to the bird. We're gonna make a good team. I can already tell. Cayzle, lets go.
She thought for a moment, but then decided that she wasn't going to make Cayzle fight. The chick cocked his head to the side and looked over at Rhoan before looking at the bird. Granted, it held a powerful power, it wasn't ready to unleash it yet. Rhoan pulled out a pokeball and threw it towards the bird, hoping to make this quick. Perhaps they'd catch it and Cayzle would get some experience from seeing the battle. Hatari would too, for having the brute strength. The pokeball was in the air, soaring towards the bird. Cayzle, if it doesn't catch, use your Night slash on it, alright?

After that attack, Chatot had the mocking knocked right out of it, it felt that it had pissed off the fish, and didn't want to go through that again. In the end though, it seemed that it didn't need to worry about that as the Trainer returned the fish to it's Pokeball, before sending out a small orange bird to do Battle with the Chatot. Perhaps this would be a more even Battle, Chatot was sure hoping so. If nothing else, it would get in a free hit against this bird, so that was always a plus. It charged the younger bird for it's second Peck of the day, hoping that it had enough power to deal with the bird before it could defeat the weakened Chatot. It felt joy as it's beak tore into the other bird, causing the young Torchic to fall to the ground and flail around screaming in pain from the attack. It had never gotten hurt like that before, and it hoped to never have it happen again. Chatot was very pleased with itself until it saw the Trainer throw one of her Pokeballs right at it. She was trying to catch it, and the Chatot could do nothing since it had been distracted by the Torchic. Chatot was pulled into the Pokeball, but it wasn't about to go down without a fight. It did everything it could to fight it's way out of the Pokeball, and in the end it paid off, as the Pokeball shattered and Chatot stood there, having broken out of the man-made prison. This time when it looked at the Torchic though, it was clearly angry. It didn't want to be captured, and that attempt wasn't something it took very well, Torchic turned to run as the Chatot advanced for another Peck. Once again Chatot's beak found it's mark, before the Torchic made it more than a couple feet, Chatot cut it right along it's stomach, and the young bird fell over, it had been knocked out by the Chatot, who was stronger than it had seemed compared to the Carvanha that it had originally been fighting. Battle Chatot | Level 9| Health : 17/35 HP [48%]Status : Normal Nature Effect: N/A Attack : Two successful Pecks. Vs. Cayzle | Level 5| Health : 0/21 HP [0%]Status : FaintedNature Effect: Attack +1; Defense -1 Attack : N/A
Cayzle fainted from the Chatot's attacks. Continue the Battle and send out another Pokemon to replace him?
Pokeball removed.
