The fact that Sandy took his advice and rested against him made Andrew feel a lot calmer about the entire situation. He felt as if keeping her close would make it easier to protect her from Leon and Maradeth. If she was willing to listen to him now, he was sure he could convince her to disregard the comments made by their enemies. “Sandy, I’m not gonna leave you. It’s obvious who’s at fault here. People like those two make me sick,” he replied, glaring across the field.
Maradeth followed up with a speech on how she and Leon would take them as prisoners once the battle was over. “You’re not getting anywhere near us – not that you’ll have the chance to try. We’re gonna win this, Sandy,” he insisted. Maradeth had seemingly dug up a lot of dirt on Sandy’s past. As the woman babbled on, Andrew began to shake a little bit. Some of the revelations were shocking, especially when Sandy confirmed them to be true. His head was becoming cluttered with information which was exactly what these two were hoping for. Andrew soon realised what was happening and shook it off. This wasn’t the time for questions. He would have to stick with his friend, despite her mistakes. Sandy really needed him right now.
“Sandy, it’s okay. Making the right decision is hard when you’re stressed, and that’s what they’re trying to do to us now. We can do this, trust me.” Andrew smiled as Sandy stood up to her tormenters once more and commanded Hiroki to use a more useful move. “That’s it, we’ve got this!” Andrew proclaimed. He’d have to change his strategy slightly, however, now that Rusty’s Gust had been disabled. “Rusty, let’s switch over to a Tackle now. Aim for Umbreon this time!”

He hadn't heard whatever Andrew had been told, but whatever it was, he knew it was probably about him. Sandy was terrified of him and he knew it. More-so terrified of Maradeth. Maradeth seemed much more confident than himself that they were going to win, but even though he wanted to be confident they were going to clench the win, he wasn't so sure. Sometimes, she managed to surprise him.
Sandy hadn't really had high hopes for Andrew being so forgiving, and she mentally kicked herself for thinking he'd reach any different after all he had been doing for her. With how long she had been standing, she could feel her leg buckle slightly under her weight, and she adjusted herself a bit in order to keep it from giving in. She was mostly relying on Andrew for his support, but she was trying to keep most of her weight off of him.
"Right, I'm sure we'll win!" She mentioned a bit more confidently. She still had her doubts, but she wanted to make sure Andrew knew that she had been listening to him. Leon began a slow clap, a more than amused laugh escaping him. His smirk was as sharp as ever, and he looked phased by neither teen.
"I appreciate the bravado Sandy, but we both know you're lying through your teeth. You're not anymore sure you're going to win this than before Andrew started his whispering to you." Maradeth let out a laugh in agreement, and then looked back to Leon.
"Darling, why not double attack?" She took out another Pokeball , tossing it into the air and revealing a rather menacing looking Machoke. Leon didn't look either approving or disapproving of this, instead signaling Umbreon to go along with whatever it was that Maradeth was planning to do. She signaled the both of them and the Pokemon started off towards Rusty and Hiroki without much time to counter.
"You can't do that!" Sandy insisted, Maradeth's laughter ringing in her ears.
"If you haven't noticed, we're rockets, we don't care about rules!" But before the two could reach their target, Machoke and Umbreon were toppled over by a teal and lavender blur. Sandy was shocked to see both Munchy and Muru standing before them, Muru tossing the Machoke away with her Psychic power.
"We thought we'd find you out here. Well, since we've been looking all over, I guess not, but still." Muru mentioned chidingly, looking back at Sandy. Munchy seemed to be ranting, and Muru rolled her eyes.
"By the way, Sparky here says 'what the hell are you stupid or something they could have hurt you Yadda, Yadda, Yadda..." Sandy looked down in confusion at the Espeon, who was half looking back at her, and half keeping her eye on the enemy.
"It's okay, Andrew was here, and he's helping me." A sly looked crossed the Espeon's face as she seemed to realize now the position that her trainer was in.
"I can see that. But either way you're lucky he was here at all. Run.. er...limp off like that again and I'm afraid. we'll have to kill you." Sandy blushed, briefly looking at Andrew and then away, not sure what to make of her Pokemon's slipped comment.
"Umbreon, Bite into that Espeon!" Muru didn't have much time to counter at Maradeth's voice because no sooner had she shouted it out, Umbreon's teeth sank into her bad leg. Muru yelped loudly and fell over, Munchy just barely supporting her so she didn't fall heavily onto the floor. Sandy made a small, distraught noise, knowing that she couldn't rush out there because she'd end up falling over too. In retaliation, Munch shot forward and slammed into Yamask with a flame wheel, the ghost type sinking to the ground. Maradeth growled and looked at Leon, but Leon only shrugged.
"I guess you pay the price for cheating Maradeth." A tight line was formed out of Maradeth's lips, and she returned both her Machoke and Yamask. Rusty hurried for Umbreon, smacking into him without a second thought. Leon sighed.
"You're lucky those two showed up, that could have been a sticky wicket, hm?" He was directing his question more towards Andrew than he was Sandy.
"I bet you're tired, aren't you? You don't need to guard her you know. It's not your fault she denied me. I'd let you walk away and just take her, you'd go free, if that'd help you out." Munchy growled, but he had to take the time to drag Muru out of the battle area, so she was out of harms way. Sandy glanced up at Andrew. Maybe he was tired of this. He didn't have to stick with her, but somehow, she felt like he would. All she could do was keep up a steady gaze. She couldn't think of anything to say in her defense. Hiroki took it upon himself to dish out another Earthquake, Sandy once again clutching Andrew's jacket in order to keep her balance. Lazy battle, no EXP lol:

Andrew appreciated Sandy’s efforts to block out Leon and Maradeth. Even if she struggled to overcome the entire situation, she needed to at least give it a shot. “We really will win, I promise,” Andrew declared, trying to speak over Leon’s laughter. Andrew gritted his teeth again as Leon made another attempt to manipulate Sandy. He was just about ready to shout at the Rocket member when Maradeth tossed a second Poké Ball, suggesting he had bigger things to be worrying about.
“Oh, for *****’s sake,” Andrew muttered under his breath. Rusty was just as irritated as her trainer as Machoke materialised on the field. She’d easily have taken it out with a Gust attack or two, had Yamask not disabled her only super-effective move. <<“Just you wait...”>> Rusty started. However, her flying-type moves weren’t going to be necessary as the bulky Pokémon was suddenly hurled away by a psychic force. “Oh perfect, more help!” Andrew said with relief while Muru went to scold her trainer. He did feel slightly more confident now, having only brought two Pokémon himself. <<“Wow, that’s gotta hurt,”>> the Pidgeotto guessed as Machoke fell with just one hit. However, the Espeon was then attacked without warning, taking quite some damage. Luckily, Munchy backed her up and Yamask was also knocked out.
<<“Looks like we’re getting close to the end of this,”>> Rayna commented, having observed everything that had happened up to this point. She would have to stay close to her trainer, especially after hearing the hostage comments. “Lucky? Those are Sandy’s Pokémon that just wiped the floor with ye. That’s a bit more than luck,” Andrew snapped back. “Why would I ever walk away? That’s the difference between you and me. I’ll always stick by my friends when they need me. Besides, take a look around — you’re finished,” Andrew proclaimed, hoping there wouldn’t be any more surprises. He nodded to Rusty, who then prepared to tackle the Umbreon once more. Andrew tightened his grip around Sandy, feeling that she was unsteady. She was going to have to take a long rest as soon as they got out of this mess.

For both her, and she was sure, Andrew. She knew her friend cared about her, because if he didn't he would have already left her. Maradeth was trying to separate them, and it seemed much like she was out to prove she was better off than Sandy or something. Sandy's eyes flashed with worry for Muru, who was still injured from umbreon's assault on her. But she couldn't do much for her at the moment, considering she was kind of immobile herself. She could see slightly past Leon's ruse of being fine however. He knew they going to lose. Even if he kept his composure, Sandy was sure he knew.
"Hiroki, Join Rusty with an Earthquake!" The Umbreon seemed to worn to move, so both Pokemon moved in at once, and Sandy braced herself against Andrew for what thankfully looked like the Final time Hiroki would have to do this. The ground shook just as Rusty collided with Umbreon, and Umbreon slumped onto the floor. Leon gave a sneer, looking back at Maradeth, who seemed shocked that they had managed to win, and he huffed. Because she had cheated, of course they had.
"Hm now. I guess you don't have to protect her as much as I thought you did." Leon mentioned. Honestly, if he really wanted to, he'd force them to come with him. But it was true. With the Flaaffy, Ponyta, and Quilava, along with the Pokemon that they had just battled on their side, he and Maradeth were more or less outnumbered. He sighed. Rounding Maradeth up, he glanced over at them. He knew when he was beaten, but Maradeth didn't seem as happy. Sandy could tell however Leon probably wasn't done, even after they left. She glanced at Andrew, with a small smile.
"Thank you, Andrew. I'm sorry you had to do all that. and that he just takes off like that..." She murmured, looking over to Munchy who was still tending to Muru. Spirit had stepped forwards to view the Espeon as well. She didn't want to ask Andrew for any other favors, but she was pretty tired.
"I don't have Muru's Pokeball with me, so if it's not too much trouble. She's not too heavy, I promise." She mentioned. When she noticed that they were still in the position they had been in for most of the battle, she blushed lightly and politely untangled herself from him. If he had any questions, she'd answer him. But for now she was really concerned about Muru. She soon moved to recall everyone but Munchy and Muru, both of which she did not have Pokeballs for.
