Yes, the outdoor was dangerous, but that didn't stop Penelope to hurry up and pack her food. Now aware that even in somewhere seemingly peaceful like Ilex Forest could be dangerous, she continued resumed eating as she occasionally looked around or listened carefully, as careful as her chewing mouth would let her hear and as clear as some of her more loud-eating Pokemon would let her listen. For now, after the Spearow was knocked onto the tree, nothing seemed to be approaching, but she had definitely kept her guard up.
One bite of the sandwich, nothing seemed to stir.
Another bite, nothing seemed to be coming.
A couple more bites, the sandwich was almost over, but her Vivillon had smaller mouth so she thought she'll wait for her to finish eating anyways. Diggersby, on the other hand, was getting full and just laying on the grass peacefully.

As Penelope continued to laze about in Pine Gap, it was hard to tell exactly how much time was passing. It seemed an age since Sylvester had come along to tell her about Farfetch'd having left, in truth, and even longer since the young picnicker had arrived here. Who knew if the vagrant duck was even where Sylvester had said it was by this point? Though, there were perhaps more important things to be done in this part of Ilex. The eponymous "pines" littered the floor, starting to fall from their parent trees while Penelope looked around the place. It wasn't quite the autumn yet, so it might've been a little confusing to see all of the trees dropping their fruits. Though, a curious mind would've quickly seen why this was happening. Unsurprisingly, the answer was "wild Pokémon". As was so often the case, really. Something was hopping across the branches above with some admirable levels of agility. A mass of beige/brown fur zipped across above Penelope's head. It was hard to tell exactly what colour this creature was, blurring through the sky as it was, but was this really important right now? After a little while, the animal stopped in its tracks, seemingly having found whatever it had been looking for. Penelope could now get a good look at this feral simian, its tail waving from side to side to maintain balance as it munched on a berry. Once its snack had been finished, the fuzzy monkey turned around. To its surprise, there was a human there! How long had she been around? Was she watching Mankey? Mankey jumped down to the ground and screeched loudly. Time to teach this human what happens when you stalk a Mankey. Probably!
A wild Mankey (Level 9) has appeared! Go to your battle here!

Continuing to explore the deciduous area to hunt the rebellious Farfetch'd, Penelope walked through the forest as she occasionally turned her head left and right to look for sign of the Farfetch'd, or anything interesting at all. While she would have to look for the Farfetch'd, but she was also enjoying the moment right now in Ilex Forest. The greenery and the air was just so much different than walking outside a city. It was also quite free of litters, and she found it quite happy and peaceful in this area.

As Penelope walked through the Pine Gap looking for Sylvester's missing Farfetch'd a crunching sound grabbed her attention. The noise was comming from a nearby tree and the closer she got the more frequent the sound became. As she walked behind a tall tree on the other side there was a Farfetch'd wacking the tree with its leek as if it had claimed the tree as its property. The bird was scared out of its wits as it jumped back to avoid letting her pick it up in fear of being returned to Sylvester. The bird would do almost anything to avoid going back to such an incompetent trainer. The bird figured Penelope must have been sent by him out of desperation. Farfetch'd was not one to run from a challenge however and it decided to test her. If she could defeat it in battle it would go back to Sylvester but otherwise he would need to find a new Pokemon. Farfetch'd extended its leek out and pointed it at Penelope to challenge her to a battle and it would not take no for an answer. With freedom on the line a battle was the only option Penelope had. Sylvester's Farfetch'd challenges you to a battle. Fight it here.

-Coming from Mahogany Knoll-The first bird encounter had gone off without a hitch. She didn't necessarily like having to tote the bird around (they were dense after carrying for a while!) but she'd do what they had to do in order to help. "Sooner we help Sylvester, the sooner we can get back onto the path to Goldenrod. I've heard there's lots to do around there, including some battling, gardening, shopping..." Sam began to trail off though. She only enjoyed one of those, and even then, it was her Pokemon and not her. She didn't like shopping, she didn't like gardening unless it was working on the crops back home... something frivolous as flowers seemed like too much effort when you could be growing something -somewhat- useful. Anapa pressed a paw to Sam's cheek, pulling her back to reality if even for a moment. Sam was about to walk into a tree but halted in just enough time to let out a sigh of relief. "Thanks Anapa. Got a little lost in my head there." Examining the large tree in front of her, Sam craned her neck back so she could see the tops of the tall pines that seemed to circle around her. There were tons of them, and while there were a few pinecones on the ground, none of them seemed to be HUGE. Well, wait... hold on... If she squinted hard enough, she could see a Pineco up at the top of some of the trees. Was that what Sylvester meant? "Does the poor fella not know what a Pineco is?" She used to have to take them off of trees that they'd cut down for lumber when they were raising a new barn. "Well, that makes our job easier I guess!" She shrugged, boots crunching against leaves and pine needles. "Now we just have to find that stupid bird and then we'll go!" Anapa glanced around, looking for hide or hair (or feather) of the Farfetch'd so they could take the fainted ones back to Sylvester. "I guess we'll try the same plan again, unless Commander wants to give a bird a go. I'm a little nervous though, he sometimes gets in over his head." Sam was obviously thinking aloud, but didn't necessarily want to paint the rash cat in a bad light. "I mean, not in a bad way, he just... he uh..." Anapa gave a little shrug, though. Well, a creature of little words (judgement). It worked. -Waiting for Encounter-

The thick brush of the Pine Gap made for a wonderful training area for Pokemon with sharp claws or beaks. Unlike most of the forest where the trees were to thick or were too hard or soft the ones here were absolutely perfect. It was no surprise then that as Samantha walked through the area looking for Sylvester's Farfetch'd that she would be drawn to a slashing sound behind a bunch of bushes. The sound was like a sword cutting through a plank of wood and it was quite loud. As she got closer to thensound however it suddenly stopped. After a few seconds had gone by the sound not only resumed, it also grew louder as it headed right for her. As she tried to locate the exact source of the noise a green leek suddenly swung down right in front of her nose missing it by mere inches. At the other end of the leek was Sylvester's Farfetch'd staring her in the eyes just hoping she would make the wrong move. It was fed up with taking Sylvester's orders and it had a feeling in it's gut that she was here to bring it to Sylvester. Farfetch'd was not dumb however and it purposely kept itself out of her arms reach preparing for a fight. Samantha may have gotten close tonit than it liked but that was not enough for it to be cautious. This human was going to learn a harsh lesson about messing with a Farfetch'd. The duck smacked it's leek against a bush as it waited for Samantha to try and attack. There was notngoing to be any mercy from it if she did not yield and let it enjoy the Pine Gap all to itself. It did not plan on going back to Sylvester even if it meant facing impossible odds to save it's freedom. Sylvester's Farfetch'd( Level 20) appeared. Please battle it here.

With the fainted Farfetch'd in her arms, Penelope got herself ready to return Sylvester's Pokemon. With no hands to look at the map, this time she was going to try and use her young mind's memory to locate the path toward his house. She began wandering around the forest, picking up her feet as each step would crush a fallen leaf, step on a giant tree's root, step on some muddy soil, or actually step on a grass without other obstruction. Though she felt that she didn't have to return right away, as the forest was nice to be in, and perhaps, the Farfetch'd have reason to stay out here for a bit. Maybe if it did wake up, she can convince it that they'll go back to Sylvester later, as the forest scenery was kind of nice.

As Penelope admired the lovely scenery that the Pine Gap offered an arm suddenly appeared from a branch above and as she looked up a Slakoth was lying on a tree branch just above her head. The lazy Pokemon hardly seemed to notice the trainer until it went to scratch and itch. As it turned to reach the itch it lost it's footing and fell out of the branch missing Penelope's head by inches. It did seem tontake some interest in her as it tried to crawl towards her at a snails pace. Once it was within arms length it held it's arm up and tilted it's head as it looked at her with the most clueless expression ever imaginable. The clueless Pokemon had no idea what it was doibg as it continued to stare at her wondering what she was doing there. As a few more moments passed it finally extended it's claws wanting to battle. It still seemed rather clueless even now but at least Penelope would not have to feel guilty about attacking a defenseless Pokemon. A wild Slakoth(Level 14) appeared. Please battle it here.

After another Slakoth was defeated, Penelope resumed walking through the forest while holding the fallen Farfetch'd in her arms. She would need to find the route to return back to Sylvester, however, if the avian woke up early, maybe she could agree to let the bird hang out for a bit before returning to the lackey.
She was also glad to see that in a forest this deep, no human had left their trash in here to pollute the Pokemon's habitat. If she had saw any trash, it would certainly ticked her off. She was also wondering, what kind of Pokemon typically in the Ilex Forest, undisturbed by human activities.

Penelope continued wandering the seemingly never ending trail of samey pines towering into the sky. At least she could see pricks of the sky in this area of Ilex, leaving it pleasantly illuminated as she traveled. Though, it seemed what she was searching for remained illusive. Keenly blended into the background of green needles and aging growth blanketing the branches. It was starting to feel like she had been here half an age. Finally, though, she would be blessed with a pinch of luck. The wooping of a familiar furry monkey erupted out of nowhere, echoing above her as a rustle of branches added a chorus to the excited noise. Another, deeper, call responded to the Mankey. It was hard to see what was going on, the leaves and needles swishing to and fro with the disturbance beyond the canopy. However, in the next few moments the sound of something falling in a domino of branches could be heard. In the next moment there was something large and green, a pine cone it seemed, tumbling through the trees to land next to Penelope. It was certainly not just your average pine cone, as once the last set of branches were bounded on the creature adjusted its path to scrape along the trunk of the tree instead of falling directly to the ground. It eventually stopped, rolling a little ways away from the base of the tree, and wheeled itself around to find the trainer. A wild Pineco (LV 12) appeared! Go here to fight

The Pineco exploding was both strange and intriguing to Penelope. She held the passed out Farfetch'd in her hands like a baby, and the avian twitched a little bit in its sleep even through the explosion. She was wondering when it would wake up, as no Pokemon or human can sleep for that long anyways. Maybe when it wake up, she'll let it stay with her for a bit until she's ready to return the bird to Sylvester.
She continued ventured throughout this part of the forest once more, and this time even stopping occasionally to look up on the trees. Perhaps there were Pokemon that were hiding from her up in the forest. She'll also stop and look around, perhaps a Pokemon was hiding behind tree or behind bushes too?

There were indeed. Sharp eyes leered down at the young girl continuing to trample through the forest. She was beginning to make quite the commotion in this usually peaceful place. Not many trainers bothered sticking around so long and it was starting to ruffle some feathers. Especially so with the last opponent going out with a disturbingly loud bang. Penelope's spectator continued to hunch on the branch on high. It was only until she had made her way closer to the tree the wild pokémon was perched did it puff itself up and descend upon her. With a screech it swooped just above her head as a first warning; no doubt it would agitate her into a confrontation, which was exactly what the red-brown bird was going for. It had watched long enough. It wanted some action. It wanted her out of the Pine Gap so it could hunt once more in peace. Spearow circled around and hovered nearby, cawing angrily as it flapped its pointed wings and flashed its sharp talons in a menacing fashion. A wild Spearow (LV 15) appeared! Go here to battle

"Whew! What a great fight!" Sam exhaled, letting her muscles relax as the leek Pokemon fell. It seemed as though it was going to be a difficult battle, one rife with an aggressive bird and an electric glider, but Icarus had shut down the battle before anything could really get started. Pride goeth before the fall, no? "Icarus, that was super quick and amazing!" The little glider sheepishly scratched at the back of his head before turning to Anapa, curious if she'd learned anything. Or would at least utter a sound. However, both trainer and the Pokemon were disappointed when Anapa remained silent. The only sign of life they could go off of was her physically climbing back up onto Sam's shoulder and her eyes that seemed to pierce through everything. She seriously didn't miss a single detail. It was kind of amazing, and a bit unnerving at the same time. "Guess we need to do some training around where when we've turned in the Farfetch'd! Sylvester was back at the front, right?" Sam glanced down at Anapa, who pointed without looking in the direction. The trainer nodded and picked up the second bird. "Woof! These bird brains are heavy..." Carrying two was difficult. Anapa hopped down and grabbed the legs and began to drag the bird as carefully as possible without too much difficulty. As long as the bird wasn't hurt, right? "Good thinking. Let's get back to Sylvester then."-Leaving towards Mohagany Knoll- Taking birbs and heading back to Mahogany Knoll. Word count to Nursery!

Take Down over Tackle on Deerling After the Spearow was defeated, the young girl returned to explore the lush forest. She was young and naive, but after several battles, she seemed to forget why she was here, but she remembered why she was here. (It was really just TIKI forget where he left off.) She was getting tired from walking, so she and her Pokemon sat down on the grass to relax. Even though life has a lot of challenges and struggles and battles, she did not forget to sit down and relax, to make time to metaphorically breathe and enjoy the moment. post again encounter plz

The forest was quiet for a long long time, giving Penelope and her crew a good long rest. Even the farfetch'd unconscious in her arms slipped into a pleasant slumber and had begun snoring. No doubt it wouldn't remain helpless for too much longer, especially so if Penelope succumbed to prodding the duck to get it to stop its increasingly loud snoring. It looked happy enough while it lay still in her arms, but the noise was annoying. Luckily after some very mild shuffling to get the bird to roll slightly and huge its leek even tighter than before it stopped. But not soon enough. From nearly next to the young girl a pile of leaves and underbrush rustled. Something sat up from under it. A familiar pineconey shape shook itself awake and opened its eyes, glaring right at Penelope only a few feet away. "PINECO!" it shouted angrily, obviously having just been woken from the racket caused by the farfetch'd. A wild Pineco (LV 8) appeared! Go here to fight
