"A Pichu? I'm not a fan of most electric Pokemon, heh," Ethan commented after seeing the tiny mouse Pokemon.
"Alright, Tempo, let's go for a Supersonic again!" he ordered his water Pokemon, who seemed to be enjoying hopping around. He then added, "Let's see what your new friend could do!"

Haley shrugged. “My personal favorites are fire-types, but I’m not a one type person. Electrics are pretty good too, depending on the individual.” Yokina Pichaaaa’d in response, waggling her ears. “I’m Yokina, who’re you?” The Pichu asked the Tympole, smiling kindly. “Pichu, use ThunderShock!” she ordered, watching as the Tympole sucked in a deep breath before releasing it in an aggravating sound, causing Yokina to stumble and nearly collapse. She wobbled back and forth, wimpering softly, but shook her head at her trainers call and her cheeks sparked. She raised her tiny hands, and a cloud drifted down, releasing the electricity and striking the Tympole, causing it to cry out. BATTLE  Ethan’s Tempo |Level 10| Health 3/33 9% Status Temple‘s Supersonic landed!  Haley’s Yokina |Level 10| Health 23/27 85% Status Confused Yokina‘s Thundershock landed!

"Looks like my Tempo couldn't last a few Thundershock if he were at full health. Alright, Tempo, let's try a Round!" the young trainer ordered his next move. He was gambling a little bit, since if the Pichu recovered from confusion, his Tympole would be fainted.
However, he didn't plan on this battle to be continuously long. He added a question for Haley, "This is a short battle right? Or are we using our full team? Are we doing 2 vs 2?"

Tempo nodded, bobbing his head and leaping into the air. He took a deep breath, then let out a loud squealing note. Yokina whimpered, clutching her ears. “M-master, help!” she screamed, shaking her head. Haley flinched, not enjoying the pain her character was going through. Yokina moaned softly once the attack ended, it having cleared her head. “Yeah, just two versus two. Don’t want too long of a battle, huh?” she turned to Yokina. “Now, ThunderShock!” Yokina nodded in response, closing her eyes and focusing. Sparks flew across her cheeks, before suddenly shooting forward and shocking the water-type. Tympole screamed, arching his tail as electricity ran through his body. He struggled to open his eyes, and managed a soft sound before collapsing over. “Your Tympole did a good job.” Haley commented, smiling at the fainted Pokemon. “And thanks, Yokina!” she offered, petting the electric mouse’s ears. She turned back to Ethan, waiting to see which Pokemon he would send out. BATTLE Ethan’s Tempo |Level 10| Health 0/33 0% Status Tempo‘s Round landed!

Ethan returned his fainted Tympole and sighted, "Well, I already knew that I would need more training. Since we're doing two versus two, I might as well see how my Ratz can handle your Pichu."
He swapped the Pokemon on the field and called out the next attack, "Ratz, use Quick Attack!"
The newbie trainer was hoping that his Rattata could take advantage of the confusion on the Pichu, but it's an unreliable status to depend on anyways.
