Serebii: During the Pokémon Game Show, it was announced that a brand new anime special will run to coincide with Pokémon XY. This anime is called Pokémon: The Origin, features Red & Green, is based directly on the games, and is to air on October 2nd as a special broadcast. The show features Red as he starts his journey and battles his rival Green, and the Gym Leader Brock.
What do you guys think of it?

I love this. Finally something to please the part of the fandom that hates the current anime (I mean me, obviously).
And it also looks like it will be amazing.

I'm super stoked and I hope this isn't a one time deal! It'll be interesting to see if Brock and Misty differ greatly from the ones we know in the regular anime. :DD
Brock, Red, Professor Oak, Blue's and Lance's outfits mostly resemble their clothing design in FireRed/LeafGreen.
Can't wait for October!

It's probably just gonna be an OVA or a mini-series, if anything. I doubt it will be a full-blown series.
Because why should they try to make me happy with a good series?

I still wish for a pokemon mystery dungeon mini series XD
I will watch this one though since I only watch the main anime for gym battles

Well I just watched all 4 episodes. It's so awesome :3 i wish they show more gym leaders and important battles like fighting legends |

I'm somewhat ashamed i've not actually given this a watch. Having seen a .webm or two of the battles, i'm definitely interested.
