ADIAN SAVAGE !!
Wrapped in a thick down jacket, the young man was keeping as warm as he could. With every exhale he was able to create a small vapor cloud, dancing merrily in the early morning wind. Frost covered the ground, covering the area in a dainty white. His gloved hands fidgeted with the three full pokeballs on his belt. He had heard that Cherrgrove City had a good supply of grass pokemon, something that would definitely help his team in the long run.
He was on the outskirts of the city, the faces of the house hidden behind the trees. Adian's green eyes scanned the grass around him. There was some movement here and there but none indicating pokemon activity.
He found himself sighing again and again as his searched continued. It seemed fruitless up to this point. Adian didn't blame the pokemon, they more than likely were hiding in their dens. Heck, even he wanted to go inside and curl up until the sun really came out. Still, he continued onward roaming the grass in hopes that something worthwhile would pop up.

The frosty mornings meant slim pickings for the wild Pokemon on the routes surrounding Cherrygrove. On this particular day, the frost was thinning a bit from the Sun, but was still nippy enough to bite at the skin and send a shiver down a spine or two. As the seasons neared winter, it became clearer and clearer that it would be quite the cold one indeed, if this Autumn had any indication. Leaves were practically littered across the ground, already fallen from their trees. Crunching through the frosty grasses held no stealth; it was almost impossible to trample through this quietly. Which, of course, is why Taillow was so irate. It was hard enough scrounging about for food in the early mornings without having to endure the loud, crunching footsteps of those passing through the route from the city. It was almost unbearable. At this point, Taillow had given up on sleep. The nightlife was dominated by the occasional straggling trainer, and the noctournal Pokemon. And, of course, during the day, trainers like Adian kept Taillow up. Completely fed up with it, Taillow poked it's head out of the tree it resided in and peered down angrily at the passing trainer. Taiii! It shrieked, ruffling it's feathers before spreading it's wings to glide down to the ground in front of Adian. As soon as it's claws hit the frost, a shiver went through the Pokemon, and it preened a cold wing for a moment before shooting a toxic glare at the trainer. It appeared as though nothing would change this Pokemon's mind; it wanted a battle, and now. Winner take all. Wild Taillow (Level 6) wants to battle! Will you fight or flee?

ADIAN SAVAGE !!
Adian had not noticed how loud he had been as he made he way through the route. Heavy foot steps crunching the snow below his feet gave off a loud crunch on a normally quite morning. He wasn't particularly graceful either, stomping fall sticks and kicking at rocks as they made their way into his line of vision. Of course the red head paid no mind to if he was distrubing anymore, much less pokemon. Figuring he was far enough away from the small city, he could scream and not wake a soul, not that he would of course.
So when the angry flying type poked it's head out of the tree above his head, he thought nothing of it. It wasn't until it screeched and flew down from it's perch that the man realized he was in for a fight. It had been some time since his last battle; one in New Bark Town. He had significantly leveled his own pokemon and a quick glance down at the Taillow reassured Adian it would be a quick battle.
Still, he didn't quite mind the experience gained from even quick battles. If the Taillow really wanted to throw down, who was he to deny it? "Alright buddy, you want a fight? You're going to get one!" He cried, confidence dripping from his words. He paused for a moment, running fingers across the three pokeballs on his belt. Which to choose? None of his three had any particular weaknesses to flying types. Meowth was the weakest, if not by much, of the three.
Figuring it couldn't hurt to train the cat-like pokemon, Adian choose the middle pokeball and threw it into the air. After a red flash, Meowth appeared before the Taillow. He looked back at Adian, a bit unsure of why he was chosen. Despite his feline ancestry he was quite the coward.
"Alright Meowth, we're gonna take down this Taillow. Afterwards I'll give you a snack, eh?" Adian said, realizing the obvious look of trepadation in his pokemon's eyes. This seemed to reassure Meowth who took a step towards his opponent. "Use Bite!" Adian called and Meowth complied.
Lunging forward, teeth barred in a ghoulish fashion the Pokemon closed his eyes at the last moment, hoping beyond hope his attack would hit.
Battle Summary- lvl 11, growl&bite&fake out, ability: pick up Adian chooses Meowth. Meowth uses Bite.

Motivation is gathered from many places. Some take it from loved ones. Others take it from encouragement. Some even find motivation within themselves to keep going. Meowth? Nah, Meowth just wanted a snack. In the crisp morning air, even the chill could settle in the stomach if there wasn't anything in there. Motivated by the promise of food, the young Meowth lept forward, ready to gnaw at the bird. However, Taillow had different ideas. When Meowth closed it's eyes, Taillow screeched and shot forward, knocking the feline back a few paces. The cat drug in the frost a few feet, before raising back up, borderline confused. The Quick Attack had hit it's mark. Obviously this Taillow had a few tricks up it's sleeve!
Paying it no matter, Meowth unsheathed his claws and used them for better grip against the chilled ground and debris under the frost. Taillow, realizing that Meowth was still going to attempt to attack, began to unfurl it's wings and take off. However, even though it's quick attack was lightning fast, it's take off wasn't. Meowth made it to the avian first and sunk it's fangs into one of it's wings, causing the Taillow to cry out in pain. It took a considerable amount of effort to detatch the feline, but when Taillow managed it, there was a hasty few hops of retreat to gather itself and figure out what it would do next. It was already on it's last leg, given that the first round was over. It would have to get crafty to get out of this predicament. Wild Taillow - Level |6| Health: 9/21 Current Status: Am I too quick?
Adian's Meowth - Level |11| Health: 25/30 Current Status: No, but i'm too strong! Successful Bite

ADIAN SAVAGE !!
Adian was quite impressed with the way his pokemon handled himself. It was clear that Meowth had been startled by his own attack being paused. Adian found himself wondering if his feline like pokemon would retreat, but it didn't appear so. Perhaps the adrenaline of the battle kept his feet from turning and running. Meowth used his claws to launch forward at the Taillow and sink his teeth it. "Good job!" Adian cried, whooping and clapping his hands. The sooner Meowth associated battling with positive attention, perhaps he'd stop being afraid of his own shadow.
Pleased, Adian noted the bird type didn't try to escape after the brutal attack Meowth had just landed. He was going to finish this so they could move onto the next Gym. "Meowth, use bite agan, give 'em a taste of its own medicine!" Adian cried, wanting to end the battle without another attack towards his own pokemon.
Meowth nodded and lurched forward, fulling intending to end the battle with another direct attack.
Battle Summary- lvl 11, growl&bite&fake out, ability: pick up Taillow lands a quick attack. Meowth lands a bite. Meowth attacks with another bite.

Although Adian wanted the battle to end without his Meowth receiving any more damage, Taillow was thinking otherwise as it needed to defend itself. Hungry and tired due to this blasted frost that had shrouded the route, the avian wanted nothing more than to just enjoy a nice, juicy berry or two and then drift off to sleep somewhere peaceful and quiet. But instead it was taking it's frustration out on a feline who happened to be far stronger than the Taillow itself. Breathing heavily, what it hoped to be a simple battle to exert some anger had turned into something a little more serious. The Meowth had a powerful pair of jaws on it and even though the blue bird's speed had taken the cat off guard, it was likely to be more prepared the next time it were to happen. Clicking it's beak, the Taillow began to panic, unsure on if it would be able to survive another hit like the previous one. But then, the Meowth began to move.
Flapping it's wings, the Taillow tried it's best to dodge out of the way but all of a sudden, it's speed failed it. Tumbling back to the ground with a heavy thump, the Pokemon flinched an eye shut, feeling a numb pain within it's wings, clearly from where Meowth had attacked before. Looking up, only to see the sight of Meowth pouncing towards it, the Taillow braced itself for it's end. Feeling the jaws of the feline wrap around it's body once more, the avian couldn't handle the sharp pain, eyes blanking out as they rolled back. The Taillow had fainted and with it, both Adian and Meowth were victorious!

ADIAN SAVAGE !!
Adian wasn't originally planning to capture the fainted Taillow once the battle had ended. It had been pretty anticlimactic, actually. As the poor flying type had tried to dodge his Meowth's last move, it's wings failed and left it a prime target. As Meowth finished off his opponent Adian couldn't help but frown. He hadn't exactly been looking to demolish a pokemon, but rather, to simply get some training in before the next gym battle. He found himself shaking his head as he reached for a spare pokeball.
He had no real use for the fainted Taillow, but figured later on he could possibly use it to breed or at the very least, as a trading pokemon. Tossing the small red and white ball into the air, he watched as a flash of red light surrounded the pokemon.
As it rocked back and forth, Adian withdrew his Meowth who had contented himself to simply lick at his paws, removing a tatter feather from his claws.
Battle Summary- lvl 11, growl&bite&fake out, ability: pick up Taillow fails a dodge. Meowth lands a bite. Battle end. Adian attempts to capture Taillow. -1 (if successful, please move to PC)
OOC: Could this thread be closed, please? I would like to move onto my gym thread now that I've battled in Cherrygrove.
