Immediately after exiting from the Violet City Gym, Remi wasted no time in getting her Pokemon healed up at the local Pokemon Centre. With both Gex and Weeble now recovered, she had taken them out of the city and had decided to explore around the outskirts. The surprise of just how tough the gym challenge was along with everything Falkner had revealed to her was difficult to process through. Smiling, she herself was not letting the defeat get her down too much. Walking along the outskirts of Violet City along the top of route 32, she spoke out to Gex and Weeble who were journeying with her. " That was a positive learning experience. I am sorry I both dropped you into such an ordeal however. Next time i'll be sure to get a better understanding of what we're going up against. That loss was my fault entirely." Her concerns known, Gex nodded and didn't appear the least bit bothered. He knew it was going to be a bumpy ride given her inexperience but it appeared Weeble was taking it particularly hard. No longer wobbling to and fro and spinning around like a Tasmanian devil, the Spinda was definitely crestfallen as he teetered forwards, his body slouching depressively as his arms hung out in front of him. Upset for her Pokemon, Remi was hoping a nice walk might boost his spirits. She had originally planned to enrol in a few classes at Earl's Academy, the nearby Pokemon trainer's school that Falkner had informed her of but she decided against it for the time being on the basis that such a studious environment might not be the best of worlds to drop her Pokemon in. " Weeble, please don't feel upset. The fault alone lies with me. I was silly to think we would be successful. Not because of you guys but through my own inadequacies." Letting out a small mumble, the Pokemon sighed deeply as it continued to trail on behind her. " That poor little bear... I can't stand seeing him so down in the dumps." Deciding not to push him too far with her needling and prodding, she continued walking on. It seemed as if this was a fairly long route. In all honesty, she would rather not be here but it was the closest place they could go for a walk. Given the chance, she would have preferred going right back to New Bark Town and starting from scratch. She had certainly got far too ahead of herself.

The outskirts of Violet City were relatively quiet, considering the weather. Most Pokemon were out hustling and bustling in their last attempts to store food before the winter truly hit. Leaves were always crunching under their paws and legs, and some rustled as Pokemon searched for food beneath them. Point being, there was always some sort of 'sound' happening. However, this morning, as if matching the depressed bear's mood, the route was quiet. A breeze interrupted the path occasionally, but the most that would do was send a chill. As the trainer and her two Pokemon walked, it became even more quiet deeper into the route, as if Pokemon were holding their breath in hopes she'd pass. Or, perhaps something else.. The crestfallen Spinda certainly attracted a bit of attention. No Wild Pokemon on the route had ever seen a Spinda walk in a straight line, let alone one that looked so depressed. They were always tripping over themselves with dopey smiles on their faces. There was always some sort of chuckle before the fell in a dizzy fit, but instead, this one merely trudged along. One Pokemon, content hiding in it's leaf hut as of earlier, decided that it was going to take it upon itself to try and cheer the sad bear up. Wooper slowly emerged from the leaves to pitter-patter behind the trainer, as if she were none the wiser. Little did the Pokemon know, it could probably actually get away with it. "Woop?"The Pokemon trudged alongside Spinda, beady eyes blinking slowly. The smile it wore, despite having no arms, was usually contagious. And, semi-permanent. Never having felt a sad day in it's life, Wooper couldn't sympathize, but it could at least try to cheer the Pokemon up. "Per!" It chirped, opening it's mouth wide and slapping it's tail upon the ground in an amusing gesture. To any Pokemon, it was probably funny. However, to the inexperience trainer, it was probably coming off like a challenge... Wild Wooper (Level 8) wants to turn that frown upside-down! Will you Fight or Run?

Eventually stopping in their tracks in the middle of their walk, Remi appeared to have spotted a wild Pokemon. It had been the third time such an event had occurred by she still found her mesmerised by seeing yet another unusual type of creature, living, breathing and just simply existing. Pokemon were truly miraculous things. Feeling a small bump at the back of her leg, she realised Weeble had not been paying attention to where he was going and had walked into her absent mindedly. " Oh Weeble! Cheer up. I don't want you hurting yourself if you don't pay any attention to where you're walking." Letting out a defeated mumble, the Pokemon sighed again exasperatedly. He understood Remi was burdening all the blame on herself but he knew deep down that if he had not have folded so easily at the first hurdle things may have been different. Perhaps that very reason, that weakness was why he had always been avoided and distanced from when he was living his time out in New Bark Town. Having kept her eye on the Pokemon she had spotted off in the distance, Remi opened her mouth as it sadly flitted off. " Oh... I was hoping we could make a new friend. Bit of a shame." Feeling a grasp from Gex's grip on her jacket, she looked down to him and followed his motioned gesture to focus her attention on Weeble. Looking back, she was alarmed to have so easily missed the presence of another Pokemon there. It appeared that somehow, a newt like creature had followed them and she had gone without realising. Had it not been for the keen observation of Gex, she may very well have continued on unaware the Pokemon had been tagging alongside Weeble. Taking in its smiley, happy go lucky appearance, Remi couldn't help but smile at the cute little creature. " Hello there little one! You're a cheery looking thing." Her eyes softly adjusting to Weeble, she nodded her head encouragingly. " See? Don't get so down in the dumps. It seems this Pokemon is trying to be your fri-" As the unknown creature slapped its tail down on the ground, Remi moved back unexpectedly at the action, as did Weeble who hopped off to the side with a teetering sway. Not too sure if the Pokemon was trying to initiate a challenge or was merely abundant in its attempt to cheer up Weeble, she decided she had best get some information on the uncertain little newt. Pulling out her Pokedex, she focused on her target. " --Wooper. The Water Fish Pokémon. When the temperature cools in the evening, they emerge from water to seek food along the shore.--" Nodding her head as she let the information sink in, she at least had a name to call it. " A Wooper. Thank you Pokedex. Well, it doesn't say you're anything too aggressive. I'll assume you meant that as a little gesture to cheer up Weeble." Her face smiling gently, she looked to Weeble and nodded. " It looks like Wooper wants to be your friend. Why don't we have a little friendly battle to get you cheered up?" Letting out a lacklustre mumble, Weeble drooped his head to the side and nodded half heartedly. It would only get torn a new one like it did up against the Pidgey. " Thank you Wooper! It means a lot if you can help us cheer up our friend." Deciding to reassure Weeble he was strong, she decided to use the move she had learnt about from her Spinda card. " Try using Uproar! And don't mumble, go for it at the top of your lungs! You're a big, strong bear!" Pulling a less than enthusiastic face, Weeble wobbled forwards to initiate in the friendly duel.

Tilting it's head curiously as a voice seemed to echo out from the small, red device in the female trainers hand, whatever it was apparently helped to determine the Wooper's intentions. It had wanted to cheer this sad, little Spinda up and luckily, the trainer twigged on. A wide smile stretching across it's face, the creature nodded it's over sized head frantically in agreement before turning to look at Weeble. Surely by now, his spirits would be lifted and with it would come the eccentric movements every Spinda was known to have. Only, Weeble didn't react in the way that the Wooper had wanted. Sighing and fumbling about as if not caring what so ever, whatever was plaguing the mind of the swirly eyed bear was still apparent. Exchanging a glance with the human, the Wooper was interestingly intelligent, as it appeared to understand every word that she was saying. Hopping from one foot to the next, the Wooper was energetic and ready to go. This Pokemon was cheerful and absolutely needed to help this one, who was so down in the dumps.
Moving from one foot to the other and shaking it's body, as if trying to tell Weeble to warm up and get some movement flowing, the poor little Spinda merely sighed. He wanted to be of more use in the Gym battle for Remi and with the feeling of guilt flooding him, he just couldn't shake off this almost depressed feeling. Back in Newbark Town, he had been used to living life on his own, so was he scared that now he had met Remi and relied upon her company, that he was scared of being left behind? His body slumping forward at the thought, the less than energetic Spinda opened his mouth and out came a very half hearted Uproar. There was no soul behind his voice, no passion, which meant that the attack wasn't going to do all that much damage. More worried about the Spinda than victory, the Wooper tried to think up a way to make it seem like Weeble was winning. As if a lightbulb appeared on the top of it's head, the wild Wooper devised a plan and as the less than feeble sound waves approached it, decided to put on a little act.
Throwing it's own body backward to act like the impact was that bit more powerful, the Wooper rolled it's body into a ball and rotated back a few paces. Shimmying on the spot a few times before popping itself back open, it wondered if it's overdramatic throw back had sparked some inspiration in Weeble... But it hadn't. Still wearing it's usual smile in hope to lighten his spirits, by this point, the Wooper had no other choice. Taking in a deep breath, a burst of water streamed from his mouth, hitting Weeble in the face with a Water Gun. Maybe that would wake him up!

Clasping her hands together as she hoped the entire situation would turn around Weeble's downtrodden feelings, she watched as he went to open his mouth. Have tempted to cover her ears as the last uproar he had performed had almost made her deaf, she decided to bear the excruciating noise in the hopes her reaction would help in boosting his spirits. However, as his mouth let out a noise, she couldn't help but feel a little let down as it seemed he was still very much beat up over the previous loss. As the raucous sound waves travelled over to the Wooper, Remi watched with little hope this would work all that well but she was amazed to see the friendly Wooper play along. Reacting in a way that can only be described as over the top, Remi couldn't help but be surprised by the impact the move had. "Oh! Look Weeble! You really are powerful. The Wooper really couldn't withstand that attack."
Perking up slightly, the Spinda merely let out another dispirited sigh as it realised this was all to good to be true. The last uproar it had done had ruffled the feathers of the Pidgey, that much was true but it had not secured them the advantage. If he had done no training in the meantime, how could his move cause such a reaction to this Wooper. Letting his arms dangle once more, his dejected behaviour would perhaps lead to an important lesson for the down beat Pokemon. Unaware the Wooper had got back up and was now readying a counter blow, the Spinda looked up and not a second later received a sudden forcible stream of water being dabbed in his face. Unable to stop the continuous stream, Weeble attempted to pat away the water gun attack but to no avail. As the Wooper continued on relentlessly, Remi's Spinda could feel his mouth fill up with an overflow of water. Eventually causing him to topple over backwards, the Spinda landed on his rear, his head spinning around in a daze as his eyes swirled around. "Oh no! Weeble!" Still so inexperienced as a trainer, Remi wanted nothing more than to baby and console him but a sudden thought had entered her mind. Perhaps she would use this as an example.
If attempting to trick his happiness had not worked by playing up the effects of his uproar, perhaps this Pokemon would react better to some tougher love. "I know you're down but you can't just throw in the towel. You have to give it your all." Letting her words sink in with the Spinda, she looked over to the Wooper and realised just how much of a help this newt like being was trying to be. "Mr. Wooper I am very grateful for your assistance." Bowing her head sincerely, she had to admit, she would have loved for this cheery little fellow to journey along side them. "I hope you don't mind this invitation. I'm sure Weeble and Gex would love to have you accompany us. I most certainly would." Reaching into her pull bag, she took out a capture device. However, this just wasn't any capture device. It was blue, red and white. Much different from the basic ones. Given how friendly and helpful this Pokemon was, she wanted to ensure he had a special device to live in. "Let's give this a go." Taking a careful aim, she tossed it forward genteelly in the hopes of not hurting the Wooper in case she had thrown the capsule too hard.

The sound, while still horrendous, was only a mere shadow of what the bear could really let loose, which only made the Wooper more determined to turn Weeble around. Spinda were a noble race! Despite the ridicule they received from outsiders, it took a lot to function as well as Spinda did while dizzy. Weeble's trainer seemed nice enough, and was truly doing her best to help her depressed Pokemon. However, Wooper, not being a very curious oriented Pokemon, merely focused at the task at hand, instead of trying to figure out why Weeble was so upset. It hurt Wooper to attack the bear, but perhaps a bit of a wake up call was in order? The pains of battle could help strengthen will, which was what Weeble needed. However, Weeble also needed his trainer. The words that were coming out of the trainer's mouth made Wooper's dopey smile even wider. Yes! That's what Weeble needed! Wooper's tail slapped against the ground in agreement. For something that only had two legs, a tail, and a permanent facial expression, the Wooper seemed to be quite the expressive Pokemon. At her words, Weeble seemed to perk up. Wooper did too, at the mention of a trainer. While the Pokemon had never really thought about travelling with a trainer, the idea didn't seem like such a terrible one! As the girl dug into her bag for a capsule, Wooper expected the standard red and white ones it'd seen used in other battles. It hadn't expected the Great Ball. Touched by the gesture, Wooper allowed itself to be willed into the ball without so much as a second thought. While the capsule shook, it was merely customary. The ball was accepting the Wooper's data, and the Wooper settled down to get cozy in it's new abode. Even if it wanted to break out for whatever reason, that wouldn't be happening. Besides, the trainer wasn't so bad, and Weeble and the Treeko seemed like good Pokemon. Wooper had lucked out, it seemed. The ball jiggles once, twice and thrice! ... Successful Capture!

Heart racing at the prospect of adding another Pokemon to her team, Remi watched wide eyed as the Greatball soared onwards, nearing ever closer to the cheery little Wooper. Even Gex lowered his glasses and peered over the top of them to see if they would be having another member added to their fold. That odd smelling fellow from earlier had deposited a load of Pokemon with Remi, all of which were stolen goods, but he was pleased Remi was standing on her own two feet in securing these. To grow as a trainer, she was beginning to get the hang of the basics and for that Gex was content. Even Weeble had picked up his depressive stance and inquisitively looked to see what was going on. Shaking his head wildly, he at least got rid of some of the damp excess. " Even though we suffered a pretty harsh defeat, we can get back up and move on to enjoy moments like these." Smiling gently, she looked away from the Greatball as it began rocking to affix her view on her Spinda. " Just because we lost doesn't mean that's the end of it all. Just remember if you fall down, to pick yourself back up and keep on going." Nodding her head, she hoped her downbeat Pokemon would understand the feeling behind her message. " And if you feel you can't get back up on your own, that's when you rely on us. We, as your friends, will make sure you get back on track." As she finished her little speech, she was ecstatic to see the capture had worked, there had been no real signs of a struggle meaning the Wooper had wanted to come along willingly. Dashing over, she picked up the Greatball and wasted no time in bringing out the newly acquired friend. " Mr. Wooper! Thank you for deciding to journey with us." Not really expecting to have been released out of its new home so quickly, the Wooper looked around a bit blankly before opening its mouth wide, letting out a goofy chuckle and paddling its little feet about as it slammed its tail back and forth on the ground. " You're such a cute little Wooper. And always smiling. Hmmm..." Wanting to give all her Pokemon a nickname as a token of her affection for them, a suitable name popped into her mind quite easily. " I know. I'll call you Smiles. It suits your cheery grin." Slapping his tail even harder before waddling around three hundred and sixty degrees on the spot, Smiles the Wooper appeared pleased by this name. Wincing his eyes slightly behind his shades, it appeared Gex was a little nose out of joint by having yet another noisy, raucous team mate in their midst. Gripping a bit tighter to Remi's jacket, he let it pass, putting aside his feelings and instead choosing to be pleased for the group as a whole. Morose still, Weeble sauntered over gingerly as he approached Smiles. Pulling bit of an unsure expression, the Spinda swayed from side to side as it looked down at its feet. He was still a bit upset over the loss but being around such a happy go lucky creature with such an contagious spirit was hard not to be swept along with it. Looking back up, Weeble nodded as he showed his appreciation for the Wooper's help. Wobbling back and forth on the spot, Smiles laughed heartily as he accepted the Pokemon's gratitude. Noting he was still down in the dumps, Remi decided that their friend needed just a little bit more cheering up. Clapping her hands, she gestured her head in the direction back to Violet City and smiled. " Come on guys! Let's make our way back and rest for the day. The sun is setting and I think we've got our depressive blues all cleared up." Marching as the ring leader, her Pokemon followed in suit. The only problem was, they had a tall patch of grass to cross through before they could make it back safely into the confines of the city. " Now, now. Don't get lost. Stick together everyone." Moving in, Remi paid careful attention to stamp down the grass to give her Pokemon a clear trail for them to follow whilst also looking out for any Pokemon as she didn't want to accidentally harm anything that was lurking in the safety of the grass. OOC: Wooper Name: Smiles Gender: Male Level: 8 Attacks: Water Gun, Tail Whip, Mud Sport Ability: Water Absorb Nature/Personality: Light hearted, comical and downright silly at times, it was these very qualities that led to a chance encounter with Remi and her team. Wanting to cheer up the downtrodden Weeble at the time, the Wooper employed a range of silly antics to try and put a smile on the Pokemon's face. With how funny it was, Remi was all too keen on adding the Pokemon to her team. Now travelling alongside as a steadfast companion, the Pokemon aspires one day to have its own stand up show.
Super happy for this Wooper. =D

The Wooper had been a willing soul to join Remi, and would improve the team simply with his dopey smile. Yes, the Wooper was strong, but Remi didn't seem the type to just go for totalitarian brute strength. In fact, it would almost seem quite the opposite. Either way, the team was on their way into the depths of the Route. The tall grass usually proved a problem for many of the smaller Pokemon, but the quick thinking trainer had solved that by stamping it down to make a path for her team. It was evident that the girl was watching to make sure she didn't step on Pokemon, either. However, after a few steps in the quiet grasses, a loud crunch was heard. It wasn't a Pokemon. It was a den. Thankfully the Pokemon that owned said den wasn't far, but unfortunately, the Pokemon that owned said den wasn't far. With an angry hiss, the spider Pokemon skittered to the remains of it's den, completely ignoring the blue-haired trainer and her following posse of Pokemon as it mourned the loss of it's home. It's quick, beady eyes calculated the situation. Den, crushed. Boot next to den. Boot connected to trainer. Pokemon follow trainer. Spinarak was a Pokemon. Half Life 3 confirmed. Angrily glaring up at her and brandishing the face on it's lower abdomen, Spinarak wriggled it's legs in anger. This human had to pay for what she'd destroyed! A new den, at least! Or something! Since it appeared as though she didn't have one on her, a battle would just have to do. Wild Spinarak (Level 11) wants to battle! Will you Fight or Flee?

Hoping to act as a source of leadership to her Pokemon, Remi felt at ease taking the initiative and ensuring that her Pokemon were looked after and kept in line. If anything, it was a nostalgic and reminiscent feeling of her times back in the Goldenrod slums spent looking after the younger members of their group. A total bunch of street urchins, they'd get into their fair share of antics but being one of the older of the group, she made sure that they never overstepped a line. The one thing she was grateful for at the very least, was how well behaved this bunch of Pokemon were. Gex was a sucker for discipline and remained affixed to her jacket sleeve. Weeble, whilst clumsy, at least did his best to keep out of trouble and with how down in the dumps he was, seemed to be not taking such wild steps everywhere which otherwise would leave to a chaotic mess being made. Smiles, although new to the group, appeared to want to just tag along, making the odd goofy laugh now and again whilst rabbiting away to himself excitedly. " Okay guys, careful now. Wow... This grass is seriously overgrown." Once more showing how inexperienced she was as a trainer, Remi had been totally oblivious to the fact that vast sections of routes had respected bits of wild that were left to their own, a haven for Pokemon just looking to live with their lives. Having grown up in a modern, urbanised dwelling, it was uniform and barren of any natural life having its way. Which is why what happened next would jar her somewhat. She wasn't your typical girly girl who would scream out loud but given the size of what she would encounter, it definitely left her a little shaken. Hearing a loud crunch, Remi feared the worst but it was only when a large hiss drew her attention that she cautiously looked around, eventually spotting the angered Spinarak angrily engaging her. " O-Oh!" Noticing how aggressive and large it was, especially compared to the eight legged creatures they had back in Goldenrod, she had a feeling now wasn't the best of times to be getting entangled with it. " I'm sorry there. I'll back off... We didn't mean to intrude." Slowly retreating her steps, she moved away, hoping not to agitate it further. She had Pokemon to protect her but she could tell from its demeanour it wasn't worth getting into a fight over. Sadly, unbeknownst to her the damage had already been done. " Alright guys, detour. I don't think that path is going to be practical, eheh." Taking a longer way round, she began diverting off to return to their original goal. - Remi flees from the Spinarak -

Stepping cautiously around the Spinarak, the large spider allowed her escape and scuttled back off into the wild. Still angered that she had managed to destroy it's den with her clumsy, human footsteps, it had wanted to unleash a bit of revenge but since she had Pokemon with her, had pondered if a battle was even worth it. Instead, the wild bug decided to find somewhere else to build a better, much safer home, away from the intruding footsteps of humans.
Having taken the route to head back to town after helping out with Weeble's blues somewhat, Remi had atleast caught herself a friendly Wooper. But her evening was far from over. In the distance, a Pokemon knew that this trainer deserved a gift. A gift for her gentle and kind nature, unassuming personality as well as love and appreciation for all things living. She had always survived on the sheer basics without being demanding for luxuries, this Pokemon knew all and Remi was on it's list to receive something special. Having already delivered some eggs in the area, the blue haired female was next on the list and with a hop and a jump, began to approach the trainer from the front. For Remi, she was soon able to spot the sight of an unusually coloured Lopunny, bearing a basket of brightly coloured eggs. Approaching the trainer with a smile, the Easter Pokemon handed the human a Cyan coloured Egg before simply bouncing right off again, without a single shred of explanation.
The Easter Lopunny has appeared to hand an egg to Remi! Remi received a Cyan Egg! Store the Egg in your Party, PC Box or Egg Incubator?
Having been distracted by the appearance of the Lopunny and most likely enthralled by a Pokemon Egg which had been forced into her hands, Remi was left as a sitting duck as a wild Pokemon had locked into her location. Rustling in a tree close by, the air was soon filled with a soothing tune of a bird singing, with it's chirp like cries echoing on the wind. Then, with a spread of it's wings, emerged from the tree and swooped right above the tall grass where Remi and her teamed stood. The Pokemon appeared to be a Pidgey, the very same breed that just handed defeat to Weeble in their previous Gym challenge. Drawn in by the vivid colour of the egg in her hands, that seemed to almost match the humans hair, the Pidgey fluttered on the spot. Cooing out rhythmically once more, it appeared to be challenging Remi to a battle, maybe for the Egg itself.
A wild Pidgey (Level 9) has appeared! Please select a Pokemon to use in battle.

It was surreal. Remi had come across a lot of strange things already in her journey alongside Pokemon. Such a fact was to be expected of someone who had never really come in contact with Pokemon growing up throughout the years. She was still getting her head around the whole concept of training and battling let alone all the weird and wonderful looks of the creatures she was coming across. Even seeing their depictions in the card game had not really prepared her for their real life counterparts. Seeing such a massive spider just then being a prime example of this but what would come next wouldn't just take the biscuit, it'd take entire biscuit tin itself. Having entered a stretch of grass that wasn't nearly as tall as the blades they had been traversing before, Remi stopped dead in her tracks, causing both Smiles and Weeble to go bumping into either leg, having expected her to carry on. The oncoming sight was enough to make even Gex lower his glasses and give the crazy sight a dead pan stare. Noticing a humanoid figure coming hopping and jumping towards her, she stopped, her mouth slightly ajar as she was unsure of what exactly was going on. " Ummm... Is that a Pokemon?" Unable to really put a finger on it, she remembered back when she had a part time job in the Goldenrod Department Store and had to dress up in a head to toe full body suit bunny costume, interacting with shoppers and handing eggs out to kids. With what was becoming almost natural she pulled out her Pokedex and pointed at the approaching Pokemon that appeared to be daintily coming her way with a hop and a skip. " --Lopunny. The Rabbit Pokémon. Extremely cautious, it quickly bounds off when it senses danger. It is very conscious of its looks and never fails to groom its ears. It runs with sprightly jumps. --" Her eyes blinking, she barely had any time at all to put away her Pokedex let alone repeat the Pokemon's name to let it sink in as the Lopunny had now approached her. Having understood from the data entry that they extremely cautious, Remi was amazed to see a Pokemon come up to her so friendly. " Hello there Lopunny! It's a pleasure to meet you. Oh, hm?" Watching as the Pokemon brandished a beautiful cyan coloured egg, she stretched her arms out and received it. " An e-egg? Wait! Lopunny!" Watching as it bounded off, Remi was left scratching her head, or would have been had it not been for the Pokemon egg she was now carrying. " How strange! The Lopunny in the Pokedex entry was of an entirely different colour. And to be given this egg... Is this a normal tradition for Pokemon trainers?" Chalking it up to her ignorance, she lifted the egg up to her ear and was surprised happily to hear faint noises from the inside. " I wonder... Is this a Pokemon egg?" Looking down to Weeble and Smiles, they both appeared to nod their head, obviously recognising a Pokemon egg when they saw one. " Very well. In that case, i'll look af-HMMMMM?!" Unable to advise of her plan to her team, the sudden rustling of a nearby tree alerted her to the presence of a Pokemon. " Ooooooh! This is not the time. Especially when I need to be careful and look after this egg." Worried it would be a reprisal from that nasty looking spider from earlier, her anticipation was eased somewhat as she heard the beautiful sound of the Pokemon's cry travelling on the wind. " Such a beautiful melody." Wondering what sort of creature could have sung such a delightful song, her uncertainty would soon be answered. As the avian creature flew out from its tree, Remi gasped as she would recognise such a Pokemon from anywhere. " A PIDGEY!" Having sworn to Falkner that she too would attempt to make friends with one, this seemed like a prime opportunity, even if it did look a little too keen on the egg in her arms. " Where you the beautiful singer from earlier? It's a pleasure to meet you Pidgey." Not needing her cards or the Pokedex, she was already quite informed about the Pokemon at this stage. As enthusiastic about the prospect of inviting this new member into their group, Weeble seemed a bit unsure. Nervously holding his arms together and kicking the dirt off the ground, he wasn't too sure about having a constant reminder around them of the fight he had lost. Noticing Weeble seemed down all of a sudden, Remi realised this would be the perfect opportunity to turn his crestfallen sorrows around. It may not have been Falkner's Pidgey but it was of the same species and it'd hopefully do wonders in helping the Spinda realise he wasn't weak. " Weeble, don't be sad little one. In order to cheer you up, this is why i'll be asking you to invite the Pokemon to our group." Smiling gently, Weeble looked up with a sudden start. The very idea was crazy but given it was coming from such a warm and caring trainer, the spot panda had little say in the matter. Letting out a sigh, he careened forward with a dizzying display of footwork and assumed his position. " I believe in you Weeble. Every dizzy step of the way. The only reason why you failed was because of my inexperience but i'll make sure we all get stronger. Show Pidgey your Uproar! And don't mumble now!" Clutching the egg in her arms, she hoped this would be it. Observing from her arm, Gex watched carefully as Smiles paddled back and forth on the spot as it let out a raucous bout of cheers in supporting their team mate. OOC: Placing the egg in my incubator but for the sake of RP, having Remi hold onto it.

One way for Weeble to get over his loss against Falkner was to fight against the same species that had caused this bout of depression. Whilst this particular bird didn't belong to Falkner himself, it was still a Pidgey and with this bit of battling experience, it would help him grow and hopefully make his second time around against Falkner flow more smoothly. With the watchful eyes of Gex, care from Remi and side line support of Smiles, Weeble gained a little bit more confidence. With his friends by his side, he was bound to get better. Against this very Pidgey and future opponents to come. He had been given a chance to live differently than his annoying brethren under the guidance of Remi and if he didn't take the bull by the horns here to try and over come this feeling of sorrow, he may very well end up regretting it.
The Pidgey, who was completely oblivious to the reasoning behind the sudden droop of Weeble upon seeing it's visage, tilted it's head in a curious manner. That was the first time a human had spoken out to it. Being known as a common Pokemon so often ignored, it was almost a surprise to the Pidgey that Remi had actually accepted it's challenge, even if her arms were tightening their grip around the luscious looking egg. Turning back to the Spinda, he stilled seemed somewhat unsure, which gave the Pidgey enough time to react first. Beating it's small wings with powerful flaps, the Pidgey whipped up a small Gust attack, very similar to the way Falkner's own Pidgey had attacked. Momentarily taken off guard, as if thrown back into the repeat of the battle, Weeble instinctively went to defend himself by holding his arms up in a protective position.
Incredibly, the attack didn't hurt anywhere near as much as it did before. Maybe that previous bit of training with Smiles had already helped? Feeling a bit more willing at this point, Weeble opened his mouth and with much more energy, began to rant, rave and shout. Causing a major Uproar unlike any he had made before, the sound wave rippled and struck the wild Pidgey, ruffling up it's feathers and causing it to hesitantly back off somewhat.

Sensing still the uncertainty and dejected feeling within her Pokemon still, Remi continued to smile reassuringly. Bit by bit, they would work on restoring this Pokemon's spirited personality. A lot of what Falkner had said was completely alien to her but things like this, she could definitely understand and grasp. If anything, it was the same approach she had taken when she was looking after all her younger friends in the Goldenrod slums. "I know people and Pokemon seem so vastly different but really, i'm sure we're closer in some aspects than others." Watching as Weeble at least stood up to bat, it would all hinge on whether or not Weeble would believe in himself. Taking a quick glance at the Pidgey, it was clear it had nowhere near the level of finesse or discipline Falkner's had, but it was still a worthy foe in its own right. "You can do it Weeble, believe in yourself." Still hesitant, it appeared the Pidgey would capitalise on this. Gearing itself up to attach, the Pokemon began to flap its wings. As new this as she was, even Remi could recognise the build up to this attack. "Careful Weeble, it's going to use Gust. Just like in the gym battle. Just do your best and we'll pull through." As the wind began to build up, Remi had to clutch onto her card necklace as it began to move about wildly, her hair also following the will of the wind. This cheer up session all hinged on this next attack.
Watching as a gust cloud built up and came stirring towards Weeble, she bit her bottom lip as despite all her words of confidence, even she was feeling unsure. Defending himself with his arms going up in a cross guard, Remi's eyes widened as whilst the attack did some noticeable damage, Weeble was in no way as bad shape as he had been in the battle against Falkner. "Weeble!" She cried out joyfully. Even the adorable little Spinda appeared to be surprised by how well it took the gust attack, blinking around as it tried to make sense of the situation. Perhaps Smiles had bought out something in the downbeat Pokemon. Feeling a rousing sense of confidence build up in, Weeble stepped forward and unleashed a mighty raucous, utilising its uproar attack. Painfully recoiling a little, Remi was unable to fully shield her ears as she was protecting the egg. Although the noisy ruckus was hard to endure, she brushed it aside over how happy she was her Pokemon had gone from crestfallen to letting his spirit soar. Letting out a mini uproar of its own, Smiles bounced up and down as he cheered on his friend. "That was amazing, Weeble! You really pulled out the stops there." Praising her own Pokemon, she was quick to look at the wild Pidgey.
It had sung such a beautiful song earlier and it had just been assaulted by a horrible jamboree of notes. Its feathers ruffled, Remi couldn't help but feel sorry for the Pokemon. At this point, it was up to her to make sure the Pokemon was ok. That and she had promised Falkner that she too would one day own a Pidgey under her care. Awkwardly holding onto the egg whilst struggling to shift through her bag, she eventually bought out an unused Pokeball, one of the last couple she had received. Even though she had just started this journey she was already running so low on supplies which was unusual for a character such as Remi who conserved as much as possible. "Don't worry Pidgey, i'll welcome you into our team if you are willing. We owe you a debt of gratitude for helping out Weeble here." Priming the ball haphazardly, she lifted it up and with a gentle toss, hoped to capture the avian. "Definitely will have to go shopping after this... Hmmm... If only I had some money." Having lost most of her savings against Falkner, another difficult aspect of being a trainer came to light.

As Weeble finally began to calm down from his frantic Uproar, the Pidgey winced an eye open cautiously, looking around with uncertainty. All the Spinda had done was shout but the sound waves which boomed from the notes of his vocal cords had struck the Pidgey painfully, as well as giving the avian a pounding headache. Finding it somewhat hard to concentrate now as it's own mind began to pulsate, the Pidgey wasn't about to give up but also found it difficult to summon to motivation to even move. Staggering a step for two forward, the bird planned on kicking some sand up at the Spinda, in hopes of stopping him from making any more noise. With an attack such as that distracting him, the bird could then do something a bit more physical but regardless, this planning in it's head was about to be for naught. Looking across to Remi as her voice temporarily halted the battle, the duo of Pokemon watched as she precariously balanced the egg whilst rummaging for a Pokeball.
Blinking it's large eyes, the Pidgey was uncertain as to why it was going to be captured, after not really showing off the rest of it's strength. But really, the Pidgey had helped more than it anticipated. Managing to survive the Gust, it gave Weeble hope that he would be able to prove himself more useful the next time they faced Falkner and his sorrow had since fled. Still, as the ball soared through the air and encapsulated the Pidgey, it held a natural instinct of trying to fight itself free but ultimately failed. The ball coming to a halt, the Pidgey didn't mind being captured, maybe it could live on better food now that it was in human company.
WIGGLE. WIGGLE. WIGGLE. . . . TING!

Eyes open with wonder, it wasn't the first time she had caught a Pokemon at this stage in her journey but the fact it was a Pokemon she wanted so desperately, made this all the more nail biting than ever. " I do hope this works... When we face Falkner in a rematch, and we most definitely will, I want to show him how far we've come. And that i've made good on my promise. After seeing him use his bird Pokemon in battle, i'm keen on looking after one myself." Swaying back and forth, she smiled as it appeared the Pokeball rocked back and forth without too much sign of a struggle. So far, every Pokemon she had captured, she had approached them with an invitation, a small word to reassure them they would join as friends, rather than a trainer endlessly working their new quarry. It may not have been that much of a working influence on the captures themselves but from an outsider's perspective, it would almost seem as if Remi's kind words acted as a boon to her attempts. A resounding click later and Remi heard all she needed to know. " We did it guys! And Weeble you did it too! We managed to accept a new friend in our group thanks to your strength. Don't ever doubt yourself. You are not weak." Struggling with the egg still, Gex took this as a prompt. Swinging off her arm and landing with excellent poise, the tree gecko Pokemon slunk over and picked up the newly acquired Pokemon. Returning back to his spot on her sleeve, Remi clasped the ball with a hand and thought carefully, her eyes closed as she decided on a name. " Songbird. That name works. Having heard its beautiful song earlier, it's only fitting." Smiling, she placed the Pokeball on her belt. Given she was a novice, it was filling up considerably. Things were definitely coming a long way for her. Realising her bag was near empty aside from a few essentials and mementos, she decided now would probably be the best time to make a bit more space, gift something to Weeble and secure her egg and free up her arms. Kneeling down, she handed the egg to Gex who grasped it with some strain as it was about the size of him. Rummaging through her bag, she bought out some sweatbands which she ushered in closer Weeble to see. " Weeble, I want you to have these. I can tell from that fight you've realised that what happened in that battle wasn't your fault. And you've learnt from it. Takes these as a gift from me. That way you'll always have something of mine to remind you of me and how highly I think of you." Helping the Spinda put on the gear, Remi let him stand back as she took in his appearance. " Perfect." She smiled calmly. Doing a few spins on the spot, Remi giggled at how much happier he was. Knowing he was happy, this in turn made her happy. That was all she wanted for her Pokemon. " Come on, it's been a long day and it's becoming late. We'll retire back to our boarding room in the Pokemon Centre and then we can decide on what we're going to do... Part of me wants to retrace our steps to the beginning." Letting her mind settle on that note, she realised they would tread faster ground if she recalled them. " Alright guys, i'll run on ahead, you guys return!" Calling back Smiles and Weeble, she placed them proudly on her belt holster and looked at the route clear ahead. " Just you and me Gex. Let's dash on and turn in for the night." Running on ahead, Remi's pace was filled with an eagerness to grow as a trainer and it wouldn't be long before she made it back into Violet and honed on in to the Pokemon Centre she was sleeping overnight at. Slowing down as she saw the building up ahead, her mind had also been dwelling on the supposed thief from earlier. Pulling out a wanted poster she had ripped off for reference, she looked down at it absent mindedly as she went over it all. " And then there's this problem... I can't just sit on these stolen Pokemon. I need to be proactive and find their original trainers." So wrapped up in her thoughts, Remi had not seen the gentleman coming out of the Violet City Pokemon Centre doors. As they whisked open, the man stepped forward just as Remi took a step and caused something of an altercation. Stumbling backwards slightly, Remi lost the grip on the wanted poster as it floated to the ground like a wayward feather. Nearly tumbling backwards, Remi landed on her rear as she bore the brunt of the impact. Glad her egg wasn't landed on, she quickly got up, Gex readjusting his glasses from the bump. As she did, the poor girl received an earful. " WATCH WHERE YOU'RE... Hm? Oh." Their voice raised but emotionless, Remi was taken off guard by the rather uncomfortable tone. Even more so as it appeared they went from angry to reserved in a mere matter of seconds. " I'm sorry... Sorry I-Hm?" Her eyes taking in the sight of the male, she noted his rather stunning fashion, a complete contrast of white and black. What was more noticeable was the eye patch on his face. Following his line of sight, her eyes were met with the rudimentary drawing of the Joey Johnson fellow. Had he recognised the person in the poster? " Excuse me..." She asked hesitantly but deciding this would be a good chance to get to the bottom of this. " Do you know the man in that poster?" Bending down, the suave male picked up the poster and examined it with a particular fury in his eye. Looking over the picture, it was clear to the man it was someone he had met many moons ago. The wild grin, the purple bandanna, the blonde tuft of hair poking out of the headpiece. It was none other than the Unova Festival mugger who had stolen the Pokemon he had acquired off the black market. " Hmph. In a sense." He muttered, lost in thought as he batted off her query. Clearly wanting to know more, Remi opened her mouth but stopped herself from asking further. She could tell this gentleman was a man who preferred not to be interrupted. Rustling the poster to straighten over the creases, he read out loud with a mutter. " Wanted... Dead or alive... The Outlaw Thief... Joey Johnson..." His eyes stopping there, he noticed the sum of the reward but what concerned him more was that he now had a name to put to a face. This would make things easier in his hunt. Lowering down the poster, he narrowed his eyes as he leaned his head back at seeing Remi standing there inquisitively, obviously wanting to ask further. Deciding to see where this would go, the man spoke up. " This vagabond was none other than the crook who robbed me blind at the Unova Festival some time ago. Scum." Careful with his words, he was keen to highlight some details over the others, after all, from his perspective he had done nothing wrong. " I'm so sorry to hear that mister! Umm... If you don't mind, I want to have a word with you more if that is ok? I too have met this man. He unloaded a number of Pokemon onto me. Stolen, clearly." She concluded, her head motioning a gesture to the wanted poster. As stern as ever, Tobias replied. " Mmmm... Let us check." Before she led the way into the Pokemon Centre so they could browse through her PC, Remi only found it right to introduce herself. " I'm Remi. Remi Westbrook...?" Her words hanging, even Tobias was aware of what she was after. " Dillinger. Tobias." Letting out a series of chimps, the monkey that rested on his shoulder and was snuggling up to the eye patched side of his face seemed to greet himself. Gex however didn't appear all too keen on saying hello, sensing Tobias' shady character. Something was definitely off about this fellow. Entering into the Pokemon centre together, Remi was quick to login and boot up her Pokemon storage box. " He gave me so many... Surely there must be something there of yours that he stole?" His eye observing keenly, he took control of the keyboard and mouse and began shifting through the list of Pokemon. Noting each and everyone, he didn't see anything of his. Instead, there was a list of rather rare and unique Pokemon. As much as he would like to have claimed them, there was no point in laundering goods that were hot. That was just asking for trouble. Starting to put on something of an act, Tobias dropped his emotionless state and sighed. " No... Sadly nothing. If anything, this proves this criminal's reputation. Not only did he dump all those stolen Pokemon on you but he's taken many others including my own. A true scoundrel." Playing up his master's words, Prometheus let out a woeful sigh as he slumped on Tobias' shoulder. " Nooooo...! Don't be discouraged. I'm sure we can bring this criminal to justice and return to you your rightful Pokemon. As well as all these stolen creatures. The poor things." Not really understanding Remi all that well at this point, her strong ideals of righteousness and justice, he raised an eyebrow of uncertainty. " You plan to take him in?" Although his face expressed a look of concern, beneath the façade was a vile smirk. " Hmph. A bleeding heart. Just perfect. Perhaps I can use this girl... If she's so willing to take on this mugger, that will only make it easier for me to exact revenge." Nodding her head, Remi had been dwelling on what to do for some time but having met Tobias, it had only steeled her resolve. " My encounter with him was purely by chance but after thinking about these poor Pokemon and what's happened to you, I can't just sit idly by. Someone needs to take action. I may not be experienced as a trainer but I will see what is right is done." Secretly counting his blessings Tobias, nodded. " You are a true example to us all... Remi? Remi." "Using her as a pawn against this thief, i'll surely have the upper hand." Realising he could cement the misguided thought that he was entirely innocent in the matter and shed off any suspicion against himself, Tobias decided on following through with a gesture. " I would help but I am alas tied up in my business affairs. Perhaps I can be of some assistance... Here." Logging her out of her box storage, he quickly made a connection with his network and bought forward a spare Pokemon he had acquired that was of surplus. But given this girl's drive to seek him bought to justice, it seemed only fitting. " I present to you a Pokemon of my own. I give you... Justice." As the ball materialised in the Pokeball depository, he grabbed the Pokeball and handed it to Remi. " If you are to bring this villain to justice, I want you to have this Pokemon. It has never done me wrong and I am sure it will be of aid to you." " Hmph... I have no adherence to the idea of justice but i'm sure this will bring that thug to a just end." Accepting the Pokeball, Remi was flattered. " I... Wow... Are you sure...? That is very meaningful of you. Allow me to see it!" Summoning the Pokemon, Tobias attempted to intervene. " Argh! NO! Don't... Uhhh..." Letting it go, he would rather not meet the Pokemon again but pretending to play nice he greeted the rather lively Pokemon that had popped out, hoping it wouldn't hold any grudges from being fished out of the sea from earlier. " Ahhh... Justice. This is your new trainer. Please aid her in her quest to bring a criminal to justice." Spinning around before moving its points around in a rather groovy manner, the Pokemon let out a loud cry in response. "HYAAAAA!" " A STARYU! I'd remember that Pokemon from anywhere." Pausing she began shuffling her cards from her necklace before pulling out a card. Clearly, it was a Pokemon she thought favourably of from her time using it in the card game. Presenting it to Tobias, the look of confusion on his face was apparent. " That's... Nice." Beaming positively, she placed the deck of cards away before responding once more. " Oh my... I am overwhelmed by your kindness. Mr.Dillinger... I... Do not worry. With your help, i'll do everything in my power to take care of that thief." Nodding his head, Tobias agreed. " I am sure you will." " And no doubt bring me that lucrative £1,000,000 reward... Hmphhmphhmph." Logging out of his box, he stood up and straightened his tie. " I wish you all the best. Here. A business card. Contact me immediately if you have any news on this matter." Pulling out a card, he presented it to her with a bow before standing back up. " As I mentioned earlier, I am always pressed for time in regard to my business needs. If you'll excuse me." Turning on the spot and letting her save goodbye, he headed off, unbeknownst to Remi to commit crimes and atrocities as a criminal and member of Team Rocket. Little did she know, but she was an unwitting pawn in Tobias' game of revenge against Joey. " What a nice guy..." Remi mumbled cheerfully. Gex still wasn't too sure. Pushing his glasses up his nose, he could definitely sense something was amiss. Letting Remi run away with her thoughts, the gecko did little to avert her feelings. " You know, this has given me some clarity. I know those Pokemon are stolen and with them just sitting in my box... It's not helping anyone." Clenching her fist and brandishing it in front of her, she realised a new goal. " I'll welcome these Pokemon as friends to our team and have them journey with us. If I return to New Bark Town from tomorrow not only can I revisit the basics but also show off these poor Pokemon in the hopes their trainer will recognise them. This works perfectly!" Immediately going to her box, she withdrew two Pokemon, Tesla and Neptunia and smiled. " We had best get some sleep. I have a feeling we have a long journey ahead of us starting tomorrow." Heading off to her dormitory, Remi couldn't help but feel today had turned around and proven to be a fortuitous one. - Fin - OOC: Phew long final post but this makes things a mix more interesting with Tobias thrown in. Putting the Pidgey into my party for now. Also gifting Justice the Staryu from Tobias to Remi. Boxing for time being. Bringing out Tesla the Pichu and Neptunia the Horsea into Remi's party.
