Due to the unprecedented growth in our site over the last few days, I feel an urge to make this announcement today. The surge of new members will no doubt create a glut of threads in New Bark Town and for quite a lot of you, your progress in the rp will be slowed down dramatically. As Joey summed it up pretty well, we will begin to experience the "growing pains" in the next few weeks so I ask for your patience as we go through this process. It is very important that you do not hassle our mods or staff for a reply to your thread. New members should note that the modding job is completely voluntary. They do not need to mod you at all and this is a strict policy that I have here at ZapdosZulu in order to protect our mods. I am doing my best to relieve the demand by hiring new staff but I forsee that this will not be enough. Therefore, you cannot expect to be modded several times a day. I would consider you to be doing well if you are getting one reply a day. This is a fact that is unlikely to change until I've sorted out the staff issue. You can, however, take active steps to improve your chances of getting a reply. We will be more selective now in who we moderate and the higher quality posts are more likely to receive a response from us. Therefore, you should take your time when posting. It disheartens me if I've just recently modded someone and they reply within minutes with a few lines. This is no longer acceptable and we will ignore you if you do not show that you are interested in roleplaying here. Furthermore, while you wait for a reply, why not participate in discussions elsewhere in the site? Perhaps you can contribute by sharing some ideas which we can use to update the site. I am much more willing to mod someone if I see that they have made a lot of posts and are committed to the site in the long run. All too often I have seen members stick around for a few days and then vanish without any notice at all. This is a pure and utter waste of our time and resources. In a worst case senario, you may not recieve a reply in 5 days, in which case you should post in this board: zapdoszulu.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=modrequestMy time during the next few days will be devoted primarily to administrative matters as well as continuing to update the site. I will be doing only a limited amount of modding because of this. Please do not hassle me for a reply either. Thanks for your time, Oak.

Don't worry, Oak I am a very devoted member to your forum. I love this forum and will continue to make great posts, and stick around for a very long time.

*claps* I could not have said it better myself Oak. I think at the end of the day people DO have to take into account that the moderators here aren't paid to do this and they're contributing roleplaying posts voluntarily out of their own free time. Your point about substantial posts of a high quality is also true. I've seen quite a few people going running about demanding a reply when it is quite clearly only two or three lines. If that is the case don't expect the mods to reply back with much either or anything at all. Because I know I wouldn't bother if I was a moderator. This place also does have a variety of boards for discussion (such as the Pokemon general boards and the entertainment ones) while not forgetting unrelated RPs you can act out by yourself without a mod. Nevertheless, i'll be extra sure not to beg any moderators in this turbulent time for a reply.

Personally, I feel kinda guilty. The reason for this being I'm kind of an impatient person and I was being quite annoying today, trying to get someone to mod me. So, I am making a formal apology here and now and I promise I will try and be more understanding. After all, this is a popular site and there are lots of people here. I completely understand the situation and as I said, I promise to not be so demanding as I had been and I shall do my best to have good posts that are definetely longer than a few lines.

Aww man, there's no need to feel guilty or apologise for anything. This announcement isn't directed to anyone in particular. It was just to remind people that as we continue to grow, we'll continue to value our members but in return, they should also try to make life easier for the staff by showing their patience. That way things can continue to operate smoothly on the whole.

Don't sweat it at all. To be perfectly honest, even if this post Oak made WAS aimed at someone it would be far more applicable to others. I do think that if mods were to reply the very instant someone replies then the quality will go way downhill and the main forum RP will be over and done with in a matter of days. So yeah, main thing is you care enough about this place to acknowledge this topic so for that, I am sure the mods are grateful.

Yea, cause what are you supposed to do with your character once they'd been everywhere on the forum and beaten the Pokemon League?

I suppose there is always the possibility of venturing onto new regions and some of the Battle Frontier infrastructures the mods have planned will be utilised but aside from that not much else that I can foresee. Of course characters can always inter mingle in group roleplays.
Still, i'm going to kick back and slowly enjoy the main RP here. ;D

I guess you could go back to past routes and catch Pokemon, expect that if your Pokemon are real strong the wild Pokemon will run away.

I have counted at least 10 today signing up so it's rather astonishing. I am sure to other, more popular forums, that is nothing but for a forum that used to be a pretty miniature tight community it's insane. Oh and Nada, for the record, you are almost an old member here.

Age-wise you possibly are one of the older members. I edge you out slightly in terms of age but I do believe there are two people who are also 25 and 28. Just goes to show Pokemon has a universal appeal. ;D
