Switching out Honou, Yokina, Denki, Sandy, Taka, and Kaishi for Rook, Sirius, Prince, Gohma, and the Horsea Egg. It felt weird walking without Honou at her side, but the Charmander – no, Charmeleon; wow, that felt weird to say!- deserved a break. She hadn't left her side once since the start of her journey, a bit of a break was deserved. Besides, this was time for Haley to bond with some of her new Pokemon. Her entire team had been put into the PC, and in their place she had withdrawn Rook, a Gastly she had purchased recently; Sirius, a Growlithe she had received; Prince, the Ralts she had captured; Gohma, a Spinarak she had captured; and an Egg she had entered into a lottery for. She had left a spot open in case she found anything interesting. Rook hovered over her shoulder, grinning wildly, all teeth bared. Sirius trotted at her side, ears cocked and looking around excitedly. Who knew what could be around her!

It may not have seemed like it, but this time of year was a very special occasion. Likely not something many people knew, it was a special anniversary in a nearby locale where many where celebrating yet another year of a wonderful, tight knit community. Truly, it was a joyous occasion. There was cake, music, entertainment, a whole roster of balloons even! And therein lied the web that weave the celebratory party to Haley's own journey. Having attracted a number of mischievous Pikachu to the party itself what with the allure of delectable cake and groovy music, it would be the wide range of colourful balloons that would ultimately seize their limited attentions. Sneaking over from their grassy den and into the party, the group of Pikachu were enamoured by these floating balloons. Their bright, cheery colours and the way they bobbled up, wanting to drift in the air without so much a care in the world. This very sight was enough to inspire the group of Pikachu. Deciding that they too could be just as these balloons were, the leader of the group hatched a rather crafty plan for them to be able to enact such a concoction. Gathering its Pikachu brethren in close, the leader furtively whispered away as it made them all aware of what they needed to do in order to fly free. Walking was so old fashioned after all. With a bit of coaxing, the leader finally persuaded the group and it wasn't long before they set to work. Surprisingly stealthy, they set to work untying the celebratory balloons from their stands and began wrapping up the strings on each others bodies. Quick in their actions, it wasn't long before those that had a number of balloons tied to them began struggling to keep grounded. A few balloons later and the whole group of Pikachu began to lift into the air, grabbing the attention of many party goers who had a mixture of reactions. Some were laughing endlessly at the sight, others checked down at their drink to be sure it hadn't been spiked. Looking down at the onlookers, the Pikachu were all so happy as they soon became ants beneath them and they were well and truly soaring into the air. Now merrily following where the winds blew them, the Pikachu had little say in the matter but they didn't care. All this meant was that they experienced an exciting new adventure. Floating over town after town, city after city, it was amazing just how far they had been travelling. Sadly, this would not last forever. Noticing a definite drop in altitude, one of the Flying Pikachu punch began to lose its grouping with its friends and it wasn't long before the Pokemon drifted downwards to what appeared to be a nearby route close to New Bark Town. Getting lower and lower, the Pikachu let out a few futile squeaks as it tried to get itself to float back up. Much to no avail. Before long, the Pokemon was now where Haley herself was. Quite clearly seeing all the Pokemon around Haley, the Pikachu bought up its hands to cover its face. It knew it was in trouble but hopefully by blanking out the world around it, it would become invisible. Of course impossible given its brightly coloured balloons giving it away but the Pikachu had little other choice in the matter in what it could do. Encounter

Sirius' ears perked up at an odd squeaking sound. She looked around herself, trying to figure out what was making the odd noise. Failing that and, hearing another, she looked up. It was a Pikachu. A bloody Pikachu. She may be rather good-natured, and few things shook her, but this was definitely one of them. How the heck was a Pikachu floating?! Oh, wait – she saw them now. Balloons. A flying Pikachu. Her first trip with her new trainer and she sees a flying Pikachu. Sirius can't help but wonder if that's an ill omen. She looked over her shoulder at her trainer, who was entirely oblivious. She needed to know about this. The fire-type looked back up at the Pikachu and barked. Haley jumped. It had been quiet, Rook not making a sound next to her ear and Sirius only making the occasional huff. Her head turned to the barking canine. What...? She followed her gaze, and saw the flying electric-type. What...?! “Huh?” she yelped unintentionally. The Pikachu seemed to notice them, and covered its eyes. Sirius looked at her pleadingly. Normally she avoided battling, but she had to double check that this was real. She had to make sure that this wasn't a Ditto screwing with them. “Sirius, go on! Use Ember!” The trainer nodded. The canine dropped into an attack positon, ready to launch the flames at the novel Pokemon. Added 234 words to Horsea Egg

As Pikachu tried it's best to pretend the situation it was in was nothing more than a nightmare the sound of Sirius barking forced the flying mouse to accept the fact the life had thrown a nasty curveball it's way. Pikachu tried to beg the Growlithe to let it go in peace but the flame loving pooch seemed like she wanted to battle just as much as Pikachu had hoped to avoid doing so. Sirius was a intimadating Pokemon to Pikachu as the flames it could shoot had a good chance of bursting the balloons tied to it's back and then poor Pikachu would not be as special anymore. Hoping to avoid that situation Pikachu tried begging with Haley instead figuring the trainer would call of the fiery dog. Before the rodent could try and convince Haley what was happening was indeed real Sirius launched a few embers towards Pikachu. Usually Pikachu had pretty good evasion but with balloons strapped to it's back and it not being used to flight the poor mouse had no hope of evading the embers. As each small flame slammed into Pikachu it kept hoping to either have it's balloons pop so it could try and run just to escape this nightmare but fate had other plans. All of the balloons survived the onslaught and Pikachu was left in a holding pattern with blackened fur covering it's body. As Pikachu got desperate it thought of how it could convince Haley it was a real Pikachu. As Pikachu could fire electricity from their cheeks Pikachu thought maybe using Thundershock would get Haley to call off her Pokemon. The electric mouse began to build a small amount of electricity in it's cheeks before firing it at Sirius who felt nothing more than a tickle. Hoping Haley would finally believe the events that transpired Pikachu awaited it's fate. Wild Pokemon Battle

Due to the balloons on its back, the Pikachu was little more than a sitting duck. It had no control of the balloons, leaving it to do nothing more than hover in place and wait for the flames to strike it. By some miracle, the balloons stayed intact despite the embers that shot at the Pikachu, formed around lumps of charcoal. The Pikachu, however, could not say the same, spots of fur blackened and burnt. Sparks danced on its cheeks briefly before building up, then launching at the flame dog. Sirius huffed, shaking to disperse the static that had built up in her fluffy coat. “Is that all you got?” she barked. Haley eyed the Pikachu. It was real. This flying Pikacu, tied up in balloons, was real. This was a once in a lifetime opportunity. “Sirius! Ember, again!”Adding 139 words to Horsea Egg

Deciding to go in for another offensive strike, Haley confidently sounded out her order for Sirius to follow up with. Hearing loud and cloud, the fire hound stomp their forelegs forward onto the ground and took careful aim at the flying pikachu. It was wriggling about to try and recover its positioning however that would be a futile attempt given there was very little breeze to help move things along. Letting the fiery coals build up in their throat, Sirius sent out a blazing round of embers which sizzled through the air before landing with a direct hit on the Pikachu. Such intense damage was enough to knock the Pokemon out. Floating their aimlessly as its entire body drooped, this venture with the balloons had turned out to be a rather lacklustre one. Nevertheless, new adventures would certainly come around now the Pikachu was being welcomed into Haley's fold should she want to capture it. Wild Pokemon Battle

The defeated Pokemon can be caught! Do you accept Flying Pikachu into your Party? If so, fill out the following details: Flying Pikachu Name: [choose] Gender: [Male/Female] Level: 5 Moves: Fly, Growl, Thundershock, Tail Whip Ability: Static Nature/Personality: [choose] Victory!
Your Growlithe fought courageously and has levelled up! It went up by 1 level and is now Level 11!
...Although, victory celebrations may have to wait at this point. Obviously very clued up on trainers in the area, it appeared that a special Pokemon was about to make its acquaintance with Haley. Making her way over out of the bushes with a hop, a skip and a jump, a rather unusual looking Lopunny happily made her way over to where Haley stood, totally blanking the fainted Pikachu floating in the air. Aware of Haley's desires, the Easter Lopunny dove into her basket full of many coloured eggs and seemed to be thinking over carefully what it was searching for. A few moments later, the lagomorph presented a marvellous cyan coloured egg! The Easter Lopunny has arrived! She hands Haley a purple egg! This egg has been stored in your party for now. Bowing her head sincerely, the Lopunny began to prance off without so much a care to what was going on around it. It still had copious amounts of eggs to delivery.

Flying Pikachu Name: Mika Gender: Female Level: 5 Moves: Fly, Growl, Thundershock, Tail Whip Ability: Static Nature/Personality: Rather adventurous. Mika tends to get herself into problems, and needs her teammates or trainer to get her out. She never releases all of the balloons from her back, instead choosing to deflate them so she can run along the ground if she must, but she does so rarely. Her partner in crime is Yokina, whom often gets included in her shenanigans.
Sirius huffed loudly, not a full bark but not not a bark either, as she prepared the command. That's the best she could come up with? But, if the Pikachu had the Static ability, her Bite attack would have painful consequences. Perhaps it was for the best; she didn't much feel like being Paralyzed today. Sirius was having a rather good day, and that would turn it sour. The Pikachu was little more than a sitting duck as she fired at it, unable to dodge or duck or move out of the way. The balloons suspended it in midair, preventing it from protecting itself in any way. There was little surprise when the Embers hit straight on, knocking out the Pikachu. It drooped, slumping in the strings that wrapped around its chubby body. Haley and Sirius both laughed as they watched it sway in the breeze, before the trainer dug out a Poke Ball. As she prepared to capture the electric-type, another something drew Sirius' attention. Ebony eyes focused on a bushel of bushes, and she crouched back down into a fighting stance, a snarl building in the Growlithe's throat. Something was coming, but she didn't know what. The gait was odd, almost like something was jumping, but running at the same time. Haley, too, looked at the bushes, having been drawn by her flame canine's odd behavior. She squinted, but was unable to make anything out. She eyed Sirius uncertainly, before turning back to the Pikachu, raising her hand to tap the button on the Pokeball. Hop. Skip. Jump. Haley looked back over at a bounding sound that finally reached her ears, and stared in awe at the odd-looking Lopunny. Just how many odd Pokemon would she meet today!? It seemed either totally unaware of the fainted Pikachu, or it didn't care, as it didn't spare the electric-type so much as a glance. The girl noticed a basket on the anthropomorphic rabbit's arm and, after a moment of squinting, realized that it was full of eggs, stuffed with soft grass. The Lopunny came to a stop in front of her, and began to dig through the basket, a look of concentration on its face as though trying to make a hard choice. Eventually, it seemed to come a decision, and pulled out a beautifully coloured bright cyan egg. She handed it over to the trainer whom, stunned, accepted it into her arms and cradled it against her chest. “Thank you?” she managed to call out before the Lopunny trotted away, leaping off into the bushes once more without a word. Haley and Sirius shared a 'what the heck was that?' look. “Well, that was weird, huh?” Haley laughed. Partially gloved hands ran along the brightly coloured egg-shell. “I wonder what's inside. You have any clue? You are a Pokemon after all.”The canine trotted towards her and reared up onto her hind legs, rested her forelimbs on Haley's torso. She sniffed at the egg, wrinkled her wet nose, and sneezed before looking back up at the trainer and shaking her head in a definite 'no'. “Yeah, it was a long shot. But you never know, right?” Haley laughed. The egg was shifted into a more comfortable position as she turned back towards Cherrygrove. She paused then, remembering, turned back to the Pikachu and hit the button on the Pokeball, successfully capturing it. Her Poke Dex 'ding'-ed, and she named it, watching the Poke Ball vanish as it went on its way. Her duty done, the duo (well, trio if you counted Rook) headed back to Cherrygrove. If this was her welcome to New Bark Town, she didn't want to see anything else. ----- Ending thread. Words toward Horsea Egg: 200 Words towards ?? Egg: 200
