Amalia's Challenge (Joey)

Zero went back to its original move and shot another Ember at Joey's Pikachu. The attack proved fatal as it landed a Critical Hit, sending Pikachu to the ground. The Pikachu skidded back towards its trainer, gradually loosening its grip on its board. It stopped suddenly, lying motionless as its surfboard thumped off of the path.

Both trainers watched as electric Pokémon lay still on the ground, its surfboard by its side. The battle had instantly turned on Joe, and now things weren't looking good. Pikachu clearly wasn't getting up. It didn't have enough strength to keep going. It had put up a good fight, but it obviously wasn't able to handle a Pokémon who was over double its level.

[The REAL Joey]

Joe nodded to himself gently. "Bad idea afterall." He reached for his Pokeball and returned Pikachu. "Nice job, Pikachu! We'll work on training you up some other time. But for now, rest easy." Pikachu dematerialised back into the Pokeball and Joe began thinking up his next line of attack. "Level wise that was a blunder... So let's even this out!" His hand grabbed the next Pokeball on his belt and with a rather stylish toss of the ball his Elekid appeared. Joe grinned and clenched a fist with determination. "Let's duel some more!" He turned his attention to Elekid and announced his next move. "Quick Elekid! Get a Quick Attack in there pronto!" Elekid began coursing electricity through his body as a sign of his strength and buzzed loudly. The electricity stopped suddenly and in a blink of an eye he was next to Zero and gave him a quick jab of his fists against the rival Pokemon.

[LUNAR]

Amalia went wide eyed at this. "Zero! Return!" she called. Zero blinked and ran towards his trainer, panting heavily. She gently held him. "You did great, Zero. You deserve some rest." she said. "Char!" he cried, swishing his tail back and forth. She set him down and took out a Pokeball, smirking. "I choose you, Shiver!" she cried, the pokeball opening and revealing her Snover. "Quick Shiver! Use Powder Snow!" she cried, earning a nod from Shiver.

As Shiver was released from her Pokéball, Elekid immediately made its move. The Electric Pokémon crashed into Shiver at full speed. It was a much faster Pokémon than Shiver and was at a higher level. Shiver, however, being part Grass-type had the type advantage. The two Pokémon were evenly matched to some extent. Joey would have a better chance this time.

Shiver finally struck back with a Powder Snow attack. The attack did average damage, but left Elekid with a slight lead in the battle. It was still anyone's battle. Amalia had a chance to turn it around, but she would need to do it early.

[The REAL Joey]

Joe's eyes glinted with the possibility of exploiting the enemy. "Great! Fighting beats Ice so..." He muttered to himself before shifting his tone to a more commanding voice. "Elekid! Cross Chop! Really hand it to 'em!" Elekid buzzed attentively and scuttled up towards the enemy Snover before raising both it's arms and then swinging them in a cross formation, creating a devastating cross chop.

[LUNAR]

"Hang in there Shiver! Use Icy Wind!" she commanded. Shiver nodded and prepared the attack.

Elekid bolted at Shiver with its arms held high. It crossed its arms and smashed the Fighting-Type move down on the Snover, doing a massive amount of damage. Shiver was close to being being knocked-out. She was lucky that Elekid hadn't scored at Critical Hit.

The Snover made an attempt to recover from the shock of the thunder Pokémon's power. It used an Icy Wind attack on its enemy. The attack did notably better than the Powder Snow, but was in a different league to Joe's Pokémon's attack.

[The REAL Joey]

OOC: Eh, sorry I was short with my previous one. Was in bit of a hurry when I submitted that. This one should be better. Also... ELEKID IS A PIDGEY NOW?! Caw caw!

Joe watched on with great enthusiasm as his Elekid proudly carried out Joe's orders. The devastating Cross Chop inflicted a grievous amount of damage to the Snover and placed Elekid in a firm position to win this particular round. Elekid sensing that the advantage was now his was acting a lot more boastful of it's power and flashed off some electric bolts in Snover's direction. Joey wasted no time in following on with the next blow. "Alright Elekid! You did me proud." Elekid responded cheerfully to his trainer's praise. "Now! Strike quickly with Quick Attack!" Elekid nodded and focused his eyes on his opponent. With a blinding flash he appeared next to the Snover and gave the Pokemon a sharp jab with his fist.

Amalia bit her lower lip, clenching her fists. This wasn't good... Shiver was already in pretty bad shape, and Joey's Elekid had the advantage for having Fighting type moves. She swallowed heavily and her heart pounded rapidly against her chest. "Shiver, come over here!" she called out. Her Snover gazed at her in confusion but walked on over. Amalia smiled and knelt down, pulling out a Potion from her bag. "Here. This'll help." she said, spraying the Potion onto Snover.

Shiver then felt the effect and gave a mighty confidnet, "Sno!" and nuzzled her trainer. Amalia laughed and nodded, watching Shiver walk back. "Use Razor Leaf!" she commanded. "Sno!" Shiver cried, aiming at the Elekid.

It looked as though Amalia and Shiver weren't ready to give up yet. Before Elekid could deal a knockout blow, Amalia was able to spray a healing Potion on her Snover which rejuvenated a significant proportion of her health, although not all of it. Feeling much better, Shiver confidently took the lightning-fast jab from Elekid, which although fast was not as strong as it could have been given Elekid expected Shiver to be at the brink of exhaustion by now.

Shiver then unleashed a storm of leaves, which were serrated around the edges - almost like holly leaves. These lashed Elekid from all sides, leaving him with many cuts and scratches.

[The REAL Joey]

Joe gritted his teeth and slowly came to the realisation that he could use items in battle to turn the tide to his favour. He looked at Elekid who by now, after taking several heavy hits, was looking a bit worse for wear. Joey rummaged through his bag and picked out one Potion and jumped into the fray quickly before any attacks could be made. He shook the potion quickly before reassuring Elekid. "This could sting a little." Elekid squinted at Joe as he sprayed the Potion. Elekid didn't seem to mind and recovered some health. Joe gave him a confident pack on his back and went back to where he had been ordering his commands. "'Kay Elekid, now you're a bit healthier let's try landing another Cross Chop!" Elekid's aura buzzed excitedly with electricity and his little legs hurried him towards Snover as he leapt slightly to deal an X-shaped strike on the opponent Snover. Joey cheered on as he attacked. "Keep it up buddy!"

[LUNAR]

Amalia bit her lip again as Joey used a potion on his Elekid. Darn it... But I suppose that makes us even. she thought, glaring. "Hang in there, Shiver! Use Razor Leaf once more!" she commanded, earning a nod from her Snover and prepared another Razor Leaf attack. This time, Snover focused all her strength into this attack, hoping to land a critical hit. Even if it didn't, Amalia would be very proud of her Snover. Shiver is trying so hard to win this match for her, and appreciates the effort Shiver was putting into her attacks.

[[OOC: This battle could go on forever and Joey isn't able to have two threads open at once during his quest so do you guys want to end it here? Otherwise we can go, and finish this before I move on to Joey's other thread. I just need one yes to close the thread.]]

Elekid attacked with another Super-effective Cross Chop, knocking his opponent out instantly. Shiver had done pretty well for herself but it wasn't enough. She lay unconscious on the ground. Both trainers had one Pokémon down. So, to some extent, they were tying.

They could choose to end the battle here or carry on a little further. Elekid was still full of energy. Depending on the next foe, he might be able to hold out a little longer. He'd have to see what Amalia had planned to do next.

If the battle went on, every move they made from now on could either win them the battle or take away their chances of winning. They'd have to think about everything carefully and just hope for the best. If they chose to end the battle, both trainers would emerge undefeated.

OOC: It's cool, I was trying to get back into my roleplaying muse and just made that Violet City topic for when I do venture there in advance. We'll continue on with this for now. We'll just have to speed up the game a little bit.

Joey cheered on his Pokemon triumphantly. Having rescued Elekid from his previous abusive trainer it was slightly moving to see Elekid realise some of his potential. "Keep going Elekid, you're doing great!" Elekid looked to his trainer respectfully and coursed electricity through his body as a sign of his power increasing from levelling up. "You're still good to carry on right Amalia? No running from a trainer battle huh?" Elekid and Joe looked expectantly to Amalia's corner for her next Pokemon. "Elekid, ready another Cross Chop for the next Pokemon she brings out!"

[LUNAR]

"Shiver! Return!" Amalia called out, returning her Pokemon into her Pokeball. "I'm so proud of you. You deserve a good rest. Ready to go back in, Zero?" she asked her Charmander. "Char, char!!" Zero cried, smiling up at her. She nodded and sprayed a Potion on him to heal his wounds from his previous battle. "Okay, Zero! Go get him with an Ember attack!" she commanded.

Zero nodded and trotted towards the Elekid, taking a huge gulp of air before releasing a ball of fire from his mouth, aiming at his opponent.
