As the Magenmite emerged from its pokeball, it surged a jolt of electricity through its body, sending sparks off in all directions. Now a new pokemon was added, how would the battle turn out?
The Elekid soon recieved a command from Joe, a quick attack. It was able to make the first strike, moving blindingly fast across the ground before jabbing the Magnemite. The little electric type was quick to recover however, tackling the elekid to the ground.

Joey blinked his eyes in disbelief. "Awww shoot. I was so sure that we had that Charmander then... No sweat. Let's carry on with the battle!" Joey looked to his Elekid to see how he was standing up. "You got a little bit more life in you yet! I believe in you." Elekid nodded wearily and tried his best to focus back on the battle. "Elekid, now's the time for Low Kick! Seeing as Magnemite is made of Steel it's bound to be pretty heavy. Hopefully it'll do more damage." Elekid nodded and ran towards the Magnemite and did a quick jab at the magnet Pokemon with it's right leg.

Amalia smirked. "Use another Tackle, Static! You're doing great so far!" she encouraged. "ZZZZZZZT!" Static replied, charging at the Elekid with full force. It looked at the panting Charmander, glaring and sparks of electricity surrounded it.
It was going to avenge its fellow Pokemon, and it will not let Zero or Amalia down.

The little electric Elekid zoomed off towards the Magnemite. Though infact, Elekid was much heavier than the floating magnet, making his low kick not too effective. Not really feeling much off a hit, the Magnemite retaliated with another tackle attack.

Joey flinched slightly at his naivety. "Damn... I totally missed the boat on that one. Low Kick seems pretty circumstantial..." He shrugged and tossed his head from side to side in order to decide on his next move. The Elekid staggered around slightly on the spot trying to keep it's focus. However, it's low health was beginning to become largely apparent. Joey snapped his fingers and nodded. "'Kay Elekid, we're gonna resort to Cross Chop! If Low Kick doesn't work here then Cross Chop will! Bend that steel like a pro, Elekid!" Elekid nodded with a slight sigh and dashed off to the Magnemite. He swung his arms wildly upon approaching it.

"I'm proud of you, Static! We're catching up now! Use Metal Sound!" she commanded. Static was surrounded by electricity again, then unleased a lout noise, aiming it at the Elekid. Hopefully this will lower another of it's status ailments.

Magnemite was beaming with energy, allowing it to go first. The area was soon filled with a high pitch, horrible screech of a noise. It probably caused everyone, aswell as Elekid, to cover their ears for the brief moment. As soon as the noise was over, however, Elekid jumped straight to it. He focused all of his strength into his arms and began to lash them around furiously, landing an unexpected critical hit, knocking Magnemite off guard.

As Magnemite's move screeched through the area Joey found himself jamming his hands over his ears and trying to block out the sound. After it subsided he patted both his ears to make sure they were still working properly. "Woah... Devastating move you got there! I thought I had gone deaf for a moment." He shook his face to regain some composure and let out a small cheer when Elekid landed a critical. Upon dealing it, Elekid's spirits seemed to raise slightly and he now stood without looking to fatigued. "Nice one, you got anymore lined up like that?" Elekid buzzed and Joey grinned. "Okay, you're at a tricky situation... That move's weakened you but you just gotta land another Cross Chop!" Elekid nodded and repeated his arm swinging assault.

"You're doing wonderful, Static! Use Tackle! We can't stop now!" Amalia commanded, her belief in it making it stronger somewhat. Static buzzed and charged at the Elekid once more with powerful speed. The battle was getting really intense, and who knew how long it lasted.

The Elekid darted first with another Cross Chop. It ran forwards, it's little feet tapping furiously along the ground, before forcing itself into the air and crashing both of it's arms down onto the floating magnet. It didn't land a critical hit, but it still did a fair bit of damage.
Magnemite, began to float up and down slightly, trying to recover from the hit. Shaking around slightly, Static was ready to charge for his turn. Electricity danced off him rapidly as it charged forward, crashing into the Elekid. It looked as if the little electric type was almost ready to faint.

Joey let out a small cry as Elekid seemed to be on the verge of fainting. "This isn't good...!" He thought about swapping out for another Pokemon but hesistated slightly. Perhaps this defeat would teach Elekid an invaluable lesson about it not being the end of the world if he loses. It would seem his previous trainer abused him so much that Elekid has become deathly afraid of losing. Joey focused his thoughts and decided to carry on. "Elekid, fainting doesn't mean the end of the world! Unleash a final strike before the end. If you can your next team mate will be able to take advantage of the work you've done! Elekid... ONE MORE CROSS CHOP FOR ME!" Elekid buzzed and with the remaining energy he had left dashed at the Magnemite and unleashed two swift chops.

Amalia softened at this and smiled at Static. "One more Tackle, Static!" she commanded. Static nodded, and electricity surrounded it. It charged at the Elekid, making it count. Amalia gulped and watched carefully.

Elekid knew deep within himself that the next move would probably be his last. He had worked hard through this battle and had gained a lot more confidence and trust for Joe. The small Magnemite was also trying extremely hard, especially since it was already a few levels under the Elekid, he had done pretty well.
The two electric pokemon charged towards eachother, both gaining speed until they collided together, bouncing them back again. Both pokemon made a heavy breathing motion until it was finally the end of the line for one of them. Elekid turned back slowly to look at Joe, it held its arm up slightly, showing him a thumbs up, before fainting to the ground.

Joey nodded to him, slightly crestfallen as Elekid performed his duties admirably to the last order. As Elekid slumped to the ground he returned him back to his Pokeball. He paused and looked at the Pokeball intensely. As he placed it back on his belt he looked to Amalia and nodded to her with respect. "Thank you for doing that..." He hesitated but decided to carry on. "...That Elekid; I rescued him from an abusive trainer. I think the trainer instilled so much fear into him that he'd be afraid to lose in case it meant his death." As he patted the ball on his belt his serious face began to turn into a small smile. "You've taught him an invaluable lesson." He poked his bandanna up slightly and picked his next Pokemon. "ALRIGHT! Charmander, you're up!" He threw his ball and Charmander emerged from the opened Pokeball. "This guy was my first starter here in Johto." He grinned and ordered his attack. "Charmander, use Ember! We'll see this through yet. Make Elekid proud!" Charmander nodded and readied a scorching hot coal of ember.

Amalia smiled at this, holding Static close at it nuzzled her cheek. "Still up for one more round?" she asked her Magnemite, earning a nod in response. She nodded as well and watched it float back to the battle. "Okay, Static! Use Thundershock!" she commanded.
