Ooc: Swapping Buneary for Archimedes (Pidove), again. Time to start training for the gym leader. This thread is probably going to be short, since I'm just focusing on Pyrrhus, Archimedes, and Torchic for the most part. Lol for the reference to The Lion King Song. Time of Day: Dark out; evening; venturing in Route 33 grass to train.
Bic: Avila had noticed that it had begun to be dark out. The sun had set and the stars glimmered in the sky as they twinkled like clockwork. Avila had come out of the pokemon center noticing how the sudden change had been. So she had been in the well for some time not having a clue what time of day it was. But it was clear a lot of time had gone by when she was battling all of them. Her Blazebit's health and as well as her pokemon's health had been restored back to normal. And Blazebit seemed to act like his normal self again as Avila and her pokemon were progressing in their next part of their journey.
As she walked the place had been relatively silent as most people in the town had gone back into their homes for the night but Avila couldn't sleep. She had been awake for the most part as Team Rocket's words still echoed in her head. 'Pokemon aren't tools they are supposed to be friends. That's what my parents taught me at a young age and I'm going to stay by those words. No matter what Team Rocket says or even other trainers that try to change my mind. And another thing, I swear I'm not going to become a Team Rocket Member like Proton had wanted me to do so. But I sure did surprise him at the end of that battle.' She thought to herself as the day's progression still echoed in her head.
They started to walk as the grass became much higher and taller, enough to satisfy a pokemon to hide in on the grass. She was hanging out on the outskirts of Azelea town to train as she took out another pokemon with her. "Let's go Archimedes, it's time for your turn to train in this." She said having a feeling that the Pidove was about ready to evolve or was awfully close to it. As she tossed the pokeball into the air the grey bird pokemon appeared as he flapped his wings realizing that he was out in the world again. The Pidove seemed to be happy to be out of his pokeball as he swooped near Avila. "Archimedes, I know you want to be an Unfezant one day so we'll start focusing with you. And you'll help us with the Gym Leader Battle that we have to face. I figured he's not going to be open now but we can start training while the night is young...in fact I'm not even tired yet." She admitted as she looked at the other pokemon who seemed to express it.
And so with that, they began to dive into the grass with her two pokemon. Her first focus was Archimedes as he had plenty of potential to be a great pokemon. He flapped his wings creating small gusts. Either way he was eager to get into a battle as he mirrored Avila's excitement. She was putting what happened in the well behind her, and considered it a victory.

The evening wasn't nearly as hot as the day. With the Sun nowhere in sight and the Moon high above the clouds, the crisp cool air provided quite the relief from the Summer heat. With the turn of the evening, many of the more nocturnal based Pokemon were also out. A few bugs could be seen scittering to and fro, now moving around in the crisp air. With the weaker Pokemon around, this also invited the predator Pokemon. After all, many predators hunted at night. Poochyena were no different. This particular canine had taken an interest in a Surskit travelling through the grasses. Surskit crossed the path of the trainer, but when it saw the trainer and her Pokemon, the creature skedaddled, leaving Poochyena hungry and meal-less. It had been crouched, carefully placing one paw in front of another as it stalked, but now it rose from the depths of the grasses to shoot the trainer an annoyed look. How dare it disturb it's hunting? It may have been a young pup, but it still had to hunt for itself. Surskit were difficult prey, but perhaps the hound liked the taste of the spindly legs. Either way, it wasn't going to get it. Stepping from the grasses, it bristled and narrowed it's eyes. A strange bird Poochyena had never seen was accompanying the trainer. Licking it's chops, Poochyena bristled it's fur and dropped into an offensive crouch. The hound let out a thick rumbling growl from it's chest and honed in on Archimedes. It really wanted a snack, but it would settle for a battle. Once it trounced the bird, it could nibble in peace, right? A Wild Poochyena (Level 13) is prepared for dinner! Will you bring a shining new era of pain?

The pidove known as archimedes seemed to be enjoying himself, he flew rather high but not high enough that he could be gone and out of sight for Avila. He knew that would make her worry about him. The pokemon did notice how something was amiss here as it flew down to get a better look. however that was when the PIdove stopped hearing the low growl with its own two ears. The Pidove began to chirp loudly towards his owner knowing that this was important, and as always Avila came racing over to see what her Pidove had been chirping about. The Unova pokemon was clearly alarmed by something and came to see what it was. "Archemedes, what's going on?" Avila asked.
That was when she got her answer. The Pidove's keen eyes were already looking in the direction of were the wild Poochyena was. The pokemon was sure lookig fierce. It had bared teeth, and its eyes were glaring head on. But Avila also recognized the hint of battle that it faced in its eyes. So the Poochyena wanted a battle? This would be good practice for her Archimedes, she had a feeling that he was close to evolving. And se knew that this pokemon was eager to train some more. Archimedes would be a huge help in the Gym Leader Battle. "Archimedes, it looks like this poochyena wants to battle. What do you say about it?" She asked the bird pokemon as it chirped happily giving his response.
"Alright Archimedes, use Air Cutter!" Avila called out as the pidove flew closer to were the Poochyena was. It wasn't about to make friends or become someone's dinner. The Pidove soon flapped his wings very hard. The current started to become rather fast within the air and the wind picked up its pace. Soon sharp razor like winds could be seen in the air, and once the pidove had enough force behind the attack, the Pidove sent one last and final blast of air in the poochyena's direction. Bot pokemon and trainer, hoped that this attack would land.

Unbeknownst to the Poochyena, the hound was about to bite off quite a bit more than it could chew. The poor thing was driven by the primal instinct of hunger and survival. It couldn't have know that the Pidove it was eyeing was leagues better than it. So, of course, this would be rectified after it felt the first attack. The trainer didn't seem to pick up on Poochyena's dastardly intentions, but as a prey animal, the Pidove Archimedes did, and wasn't too terribly thrilled to be looked at in such a manner. Training for the gym was top priority, so knocking out the hound was well within reason, and well within want.
Archimedes wasted no time taking to the air to prepare his attack. As the wind whipped and whirled around him, Poochyena did it's best to ignore the stabbing, growling pain in it's stomach. How was it going to fight the Pokemon from down here? As Archimedes released his attack, the air sent Poochyena buffeting around before the hound found itself sprawled out on the ground a few feet away. By pure level difference alone, Poochyena had been knocked asunder. It glanced up at the bird, who had now landed on the ground, with a sense of horror. How was it so strong? Prey wasn't supposed to beat predator!
Digging deep, despite the pain it was feeling, Poochyena brought itself back up onto all four paws and back into the battle. Leering angrily at the trainer and Pidove alike, it charged forward with slobbering jaws, ready to take a chunk out of Archimedes with intense hate. As the hound bit down, Archimedes began to flap his wings to get away, taking to the sky before Poochyena could do much damage. Archimedes watched as the Poochyena spat out a few of his feathers before cooing in amusement at the look on the Poochyena's face. "Nice job Archimedes, that first attack was a great one." Avila said trying to help her bird pokemon's self esteem and encuragement go higher. It was a well known fact that pokemon who were trained by people were often very strong compared to the wild pokemon counter parts. Archimedes had been one of those fine shining examples of it. The bird pokemon winced from the heavy pain that was coming from the sharp teeth of the Poochyena as it bit into its flesh. Though when the Poochyena opened its mouth again it only returned with featers creating a rather amusing look. Well, at least Archimedes had a sense of humor she wasn't sure if her other pokemon did, her Blazebit was more on the brave and serious side. Maybe he did and she just hadn't seen it yet.
"Archimedes use another Air Cutter!" Avila called out as she gave a soft smile towards her Pidove. It was clear on one thing, the Pidove was showing his strength and he was starting to become much stronger than the Poochyena that was in front of him. The Bird pokemon was only steps away from achieving another victory.
The bird pokemon began to flap his wings with a sharp current. It blew back and forth creating a wind force that was quite strong. Once Archimedes was satisfied with it, the Pidove began to send it the stunned Poochyena's way. The poochyena had been surprised by the strength that he possessed. It was a sharp ripping and cutting wind tat would be enough to blow someone back. But it was hard to say if this attack would hit, or not. The Poochyena might have a trick up its sleeves, that neither Archimedes nor Avila knew about. But this training would prove to be useful, either way.

Vs. Poochyena - - - - - - - - - - - - - Snapping saliva-flecked jaws, Poochyena was determined to somehow come through this fight victorious, as should be expected of a top predator. This little bundle of feathers was only lucky it had a trainer protecting it, or it would have stood no chance against the young wolf. Growling at Archimedes as the Pidove soared forwards and churned up the wind once more, Poochyena's fur rose all at once in an attempt to intimidate its foe, an admirable move but done in vain. Where hunger had driven it to attack, and predatory instincts keeping it from fleeing in the face of danger, it would only meet with failure having targeted a trainer's Pokémon.
With the wind came the tantalizing scent of Archimedes, Poochyena's eyes lighting up in anticipation. Lady luck smiled upon the wolf today, because as Archimedes sent the condensed current speeding towards it, the Pidove's aim had just been a bit off. The Air Cutter passed by Poochyena with inches to spare, exploding into the ground with enough force to blow dirt high into the air and scattering bits of earth over the combatants. Shaking its gray pelt free of dirt, Poochyena looked almost smug at this miracle, hoping it meant the battle would shift in its favour now.
Archimedes was stunned; how could such a strong move miss? Body tensing, he was ready for whatever the Poochyena was going to spring on him next, whether it be another chomp or some other devilish move. Throwing its head back, Poochyena instead let out a long, eerie howl meant to bolster its fighting spirit. Licking its chops hungrily after finishing, it would have to hope for another lucky miss if it wanted to get another taste of this rather irksome bird.

The Poochyena's howl was rather impressive. Maybe there was a cance they'd come across another one and Avila would like to catch it to add it to her team. Well she already had several pokemon that needed training so if one did happen to come across her path again, she wouldn't be that afraid to try and catch it. But this was training for Archimedes as she had no intent on capturing pokemon unless it was rare or it was one that she liked.
Even Avila had to admit she was pretty surprised at how the attack had suddenly missed. Well, accidents happen didn't they? This was just one of those moments as Avila looked back at her stunned partner. archimedes was just as stunned as she had been just moments ago this Poochyena would've been down and out by now but it had been saved by the last minute. "Wow that last attack didn't even it." Avila explained stating the obvious. But one the startled look disappeared she had to figure out what move to use next since it looked like using another Air Cutter wasn't going to do it. The Pidove chirped loudly back at the Poochyena as he still considered him a threat despite how tired it looked.
"Alright Arcimedes we'll mix it up this time and use a Quick Attack!" She called out towards her flying partner. Archimedes chirped a few more times once again as he opened is wings. Flaping a few times to gain some hieight. And once he was satisfied with that, he flew forward disappearing in a burst of grey and white speed. Then it seemed like out of no were, he came close to te Poochyena in hopes of striking it. Well as the saying went, slow and steady wins the race, and it might've been the opposite this time. Avila seemed to want to hurry up this battle and they couldn't afford any mistakes.

Vs. Poochyena - - - - - - - - - - - - - Seeing the surprise on Avila's face only served to inflate Poochyena's ego even more, its eyes gleaming with unchecked pride. It was on top of the world now, and soon it would be scampering off into the woods with a nice, feathery snack. Poochyena had no idea it was merely cannon fodder to strengthen Archimedes, its one track mind only focused on one thing for now, every other thought cast aside to see that goal through to the end. Invigorated by Howl's boosting effect, the shaggy-furred wolf loped towards Archimedes, tongue lolling out the side of its mouth.
But as Poochyena approached, Archimedes took to the air just in time to avoid the slobbering canine, putting his superior speed to use. Zipping around in an almost flashy way, the Pidove dove down on Poochyena as it turned its head round in confusion. Taking his chance as the wolf made the mistake of not looking behind it, Archimedes swooped in.
The lightning fast Pidove careened into Poochyena with enough force to bowl it over and send it skidding away. As the momentum pushing it quickly dissipated, Poochyena came to a halt up against some bushes and uttered a soft chuff before closing its eyes. Flying back over to Avila, Archimedes emitted a triumphant coo. Victory at last!

"Nice job, Pidove!" Avila called out in celebration. It was clear that their efforts had been given in this round as they managed to stop the Poochyena from doing any more damage. She could even tell that the bird pokemon seemed calmer than before now that the poochyena had been taken down. As the Poochyena fainted, Archimedes began to circle back over to where Avila was. But something wasn't right and Avila noticed it too. Archimedes got quiet through his celebration as he began to turn a bright white. His body started to change, his wings got bigger, and his body over all changed, his feathers on his back too were starting to become too large for a tiny Pidove. And that's when Avila realized it was another evolution, she had seen several of these already and each time it never failed to amaze her. She had seen a good chunk of her team evolve but she knew that they were far from over yet, Blazebit needed to evolve into Charizard, Aphrodite into Samurott, Chloe into Superior, Permifrost into Piloswine and Pyrrhus into Typhlosion. All of which would be great evolutions when the day came for it.
"Yay Archimedes you got your evolution in and you are a brilliant colored bird!" Avila noticed as she hugged the bird pokemon as it came over to her. She however was careful not to sufficate the bird pokemon in her grasp. But she knew that she had to start focusing on Pyrrhus. She was planning on using the Quilava, Archimedes and Blazebit in battle against Bugsy. And if worst case scenario she'd send out Aphrodite too in case she had to use her. "I'm always excited to see it when you guys evolve, you never sece to amaze me." Avila said with a smile as she let the new tranquil take flight again as she looked back knowing that it was Pyrrhus' time to train. Once he got about to level 21 Avila would say it was time for the gym battle for sure. Though some sleep would probably be useful before she went for it.
"Alright Pyrrhus it's your turn now." Avila said as she tossed the quilava's pokeball into the air as the pokemon appeared. He was rather small in size compared to Archimede's new form, but as she learned size wasn't everything in battle. It was the involvement of strength and strategy. Now she couldn't wait to see what was going to happen while they were training with her quilava. She'd probably learn a lot more about Pyrrhus as they went.
Ooc; letting Archimedes evolve into trainquil, starting to train for Pyrrhus my Quilava.

As the evolution of Archimedes from Pidove into a Tranquill alerted many of the nocturnal Pokemon in the area, causing them to either flee or continue watching, it was Avila's decision to remain on the route for a little while longer. Preparing for the local Gym challenge was serious business and Bugsy was not known to be a simple walk in the park. Focusing on specific types which would be useful in the upcoming battle was a strategy worth following and it was particularly nice on this calm evening. Not a single cloud shrouded the star covered sky but instead, a cold wind had begun to pick up. Rustling the leaves and sending chills across the body, it was only going to get darker as the night progressed. But being next to a fiery Pokemon such as Quilava, it was unlikely that the drop in temperature would bother Avila too much.
Continuing on with her training session, a Pokemon which had watched the previous battle between Archimedes and the Poochyena soon appeared, a look of adolescent innocent apparent in the Pokemon's eyes. Young but wanting to prove itself, a male Nidoran had separated himself from his group and went off to find worthy opponents to battle and increase his strength. If he became stronger, then surely their herd would recognise him as their new leader and it just so happened that Avila and her team were the first non-wild Pokemon that the Nidoran had stumbled across. Portraying itself as confident and powerful, the Pokemon had stepped into the path of the female trainer calmly and without hesitation. Eyes narrowing up at her, he seemed unlikely to move until she accepted it's rather bland issue of a challenge. If she tried to run away, it would headbutt her legs until she paid it some attention!
A wild Nidoran♂ (Level 12) has appeared! Please select a Pokemon to use in battle.

Avila knew that Pyrrhus might not be able to handle pokemon right away but he would certainly be able to put up a heavy fight towards an opponent. If Pyrrhus couldn't handle a heavy battle Avila knew to swap him out before things got worse. "Pyrrhus look there's a nidoran. How about we take on that pokemon to see how you're doing now with battles?" Avila asked knowing that his help with this training would move things along against the battle with Bugsy. The Quilava nodded back towards Avila as the purple pokemon could be spotted nearby. With his flames bright on his head it was clear he was ready for a battle too and they were warm, it reminded her of Blazebit's strength in his own fire on his tail.
"Quil quil!" the Quilava said excitedly as he flared his fire preparing himself for the battle. he was weary of his surroundings not wanting to catch anything on fire by accident or intentional knowing that would have a bad consequence in the end. "Pyrrhus use Ember!" She called out towards her fire pokemon.
The Quilava inhaled heavily as it watched the Nidoran to see what it'd do. Pyrrhus was careful since he knew that they had sharp pointy barbs. And if he had been injected in the right spot things would've gone very bad, very quickly as the poison would take its tool on him. Once he couldn't handle it any more the Quilava released some small charred flames towards his Opponent the nidoran that had been awoken or possibly disturbed by the trainer as they approached. She did feel sorry for fainting all of these pokemon but it'd be worth it in the long run when they pressed on. Avila knew there was a reason behind it, and she helped save all those slow poke from Team Rocket earlier.

Vs. Nidoran♂ - - - - - - - - - - - - - Wary was Nidoran♂ was, the fire that blazed up on Pyrrhus was a tempting lure, the warmth a beacon to one chilly rodent. He knew getting cozy with a trainer's Pokémon would only end badly however, and held himself in place while eyeing his opponent carefully. Fire-types were something he hadn't encountered personally, only catching the occasional glimpse as other trainers too had prepared for the local gym. Hopping forwards as he steeled his nerves, Pyrrhus was the one would strike first, flames burning brightly as the heat within grew until it couldn't be contained any more.
Breath fogging in the night air, the Quilava narrowed his eyes and spewed out a scattering of flames. Tensing up, Nidoran♂ hunkered down low on the ground and tried to make himself as small as possible, a useless but valiant effort. Flames licking across his hide, Nidoran♂ emitted a shrill growl of pain and thrashed, shying away from the worst of the attack in his throes of agony. The reaction almost made Pyrrhus feel guilty for having used Ember, but this was a battle after all.
Recovering rather swiftly, Nidoran♂'s eyes squinted angrily at Pyrrhus, pawing at the ground in a furious manner. Abruptly ceasing his tantrum, Nidoran♂ took a deep, steadying breath to focus his mind. A faint orange glow enveloped the rodent, the only sign that he had performed an attack of some sort. Nidoran♂ opened his eyes with a much calmer expression, almost smirking at Pyrrhus.

"Becareful, Pyrrhus, we don't want to get too close to the nidoran those spikes are sharp and we don't want to rush you to the pokemon center." Avila warned as she looked back at her pokemon. The Quilava gave a soft "Quill" From his voice as he seemed pretty satisfied on how the battle was going. His flames lit up in the cold dusk filled night and kept Avila warm at the same time. Stars twinkled in the evening sky as if they were dancing, and so for that she knew that this night would be a long one but well worth it. She wanted everyone to at least show that they were a formidable opponent for Bugsy and bringing the three that she had no was going to be a big help.
"Pyrrhus use another Ember attack!" She called out watching her pokemon carefully. Pyrrhus let out a low breath as its arm breath could be seen. Soon Quilava let out a couple of harsh flames towards the Nidoran. Pyrrhus noticed how the Nidoran had a curious side for him and as well as his trainer. He wondered if the Nidoran had never seen humans or fire pokemon like himself before. THough Pyrrhus had noticed that there weren't too many fire type pokemon in the area which might've explained some of it. The type wasn't all that common. But that was ok with Pyrrhus, he knew there were other fire types out there somewhere, they just hadn't looked hard enough yet.
The pokemon couldn't get side tracked right now in the midst of a battle but the sky was just asking for it. It was beatiful out and being down in that dark well just made you want to look up at the sky for a change. However as quick as the Quilava looked at it, he had the reminder in his head that a battle was going on. Sightseeing can be done later.

Vs. Nidoran♂ - - - - - - - - - - - - - Calm and collected, Nidoran♂ continued to watch Pyrrhus curiously, wondering why the Quilava hadn't gotten up close with it. Moving closer would mean less risk of missing an attack, something the rabbit had hammered into him by experience. Shaking his head to chase away any distracting thoughts, Nidoran♂ held his breath as Pyrrhus shifted and raised his head to attack once more, heating the air considerably with his blazing flames. Feeling the warmth was pleasant enough, but it heralded a painful attack, the Poison-type crouching down again to withstand the attack as best as he could.
Wasting little time in spewing more fire, Pyrrhus took a tentative step forward to better aim them, a great foggy blast accompanying his attack. The Nidoran♂ bit down on a pained squeal as the embers rained down upon him, body quivering wildly from the agony he was enduring. Settling back, Pyrrhus turned his head to gaze at his seemingly petrified opponent, wondering why the rodent had yet to strike back. A quick glance back at Avila was natural for him to do, but the moment he looked away from the Nidoran♂, the rodent sprang.
Rapidly eating up the distance between them, Nidoran♂ let loose a sharp growl that had Pyrrhus whirling round in surprise. Darting in, the Poison-type sank sharp teeth deep into Pyrrhus' front paw and retreated just as fast. Shaking his injured paw, the Quilava growled quietly while watching the Nidoran♂ scamper away with a superior smirk.

It was a critical hit? Well that was a bit too quickly, as far as Pyrrhus was able to tell. The pokemon stood preparing itself as he braced for the impact. As the stars twinkled in the sky, they seemed to keep in rhythm of the time of night. The crescent moon was above as it looked like it was smiling right down at them. It might be some time before the moon was full, but there were always the phrases of how the full moon was unlucky, and even brought out the worst in some people. But Avila didn't seem to be a believer in those types of things.
Pyrrhus was surprised at the sudden attack at how powerful the attack was from the purple pokemon. the Quilava had his back and forehead flared from the fire that he was emmitting from his body. The heat and the warmth from the pokemon could be felt for some amount of distance away. Avila didn't mind wearing a weaker jacket, then the one she normally wore when it was winter time. This seemed to be a temporary help in the meantime. "Pyrrhus, are you ok? That looked like it hurt." Avila said but Pyrrhus shook his head as he otherwise seemed alright and was prepared to finish things off while they still had a chance of finishing this battle. So far she hadn't come across a pokemon that Avila wasn't real interested in, but maybe there would be a surprise along the way.
"Pyrrhus, let's see if one more Ember attack does it!" Avila called out as Pyrrhus nodded. The fire type pokemon inhaled once more and felt the fire burn within him. IT wasn't long before he let out charcoal flames towards the Nidoran, for one more ember attack. The attacks were probably getting tiring but it was clear that her Quilava was gong to be able to finish off this battle relatively easy. So far, they hadn't come across a challenge that he hadn't been able to beat.
