Feeling it's chest tighten, the previous attacks had led to the Nidoran becoming considerably weaker but that didn't mean it was just going to give up. Smirking to itself as the human seemed concerned over her Quilava, the Nidoran had place every shred of energy it had into that attack, leading to a powerful critical and clearly catching Pyrrhus off guard. Yet, although the fiery Pokemon held his paw slightly above the ground, the gentle throb wasn't painful for too much longer. If anything, it was the surprising speed that had shocked him but the initial feeling of shock was now over. Placing his paw sturdily back on the ground, he glared at the opposing Nidoran, showing that he too, was an opponent who was prepared to fight on.
Nattering it's teeth, the Nidoran tutted in disappointment. Hoping that the critical hit would've been enough to prove it's dominance, instead, the Quilava was still standing. Remaining on his wobbling legs, the poisonous male had a glint in his eye but whatever plan it had thought up, there was no use in using it. Pyrrhus stepped forward, the flames on his back burning brightly with pride. Opening his mouth at Avila's command, he shot forth a scattering array of burning embers, which singed the hide of the Nidoran and caused it to faint from the pain.

"Nice job Pyrrhus you had a great display out there!" Avila said with a smile and a quick celebration as one hand shot up into the air as it was balled into a fist. Even Pyrrhus had given his trainer a smile as he stood poised a bit until he had confirmed that the Nidoran was down for good. Pyrrhus had already done a great job on his first battle and went around with flying colors (No pun in tended for Archimedes, but he would probably forgive them). Seeing that they still had a long way to train as Pyrrhus only seemed to be half way done with his leveling. Avila had hoped to get him closer to Blazebit's level who was on the stronger side of things.
Avila already had a plan formed when it came taking on Bugsy. Archimedes would come in for the first few pokemon then Pyrrhus, and lastly her power hitter Blazebit. All of them had their strengths when it came to bug pokemon, and if needed she'd send Permifrost and Aphrodite into the mix if things really got bad fast. It was always important to have a backup plan.
"Come on Pyrrhus, let's see what else is in this grass so we can train some more. I have a feeling at this rate you'll level up pretty fast." Avila said with a soft smile. The Quilava bounded after her with his fire ablaze. However, he was careful not to set some nearby grass on fire and would often put it out. But he was like a flash light for Avila as they went through the dark sky. But the moon was also serving a decent light source as the dimly lit areas would keep some pokemon and hopefully some would come out. Though Avila wondered if there were any other people out at this late at night? What would they be doing at this time? Well her excuse was training.

Training with the idea of defeating Bugsy at the back of her mind, Avila planned to continue to help her Pokemon progress to greater strengths throughout the night. Stepping through the cool darkness with only the light from Pyrrhus' flames to guide her, the world was truly different at night. Dark, calm and quiet to the point that it could be classed as spooky, as long as a trainer had their Pokemon, there was no real reason to fear the dark. After all, going over and over the strategy against Bugsy in her mind was likely enough to distract her from the eerie feeling of the night. Cautiously venturing through the tall grass, every now and then there would be a frantic rustle from night predators escaping in fear from the Quilava's flames. But soon enough, an opponent would show it's face and this one would laugh in the face of fear.
Escaping it's herd which had landed for the night, a lone Hoppip floated through the night breeze, flapping the weed like leaves upon it's head frantically to keep itself afloat. This Hoppip was unlike any other, it was rebellious to the point where it wanted to explore the world on it's own accord. No longer did it want to rely on others for help, it wanted to jump head first into the wind and allow nature to carry it's pink body wherever it wanted. However, on the one night it decided to run away from it's friends, the winds of fate had ended up leading the lone Pokemon directly into the path of Avila. Floating above the tall grass but in clear view, the Hoppip came face to face with a human but it didn't back down. If it believed it could win, then it could do anything! Puffing out it's cheeks, the Pokemon tried it's best to float closer to the human girl, chirping out in a less than intimidating manner as if issuing her with a challenge.

A noise could be heard nearby as her Quilava jumped up from his forlegged position. It was as if his eyes spotted something before his trainer did. Pyrrhus was very alert and ever since his attempt to go through the Bellsprout Tower he seemed to have learned some sort of lesson. Avila laughed a little in side wondering what the monks would've thought by now if they saw Pyrrhus like this. The Cyndaquil had evolved and likely would evolve somewhere down along the road into his final form which would be Typlosion. As the two stood there trying to see what was coming, a Hoppip jumped out of the bushes and it startled them both but it wasn't enough for Avila to run away screaming, she was a tough cookie.
"What was that? Are you alright Pyrrhus hopefully it didn't startle you so badly?" Avila asked as Quilava shook his head in response showing a rather meaningful "no." The Quilava had probably seen several frightening moments since she had read somewhere that often there were ghosts or spirits in Sprout Tower. Maybe Pyrrhus had encountered one on his attempt to rise to the top and beat the grand master? Anything was possible. "Let's go then, Pyrrhus it looks like a pokemon!" She said as Quilava started to move forward to light up the area. He realized it had been a pokemon and the Hoppip puffed up its tiny pink cheeks. "So it's a Hoppip? Let's see if we can try and catch it!" Avila said as she seemed excited as she had a chance to try and capture a new pokemon while they were out training.
"Pyrrhus use Tackle!" She called out towards Quilava. He raced forward in a redish blue blur as the pokemon was preparing for the attack. Once he was close enough, he prepared himself for the sharp tackle. Hopefully this would be enough to hit or at least make it count. If Avila did have to take QUilava out, he would still get some experience from it.

Vs. Hoppip - - - - - - - - - - - - - Hoppip's bravery didn't wane as it belatedly realized it was facing a Fire-type, resolved to its new fate. If it didn't try to conquer this obstacle, then perhaps a solitary life style was not the one for it. Swaying in the air while it thought hard of how to best proceed, it kept a careful eye on Pyrrhus, sensing it would be unwise to let its attention drift for too long. Pyrrhus narrowed his eyes on his airborne foe, quickly working out the best method of approach before he was off, a lithe shadow in the dark grass apart from the flickering flames that alighted his body.
Quick, far too quick for Hoppip to react, Pyrrhus was below the floating Grass-type and executing a short leap that would bring him on its level. Head impacting with the smaller Pokémon, the Quilava dropped back with a muffled thump, eyes widening fractionally as he watched Hoppip right itself after a moment of flailing about. Hoppip's altitude had dropped somewhat from the blow, leaving it just skirting the top of the grass, but it remained afloat by sheer will.
Tiny eyes narrowing in determination, the Grass-type reared back and swung itself down at Pyrrhus. Not a very intimidating sight, seeing it approach at a moderately slow pace, but the Tackle it delivered back to him right on the snout was enough to send pain radiating down his face. Pyrrhus winced and moved back as Hoppip fluttered its leaves overtime to ascend back up, absently rubbing his throbbing nose with a paw.

Avila was really tempted to use another ember attack but maybe they should go a different route this time. The grass pokemon likely would've fainted in an instantly, but frankly she wanted to catch it. The only other grass pokemon that she had on the team was Chloe and she couldn't always rely on Servine to win all the time. THis made her concerned for Chloe's safe. What if there was a time when she needed the grass pokemon? This would be a perfect scenario for it and Avila knew it. "Alright, Pyrrhus let's see if you can do another tackle!" Avila called out seeing how Pyrrhus managed to shake off that last tackle like it was nothing. She had confidence in her pokemon that they'd help push forward in the battle with Bugsy.
When Pyrrhus heard the attack being called be backed up using fancy footwork. When he was ready, the pokemon soon took off racing forward, his flames alive with fire on his forehead and his rear. When he was close enough, he prepared a powerful tackle attack again. He was using himself and angled himself to try and slam into the Hoppip. With it hovering in air it looked like a tricky move to pull off. Avila had one hand on an empty pokeball as she quickly searched for it in her bag. For being surprisingly neat and having several compartments in it, it took her for a few seconds to find it. "Here's the pokeball and let's hope this works Pyrrhus." Avila said hoping that she'd be able to catch this one.

Her hand resting on an empty Pokeball, Avila was prepared to throw the capturing device at just the right moment and luckily, the Hoppip wasn't focused on her what so ever to even notice her plan. Far too focused on Pyrrhus, a single question was blaring in the mind of the floating weed. Why had it not been torched with some kind of fire attack? It was either the fact that the Quilava had no fire type moves or the Hoppip was being looked down upon, the latter sticking in the Hoppip's mind the most. Usually the brunt of jokes in the area, the Hoppip species were usually excellent to train against due to them being so weak. Was this trainer simply showing the Hoppip some pity? Because it didn't want any of it.
Puffing out it's cheeks angrily, this gave the Pokemon even more reason to win. It wasn't like the rest of it's brethren. Even against fire types, this Hoppip was going to win! Ordering the same attack as last time, the Hoppip was atleast prepared for the agile movements of the Quilava. Moving into nothing but a blur, Pyrrhus escaped from the line of sight of the Hoppip and ran straight towards the nearest tree. Not being able to use the same tactic twice, he instead pushed himself off of a tree trunk, propelling himself up into the air. His momentum giving him enough speed, the Quilava lept through the air and approached the puzzled Hoppip from behind, tackling the floating pink weed to the ground.
Feeling it's body drag against the dirt path, the Hoppip flinched at the pain but soon managed to wriggle itself free from the grasp of Pyrrhus. Keeping it's back turned towards the Quilava, the tiny Hoppip began to shake it's tail from left to right in a hypnotic manner. If it came across as weak and helpless, only able to shake it's tail around, then surely Pyrrhus would end up lowering it's defences, making it easier for Hoppip to attack.

"Nice Job, Pyrrhus we managed to bring down the hoppip's health quite a bit." Avila said. Though the Hoppip was confused about some things. Avila happened to have some pokemon that were supposedly over looked by others. However Avila saw the strength that had come from many of the pokemon that had been with her. Silver had already made fun of her Servine, and Chloe had managed to knock out his Croconaw within one move, with her leaf storm attack. The same could be said with Pyrrhus when he was still a Cyndaquil she managed to help him beat the inflammable Bellsprout with some help of course. So this Hoppip would be no different.
"Ok Pyrrhus stand back, here it goes!" Avila called out as she had her great ball in hand and tossed the pokeball towards the grass pokemon. Her preference had been great balls for some time as they usually worked now. And Pyrrhus stood off to the side, with his flame on his forehead and his back ablaze. He knew he had to be ready in case something bad were to happen. The Hoppip might escape if something went bad. But so far, Pyrrhus hadn't deemed the Hoppip too big of a threat, if they had difficulties catching it, Avila might faint it. But so far she was keen on capturing it as the pokeball flew through the air, and hoped that it'd be a success. But of course, it was a game of cat and mouse on capturing pokemon sometimes.
"Come on great ball, let's hope it works." Avila said hoping that her luck was with her now. She'd certainly needed it when she faced bugsy. Worrying about it now made her nervous but she also had some confidence in her abilities as well. The Gym leaders were tests of strength and to make sure that they were ready for other challenges that were beyond the gym leader. And she knew that Azelea's famous Illex forest stood in their midst.
Ooc: No move was called, great ball is used. Self updating.

Still in a lot of pain from the last round Hoppip was ready to go all out this round as it was not feeling very well after the two tackle attacks. The flying plant used every last bit of energy it had just to stand up and attempt to use fairy wind in desperation however it lacked the energy and reaction time to do so as Avila's great ball sped towards it. As every inch of Hoppip's body ached it did not have the endurance to put up with the pain and jump out of the way. The ball scored a hit center mass before opening up from the impact and the plant Pokemon disappeared inside the ball as it fell to the ground. As the blue and white ball hit the ground and began to shake the Hoppip could only muster enough strength to shake the ball a tiny bit in each direction but nothing serious enough to cause it any trouble. After three tiny wobbles in each direction Hoppip finally had enough and accepted that it had lost this battle despite trying to prove not all of the members of it's species were weak. As the ball clicked shut Hoppip began to feel a bit better physically though the loss had taken quite a toll mentally. Not knowing what Avila planned to do with it Hoppip sat in it's ball scared of what would happen next now that it had an owner. Pyrrhus on the other hand had to hardly break a sweat to win the battle and he began to feel a little bit stronger thanks to his victory. His opponent was hardly very dangerous however he had still won nonetheless. Pyrrhus fought well and gained 2 levels. He is now level 18. He also gained +1 happiness and he has +6 happiness overall. It seemed like it took forever to find out if the pokemon was caught. The greatball flew through the airbefore it struck the hoppip and disappeared. IT wiggled once, twice, and then a third tme before it was caught and a loud ting noise could be heard. It was over and Avila seemed rather happy to have captured another pokemon on the team. Sure Hoppip were considered weak and could be used to train against for certain pokemon but Avila saw potential in the pokemon and perhaps down the road she'd be able to train it. "Alright we caught another one Pyrrhus. We'll keep going just a bitlonger. You've done a great job on your training." Avila said as she walked over to where the greatball sat in the grass and she picked it up knowing it'd go straight to her box since she wasn't using hoppip right away. Her Quilava so far had hardly broken a sweat when it had come to battling pokemon.Maybe battling Bugsy would just be as easy since she had several high leveled twenty pokemon in her team. She knew that Permifrost and Blazebit would be saved until the end since they were very strong members of the team. "Let's keep going then." Avila said as they began explore the grass that was on the edge of azelea town. It wasn't long now.Another chane to prove herself and as well as her pokemon that they were ready. It also seemed like the battle with Team Rocket had long snce been forgotten about since she had been occupied on one thing only. Defeating Bugsy. Pyrrhus meanwhile stayed close to his trainer's side as he continued to light the way. They really didn't know how dark it was that evening or how much time had passed for them. It was hard to say to be honest. Still, he didn't mind spending time with Avila like this, it was a chance to bond and to show that he was a tough pokemon. Maybe one day, he'd be able to evolve into his final form which was Typlosion, but it seemed like a long ways away still. HoppipName: Twileaf Gender: Female] Level: 13 Attacks: Poisonpowder, Fairy Wind, Tackle, Tail Whip Ability: Chlorophyll Nature/Personality: Quirky Ooc: Boxing Hoppip and looking for more pokemon might be my last battle since raising Quilava up to level 20 at least.

With the bonds between Pyrrhus and Avila growing ever stronger, the two continued venturing through the darkness of the late evening. Getting to the point where he was day dreaming of his evolution, a sudden smell hit the nose of the young Quilava. Glancing up to his trainer in wonder, pondering if she had brought along some sort of sweet treats, it quickly became obvious that the smell wasn't coming from her. Stopping in his tracks, the nose of the Quilava lifted into the air and began to twitch frantically. Whatever the smell was, it was incredibly tempting and inviting which gave him the urge to seek it out. Carefully nudging against the legs of his trainer, Pyrrhus tried to portray to Avila that he wanted her to follow him. Taking several steps forward, he continued to look back, in order to make sure that she had started following him. Once he was positive Avila understood his message, the fiery Pokemon began to jog ahead, the lovely scent leading him to wriggle his way under a bush.
Popping out the other side, Pyrrhus' tracking had led the duo to a small pond, the luminosity of the moon glittering on the surface of the water. But the white reflection wasn't the only thing skimming across the surface. Blue, pond skimmer like Pokemon were happily floating on the water's surface, letting loose their natural sweet scene as they did. However, as soon as one noticed the appearance of the Quilava and his trainer, it let out a shriek, many of them suddenly fleeing into the grass near the edge of the pool of water. Leaving just one behind, it's sweet scent slowly turned incredibly sickly to the senses, as if trying to ward the pair away. But it was up to Avila if she wanted the creature known as Surskit to be a training partner for her Pokemon, or even a new companion for her team.

"Wow, what a pretty sight this is, Pyrrhus! Look!" Avila said pointing out the obvious but Pyrrhus didn't seem to mind all that much. What they had come across was something stunning and beautiful. Even a place near Azalea had managed to find some hidden secrets. Maybe there was something worth while to training Pyrrhus, all the way out here. They found something so amazing that it would probably remain in a memory in her mind for such a long time. But anyways, her attention quickly turned when she noticed that a pokemon was nearby. But there was also something else that came along with them. The pokemon was known as Surskit, a cute little blue spider pokemon that was not only bug and it had a water type also.
Even Pyrrhus winced, at the sudden stench that the pokemon was giving off. It was awful, he even put a paw in front of his nose to stop it from bothering him from nearly collapsing from it. How did a pokemon stand it? There was no way that he'd find out as Avila also noticed it. "Oh man, that is such a bad smell. Pyrrhus, I might just give you a break this round. You don't have to fight but I'll send someone else out instead." Avila said, as she called Pyrrhus out into the first round of things. However, she quickly called him back as the battle started, it was clear she wanted to catch this Surskit despite the smell that was on it. Surely this would only be something temporary.
"Chloe, let's show the surskit what you've got!" Avila called out as a new pokemon arrived onto the field and it was her Servine. The leaf pokemon didn't seem to be bothered as much by the scent.Perhaps she had been used to something like that? Or her nose wasn't as good as it seemed? Either way, the Servine was ready to attack as she swished her leafy tail back and forth. The snake pokemon's eyes were in the direction of the Surskit as she seemed to echo her trainer's excitement. It had been awhile since she had been used!
"Chloe use Leach Seed!" Avila called out. And with some quick movements, some seed sprouted out of Chloe's back as she sent them in the direction of the Surskit. Though the Servine wasn't attacking fully, the Leach Seed would be useful. Since the last thing Avila wanted was to faint the Surskit by accident. Who knew when it would come to the chance of finding another one, and be this lucky?

As Avila recalled Pyrrhus the Surskit thought that it's sweet scent had been too strong for the trainer and that it would be allowed to leave without a battle. The bug was willing to fight if it had to however it was not a fan of battles when they could be avoided. When Avila sent out her Servine Chloe however the bug Pokemon had no choice but to battle and it had to think quick to take advantage of it's free turn thanks to Avila switching Pokemon and what better move to use when you are in a hurry than Quick Attack? The bug thought to itself as it skidded across the water in a mad dash towards Chloe. Using it's quick reflexes Surskit ran right into the Servine before heading back to it's starting position trying to keep distance from the grass type as much as it could. The snake Pokemon did not seem to be able to react to the attack with any kind of speed however and so Surskit repeated the Quick attack trying it's luck again however it was exactly what Chloe wanted it to do and as the bug collided with her again she fired a parasitic seed at the bug that began to sap it's energy right after the impact. It was not something Suskit had planned for at all and it was not paying the price. The bug type squirmed as the seeds zapped it every few seconds and the vines attached to the seed gave Chloe some of her energy back that she had lost from the two collisions. At this point Surskit was freaking out trying to remove the seeds from it's body but they had such a strong connection to it's body that they would not come off no matter what Surskit tried to do. Realizing the only way to get rid of the seeds was to see this battle through to the end the water spider was not exactly the strongest fighter around. Waiting for the next round to begin Surskit closed it's eyes trying to endure the painful zaps of the seeds hoping that the snake would use a move that would remove the seeds. Surskit: | Level 14| Health: 87% (34/39 HP) Status: Normal, What are these seeds doing to me? Move: Quick Attack x2
Avila's Chloe: | Level 21 | Health: 96% (60/62 HP) Status: Normal, These seeds are a real parasite! Move: Pyrrhus sent out and then switched for Chloe, Leech Seed
Ooc: Quick Attack did 4 damage in the first hit and 3 on the second and then Leech Seed recovered 5 hp so 2 hp damage overall to Chloe

The Surskit had a look of terror and confusion on its face as it seemed to have no idea what was going on or what these seeds were. The parasitic seeds, as predicted began to sap health from the bug pokemon assuring that Chloe got some health back and it looked like those two baragge of Quick Attacks almost did nothing thanks to the leach seed that Chloe had done earlier. Though they had to be careful one wrong move and they could've fainted the surskit right on the spot if things went bad for them. "Alright, Chloe use Tackle! Let's keep it up, you're doing great so far and I'm sure you can do the same in the future." Avila said knowing there wasn't much to say here in the battle but she could at least help boost her grass pokemon's confidence.
With that in mind, the Servine bounded forward, swishing her tail back and forth before she got close enough to the surskit. USing her leafy tail, she swept it forward like a heavy whiches broom, and to many they would've likely suspected it to be a fragile tail. But servine were known to have rather strong tails with that in mind, and so with that she prepared a powerful slam right into the Surskit. There was determination in the pokemon's beedy red eyes. She wasn't about to let the surskit get the upper hand just because it was a water bug pokemon. She'd do her best to show that she was the stronger of the two.
Avila and her Pyrrhus stood on the side watching as it all came forward. The stench of the surskit still lingered as an idea that came forward. "Hey let's see if the pokedex has anythng to say about surskit. It might help with this awful smell that it gives off. IT's almost like a warning or something." Avila said as she put one hand on her nose and the other one towards her pokedex as she brought it out, and scanned the bug pokemon. That was when the electronic voice began to speak up: Surskit. It appears as if it is skating on water. It draws prey with a sweet scent from the tip of its head. Well, that explained a lot.For one the surskit was using its head to make a scent that Avila and her pokemon disliked. So that meant it considered them an enemy? Hopefully in the future, that might change once she decided to train the pokemon.
Ooc: Chloe used Tackle!

Vs. Surskit - - - - - - - - - - - - - Surskit was in a world of pain from the energy sapping seeds, and it was wearily trying to dislodge them by skating about in a mad dash. It knew to be careful with this, what with Chloe and her trainer waiting on shore, but these darn seeds were just driving it crazy. Wriggling about, it inadvertently whizzed over a shallower part of the water, thin feet sending up small ripples across the glassy surface. Chloe was already in movement as she saw the short window of opportunity unfolding before her. Splashing through the water to attack would be cumbersome, and only give the pond skater a chance to speed away.
Deciding not to be too picky, the Servine sent up a terrific splash as she waded into the water and slammed into her distracted foe. Wailing as it went whirling away, Surskit spun in ever dizzying circles before the momentum behind Chloe's Tackle finally wore off. Quickly exiting the water, Chloe smirked briefly at her handiwork before the sickeningly sweet smell came back in full force to wipe off her smug look. It was merely a defensive mechanism brought on by Surskit's panic, as annoying as it was.
Waiting until the world stopped spinning in a nauseating blur, Surskit dared to skate over to the edge of the water, letting itself sink down with a light splash. Chloe watched, confused, as the spider-like creature stepped out and make a quick spinning motion, sending droplets of water flying everywhere. This was cut short as the Leech Seed activated once again, draining more health from its unfortunate victim.
