Returning to the outland island of Cianwood once more via speedy return of Salazar's wings, it wasn't long before Joey retraced his steps to the outside of the safari gates. Looking up at them with a definite excitement flickering in his eyes, his arms elevated to tighten up his bandanna at the back. " Heh heh, After all the thievin' and adventurin' i've got myself into, i'm sure it wouldn't hurt to take a break roamin' the plains once more." Stepping forward, he slipped by the gates and helped himself to some safari balls which just so happened to be lying about unattended. Pushing on through undetected, he quickly jaunted along the corridor which led out to a number of different exits. The one he was most interested in however was the savannah zone. "Had some fun there last time, wonder what thrills are to be had on this return trip?" A cocksure grin firmly spread over his face, he made short work of the path before being greeted with the unmistakeable atmosphere of a savannah greeting him with the sun beating down on his person. " Phew... Seems a little hotter than last time." Shrugging it off with a cavalier motion, he pocketed his hands into his sides and began sauntering off looking for some encounters.

Sneaking his way into the Safari Zone, Joey found himself attracted to the Savannah Area and with a mixture of Safari Balls and Bait in hand, it wasn't long before he found himself standing in his desired area of choice. Across Johto, a wild hail storm was raging, so being able to enjoy a nice bit of heat was something different, at the very least. The Savannah was a wide area, scattered with golden grasses, dusty earth and the occasional patch of trees and watering holes for lurking Pokemon. As he stepped in deeper, the many sights and sounds of wild Pokemon surrounded him. With the sound of pounding feet echoing in the distance as a flock of Doduo dashed across the grass before him.
None were about to approach the male, however, as something else had their beady eyes set on him. Laying casually across a rock in the middle of a Savannah was a pale pelted feline known as Persian. Enjoying a nice bit of sunbathing, it heard the sound of human footsteps and wearily lifted it's head to look, the ruby red gem atop it's head glistening in the sun. Yawning lazily, the feline flicked it's tail. Since having a Meowth of his own, Joey would likely understand how unpredictable felines could be. If he were to start any interaction, it was best to be careful.

His focus averting over to the herd of Doduo making their way across the plains, he made something if a disappointing cluck with his tongue before moving on and accepting they had a different route entirely. " S'pose I should be thankful. Don't want some Doduo herd runnin' amok over me. I may not exactly be pristine but I can't be doin' with footprints all over me." Chuckling it over, he was rewarded elsewhere. His exploring had meant he had come across a rather lithe, predator of the wild. In truth he had been drawn to the creature's presence not by its movements but rather the glistening ruby like adornment to its forehead. Where valuables and loot where present, there was no doubt Joe's interest would be piqued. Stopping himself to examine carefully, he took in the sight of the wild beast. Clearly powerful given its frame it also boasted a very agile look about it. There was no doubt a Persian would be a real predator to watch out for should one really be traipsing around in an actual savannah out in the wild. Although, this one didn't seem to be engaging in its predatory role all that much as it lazed about in the way of Joey's progression. Cocking a smile, Joey decided to engage with it. " Easy now kitty cat. Ain't nobody but Joe here. You can trust ol' Joey." Knowing it could change its mind about lazing about in the sun and lash out for him, he hoped to be the one keeping the Persian on its toes by taking the lead over it. Grasping a safari ball from the stash he had 'borrowed', he primed it for capture and using his dexterous hands to play with it some, hoping to catch the big cat's attention in it. " Look at this ball. Looks like a load of fun, huh? Haha!" Rolling it around the outer and inside of his hand, he smoothly rolled it along his arm, behind his back and on along his other arm before grasping it in his throwing hand. " Does kitty wanna play with the ball?" Quickly launching into a toss, he threw a safari ball. If the ball should work, he'd have to think about easing the Persian into the warehouse with all the other personalities or maybe find it a new trainer to look after it. - Joey tosses a safari ball! -

Having just awoken from a cat nap Persian was in a rather good mood. The feline took interest in Joey as he spoke as most humans did not have the courage to approach a Persian in the Safari Zone as they were known to be more aggressive than ones found in other areas. This one however was just looking for something fun to do as it had been sleeping for hours with nothing fun going on all day. As the cat slowly walked towards Joey it saw him with a ball in his hand and being obsessed with balls the cat began to purr wanting to play with the mysterious round object. Little did it know what would happen once it tried to play with the round object. As Joey tossed the ball Persian jumped up to catch it and play with the ball. As soon as the ball made contact however it opened trapping the feline inside. The cat was so stunned by what happened that it took a moment for it to even begin to struggle in a desperate attempt to escape. The cat was full of energy and tried anything it could to bust out. Slamming itself against the sides of the balls interior the ball shook from side to side. Even with all of the cats might however the ball would not give in and open and before long the ball clicked shut trapping the feline inside. Persian had the made mistake of trusting Joey and now it had learned the consequences of that poor decision. Congratulations Persian was captured. Please complete the code below:

Observing the stark change in the Persian's mood, there was no doubt the cat nap had been of benefit in energising the big cat. Watching as his pitch made its way over to the Pokemon, he was impressed to see it rise to the challenge in meeting with it. Sadly, he had not really explained that it was a capture device rather than a fun ball of yarn to play with. " Oops, sorry there. Kinda slipped m'mind to tell you about that other bit. Don't worry, it's all cosy inside. Sure you'll enjoy it." Giving the Pokemon a cheery grin as it was absorbed inside, the rogue thief wanted to be sure there were no hard feelings. Last thing he wanted was it bursting out and going to pounce on him in retaliation. Thankfully there'd be no such problem. Rocking back and forth, the creature was captured and Joey was able to get out unscathed. Retrieving the device, he let out a stretch of his arms and made his next move. " Time to mosey over here I guess." Leaving the area he had encountered the Persian, he pressed on. - Joey continues to explore the savannah - OOC: Boxing Persian and selling.

Moving past the rock where the Persian had been sunbathing on, it wasn't long at all before Joey was able to spot his next potential encounter. A mere stones throw away was a small patch of water, where a group of Rhyhorn had decided to temporarily graze and have a short drink. The sound of Joey's nearby footsteps had alerted one or two, their heads lifting to see the source of the approaching sound. One of them grunting deeply, the group didn't exactly charge off in fear of the human presence but they certainly didn't want to gather around him or interact either. Each of the Rhyhorn moving in the opposite direction to try and avoid confrontation with Joey, there was atleast one Rhyhorn who had separated from the pack.
Closest to the human, this Rhyhorn was unlike the other calm members of it's herd. In fact, it was almost as if this Rhyhorn was a lone wolf and acted separately from them entirely. Steam blowing from it's nostrils, it appeared that the patch of grass it wanted to munch had now been touched by the boots of Joey. Raising it's head, the Rhyhorn let loose a loud roar before lifting it's feet and literally charging at him in anger!

Approaching ever nearer to the next serving of adventure, he was quick to realise that he had best soften the pace of his walking. Spotting the group of Rhyhorn herding together, he was aware kicking up too much of a fuss would prove to be fatal for him should they decide to rampage in his direction. " Oh gee... This escalated pretty quick bumping into this group of Rhyhorn so early." A slight but noticeable smile crept over his face as he looked up and was clearly thanking his Lady Luck. " Wonder if any of these beasties are from my previous escapade... Wai-wha?!" His thoughts trailing off into a bluster of confusion out loud, he was shocked to see he had been far from his usual stealthy stealth and the Rhyhorn group had taken note of his presence. Watching as they all moved themselves on, Joey pulled an irritable face. " Oh c'mon, do I smell or somethin'?" Lifting up an arm to take a whiff of his armpit, he was about to make a remark when it became abundantly clear that one of the Rhyhorn had broken off from its group. " Judgin' from yer aggressive stance, I reckon you wanna be shot of me, huh?" A daredevil grin spread over his face, Joey was pleased there was at least one who would entertain away his boredom. There were only so many sights you could take in given it was a controlled environment. " Let's rumble." Declared Joey as he watched the wild Rhyhorn gear up into a loud roar as it began it's charge at him. With its head lowered and its prominent horn now aimed directly at him, Joey would use this opportunity to play a game of chicken. Of course, he knew ultimately there was no way of getting a hulking beast like this Pokemon to veer off course. Waiting last to the last second, he rolled out the way, making use of his athletic reflexes to dodge past on the skin of his teeth. Making use of his manoeuvre, he had taken out a safari ball at the same time and in the motion of tumbling over in a roll, had quickly primed the capturing device. With the Rhyhorn's charge still in force, it meant the Pokemon was entirely open from behind. " Not bad but ya missed me." Crouching down on one knee, he lifted his arm back and tossed the ball forward with a pitch. It was worth a shot. - Joey throws a safari ball -

Barreling to the side after it's lumbering charge, Rhyhorn turned it's head with vicious energy, steam billowing out from it's nostrils in anger. It seemed as though every bit of intelligence the creature had was lost. Many of the Rhyhorn might have been timid, but no, this one had to protect itself as it had no one else watching it's back. When the momentum of it's body finally let Rhyhorn slow it's charge, it's massive head turned to glance back at Joey, being quickly met with a safari ball. Recognizing what was happening, the Rhyhorn let out an angry bellow and attempted to skirt to the side. However, it was ineffective. It clinked against Rhyhorn's body with a soft 'ping' before engulfing the stoney creature in a bright light. With a quick flash, Rhyhorn was sucked into the tiny camo capsule. Inside the smooth walls of the device, Rhyhorn charged from side to side, making the ball rock with labored swings. However, when it seemed as though it was going to click and consume the Rhyhorn, it gave one last heave and burst forward, out of the ball. It took a moment to recollect itself before glaring over at Joey for a moment. It's charge had failed, and then that had happened... the angry creature was going to have to play a little safer from now on. A gleam of understanding seemed to flash in it's eyes as it looked at Joey, as if beckoning him to make his next move. By the way it's limbs shook, however, it still had plenty of pent up aggression to let out on the man. The lone wolf needed to stay that way. It's glare could have burned holes through Joey. The wild Tauros Rhyhorn snorts, and eyes Joey warily. [ Throw Bait ] [ Throw Rock ] [ Throw Safari Ball ] [ Flee ]

Remaining light on his feet, Joey kept a keen assessment of the risk in front of him. At any moment the Rhyhorn could throw off the shackles of the safari ball and go for another fearsome charge directly at him. Having dodged and noticed its chagrin at what Joey was attempting to do, the nimble thief couldn't help but blaring out concerning the Rhyhorn's aggression. " All this gruntin' and snortin'... Jeez. You wanna impale me so hard you can taste it." Thankfully ensnared in the confines of the capture device, Joey could ease his stance and catch his breath. Leaning forward, almost double over with his hands on his knees, he kept a careful eye on the state of the ball off in the distance. " Damn, that's rockin' back and forth somethin' fierce. They don't usually wobble as hard as th... Typical!" Before he could finish what he was saying, the Safari Ball burst apart, letting the Rhyhorn free once more. Expecting it to take another horn first rampage at him, Joey hopped back in a lithe manner but as soon as he realised the Rhyhorn was wising up to his antics, he presented a coy smirk. He had pegged him as mindless in his aggression but perhaps this rhino beast had some smarts about them. " Playin' it safe, huh? Alright. That works for me. How ya gonna respond to this?" Priming another ball whilst he was talking, he lobbed it forward with a swift movement of his arms. Thankfully he wouldn't have to play dodge with the Pokemon taking a far more cautious approach. Although, a thought did cross Joey's mind. " Come to think of it... This 'mon may just try its charge now. Best keep me wits about me." Stiffening his stance, ready to perform an evasive dodge, Joey hoped the safari ball would pull through this time. If it had taken a Persian without so much a struggle, he was hoping the same would work out for this wrathful encounter. " If ya keep on sittin' there, you'll be a sittin' duck! C'mon, you want a piece of this?!" Hoping to goad and taunt him, Joey did a little shaking motion of his rear in the hopes it would get the Rhyhorn to charge forth again and meet the capturing device half way there. " To be honest, if ya do get caught up in one, it ain't gonna be so bad. You can run with me and the rest of us. It'll be an experience. Can always do with another powerhouse in the crew." - Joey lobs another Safari Ball -

As Joey began shaking his rear to taunt the Rhyhorn into charging once more, the trainer had certainly successfully enraged the creature. Eyes narrowing at the mocking motion, the Rhyhorn snorted hot air out from it's nostrils before dragging it's front leg back and forth numerous times, pulling up the dusty earth. Wanting nothing more than to impale the nosey, rude human, the Rhyhorn raised his head and let out a roar, the other lurking Rhyhorn taking this as their cue to truly flee the scene. Lowering it's head once again, the rocky creature jolted forward with it's immensely heavy body and aimed it's horn right for Joe.
It was by no means the slowest Pokemon and if the thief wasn't careful, he would final himself with an untreatable injury. With one goal in mind, the Rhyhorn moved forward but was met half way by Joey's thrown Safari Ball. Being drawn inside once more, the Rhyhorn disappeared beneath the flash of light and the ball clicked shut. Beginning to shake violently from side to side once again, this time, the shaking seemed to go on for much longer. Tossing and turning, it tried it's very best to escape but with a miraculous burst of luck, the ball had overpowered the beast. Tinging in success, the jammy ***** had only gone and nabbed himself a Rhyhorn!

This time having a better control of the situation, Joey assumed a cavalier stance as the safari ball did its business. Rocking back and forth, as violent as ever, Joey grabbed a hold of another unused device on the off chance Lady Luck were to forgo him again. There was a probable chance the Rhyhorn may lose interest and return with the rest of his pack but at that moment in time, anything could be possible. Even capture. " Come on... Come... ON!" Watching as it rocked a third and final time, Joey sported a devilish grin spread over his face as he punched up into the air with a jump. " Yeehaw! Looks like I bagged a Rhyhorn. Hahaha, oh man, my ma is gonna be so proud. My mum always loved working with Rhyhorn back at Kanto's safari zone." Moving forwards with a spring to his step, he leant forward and recovered the camouflaged ball. Tossing it up and down in his hand, he smirked to himself amusedly. " Maybe I oughta take a pic for commemoration and let m'mum know i'm doin' ok." Without really thinking it through, Joey summoned the Rhyhorn in order to take a photo to send back home. The moment he did, Joey had barely five seconds to greet the Pokemon before it reacted as if it were continuing on its rampaging charge from earlier. " Hey! Good of ya to--OOOF!" Caught point blank, the Rhyhorn barely had enough time to build up a proper run but it had at least jabbed its horn at the pesky human. Jogging on with furious stomps, it saw a convenient placement of boulders piled on another to which it could ram him into. At the very least, he had horned him. Paying no attention to Joey's struggles, the Pokemon tackled into the wall of boulders and remained still for a moment. It had thought it odd, previous times the Pokemon had bored its impressive horn into its opponents, it had felt entirely different. But this... This felt entirely off. Almost as if its horn had been jammed in and had missed its marked entirely. All would become clear as instead of cries of agony, there were cries of laughter. " Heheh... Hahahahaha... Ahahahahaha! Lady Luck sure loves me!" His head lifting up, Joey looked down at the Rhyhorn. " Y'know, that takes some real guts. I apologise for tauntin' ya all the while but err... Care to let me down? Urgh... There goes me ribs again." Using a spare hand to nurse his side, the Rhyhorn moved backs in confusion. Shaking its head from side to side, Joey managed to unhook himself off and landed on his rear in an ungraceful manner. As he did, the Rhyhorn kept shaking its head from side to side. There appeared to be something wedged. Joey began feeling around where he had been goaded and breathed a sigh of relief along with a laugh as he noticed no blood was there. Instead, a nasty hole had torn at his jacket pocket. " I seriously got lucky. Missed by a whole fraction of... Woah. Wait." Padding his pocket, he noticed that is where he had stored eviolite away. Noticing the pocket was now empty he looked over to see it had now become implanted in Rhyhorn's head. Not wanting to laugh, Joey brushed aside his amusement and stood up to walk over cautiously. " Easy, easy pal... I don't mean no trouble." Assessing the eviolite, Joey raised a perplexed eyebrow as it seemed there was no way that hunk of gemstone was coming out. " Sorry bud. Looks like it's locked in there." Making a small shrug, Joey chuckled. "It looks cool." Deciding to make the introduction, Joey spoke up again. " I'm Joe. Or Joey. Just don't call me Joseph. You an' me, we're gonna be partners now." Giving the Pokemon a thumbs up, the Rhyhorn grunted and turned away, moving over to the formation of water. Deciding it wanted a drink to cool itself down, the Rhyhorn lapped away at the water. Moving to be with him, Joey sat himself down beside it. " So, what kinda name you want? You're pretty strong and no doubt I would've been destroyed had you got me properly." Thinking it over, Joey thought back to his favourite bands and recalled a pretty heavy rock and roll song. " I know! Apollyon! Means destroyer." Looking over to the side whilst still drinking, Apollyon grunted and continued on. Giving the Pokemon a pat on the side, Joey laughed to himself. " Polly it is." Abruptly finishing its drink, the Rhyhorn irritably grunted but Joey calmed him down. " Woah! Easy! Apollyon." Leaning back, Joey rested for a bit before deciding he had plenty of safari balls left to make use of. " Hey, how about you and me go and blow this popsicle stand? Bet you've only ever really seen the never ending savannah." Thinking it over, Joey recalled safari zones to usually have distinct areas divided apart. Deciding to continue on in one direction, Joey got up and returned Apollyon to his ball. Clutching it in his hand, he spoke out. " Why don't we mosey over on here? There's a whole new world beyond these plains." - Joey roams across the Savannah and enters into the Desert - OOC: YES YES YES. Been after this for so long. As Joey began to tread across the Savannah, the already hot and dusty environment of the area around him, soon began to increase with heat and the dust and dirt had since churned into thin sand. Soon enough, the once habitable area stretched into an endless sea of sand, hills and dunes of grain particles disrupting the area from being one flat surface. Within the information guide about the Safari Zone, the Desert area is said to have the occasional oasis' but they are very few and far between. So until Joe found one, he would be out in the baking hot heat for a while to come. Although the area was wide and open, several types of Pokemon enjoyed their life of bathing in constant, warm sun. Even as his boots slid across the sand, Joey found a flock of huge Fearow fly over head and into the Desert area.
Unlike other places within the Safari Zone, here, most Pokemon had nowhere to hide. Unless they were able to bury and breath beneath the sand, of course. So as his adventure continued, his eyes were met with the first encounter of this particular area. Rolling about in the sand on it's back with paws up in the air, was a multicoloured furred feline known as Luxio. As it continued to have it's little sand bath, excited sparks of electricity flickered from it's smiling fangs and star shaped tail. Rolling to one side, it's bright yellow eyes swiftly caught sight of Joey, although it was a little strange seeing a human sideways. With a frantic flip, the wild Pokemon tossed in the sand before making it back up and onto it's paws. Eyeing Joey cautiously, the wild creature waited to see what this human wanted.

Almost exhausting himself by crossing the expansive plains of the savannah, nothing could quite prepare Joey for the unbearable heat which would hit him as he began to make his way into the desert zone of the safari. Feeling the blistering hot sun beat against his face, he looked up and gasped. " Damn... Somethin' tells me this is not a place you wanna get stuck in." About to continue with his journey, he was stopped by the dark outlines up against the sun of what appeared to be vulture like predators just waiting for Joey to collapse and the chance for them to move in for the kill. " Jeez, there's another harsh reality of these kinda places. Not only is the locale inhospitable but the local wildlife make themselves known and just hang a lick outta your range as if to taunt ya." Thrusting an arm underneath an over, he called out to the wannabe vulture which at this point he had surmised to be Fearow from their cries and outline. " Hey birdies! Get bent! This is one snack you ain't gettin' for free!" Shaking his head, he pressed on. If worst came to worst and the Fearow started to attack him, he could always lob safari balls or rock at them. Bait was far too good for these scavengers. Nevertheless, with the threat looming at the back of his mind, he only had to take a few more steps before he was greeted with yet another encounter. " If there's one thing fer sure, you certainly get your money's worth for encounters here." Brushing aside what he had said, he examined the newly met Pokemon. Watching it laze about in the sun, there was no doubt these were the actions of a feline type of species. After all, this was the very same way Seline and Slash spent their days back at the warehouse. Park themselves down by one of the openings in the ceiling and let the sun pour through. " I sure am attractin' a lot of cats lately. Hey there fella." Greeting the Luxio, Joey pondered its exact species but was sure he had seen it somewhere previously. No doubt a friend of his had one in their fold they were raising. " Huh, whaddya say to comin' along with me? Sure we can find you a nice sunny spot to lounge in back where i'm from." Without wasting any more time, Joey primed a ball for capture and lobbed it forward. Joey lobs a safari ball!

As the Luxio continued it's stand off against Joey, the large feline eyed the human cautiously. It wasn't a placed they would usually be seen, so Joey was certainly a suspicious figure to come across in a place like this. Eyes thinning as the purple bandanna wearing biker strolled forward in a carefree manner and greeted the Luxio, it made very little effort to respond back to him. If anything, it tilted it's head ever so slightly to the side out of curiosity. Just what was he doing here? Tensing as Joey suddenly went into his pockets to bring out a Safari Ball, the Luxio certainly became more alert. Paws rustling in the sand, it lightly stepped to one side, head raised so that it could keep a close eye on what he was doing.
Then, the throw came. Luxio were a proud species and round objects didn't effect the electric type like it had done for the previous Persian. But all the Luxio could do was keep it's eyes focused on the ball, eyes beginning to cross over as it came closer and closer to the head of the beast. Not even trying to dodge or attack the object, the Luxio merely flinched as it was gently tapped on the head and dragged inside of the ball. Shaking from side to side in the sand, it tinged much quicker than usual, indicating a swift capture. The Luxio was likely too confused to realise just what had happened. Over head, the flock of Fearow which were still encircling Joey seemed to crow a cackle at the Luxio's misfortune.

As the ball ensnared the Pokemon he had targeted, Joey couldn't help but smirk to himself cheerfully. " This lazy soul sure makes a change from Polly." Gripping his side and giving it a small rub, part of Joey was still reeling in from being slammed around so viciously. Thankfully he hadn't been gorged by the Pokemon's horn but it was still an experience he could have done without. Thankfully there would be no resistance from this Luxio either as by the time the shaking back and forth had finished, the safari ball pinged with a resounding noise which notified Joey of a successful capture. " Haha, alright. Nice 'n easy, just the way I like it." Strolling over and picking it off, he dusted the capture device before giving it a jokey smooch and began as if looking up to a non-existent deity in the sky. " Cheers Lady Luck. Always keepin' an eye out for ol' Joey." Pocketing the new capture away, Joey pondered his next move. " This desert is bakin' hot. I really need to find some place new. Time to walk over in this direction I guess." Trudging his worn boots against the sand, he every now and again kicked up a patch of it to amuse his boredom. OOC: Just Lady Luck to thank. Boxing the Luxio for now and selling in my shop.
