IC: After giving his Raticate the command, the mouse Pokemon didn't move right away, but rather clicked and eyed the Drowzee for a bit, which seemed to made the psychic type more at ease about the battle now. The Drowzee understood that the Raticate wasn't here for its berries, as Ratz got WAY more delicious food to access by traveling with Ethan, such as tiramisu and milkshake. The normal type was quick on his feet, and knocked out Drowzee quickly. Ethan heard a squishy sound after the Drowzee had landed on the ground, and was hoping it wasn't a bug Pokemon like Wurmple. Thankfully, as it rolled over a bit, it was just some squished berries. Ethan thanked and returned his Raticate, and then went to thank the Drowzee for his time. Afterwards, he left the psychic type to find the path to Goldenrod City.
He did find the road to the next city.... blocked by a fence that he could not climb over, because the fence marked the end of some private properties. He walked along the fence, hopefully finding an exit somewhere.... or entrance, rather, to lead him to Goldenrod City. After five minutes, bummer! Now there was a ditch, or a drain thing, where it would be dangerous for him to jump over or walk over. Perhaps this drain/ditch was how the city or the route clear itself of heavy rain from flooding. Clever design for the city, but now he had to find a detour. Woops!

Although Ethan was moving in the right direction, he couldn't seem to find an open entrance that led into Goldenrod City. Instead, he had walked off of the main path and found himself face to face with a wall which edged around the entire city, to ensure that no wild Pokemon would wander in from the nearby route and run amok in the streets. Of course, there were always a few which made it through and lurked in the alley ways or underground but most knew to stay away from the human populated area. Following the direction of the wall, he thought that a gap, door or gate of some kind would appear eventually but instead, a large drain blocked his path. Far too risky and dangerous to cross, his only other option was to go back the way he came. After travelling through Ilex, it must've been frustrating to have such great difficulty finding a place to stop and rest in safety. If only there was someone he could ask for directions.
"I'm almost finished, Bulbasaur!"
As Ethan followed the wall back for a few minutes, after a while he came across the sight of a pair of floating Hoppip. Flower crowns around their heads, the two were circling in the air as if dancing with one another and as Ethan drew closer, another couple of figures were spotted. A young girl in her early teens was knelt on the grass, threading the stems of hand picked daisies together which she then tied up. Placing this final crown on the head of her Pokemon, who looked at her with an adoring smile, the young girl clapped her hands together and spoke in a soft voice. "Now we are all matching!" Considering Ethan had stepped this way earlier, it was a mystery that he hadn't spotted her the first time he passed by. Being alerted to Ethan's presence by a grunt of her Bulbasaur, the young girl turned her head and smiled to the aspiring DJ.
"Ooh! Hello!" Somewhat surprised, she jumped to her feet and brushed down her grass covered knees. "Are you lost? If you are looking for Goldenrod City, the entrance is that way." Pointing in the opposite direction to which Ethan had been travelling, it didn't seem that the girl was going to let him get away that easily. "To be out here, you must be a trainer?" Asking him with a tone of uncertainty, she tilted her head sweetly. "If you are, how about a Pokemon battle? I am always looking for fun challenges and you are a new face. We need all the experience we can get if we are ever going to travel together." Exchanging smiles between her team, the young girl held out her hand and gestured to one of the Hoppip. "How about you go first, Hoppip?" With a chirp, one of the two Hoppip floated forward. "My name is Gina, by the way. Let's have an exciting battle!"

Turning back to find another path to enter Goldenrod City, Ethan found himself facing a girl with some grass type Pokemon. Two Hoppips were floating in the air casually, with flower frowns on their head, just as the young trainer was finishing up the flower crown for the last Pokemon, a grounded Bulbasaur.
"Hello," he replied to the youngster, and listened to the girl as she began talking. It appeared that the young girl had figured out quickly that he was a bit lost. He smiled as he answered, "Well, yeah. Apparently I took the wrong turn. Thank you for showing me the way." Then, afterwards, the girl wasn't going to let him leave too quickly either. So their eyes locked in some way, and Ethan was glad to take the opportunity to examine those Hoppip some more. Sure, they're casual and carefree Pokemon, but he was thinking if they would be a bit slow to his tempo, as he reveres fast paced music.
"Sure, we can have a battle as my thanks for showing me the way. My name is Ethan, and nice to meet you, Gina. Come on out, Wavy, start with a Play Rough!" He spoke, and then walked away far enough between him and Gina that the POkemon could have space to battle. Then, he tossed out a giant and blue, rabbit-eared Pokemon. Wavy glared at the Hoppip and commented how very small it was.

Also stepping back to make some more space, her second Hoppip floated around and landed on her shoulder, whilst her Bulbasaur moved closer to her ankles. Smiling warmly, the girl pushed her arm forward, in front of her and stuck up her thumb. "Heehee, you too, Ethan! Let's get started!" Exchanging their greetings and introducing themselves, Gina had already chosen which Pokemon she wanted to use and eagerly awaited her opponents choice. With her arms swinging childishly by her side, a large smile remained on her face, growing even bigger as Wavy was sent forward. "Ooh! OH! That's an Azumarill!" Clapping her hands together lightly as she exclaimed with glee, she seemed happy with Ethan's choice of Pokemon. "How adorable!" Though Gina found the Azumarill cute on appearance, the creature herself was known for her sarcasm. Grunting with a sly smirk, Wavy seemed to find Gina's behaviour funny but not as much as the weakling she was facing.
Puffing out it's cheeks, the once happy go lucky expression on the Hoppip's face turned to that of a frown. Immediately not liking the aura of Wavy, the Hoppip wished that her trainer wasn't giving her opponent so much attention. "Make sure you play nice, Hoppip!" Misunderstanding Ethan's words and not knowing it was an actual attack, Gina chimed in, "We'll start with Bullet Seed-- Huh?" By the time she had decided, Wavy had already bounded straight for her opponent. With her huge power, the Azumarill let loose all her strength under the disguise of merely playing. Bashing into the Hoppip, pushing it around and giving it a good slap or two, it wasn't long at all before the Hoppip's eyes began to swirl and it's body floated tiredly to the ground. Gasping, Gina blinked her eyes. "O-Oh! Hoppip, are you okay?!" Not receiving a response, she tilted her head to the side curiously but in the end, decided to withdraw her Pokemon back into it's Pokeball.
"I guess she didn't want to play... How about you, Hoppip?" The second Hoppip on her shoulder nodding, it parted from the girl and softly floated in front of Wavy. Having witnessed Wavy's behaviour, the second Hoppip was very weary, staring at the water type with a calculating glance. Gina might have thought that the Azumarill was cute but her opponents now knew otherwise.

"Thank you," Ethan replied to Gina's compliment about his Azumarill. Even though Wavy was a cute rabbit, she was packed with a lot of power. Going up to the Hoppip, the Azumarill looked like it was playing with the grass type. However, the water type Pokemon was feigning playfulness, and ended up knocking out the unfortunate Hoppip in one play game. The move Play Rough was a bit rougher than he would have expected. The Hoppip seemed like the toy that was played by Azumarill. Her cute face came with plentiful of deception.
Afterwards, Gina sent out another Hoppip. Ethan thanked his Azumarill's work, and returned the powerful toy player. He then tossed out another Pokeball, sending another Pokemon into the fray. "Well, that was a bit rougher than I thought. Let's hope my next Pokemon play a little nicer this time. Ratz, come on out and use Hyper Fang!" Out from the Pokeball was a smaller rodent with two giant front teeth. Although he didn't look like he would attack the Hoppip as hard as Wavy, those teeth looked dangerous in its own right. "I'll hope this round would let your Hoppip play a little bit."

Gina's second Hoppip was very cautious of the Azumarill and felt very lucky and blessed when Ethan decided to withdraw it back into it's Pokeball. Although it upset the young girl quite a bit, as it was such a cute Pokemon to look at. "D'aww. It was fun playing with you, Azumarill!" Waving to the bulky water Pokemon as it was drawn back into it's Pokeball, Gina eagerly awaited Ethan's next choice but it wasn't exactly the same as his previous one. "Ooh!..." Trying to sound cheerful about being faced with a Raticate, she couldn't quite hide the disappointment in her voice. It's not that Raticate were an ugly creature, if anything such large fangs could be viewed as goofy or sweet. "There are a lot of Raticate in this area. Did you capture one?" Trying to act interested, she hoped that she wasn't coming off as rude to poor Ratz. "Okay Hoppip! This Pokemon looked really tough, so do your best!" That was the other thing. This Raticate was particularly bulky and strong looking, more so than those in the wild in the local area.
"I got it! You should use Sleep Powder, Hoppip!" Nodding in agreement to her young trainer's uncertainty, the floating Hoppip began to approach Ratz but there was little to no reason to even try. Much faster, bigger and stronger, there was no doubt that this rodent had incredible guts that would strengthen him up and lead him to victory. Lashing out at the floating grass type, Ratz caught his opponent in his jaw and began chomping down on it with his giant fangs. Gina couldn't stop herself from screaming out in surprise but tried her best to cover it up with an awkward laugh. "AAAHHH-- ...Hah.. haha... You got me! Your Raticate is just too strong! Hoppip doesn't stand a chance! Haha!" Although that was plenty obvious, as the Hoppip had long since fainted. Gulping, she began to secretly wish that she hadn't asked this guy to battle her after all. Looking down to her Bulbasaur who nudged her feet, he had shook off his flower crown and was suggesting it was nos his turn. "O-Okay..." Although a bit scared now, Gina smiled up at Ethan. "Bulbasaur is my last Pokemon. So let's uh, continue!"

OOC: Using running shoes to have Baltoy use Psychic twice if it can't KO in one hit IC: So using the Raticate brought some... slightly uninteresting response from the little girl. While many people aren't fans of these rodents with big fangs, a small number of people do! And Ethan was one of them! Answering the girl's question simply, he responded, "Heh, to be honest, my Raticate was originally a Rattata. When I moved to New Bark Town, the Pokeball sort of was slipped into my bag. Maybe someone didn't want their Pokemon? Or the person wanted to leave Ratz behind? I don't know. But we bonded quickly." He answered, well if this Raticate had anything else to bond. The only few things it does besides basic functions was chewing things and crawling around. Afterwards, well, his speedy Raticate brought him another victory. First it was the Drowzee, then it was this Hoppip. He smiled embarrassingly at another one hit knock out, and spoke. "Well yeah, Ratz helped me defeat one of Bugsy's Pokemon, so he is quite strong." Continuing on to what looked like this young girl's last pokemon, unless she had more in other Pokeballs, it was a Bulbasaur up next. Ethan once again swapped out his Raticate, and then sent out Disco, a dancing claymation Pokemon. "You're up, Disco! Use Psychic!" He tossed out a Pokeball and revealed an earthen Pokemon. The Pokemon looked like it could be someone's toy from historical time!

Still a bit timid and worried for her Bulbasaur, Gina watched with worried eyes as Ethan released a new Pokemon to the field. Was this one as strong as the others? Gina had to admit, it looked pretty funny. "I've never seen a P-Pokemon like that before!" More surprise than fear, Gina had a little spark of curiosity. "Bulbasaur, let's hang in there okay? He's pretty strong but he's nothing compared to you!" She grinned, and Bulbasaur matched the facial expression before narrowing his eyes at Ethan. The Bulbasaur was prepared for the match, but it was obvious there was a bit of a disadvantage for the poor bulb Pokemon. Ethan's first attack would be psychic, so Bulbasaur needed to stay strong. "If you're going with a Psychic attack, I bet a Grass attack would hurt your Pokemon!"The Psychic energy was hurtling fast, so Gina waited to see if Bulbasaur could dodge or even survive the impact. It rocketed into her Bulbasaur and Gina could only watch as the Bulbasaur writhed in pain. "Bulbasaur! You can do it!" Although the attack was powerful, whether it was Bulbasaur's strength or the strength he pulled from his trainer's voice, Bulbasaur remained standing after all. Gina pumped a fist into the air happily. "Awesome! Good job, Bulbasaur! Now, try a Razor Leaf!" Feeling a bit guilty for waiting to see if her Pokemon would survive, Gina shook the idea from her mind and cheered on Bulbasaur. The leaves pelted against the Baltoy and managed to take a major amount of health from the creature. Even though Bulbasaur was badly injured, still pumping out an attack like that was impressive! "Great hit! If we can be a little bit faster than Disco this turn we can win!"Speed wasn't in Bulbasaur's favor however, as Baltoy reacted on gut instinct, shooting out yet another Psychic. Crestfallen, Gina watched as the Bulbasaur writhed in pain until he went limp, falling to the ground with a soft plop. Disco had pulled through, albeit barely. Gina's Bulbasaur - Level |23| Health: 60/60 Current Status: Lucky shot... Successful Razor Leaf! No Attack!... Ethan's Disco - Level |24|
Health: 26/60 Current Status: Dat intuition, tho Successful Psychic! Successful Psychic!
Disco fought valiantly, and has gained +2 levels and +1 happiness for it's efforts! Disco is now level 26. Disco is trying to learn Power Trick. Delete a move to make room for Power Trick? Dynner observed, and has gained +1 level! Dynner is now level 25.
Still standing rather dumbstruck, Gina shakily returned her fainted Bulbasaur, glad that he was at least allowed to get a hit in edgewise this battle. "Well, uh, you battled very well! We could barely get a word in edgewise. I uh, think you're a pretty strong trainer with pretty powerful Pokemon! I know we would have lost anyways, but it would have been nice to be a little bit faster than you to at least take Disco down." Although still visibly shaken by Ethan's Pokemon and their complete dominance over her roster, Gina managed to shove her hand into her pocket and retrieve a little bit of money. Stepping forward, Gina offered it to Ethan before beginning to return to her chipper self. "Even though we lost, it was still an experience! Even though we didn't gain anything from it, I learned a lot about how to lose gracefully, and about other Pokemon I hadn't seen before." Satisfied with that, Gina bowed slightly before turning to head to the nearest Pokemon Center to heal up. Ethan defeated Picknicker Gina! £200 has been added. Updated
//next time incorporate the shoes in your post, as in, give Baltoy the order instead of adding the mod note. I didn't want to be a butt and not add in the second attack, but next time add it in :3 Wasn't close to a one shot, only max of 80%

OOC: Moving Exp share to Meowth Ignoring Power Trick because IT WILL MAKE EVERYONE COMPLICATED CALCULATING also Baltoy don't use attack anyways and will do.
Going up against the Bulbasaur, both the Bulbasaur and the Baltoy have advantage and disadvantage over the other. It would have been a close match if they were equal in speed. However, the spinning clay toy was thankfully a bit faster. Trading a powerful psychic for a sometimes powerful razor leaf, the Baltoy withstood the Bulbasaur's super effective move, and then was able to finish up its opponent with another equally powerful psychic attack. Then, there he was to claim victory.
He smiled as he listened to Gina's compliments, even returned compliments back to her about how kind to Pokemon she was. He thanked her for showing direction, and the battle, and he also took the winning prize money. He looked around before he realized that he could be following Gina's direction to go to the next city. Only difference was, he was walking casually slower than Gina's running to the Pokemon Center. Perhaps, he'll just stay on this route a little bit longer.

After suffering from a rather crushing defeat, the young girl still took her loss as a learning curve and handled it well. Thanking Ethan for the experience, she decided to rush off toward the entrance of Goldenrod City close by, where she could heal up her Pokemon and perhaps stick to quietly making matching daisy chains with her Pokemon in peace. Although meeting Gina had it's perks. As well as earning his own Pokemon some valuable experience, he had learnt the direction to the nearby city but by this point, he had been in a number of battles so might as well continue on. The route was full of new Pokemon, not found in previous routes, so it would be exciting to see just what else was laying in wait, ready to pounce on the unsuspecting trainer.
Walking slowly through the grass, a sudden cry would've caught his attention. What sounded like a loud neigh was suddenly accompanied by the sound of stomping hooves, which just happened to be closing in on Ethan! Bursting out through the tall grass now stood a young foul, parts of it's body ablaze with wild, burning flames. It was warm to stand next to but it's passion for a challenge burned even brighter. Eager to battle every human opponent it could, the Ponyta wanted nothing more than to test it's strength and with a butt of it's head and stomp of it's front hoof, it demanded a battle from the man.
A wild Ponyta (Level 14) has appeared! Please select a Pokemon to use in battle or Flee!

OOC: Cottone lead with Stun Spore IC: Slowly making his way to Goldenrod City, Ethan found himself facing a fiery Ponyta. The stomping of hooves on the ground and the loud neigh from the bushes getting louder and louder made him uneasy as the Pokemon seemed to be coming from the grasses to attack him. Thankfully, this fire type stopped before trampling him with multiple hooves and giving him an internal injury.
Seeing such another rare Pokemon that lives on this route, he decided right away to capture this one. "Come on out, Weecot and use Stun Spore!" He grabbed a Pokeball and tossed it into the field, sending out a Pokemon who looked like it would be type disadvantaged to the flaming steed. A fluffy and energetic Cottone came out, bouncing on the field non-stop. Then, he quickly bounced toward the fire type as he released a volume of Stun Spore at the opponent, squeaking happily like the stun spores were confetti for a new year party.

As the Ponyta stopped before Ethan, the flaming horse stared at the human with it's large, chestnut brown eyes. Digging it's hooves into the earth below, it waited for his response and tensed upon seeing a Pokeball appear in the man's hand. Trotting backward and flicking it's fiery mane, the Ponyta awaited to see it's opponent. Wanting something big and strong in order to test it's burning flames on, what appeared instead was almost a disappointment, for the Ponyta atleast. Small, cute and very fragile looking, Weecot was a very energetic Cottonee but it was an opponent that the Ponyta wouldn't be able to take seriously. Furrowing it's eyes angrily, the Ponyta neighed in disagreement, clapping it's hooves against the grass scattered ground. It didn't matter, all the wild steed had to do was defeated this and then maybe a true, tough foe would appear.
But there was more to Weecot that met the eye. Bouncing around, each and every movement meant that little spores of pollen had started to release from it's cotton like body. The yellow coloured spores lifted and floated through the air and at first, Ponyta paid it no mind. But as the particles began to cling to the horse's body and somewhere breathed in through it's nostrils, all of a sudden, the Ponyta realised what had happened. But it was far too late. By not reacting quick enough or even taking the Cottonee seriously, the wild Ponyta had fallen victim to a Stun Spore and now it's entire body was paralysed. Struggling to move, it felt like more of an effort than it needed to, as the Ponyta's mind and body seemed to struggle working together. Grinding it's jaw, the Ponyta let out a large neigh, managing to release a number of burning embers from it's fiery mane, which scattered across the body of Weecot.

OOC: gonna be edgy and switch to Baltoy and use Psychic even though I have chance to KO it XD #risky life #edgy RP #let's see what RNG god says
Weecot was such an energetic bouncer that Ethan could still be celebrating his Bugsy gym battle. Even though Ethan considered himself an active person, he sometimes would find his Cottonee a bit too much for him. Looking back at the battle, even though his Cottonnee was quite a type disadvantage to the fiery Ponyta, the bouncy energetic stun spore released from the Pokemon seemed to have shut down the steed from attacking this turn. The fire type was completely unable to move, to even make a move to intimidate the grass type, or burn Weecot.
He thanked his grass type Pokemon's help, and returned the grass type once more. Then, he switched his Pokemon and sent out the Baltoy again, who had just previously beaten Gina's Bulbasaur with Psychic attack. "Disco, use Psychic on the Ponyta!" The little clay figure came out, and spun on the ground a little while blasting weak beam of lights off its eyes like a disco ball. Then, it stopped and focused a psychic on the fire type, it was as if the little spinning was a warm up.

The wild Ponyta tried moving, wanting to sink it's hooves into that annoying little cotton pokemon and get back at it for the paralyzed state that it had put it in. But instead it was paralyzed to watch at the human in a flash of light put the little pokemon back in it's ball and out came a spinning top looking pokemon for the Ponyta to finish off.
The human gave some attack and the next thing the Ponyta knew it felt this strange energy hit it and felt out of control of it's own body. It snorted, trying to run but it couldn't move. The energy finally subsided but the equine was left tired from the expanse of energy and fighting it. Figuring out that it wasn't going to be able to move much it took a deep breath focusing on the flames around it coming into a group and letting the energy out creating a flame wheel. So far it seemed that being able to work with it's own flames was how this wild animal was going to be able to make any contributions to the battle.
The flames hit the Baltoy, they were not very strong but it did some damage that the Ponyta snorted in content at the damage the flames did.

OOC: -1 ball, self deduct IC:
Now that the Ponyta had been thoroughly weakened by Ethan's combination of paralysis and weakening its stamina, the young trainer was ready to capture this Pokemon. Well, he had been ready since he saw the fire type, but he had just needed to do the usual weakening tactic. Grabbing a Pokeball from his bag, he walked up a bit closer to the Baltoy, and stepped near the spinning Pokemon before tossing the capture device. He then prepared himself and tossed the PokeBall. He was mostly confident that the fire type won't have enough stamina to get out of this one.
He then watched as the capture Pokemon moment continued, with his Baltoy wobbling while it waited to see if the Ponyta would pop open and fight back. Seeing a Seviper and then a Ponyta, the rare Pokemon around this Goldenrod City was as much fun as the city it sounded. Perhaps there were even more excitements await for him inside the city, and there was no doubt about it!
